Top Interesting Innovations from CES 2022

Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the world’s most influential technology event is held annually in Las Vegas, United States to provide a stage for the companies to showcase ground-breaking innovations.

This mega event is produced by the US Consumer Technology Association and the next wave of innovations in tech and smart home appliances were unveiled at the trade show including Samsung, Sony, and TCL were crowned Best of Innovation (BoI) award winners (among others), but the most notable innovations came from smaller and upcoming brands.

Here are some of the top picks from CES 2022 tech innovations.

Skydio 2+

Skydio is one of those brands that’s been making waves with its smart features. Considering drones are being used everywhere, people are pretty pumped about the skydio2.

On top of a 20 percent boost in battery life and control range, Skydio also added its keyframe technology. Keyframe is an app that allows the user to create a pre-set flight plan for the drone. It will then use an autonomous AI to do both the flying and filming for you. This also allows you to reroute over and over again.

Samsung eco remote

Samsung has a lot of tech innovations this year at CES. Yet, the most unique product that stole the show was a TV remote. The Eco Remote was an impressive device at the event. Samsung has been trying to push more environmentally-friendly products for a while and with this remote, they are promising a situation where you never have to charge it again. It can be charged by collecting your router's radio waves and converting them into energy.

However, Samsung's previous Eco Remote, this can be charged by solar energy, between the solar power and radio waves, this is a remote that should never run out of charge.

The Color changing car (BMW)

BMW's iX Flow has become the keynote of this year's CES event. While this is just a concept car, the iX Flow has a special trick up its sleeve. It looks like a normal car but, at the touch of a button, it can completely change color.

BMW has made use of color-swapping e-ink 'paint' which means it can change effortlessly from black to white. Calling it to paint doesn't quite encapsulate the technology going on here. Instead, BMW has covered the car in a body wrap with electrophoretic technology built into it.

Masonite M-Pwr smart door

Got bored of the same old normal doors? Masonite has come up with its unique innovation, M-Pwr smart door. As part of a collaboration from Masonite, Ring, and Yale, this door has integrated power, lights, sensors, a video doorbell, and a smart lock all built-in.

More specifically, that means a Ring Video doorbell, a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Yale smart lock, and a PIR motion sensor. The door also has its built-in smart hub with a backup battery just in case you have a power outage in your home.

TCL NXTPAPER 10s

The TCL NXTPAPER 10s is designed specifically with a focus on eye protection. Blue right reduction is front and center, with the feature built directly into both the tablet’s software and hardware.

Its paper-like display design utilizes 10 layers of protection to retain natural colors, setting an industry standard. The display is TÜV certified and reduces blue light through the screen by over 50%. Users will also enjoy clear viewing from any angle due to the display’s anti-glare finish.
