I love the monsoon, mostly because there is nothing more I hate than the fiery hell that is the summer. Monsoon signifies a change from a barren wasteland to a bountiful not-so-wasteland, the city cools down, you can sit in your balcony with a hot cup of coffee and find excuses to stay in all day and play video games, it is great!

However, this idealistic view of monsoons was great when I was a carefree kid obsessed with getting Lara Croft to discover the lost secrets of Atlantis, not so much when I'm an adult. I'm told I have to be a responsible adult, which means going out and getting a job among other things, and since most jobs require you to be somewhere that is not your comfortable bed or your PC/Console, you'll have to use the beautiful streets of Hyderabad.

I love this city, it has given me a lot but navigating its serpentine lifelines during the monsoons become an exercise in patience, your driving skills and sometimes tests your sea legs as well. I would recommend going to the Hyderabad Sailing Club to learn a thing or two to prepare for the season.

Last year, despite being a poor monsoon, the city came to a grinding halt when heavy rains lashed the city and broke its back. Streets were flooded, traffic jams extended as far as the eye could see, phones ran out of batteries (oh the horror!), tempers ran hot enough to burn the rain drops off of them, it was complete chaos, and of course I was stuck in the middle of one such jam far away from home and cursing my fate, reconsidering why I loved monsoons in the first place.

I don't want to point fingers here, it's not like the government is not doing anything, because they are. For the heavy rains last year in September, Telangana Minister of Information Technology, K.T. Rama Rao announced in a press conference the measures the government was taking to tackle the battering Hyderabad had received, including but not limited to emergency medical relief, GHMC officials along with Electricity Department, the Police and the Fire Department worked overtime to restore services as soon as possible, and our sewage system was put up for review.

Today, on a break with my colleagues, we noticed a GHMC van with Monsoon Emergency Vehicle on the side. Upon being approached, the GHMC worker in charge of the vehicle revealed that the government had assigned one vehicle for every two areas of the city. Their responsibilities, they said, was clearing up blocked roads, clearing stagnant water, checking for overflowing drains, checking for open manholes, helping people whose houses are overtaken by water, and in case of a bigger emergency, call backup as well.

But here's the problem, last year's response was after the fact, a reaction to an event that happened, instead of being prepared and preventing an event like this from happening. With the Monsoon Emergency Vehicle, the Telangana government has taken a commendable step in cutting the response time and ensuring the people get help as soon as possible.

The young people of this city will inherit the city tomorrow, should they decide to stay of course. It becomes clear then that in this age of the Internet and IoT, students are the ones that can come up with innovative solutions. One of the key cornerstones of a startup is the question, what problem is the startup solving? A cursory glance on the street outside will give any enterprising individual plenty of problems to solve, so it's about time to get cracking, I suppose.

Hyderabad is rapidly growing, we're on the global map for what this city stands for, its food and its people are known across the country, sometimes even outside of the country. So it only is fair that we, as citizens of this city, hope for the best from our government when it comes to the metropolitan planning of the city's drains to avoid situations like these. The Hans India reported here that the city roads are still not monsoon ready, despite facing similar situations every year without fail. This is the year that the city faced an extremely annoying heatwave, and monsoons arrived sooner than expected, so it doesn't inspire any confidence in the city streets.
Roads are a city's lifeline, the traffic on any given road can mean life and death to some, and they don't even have to be in an ambulance for that. The state of driving in this town is a story for another time, but until then, we can only hope that this monsoon passes without incident and roads where you have to sail instead of drive.
Yeah, the last line sounded a bit too optimistic, but hey, that's the best I can do sitting at the office. It just occurred to be that the funniest thing would be you reading this article while stuck in traffic due to the rain, but then I shouldn't be laughing at your misfortune, I'm not that bad of a person.
Yet.
"}]

Students are often in a dilemna as to attempt which exam. So here are a few factors that might help you in making the choice.
1.Duration: The TOEFL exam will be for a duration of about 4 hours approximately. The IELTS exam on the other hand will roughly take you about 3 hours. Another thing to remember is that TOEFL is attempted fully on a single day. IELTS on the other hand will be usually divided into two slots which have to be attempted on different dates.
As can be seen for the TOEFL exam you need a greater attention span as well as patience.
2.Cost: A TOEFL exam has a fees of 170 USD in India. The IELTS exam is also priced similarly at around 170-175 USD.
3.Scoring: In TOEFL you receive a score of 0-120. For IELTS, you have score bands of 0-9 where 9 is the highest band score possible.
4.Acceptance:More universities recognize the TOEFL scores when compared to IELTS scores. Although this distinction has almost become obsolete, there are some universities which specifically ask for a TOEFL or IELTS score report.
5.Content: Although both the exams consist of 4 sections-Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing, IELTS offers an academic option as well as a general test. Students are generally expected to attempt the academic test when applying for universities. The general test is usually for immigrants or people seeking employment.
6.Format:There are slight nuances in the models of questions asked. For example ,in TOEFL exam as a part of integrated tasks you have to listen to a conversation or lecture. There is no such requirement for an integrated tasks in IELTS but you may be asked to incorporate information derived from a graphic or a short passage into your answer.
Also for the TOEFL exam's listening section, one would just have to record his/her answer. On the other hand for IELTS, this section will actually be conducted by an actual person who will ask you questions.
Also in the writing section, for TOEFL, you are expected to type the answer whereas for IELTS, you have to write it.
7.Dialects:TOEFL exam is generally based on American English as it is conducted by ETS(Education and Testing services). The IELTS exam is based on British English as it is conducted by the British Council. However it must be remembered that there is not much distinction between the two and also the fact that the evaluators are more concerned with your fluency and content rather than the dialect that you choose.
So I hope that you can now make a wise choice. Students have an issue, they feel that they are without fault and yet lack self-confidence.

When a student gets questioned in class or some other place, if the answer is familiar enough, the problem comes when they can't answer because there exists a fear that what will happen if the answer is wrong.

Also if student fail to take initiative, to volunteer even when they want to but every time someone steps up before themselves could convince and opportunity slips away,

What should they do?

Do hard things. Doing hard things breeds confidence.

->Waking up at 5 am is hard.

->Running first thing in the morning is hard.

->Working on your business alone on a Saturday night is hard.

->Quitting your job to pursue what makes you happier is hard.

->Moving to a new place to find better friends is hard.

->Deciding what you want to do with your life is hard. If you do these things, you will begin to develop self-esteem.

Self-Esteem:-

->Esteem is respect and admiration.

->Self-esteem is respect and admiration for you.

That’s right; It means some think about themselves as awesome and not in some cruel way. We all know people like that and they are no fun.

Most often, behind the aspect and underneath the layers, they are simply seeking acceptance. So, people need to start by getting their own approval without being dependent on someone.

Understand that you have value.

For a personal, True confidence is to know completely that they are able to rely on their strengths but not depending on others.
And also knowing they are in control of themselves,
Knowing about executing what you decided.
How to build confidence fast?
Start by doing hard things because it’s the best way to build.

TOEFL and IELTS are both exams that test a students' general proficiency in English.

All the best...

Most of us won't look twice at a manual scavenger, due to various reasons, social, economical, discriminatory, and even dehumanising. You just feel you're lucky that you don't have to do the job that they have to do, and frankly you should indeed be glad for that, the workers who depend on manual scavenging are often uneducated and support their family through various small jobs, including lowering themselves into sewers and putting their health at risk every now and then, just so our plumbing system works. In exchange, they make less than Rs. 500 per descent, they get insulted for doing the job nobody else would do, their children are discriminated against, and there are a few people that want to deny them their reservation rights, but that is a story for another time.

Officially, Manual scavenging is illegal, but sadly there have been very little provisions to actually stop the need of manual scavenging to exist in the first place, and the scavengers themselves, with no other craft to turn to since nobody would hire them and the fact that they lack education, often find themselves stuck between a rock and a hard place, between a choice of going without a job or going back into scavenging. Every Classroom hold innumerable memories for us. We saw all kinds of people , but the most intresting ones of the lot were the back benchers and most silence people's are first benchers . Everyone would wonder what these last bench students s did, and why the teachers were always suspicious of them. Being a back bencher,I think it’s because they couldn’t handle the craziness of the back benchers and they cannot answer the questions raised by the backbenchers.

Some crazy things that are done by the back benchers :

Starting with how they get up and get ready , they get up just 10 minutes before our classes start running . At last they come to the class the reason explained by back benchers are very funny they use silly reasons simply 'bike puncture , bus late '. The reasons really make us laugh!

You instinctively went to the back, even if the front seats were empty, sometimes they are forced to sit in the first benches.

Sitting in backbenches and secretly listen to music at the back.

Backbenchers almost always work on another subject’s homework during a class timings like assignments.

Only back benchers have the guts to fall asleep because the teacher couldn’t see you.

Only back benchers had the liberty to eat when classes are going on.

All the teachers collectively thought that only backbenchers a were the naughty ones and have a good character.

Comming to cheating in examination it was really a good adventure in opening slips and writing the answers .

Life of a first bencher:

Starting from how they get up early in the morning and attend classes. They get up early in the Morning and they get hurry and tensed Weather they may miss a few minutes of class and they that may result in the decrease of the percentage .

More over every class has a small group of the people who fight for reserving their seats in the first bench of the classroom.

There is no bond in between those small group of people . They really fear and suffer for every simple problem. They get jealous very easily if other people answer a question raised in the middle of class . Internally they die if there friends get more marks .

This jealously separates them from enjoying everything . They don't even spend time with friends in talking about their life style . They don't reveal their plans that how they study and how they move forward in the life.

When teachers show more concentration on other people they suffer a lot . Simply they are leading a very hard life . They don't know what they are missing in name of enjoyment .

These people never bunk classes .even needed they attend special classes even .

They may get percentages but they don't how the society is growing .

Okay, so EAMCET is done and all students who got through the exam are now whiling away the last proper vacation of their lives and at the same time, are concerned about what college they will get into. We solved that problem by www.eamcetrank.com and now, we give students this cheat-sheet of what to watch out for while joining an engineering college.

1. Labs and other Infrastructure:

While every college has a lab, the quality of infrastructure in the labs matters a lot, whether the equipment is updated or not, whether there are proper safety systems in place or not. So do visit the college first and check out the labs to see for yourself what kind of quality exists there.

txt
rich_1496747146521

2. Library

It's a popular myth that engineering students don't usually go to libraries but trust us, college library can become your best friend in times of need. Most colleges have extensive collection of technical and non-technical books and it is worth a visit to the college library before joining to know what kind of books they have on hand; as most of the time, some of the books available in the college library aren't usually available elsewhere.

txt
rich_1496747169215

3. Alumni

The reason students prefer some colleges over the others is because of the alumni, who went on to achieve greater heights in life based on the skills they acquired in college. Checking out alumni from the college website, contacting them and interacting with them about the benefits of that college actually helps.

txt
rich_1496747191164

4. Placement opportunities

Colleges go to great lengths to ensure their students get placed but some colleges specifically partner up with giants like google, Microsoft, etc, to provide the best opportunities to students right after college. So checking the college website for previous placement records and placement partners is a good option and is something every student should do before joining the college.

txt
rich_1496747228932

5. Sports, Activities and Clubs:

College is a place for overall growth of an individual and a place for all round personality development. So check out what kind of clubs and activities the college has. Regardless of whether the activities are technical or non-technical, being involved in them promotes problem-solving and leadership skills at the very least. So whether it is a drama club or a literary club or something technical like IEEE, check them out beforehand and join them once you join that college.

txt
rich_1496747264578
