[{"type":"txt","id":"rich_1481628641631","data":"Students of Delhi's Shri Ram College of Commerce have taken it upon themselves to enable the village of Basaudi in the Sonipat district of Haryana to go cashless. The initiative is being called Project Khushhail. The students have come up with a full blown plan to push the 2000 odd residents of the village towards going cashless. <\/p>"},{"type":"img","id":"img-uid-1481629544767","data":"584fdfbc4520e"},{"type":"txt","id":"rich_1481629590248","data":"After an initial study, the students quickly found out that over 60% of the villagers do not have a bank account, did not have crop insurance and more importantly, had no bank in their village at all! It was following this info that the plan of action sprung into existence. <\/p>"},{"type":"img","id":"img-uid-1481629775263","data":"584fe0a185060"},{"type":"txt","id":"rich_1481629824232","data":"Project Khushhail set a goal of enabling the 2000 villagers go cashless, and this was to be done using a three pronged method where they would help the villagers open bank accounts and show them how a cashless transaction is conducted. This would be enabled by Door to Door campaigns, a stage play performed by the students titled Baat Bachat Ki, and getting an SBI Mobile ATM to visit the village, with bank forms and printers that would make opening bank accounts on the spot much easier. They will also distribute pamphlets and follow up with the village 30 days after the project is conducted. <\/p>The project aims to make Basaudi go cashless, much like the village of Akodra in Gujarat, which made the news a few days ago. <\/p>Here's wishing them the best of luck with their endeavors. <\/p>"}]
