A mother and a baby camel were lying around.

Suddenly the baby camel asked, "Mother can I ask you some questions?"

The mother said , "Sure! Baby"

The baby camel asked "Why do camels have humps?"

The mother said , "Well son, we are desert animals,we need the humps to store water and we are known to survive without water."

Baby said , "Okay, then why are our legs long and our feet rounded ?"

The mother said, "Son obviously they are meant for walking in the desert. You know with these legs I can move around the desert better than anyone does!"

The baby camel said , "Okay ,then why are our eyelashes long? Sometimes it bothers my sight".

Mother said with pride, "My son, those long thick eyelashes are your protective cover. They help to protect your eyes from the desert sand and wind.

Baby after thinking said,"I see.So the hump is to store water, when we are in the desert, the legs are for walking through the desert and the eyelashes protect my eyes from the desert than what in God's name are we doing here in the zoo!?"

A beautiful morning of day thirteen,

The sun was about to rise.

Birds were up to start their routine,

Searching for nuts, seed and rice.

The street was dull and busy but old,

With bicycles rushing milk and news.

Great poor souls cleaning the streets though cold,

Sweeping aside fallen leaves and dew.

In a beautiful house the work was at brisk,

Food in the kitchen, hot water for bath,

Worship of the God in another part,

My heart aches to write the aftermath.

Lo! Broke out the fire, all of the sudden!

Extending its flame to uncontrolled height.

Burning lakhs of memories, works and wishes,

Taking away four lives, causing fright.

It was a dawn as beautiful as gold,

Burnt to ashes by the fire's cold.

When many were still on bed with yawn,

To that beautiful family and that beautiful home,

It was the Dusk at the Dawn!

Recognising the contributions of workers and labourers across the world, May 1 is celebrated as the International Labour Day, with the notable exception of a few countries which celebrate it on other days of the year. While we all know what MayDay or Labour Day is, do we know what prompted it and how workers rights came around to be?

Here are the top facts that you need to know about International Worker's Day.

1. Bloody history

Is there any change that is possible without a bloody revolution? The answer is yes, but sometimes it becomes unavoidable, and all we can do is study it and learn from what happened. Back in the late 1800s, 1886 in fact, around 2,50,000 factory workers in Chicago took to the streets to protest reduction of work hours to 8. Of course the protests were not met with kindly, as the Police shot and killed a worker, and the workers retaliated with a bomb, killing police offers.

Today, we remind ourselves of what happened just so we remember not to do it all over again.

2. The Day is dotted with parades and demonstrations

Even to this day, despite the sacrifices of the many works over the years, working conditions still remain abysmal for many people, thus requiring protests and demonstrations. It has historically been a day to make the worker's voice heard.

3. May Day's ancient origins

May Day, or May 1st, is considered an ancient religious holiday, marking the spring festivals of earth-worshipping religions from across the world. It was, over the years, claimed by Workers Union to fight for their rights.

4. Highlighting worker rights

The day has been used by socialists around the world to highlight worker issues, also by radicals and other groups. Soviet Russia used to consider May Day the most important day of the year.

That being said, there absolutely a need to highlight worker issues even today when there are places that abuse workers for their own gain.

5. Different countries, Different Dates, Same Sentiment

Known by many different names, from May Day to International Worker's Day, to Labour Day, the sentiment around the world is the same. Respect the rights of workers and ensuring they aren't exploited for corporate greed.

1. What exactly is the brain built on?

Grey matter and white matter is all it takes to make a brain , but there is a lot more like the brain tissues ,and bundles of axons. If there is more to it, a person can differentiate between neurons and glia.

But what is not answered are the types of brain cells, the neurons and their electrical property and how the brain thinks.

2. What happens when you get a disease?

There are various kinds of brain cells which remain unidentified. When a person suffers from syndromes, diseases and disorders related to the brain , there is barely any cure available and gene therapy ? How is it going to solve the mystery because we dont know which cell actually gets affected.

3. Neurons communicate , but how?

Many of us would learnt about synapse in our science books and it is true for most of them but there are other signalling molecules which we have not discovered yet. We dont know where drugs like meth, heroine or medicines for anti depression act on in the brain. Its difficult because there are more than a billion synapses taking place and mapping them is a mammoth task and impossible for now.

4. Our brain is literally a supercomputer, how?

Understanding what the brain is made up of , is a challenge in itself but trying to explain how it coordinates , combines and manages this complexity is a much bigger challenge. Just imagine , how quick your brain actually is? An object is thrown at your face and you move in a fraction of a second, that is faster than an app opening in your Iphone. How? Nobody knows it yet.

5.If you want to understand a brain , what exactly will it take?

Biology is not going to explain it. It does not care about beauty and brain does not care if you dont. It takes a lot of science and history to get this going but dont worry , We are way different than what we were a decade ago, Thanks to the geniuses of Technology and Artificial Intelligence.
"}]
WHAT AVENGERS TAUGHT US?

“What can a movie characters teach me?” might be your initial expression when you first read the title.

Anyone can learn from anything in the nature when they have that aspiration to learn. When you rightly understand the character design, every movie character will have something to say and make us something to learn.

1.IRON MAN

The most loved character in marvel Franchise is Iron Man with his fan base not only limited to US but spread all across the world. Iron Man is son of Howard Stark who owns weapon manufacturing industry that made his richest.
People say that as he is rich and have splendid resources with him, he could achieve all these glories. But what is point of having resources when you don’t have skill and knowledge to utilize them.
In Iron man movie, when he got kidnapped by terrorist union and made isolated, he never gave up and built his own suit with limited resources he had around.

What can we learn?

From Iron Man we can learn perseverance and patience. When things are not going around as per your expectations one should never loose hope and should constantly keep attempting. Every avenger has battles and conflicts outside, but Bruce Banner is the only avenger who not only have conflicts outside the world but also within in the form of hulk.

What can we learn?

With his anger issues, he kept his bellowed people away from him. He always makes sure he doesn’t create problems to his closed one with his anger issues. He is the one who boosts up spirit of Wanda in the last battle.

Being a little stressed is healthy until a certain point as it helps us keep on track with work and deadlines. But too much of stress can create a big mess. Bearing a lot of stress can make you numb and you won’t be able to do much of anything.

People often choose unhealthy tracks to deal with unbearable stress. Food, alcohol and even drugs are used in name of stress relief. Turning to such methods simply takes your problem to a whole new level. These are not healthy ways to treat stress issues and should always be avoided.

Here are 10 tips that would help keep the stress monsters at bay.

1. Deep breathing helps calm down in case of stress or panic attacks.

2. Lie down and for five minutes breath slowly and deeply with hands under your face.

3. Meditation always help calm down. Simply close your eyes and think of positive and good thoughts.

4. Take up yoga and exercise regularly.

5. Always have time for music, art or any hobby that brings content to your soul and calms you down.

6. Try to avoid stressful situations by avoiding work delays and sticking to everyday to-do-list.

7. Avoid over eating or consuming caffeine in name of stress relief. They might provide temporary feeling of calmness but does a permanent damage to body later.

8. Do not miss out on your beauty sleep hours. Stick to sleeping around seven to eight hours each day.

9. Be expressive. Don’t create a bundle of problems inside you. Share them with loved ones and take it out of your system.

10. Smile. Laugh. It’s just one stupid life. Don’t ruin it with stressed up face.

If you are done with such methods and still have issues dealing with your stress or think it is unbearable, there are professionals that deal with such issues known as psychologists. They can help you and make you go through a proper healthy stress-dealing process or treatment.
They stress in us builds up because of our thinking process. If we are the ones to create it then it is in our hands to destroy it too.

"}]
The advantage of being Indian is the proximity to various languages and cultures not just from across India, but also across the world because of our emphasis on learning English. This leaves us open for plenty of exposure to cultures completely new to us thanks to the lingua franca and the fact that, thanks to our diversity, we are more open to knowing about something from other cultures.

What else to showcase a culture other than its music? Therefore, this is a list composed (see what I did there?) of 5 songs from completely different genres that every student must listen to. Curating this list was extremely difficult for a music lover like yours truly, but nonetheless, I think I have arrived upon what, according to me, best encapsulate the fires of a young age through good times and bad from across the world.

And no, there will be no Electronic Dance Music in this list.

1. I Am A Highway by Audioslave

After a brief stint with the 90s grunge rock band Soundgarden, vocalist Chris Cornell went on to form Audioslave at the turn of the millennium. With the band gaining rapid fame thanks to Cornell's earthly voice and fantastically written lyrics combined with strong guitar riffs and drum work, it was only a matter of time before Audioslave would become stuff of legends. This song, I Am A Highway, perfectly encapsulates that.

The song is about overcoming adversity and putting the past behind to move towards change, and considering how many changes a student will go through before they become a fully functional adult in society, it is an extremely important song to remember.

Chris Cornell, sadly, took his own life earlier this year. His contribution to music will never be forgotten.

2. Enthavo by Job Kurian:

Coming back to India, Enthavo, a song written and performed by Kerala's fantastic Job Kurian, is a song about dreams, hopes and the road ahead. I was introduced to this song on stuMagz in fact, when another user wrote and uploaded a story about it not so long ago.

Capturing the vividness of dreams and wishing for something that wasn't there yet is a feeling that all students will identify with, which is why you'll love this song without even understanding the language. There are some feelings that simply do not need words to express.

The video for the song was shot completely with GoPro cameras and is an experience to behold. Check it out below.

3. Reviere by Issac Gracie

This slow and soft song is of the, what I like to call, 'killing you softly' genre. Gracie is an extremely underrated artist that deserves more recognition thanks to his beautiful voice and his choice of lyrics, especially with Reverie. If you've ever been in love, you will understand the pain of the lyrics when you listen to the song.

And let's be honest, everyone in college thinks they've actually fallen in love.

4. Drive Home by Steven Wilson:

It is difficult to choose just one Steven Wilson song for a list with only 5 songs, even more difficult to choose a moderately happy Steven Wilson song. Drive Home is neither his best, nor a happy song to listen to or, in this case, watch.

With students more open to listening to newer experiences in music and a general appreciation of good guitar skills, I just had to include Drive Home simply because of Guthrie Govan's fantastic guitar solo that manages to pull your soul of of your body into space, rip it apart and put you back, a broken person, but a person who has experienced one of the best solos ever made by one of the world's finest artists.

5. Khwaab by Thaikkuddam Bridge:

Another band all the way from Kerala, Thaikkuddam Bridge is a fairly recent band to the Indian music scene, yet they have successfully set fire to every stage they performed on with their absolutely perfect blend of rock with Carnatic and classical music. While most of their songs are in Malayalam, Khwaab, which is sung by two of the very best Ghazal singers from across the country, perfectly manages to bridge the gap between the North and the South, while also bringing their fusion to a wider audience.

I'm not nearly a good enough writer to describe, in ample words, the musical journey you'll go on when you listen to Khwaab. It is simply one of the best songs made in India.

I don't know about you guys, but being born in the early 90s, I was privileged enough to watch some of the greatest Sachin moments live on TV (and sometimes in the stadium), and lucky enough to see him go from a devastating batsman to a legend. I grew up with his legend, his legend being the legend of Indian cricket, the number of people he's inspired, and the sheer amount of skill and style he possesses.

Frankly there aren't novels I'm not willing to write for this man, and I frankly believe we are all lucky to be in the same era as the one where we got to see Sachin set the stadium on fire. So without further ado, let's take a look at his greatest moments.

1. The Desert Storm

India were facing the Australian side that was out for their blood, looking for the first sign to close in and finish the job in a match at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The Aussies had hit a mind numbing 284 (come on guys it was still 1998), and put the pressure on the Indian side who not only needed to win the match, but also keep a decent run rate.

In walked Sachin Tendulkar in what would be the match that made him immortal. On that day, the Aussies saw the full wrath of Sachin's devastating batting. The wickets kept falling but the Bomber from Bombay did not falter, instead he stood tall, hitting the balls out of the park whenever and wherever he could.

Sachin went on to score 143, his momentum not breaking despite a literal desert storm interrupting the match. Shane Warne went on to joke that Sachin's batting on that day still gives him nightmares.

Imagine watching this as a 7 year old child. It was magic on Television, it was like watching all your favourite cartoons come to life, only this was real, and was some of the finest cricket in the sport's history.

2. Demolition at Centurion

The year was 2003, the World Cup's 36th match was slotted for March 1st, 2003, against arch rivals India and Pakistan. The stage was set, as it is with any match up with India and Paksitan, and the nation watched holding their breaths.

Pakistan back then had a lethal bowling line up, helmed by fast bowler Shoaib 'Rawalpindi Express' Akhtar, a bowler that has given even the most skilled batsmen a run for their money. But even he couldn't do anything against the Master Blaster, as Sachin hit boundary after boundary, scoring 98 runs in 75 balls, to deafening roars from the crowds cheering him on. It was one of Sachin's finest moments, pure class cricket and a treat to fans.

The turn of the decade saw many players smash the 200 runs milestone, but the first one to ever do so was none other than the Little Master himself, on February 24, 2010 in Gawilor, against the South African side, and what a blitzkrieg that was.

4. Sachin's first match as an opener

March 27, 1994 is a special day to anyone who calls themselves a cricket lover, as it was the first time we saw Sachin's devastating batting as an opener for the very first time. Having debuted in 1989, it wasn't until 1994 when he opened, after Azharuddin decided to let him open, seeing potential in the young batsman, against New Zealand in Auckland.

That one decision changed the history of cricket forever, as Sachin hit a smashing 82 of 49 balls, kick starting his legend. 5. The 2011 World Cup Final

It was the day India wept, for it was the final match Sachin would play in his ODI career. Mahendra Singh Dhoni had no qualms about talking about how the world cup win was for The God of Cricket Himself, and the emotion, the adrenaline we felt as we watched it unfold, the speech at the end, and the happiness on everyone's faces, it was a day that will not be forgotten as long as there are cricket fans in the world. It was a magical moment, after a career spanning 21 years, 6 World Cups and 635 matches in all forms of the game, the victory lap after the electrifying 2011 World Cup final was pure magic.
