Our generation is both lucky to have that freedom. Lucky because of all the perks we have today we get nearly everything handed on a silver platter.
It's really hard to think that a few decades ago we didn't have any rights. But we do today and there are people even today who cannot get those rights due to either personal reasons or any helplessness. It is the kind of people we need for the progress of our but unfortunately, there aren't many people like that today.
At this point, we need to step forward and make the freedom we have worth it by doing everything in our power for the progress of our country.

txt
Freedom is not something which can be served on a golden platter, while you sit and enjoy. Freedom has to be achieved by working hard constantly and to make others believe in our self. Freedom had a different meaning for me at different stages of my life. Let's start from the time when I had gained enough knowledge about how to eat and walk, without being dependent on others. I would be around 4-5 years of age and at that time freedom meant to eat from different stocks of chocolate available at home, but being stopped because at that time I believed in the monsters who would take away my pearl white teeth's if I ate too much of candies. Next comes the freedom to select my bicycle from a various range of collection, but being said no to the one selected by me because it wasn't safe enough. Then why even give a choice if they disregard my opinions. By this time I have crossed my tenth board with a golden 10 on 10 CGPA. And it was time to select the stream for my further studies. Even after being the 10th batch topper, I was fed up with mathematics and wanted to do nothing with it anymore. But nope, what is the future without mathematics", "are you crazy??", "study without mathematics is like food without salt" these were the few comments when I spoke my heart out concerning the choice of the stream. Finally, I got into the science stream and started the two most dreadful years of my life. I did have fun because I had the company of old batch mates. These years were the years of learning and I live my life with no regrets because I know whatever is happening, it is for a reason. After completing my 12th with 80% I was finally given the freedom to select the branch of my choice in engineering and I took electronics and communication because I felt it was pretty dope. The life of girl has different layers of shackles which bind her to ground, which doesn’t let her fly, pursue her dreams. Freedom for me is to wear whatever I want, wherever I go and do something which I feel that I am good at. I understand that freedom comes along with duties and a set of rules which one should follow to lead a peaceful life, but these set of rules shouldn't stop one from going ahead. Freedom is not drinking in a bar, making out with strangers, for some people it can be but it is their choice and we are no one to question them because we don't know what challenges life had thrown them. Everyone in this world lives in their happy bubble for a while and we as an outsider have no right to burst it. Support them if they fall but do not stop themselves from flying. Until we fall we don't learn. So keep flying , keep falling and keep learning.

txt

Freedom generally means different things to different people. There isn't a way yet in which we can put something as vast as the topic of freedom into one single sentence- to define it. Well, freedom to me means to be able to 'choose' mindfully.

There are instances when people associate the flight of a bird from its cage to be an accurate depiction of freedom regardless of the sense of talk that we try binding 'freedom' into. This fits my bill as well! The thought of being able to 'choose' stimulates a feeling of flying out free, in me.

The word freedom for me encapsulates the need to enable my mind and my body to function solely based upon my 'choices' as long as they do not hurt/harm anybody around me. I believe that most of the situations that we end up facing in life are the consequences of the 'choices' that we make- right from the pairs of socks that shape our look to the government that rules us (or the one that we think we rule under the name of 'democracy').

I would want to elaborate about how choices work in our life, by just taking basic examples out of our fundamental rights.

Primarily speaking, freedom of speech and expression is one of the major concerns when talking about being able to 'choose.' We can 'choose' to express our voices about any event that takes place regardless of whether or not it affects us directly. If we do not want to express, there's no question that would arise in the first place. However, this comes with its own set of obligations which make the whole concept tricky and they, are a story for another day.

We can 'choose' what to study based of on our field of interest, we can 'choose' to practice any profession that would suit our skill-set. Since our field of interest shapes our being- I believe that it's mandatory to have the freedom to choose what reaps our skills best. We can never shine through if we are denied something as basic as this.

Of what I comprehend from our fundamental rights that talk of freedom, they guarantee us- the right to exercise our 'choices' as long as we do not end up harming another person/entity. They allow us to associate or dissociate with groups/people based on our will, we can choose to have peaceful assemblies, we can trot across the country and choose to reside wherever we desire. There's right to freedom of religion, a part of which, allows us to preach, practice or propagate any religion that we 'choose.'

From most of what I've studied about 'freedom' in my Civics textbooks back in schooling, my mind zeroes down on this concept as the 'allowance to choose with thorough mindfulness and fearlessness.'

Ranging from something as minor as being able to choose what we eat (without being lynched); till other major 'choices' in life such as being able to choose our political preferences (without the fear of tags), are also etched in my head as a part of 'freedom.'

This Independence Day, find what makes you feel free and promise yourself to 'choose' to be free.
"}]
We all need freedom and also want freedom to achieve our goals. Yes, freedom is necessary and also we expect more freedom to achieve our goals.

What are these goals?? These goals of our life can be long term or short term goals differing from person's to person's mind. But knowingly or unknowingly there is something ultimate in our life. What is the ultimate in our life?? The ultimate of our lives is being happy or content. Happiness could be by achieving some goal or wish.

In my life.... I fight for freedom to always keep my mind united with my soul. That is... not letting the mind to be under control of false ego, anger and other negative aspects when it is trying to achieve something for happiness .

Our soul is always observing activities performed by us and giving us feedback, whether we are doing a right thing or a wrong thing. And when our mind is listening to soul's judgement it has to think for a right way to achieve it's happiness

If everyone fights for this kind of freedom and if the mind is in control of soul.... there is no need of external fight for freedom as much as possible. Because, there is no chance to disturb others in order to achieve their own happiness.

India can once again be prosperous as 'Rama Rajyam' which is a wish of our freedom fighter 'Gandhiji'

Thankyou.

txt
What is freedom? Have you ever just taken a moment of your day to stop and really think about the meaning of this word? I believe that this word means more than words printed on paper. Freedom is when you are no more under the control of someone. But when you are not under the spell of someone, you should be able to govern yourself. So, freedom according to me is a responsibility.

The great leaders of our nation have put their blood, sweat and tears in making what it is today. Each night they dreamt of an Independent India and every morning they rose with the hope of seeing its people happy. And they have finally muscled it. But they didn't rest there, they have taken a bigger challenge and framed the Constitution of India which gives every individual the freedom they wish for.

Freedom is challenging. In a society, freedom of everyone is interlinked. If one person misuses her/his freedom, it affects the freedom of an innocent. This is how social chaos is created. So it is very important to judiciously use the freedom. Thus, when we demand for freedom we should be prepared to shoulder some responsibility.

Also, absolute freedom is not healthy. Only when we have an speed breaker ahead, we slowdown. Imagine a world where we are allowed to do whatever we want. How would we develop ourselves in such a world? Minimum restraints and hindrances from the society make us grow as an individual.

The way we use freedom builds the trust of people around. Thus, freedom according to me is not an individual affair but a civil responsibility which shapes an individual.
"}]

There is something about Indian children. They are such adorable little BLACK HOLES OF STORIES. The stories are never enough, are they? The only difference is that my parents were also burdened with the creative responsibility of listening to my stories.

Yes, I was a storyteller.

But then, schooling happened and I got the storytelling kicked out of my system pretty soon. But my love for stories and all things fiction prevailed. So I grew up on a regular diet of comic books and cartoons and I always had this idea of epic tales of mythology and mystery, fantasy and science fiction blossoming in the world around us. Tales set in the world of India. For the first time, I felt like I should write something like this. Like most B.Tech graduates, I was working for a software firm for more than 2 years by this time. I should create a re-interpretation of the Thunder God Indra in a modern setting coupled with a hunt for his weapon! Don’t be a sell-out. Create for yourself.

It will be hard work. But it will be satisfying.
