Our country got it's freedom from the clutches of the british colonizers on August 15th 1947. It was a historic day for us. For once in two centuries we were given the power to rule ourselves. For many people August 15th is the Independence day. But it's not the same for me. I think that india is still ruled, ruled by injustice, social evils and a law that needs to be updated. The india we live in today might be a free country with its own government but it is still under the clutches of constant terrorism, domestic abuse, spousal abuse, honor killings, drugs, violence , animal cruelty , outrages, communal fights , gender bias and what not!.
For me india will be truly independent when freedom of speech will actually mean something. When women won't be judged on what they wear, when corruption will not be an issue anymore. When politicians will start doing something good. When the law starts punishing the guilty right away instead of waiting for years, when homosexuality isn't a taboo and homosexuals can marry their loved ones, when women can go out late nights without the fear of being harassed or raped, when people start accepting themselves, when parents let their children do what they like, when communal wars are only read about in history books, when farmers get what they deserve, when government jobs and educational benefits are not given according to casts but given according to merit, when patriarchy is no longer found, when dowry and honor killings are no longer tolerated, when everything is equal that is when india will be independent. That day a new India will be born, that day we will the best amongst all.

txt
I don't wake up to some one shouting. i don't eat a slimey porridge which is not healthy for breakfast. I do not go to work all day for 12 hours straight for almost no money. I don't go and work at some place where i am not willing to be. I do not get beaten for no reason by my superiors. I am not in a position where i do not study what i like. I do not get treated like a slave nor am i shown racism. All these happened to those Indian kids who were under the British rule for almost 200 years. the thing i have and they dont is freedom.... which i choose to respect. Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), a historical achievement for ISRO and India as a whole. The success news of the mission was more of a festival to every Indian, it was such a proud moment that literally shook the whole world and left them with only one expression, WOW! (coincidentally the water image of MOM).

We all sure do know about one of the famous statistics of MOM, the mission cost of $74 million was far less than the budget of many famous movies. Entrepreneurship is a really beautiful ecosystem where contradictory ideas evolve every day. It was in 9th standard when I was fascinated by the concept of entrepreneurship. The collision of perceptions is what I experienced when I tried stepping into the very science of money-making. It all burns down to a very strong weapon which most of you would know as ‘The Human voice’. It can start wars and also bring world peace. While the extremes sound impossible, it is indeed the art of making people listen to what you say that makes one a good entrepreneur. Starting from a Tech-Blog that I named BinaryAdda to sell 100 domains last year is only one side of how a student encourages himself to not go inside a classroom every day and work on something substantial. One can have a great career only if he dares to fail and that’s not just a thought but reality. There are a lot of students who are held back because of inexperience or bad ideology.

txt
rich_1565719535530

When I heard the word freedom it would remain me the story of the birds.

We all knew how birds give birth to their young ones. Unlike humans, they built a home for their young ones first. They gather sticks, grass, leaves, etc, with conscientious and build a shelter that provides a safe, warm, protected from bad weather. They lay eggs and give birth to their young ones. They protect them from predators, raise and teach them in incredibly different ways. Finally, giving them the freedom to fly upon their wings. They won’t judge and restrict them where to fly.

But we humans, we expect a lot for the sake of giving birth…

We build the walls of caste, creed, religion, status and want our young ones to live in those boundaries.

We became selfish; we want our children to act upon what we say to maintain our so-called status in society, whether that could be the case of our children studying higher studies or getting married to the people we choose for them.

Even many friends of mine are not interested in engineering at all and were interested in something else and were just studying to make their parents happy.

In the race of winning egos and social status, we lost the freedom to live ourselves, foolishly still fighting for the minority reservations and freedom for the states.

Our country in independent since 1947, but people's mindsets are still the same. We included the right to freedom in our constitution but haven’t implemented them in our homes.

Yeah we know restrictions are important. As kite needs to be tied down to fly, restrictions can sometimes be in order to experience freedom. But once the kite settled in the air, leave the thread and see up to where it could fly.

One cannot spend their entire life living on someone else’s terms and conditions. They have to be given the freedom to do what they love to do.

Parents have to teach their children rules, regulations, moral ethics until they understand them. Once they learn they had to give them the freedom to fly and follow their passion.

What’s the point of being alive if you don’t at least try to do what you wanted to do. Don’t let someone snatch your freedom and live our life according to your will and wish.
"}]

Freedom is not something which can be served on a golden platter, while you sit and enjoy. Freedom has to be achieved by working hard constantly and to make others believe in our self. Freedom had a different meaning for me at different stages of my life. Let's start from the time when I had gained enough knowledge about how to eat and walk, without being dependent on others. I would be around 4-5 years of age and at that time freedom meant to eat from different stocks of chocolate available at home, but being stopped because at that time I believed in the monsters who would take away my pearl white teeth's if I ate too much of candies. Next comes the freedom to select my bicycle from a various range of collection, but being said no to the one selected by me because it wasn't safe enough. Then why even give a choice if they disregard my opinions. By this time I have crossed my tenth board with a golden 10 on 10 CGPA. And it was time to select the stream for my further studies. Even after being the 10th batch topper, I was fed up with mathematics and wanted to do nothing with it anymore. But nope, what is the future without mathematics", "are you crazy??", "study without mathematics is like food without salt" these were the few comments when I spoke my heart out concerning the choice of the stream. Finally, I got into the science stream and started the two most dreadful years of my life. I did have fun because I had the company of old batch mates. These years were the years of learning and I live my life with no regrets because I know whatever is happening, it is for a reason. After completing my 12th with 80% I was finally given the freedom to select the branch of my choice in engineering and I took electronics and communication because I felt it was pretty dope. The life of girl has different layers of shackles which bind her to ground, which doesn’t let her fly, pursue her dreams. Freedom for me is to wear whatever I want, wherever I go and do something which I feel that I am good at. I understand that freedom comes along with duties and a set of rules which one should follow to lead a peaceful life, but these set of rules shouldn't stop one from going ahead. Freedom is not drinking in a bar, making out with strangers, for some people it can be but it is their choice and we are no one to question them because we don't know what challenges life had thrown them. Everyone in this world lives in their happy bubble for a while and we as an outsider have no right to burst it. Support them if they fall but do not stop themselves from flying. Until we fall we don't learn. So keep flying , keep falling and keep learning.

txt

Freedom generally means different things to different people. There isn't a way yet in which we can put something as vast as the topic of freedom into one single sentence- to define it. Well, freedom to me means to be able to 'choose' mindfully.

There are instances when people associate the flight of a bird from its cage to be an accurate depiction of freedom regardless of the sense of talk that we try binding 'freedom' into. This fits my bill as well! The thought of being able to 'choose' stimulates a feeling of flying out free, in me.

The word freedom for me encapsulates the need to enable my mind and my body to function solely based upon my 'choices' as long as they do not hurt/harm anybody around me. I believe that most of the situations that we end up facing in life are the consequences of the 'choices' that we make- right from the pairs of socks that shape our look to the government that rules us (or the one that we think we rule under the name of 'democracy').

I would want to elaborate about how choices work in our life, by just taking basic examples out of our fundamental rights.

Primarily speaking, freedom of speech and expression is one of the major concerns when talking about being able to 'choose.' We can 'choose' to express our voices about any event that takes place regardless of whether or not it affects us directly. If we do not want to express, there's no question that would arise in the first place. However, this comes with its own set of obligations which make the whole concept tricky and they, are a story for another day.

We can 'choose' what to study based of on our field of interest, we can 'choose' to practice any profession that would suit our skill-set. Since our field of interest shapes our being- I believe that it's mandatory to have the freedom to choose what reaps our skills best. We can never shine through if we are denied something as basic as this.

Of what I comprehend from our fundamental rights that talk of freedom, they guarantee us- the right to exercise our 'choices' as long as we do not end up harming another person/entity. They allow us to associate or dissociate with groups/people based on our will, we can choose to have peaceful assemblies, we can trot across the country and choose to reside wherever we desire. There's right to freedom of religion, a part of which, allows us to preach, practice or propagate any religion that we 'choose.'

From most of what I've studied about 'freedom' in my Civics textbooks back in schooling, my mind zeroes down on this concept as the 'allowance to choose with thorough mindfulness and fearlessness.'

Ranging from something as minor as being able to choose what we eat (without being lynched); till other major 'choices' in life such as being able to choose our political preferences (without the fear of tags), are also etched in my head as a part of 'freedom.'

This Independence Day, find what makes you feel free and promise yourself to 'choose' to be free.
"}]
We all need freedom and also want freedom to achieve our goals. Yes, freedom is necessary and also we expect more freedom to achieve our goals.

What are these goals?? These goals of our life can be long term or short term goals differing from person's to person's mind. But knowingly or unknowingly there is something ultimate in our life. What is the ultimate in our life?? The ultimate of our lives is being happy or content. Happiness could be by achieving some goal or wish.

In my life.... I fight for freedom to always keep my mind united with my soul. That is... not letting the mind to be under control of false ego, anger and other negative aspects when it is trying to achieve something for happiness .

Our soul is always observing activities performed by us and giving us feedback, whether we are doing a right thing or a wrong thing. And when our mind is listening to soul's judgement it has to think for a right way to achieve it's happiness

If everyone fights for this kind of freedom and if the mind is in control of soul.... there is no need of external fight for freedom as much as possible. Because, there is no chance to disturb others in order to achieve their own happiness.

India can once again be prosperous as 'Rama Rajyam' which is a wish of our freedom fighter 'Gandhiji'

Thankyou.

txt
What is freedom? Have you ever just taken a moment of your day to stop and really think about the meaning of this word? I believe that this word means more than words printed on paper.
