Being born a heterosexual male, into a ascendant social group, immediately entitles you to a set of privileges you never signed up for. Countless practices, sexist stereotypes, and normalizations of gender based oppression later, you are rendered incapable of viewing the privilege as separate from yourself, and end up cultivating a combative attitude towards any discussion of gender equality or debunking the toxic culture of carrying privilege. It starts the moment you’re born. If the ‘me too’ movement goes in all the right directions and lights up the cracks and fixes them, then, i am positive that this generation of men are going to evolve into a bunch of grandfathers that can’t even pay all the bills. I’ve seen a ton of people in the last few months- men trying to access to weapons and materials against women in their defence which is mainly because toxic masculinity has contributed in more ways than anyone can imagine. Toxic masculinity doesn’t say ‘kill women’- it says ‘women are out for boys to get them’It says ‘sometimes you have to keep your women in line’. It says ‘it’s none of your business if a man gets drunk and smacks his wife. It is between the man and wife’, and toxic masculinity gives birth to misogyny and patriarchy which basically says- men who report 30 year old sexual assault are brave. Women who report 30 year old sexual assault are liars. It is men being able to pee in public and get away with it and women being demonised just for breastfeeding. It is multitasking women, mothers and wives who handle personal and professional lives being glorified and underpaid because of the glorious glorification for the backbreaking labour. The pattern to be noticed is, women are institution of therapy for men but in a non-consensual way because everything is imposed on women. It is ‘boys will be boys’ will forever scream ‘it’s just the way men are. protect yourself’. Boys are taught that sex is a skill of accusation rather than an act of intimacy and boys in their early teens have sex for sport and wear their bodies as trophies. Toxic masculinity, misogyny, entitlement, gender privilege and patriarchy is an entire culture which screams that consent is a prize not possession. This i believe, is the main reason for the challenges that women are facing. What men don’t get is that if they haven’t directly sexually assaulted a woman, they almost guaranteed to have contributed to the culture by which her assault is normalised by not asking other men to stop their harassment, degradation, catcalling, groping and shaming women for their sexual past. But it’s one hundred percent men’s responsibility to educate other men on how not to be toxic. Toxic men don’t listen to women and that’s the part of why they are toxic. So other men, don’t tell other women you are a good man. Tell other men to how to be be a good man. We can easily prevent this by understanding the semantics of ‘NO’ and accepting rejection. Not requesting again and again to touch, hug or kiss because a woman’s body isn’t a commodity. Emotionally negotiating and manipulating can be very draining and can make anyone furious. sitting back and giving space and respecting each other’s choices will land you in no trouble whatsoever. Impact is always heavier than intentions so apologising and being humble will only make things better. Don’t take a cue and act rather ask away and react. Feeling safe and acknowledged is independence to me.
"}]
WE got freedom 73 years back on the 15th of August after a long Struggle of our great freedom fighters across India. We are here because of their Sweat and blood. We, the proud citizens of India are celebrating FREEDOM. Freedom, what does it actually mean?

TO LIVE UPON OUR OWN TERMS. Is that what we are actually doing? Do I feel free? FREEDOM is a very personal thing. We live in a country where goddesses are worshipped yet women here are treated with disrespect. What freedom means to us?

Freedom is when we can walk alone on the street feeling SAFE.

When we can speak our mind without getting VALIDATION.

When our skirt length does not define our character.

When our complexion, weight, height are not the topic to talk about.

When we can have a large group of friends who maybe BOYS without being LABELLED.

When we can dress up without VALIDATION.

When we are able to choose a career or Be-at-home mom without JUDGMENTS.

I am the needle in the hay.

a single sunray.

I am a mother, a sister, a daughter an nd a friend.

Let's celebrate Freedom with NO Hates, NO judgments, No Validations, NO Labels.

TO live To love To BE US.

THAT’S ALL WHAT FREEDOM MEANS...

Vbit being an autonomous college comfortably rooted at the outskirts of the Hyderabad city has always been witnessing a picturesque vicinity embedded with trees and an aura of a student friendly atmosphere. But not to disregard the conspicuous downside of being situated far away from the city which is perhaps hangout spots and restaurants which are the basically socializing hubs. As enthusiastic an engineering course might be, it is equally important to have a jovial social life for a student. Imagine what a pleasure it is to find out that there is a silver lining after all, the college's unofficial hangout spot is it's canteen which is located right inside the campus not far from the academic blocks. Generally being students, our mentality just after listening to the continuous classes, or mainly once after done with the internal exams or even a small test would be like we have gone through a tough battle! Then after boosting up there comes the thought of - "Dar ke aage jeet hai!" Not about self-realization... I am talking about the Mountain Dew break... Haha...

We rush with a gang of friends to a wonderful and most favorably liked place so-called canteen. But, our SREC canteen is totally special! Freedom is an encouraging expression used when we are free to dance, free to speak, free to do or go where they wish too! To me my freedom means to be able to learn from my mistakes if I didn't have freedom I would have to do what the top authorities tel me to do. I don't have any room for mistakes so it would be harder to learn about life! My freedom means having the time to do right things. No freedom,in this case would mean that I wouldn't have any time for fantastic, clever thoughts. I would have to do things extremely precise and quick .when I don't have freedom ,I am under pressure constantly .while I am under pressure ,it makes it a more stressful life to live in! Everything has been said and written multiple times over the years, about the freedom facing difficulties in their world is natural, but how we deal with it depends on how I have been moulded myself and get ready to take over the world! Our country got it's freedom from the clutches of the british colonizers on August 15th 1947. It was a historic day for us. For once in two centuries we were given the power to rule ourselves. For many people August 15th is the Independence day. But it's not the same for me. I think that india is still ruled, ruled by injustice, social evils and a law that needs to be updated. The india we live in today might be a free country with its own government but it is still under the clutches of constant terrorism, domestic abuse, spousal abuse, honor killings, drugs, violence , animal cruelty , outrages, communal fights , gender bias and what not!.
For me india will be truly independent when freedom of speech will actually mean something. When women won't be judged on what they wear, when corruption will not be an issue anymore. When politicians will start doing something good. When the law starts punishing the guilty right away instead of waiting for years, when homosexuality isn't a taboo and homosexuals can marry their loved ones, when women can go out late nights without the fear of being harassed or raped, when people start accepting themselves, when parents let their children do what they like, when communal wars are only read about in history books, when farmers get what they deserve, when government jobs and educational benefits are not given according to casts but given according to merit, when patriarchy is no longer found, when dowry and honor killings are no longer tolerated, when everything is equal that is when india will be independent. That day a new India will be born, that day we will the best amongst all.

txt
Entrepreneurship is a really beautiful ecosystem where contradictory ideas evolve every day. It was in 9th standard when I was fascinated by the concept of entrepreneurship. The collision of perceptions is what I experienced when I tried stepping into the very science of money-making. It all burns down to a very strong weapon which most of you would know as ‘The Human voice’. It can start wars and also bring world peace. While the extremes sound impossible, it is indeed the art of making people listen to what you say that makes one a good entrepreneur. Starting from a Tech-Blog that I named BinaryAdda to sell 100 domains last year is only one side of how a student encourages himself to not go inside a classroom every day and work on something substantial. One can have a great career only if he dares to fail and that’s not just a thought but reality. There are a lot of students who are held back because of inexperience or bad ideology.

txt
rich_1565719535530

Our education system teaches us how to behave after spending 22-24 years of our lives in a restricted exposure. Passion is a gift that gives one the direction to think, it is the awaken form of dreaming. When I heard the word freedom it would remain me the story of the birds.

We all knew how birds give birth to their young ones. Unlike humans, they built a home for their young ones first. They gather sticks, grass, leaves, etc, with conscientious and build a shelter that provides a safe, warm, protected from bad weather. They lay eggs and give birth to their young ones. They protect them from predators, raise and teach them in incredibly different ways. Finally, giving them the freedom to fly upon their wings. They won’t judge and restrict them where to fly.

But we humans, we expect a lot for the sake of giving birth…

We build the walls of caste, creed, religion, status and want our young ones to live in those boundaries.

We became selfish; we want our children to act upon what we say to maintain our so-called status in society, whether that could be the case of our children studying higher studies or getting married to the people we choose for them.

Even many friends of mine are not interested in engineering at all and were interested in something else and were just studying to make their parents happy.

In the race of winning egos and social status, we lost the freedom to live ourselves, foolishly still fighting for the minority reservations and freedom for the states.

Our country in independent since 1947, but people's mindsets are still the same. We included the right to freedom in our constitution but haven’t implemented them in our homes.

Yeah we know restrictions are important. As kite needs to be tied down to fly, restrictions can sometimes be in order to experience freedom. But once the kite settled in the air, leave the thread and see up to where it could fly.

One cannot spend their entire life living on someone else’s terms and conditions. They have to be given the freedom to do what they love to do.

Parents have to teach their children rules, regulations, moral ethics until they understand them. Once they learn they had to give them the freedom to fly and follow their passion.

What’s the point of being alive if you don’t at least try to do what you wanted to do. Don’t let someone snatch your freedom and live our life according to your will and wish.
"}]
