The ongoing lockdown has bound us all to our homes and this can be quite tricky, as most of us are used to going out for some reason or the other every day. Being in a state of lockdown can potentially affect a person mentally. To address this issue, this webinar is being conducted.

Radhika Acharya is a clinical psychologist who is also an empaneled member of Bharosa by Hyderabad City Police, founder-member of Darshika, an organisation for suicide prevention and also a columnist with many leading newspapers. She will speak on how one can cope up with this ongoing lockdown.
"}]
This lockdown period has had all of us bound to our homes and bound to endless boredom within the four walls of our houses. For a generation that is used to going out most of the time and finding something to do always, this can be a tough time and it is also a tough time to find ways to be productive but Nikhlesh Garnepudy, a musician based out of Hyderabad, has made this music video which talks about how we can really live instead of spending time binge watching series or on social media and actually do something productive. The best part of this video is that he has done it entirely at home, during the lockdown period.
Yes, you read that right. This music video was produced at his home, as he shares, "When this lockdown started, I was also binge watching series online but I was bored of them too and then I realised that many of my friends are actually being productive at their own homes and I decided to make a music video."
Nikhlesh reached out to all of his friends who were making the most of this quarantine period by learning something new at home and felt he should utilise that to make a message-oriented music video. "I always made romantic tracks but after seeing what my friends were up to, I wanted to make a fun, yet message-oriented video so I asked each of them to send me video clips of themselves doing what they were. Among my friends, there is a chef who participated in Master Chef Dubai, there's a makeup artist who is also an instagram influencer, there's an entrepreneur, there are musicians, there's a fitness trainer, etc. All of these shot clips of themselves on their phones and sent them to me," explains Nikhlesh.

Initially, he wanted to write the lyrics himself but later, asked a friend to do it, as he explains, "I started writing the lyrics but I realised it's better if a friend of mine, who is a poet, wrote them. I requested Abhay Kasavaraju, who usually writes in English, to write them and he wrote it in Telugu."
What makes this video unique is the fact that it was made on a zero-budget, entirely on phones. Even the audio was recorded on Nikhlesh's phone. "I recorded the song in my room and prior to that, I recorded the ambient noise in the room and while editing, I removed the ambient noises, like the sound of the building lift, the sound of a bird chirping outside, etc," says Nikhlesh.
This music video, is testimony to the potential that's there in all of us and that is also the message of the video. Kaasepu jeeviddam, let's live, really live!
"}]

An internship is a program which is offered by an employer to employees which may be part-time/full time and for long/short period. The new age concept of an internship is evolved from apprenticeship.

Reasons why an internship is useful in career

1.An internship provides you with the exposure of work experience in real-time world. It helps students to tackles the skill, knowledge and practical approach of which they had learnt in the college. And also we can learn the skills of a particular field and we can gain communication skills, teamwork, and English proficiency are obtained in the internship, which will be a full preparation to enter directly in job after graduation.

2. Many companies offer the job to the interns by which the recruitment efforts of that company decrease. some companies may not offer job after the completion of the assignment but they offer the job when they had any openings or any vacancies.

3. We can make professional connections among our colleagues which will enhance your career opportunities.

4. These allow you to test the specific skills or techniques that you had learned in your classroom before entering into the job. Through which we can find out our mistakes what we do, which would be a problem after joining the job. And also we will come across the environments that are being used in real world.

5. Internships improve our resume weight-age. When you had undergone an internship, then we can convince the employer that you are an asset to the company. We need to list the tasks in the project, which will increase your value.
"}]
Corona, there's a new word that's being used so much, being talked about so much. In fact it is all that people are talking about.
To date, we've had over 7 lakh cases that have been tested positive, resulting in at least 35,000 deaths, but also 80,000 of these being into recoveries.

When combating, it is very essential to know who or what you are fighting/dealing with:

The best and most effective way of doing this is: RESEARCH

So, we go about collecting information, systematically analyzing and verifying it,then consolidating it to figure out the best approach.

The following contains only the statements made or verified by either WHO (World Health Organisation) or CDC(Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).

1.The Novel Coronavirus seems to have been originated from Wuhan, China, late last year spread rapidly wide across the globe.Through international travels to and from China, and coming into contact with people already infected with that particular strain of virus causing them to be infected or be put at risk of infection.

2."For every diagnosed COVID-19 case, 5-10 people are thought to be carrying it around, silently infecting others,"- according to a March 16 study in the journal Science

3.With the sudden onslaught of a massive number of cases being tested positive all around the world, set the beginnings of a pandemic in motion.

4.This Coronavirus has severely impacted China, Italy, Spain, UK and such with debilitating consequences and devastating losses. The United States now has the most number of registered cases of COVID-19 despite a national emergency being declared by President Trump.

5."It was stated that anyone below the age set of 60, that being the children and young adults are less likely to suffer the most severe consequence or to die from COVID-19 than older people are.
There is this belief in some young adults that people their age don’t really get sick from SARS-CoV2, the virus that causes COVID-19, or that if they get infected they will at most have mild symptoms. But in recent weeks, it’s become clear that the millennials are at just as much risk of contracting the infection."-(citations from medium, and harvard.edu)

6.The COVID-19 can be identified by following markers:cold, cough, fever(milder cases),and respiratory issues Pneumonia, trouble breathing.(more observed in the elderly or people with underlying conditions like High BP, Hypertension, Heart Problems and such)

Also, people showing similar yet milder symptoms of this disease are only tested if:
1.They have come into contact with a positive tested person

2.Have traveled internationally to a COVID hotspot

3.Have come in close contact with an international traveler.

The COVID-19 has been categorized into 4 stages

1.Imported cases: international travelers

2.Local transmission: coming into immediate contact of a positively tested person

3.community transmission: when a person with zero travel history develops the infection through domestic sources.

4.When the disease is declared as an epidemic.

India's right now only at the second stage i.e., local transmission but it is edging onto the brink of the third stage, which implores us to tread cautiously. At the moment there are 1000 plus positive cases reported in India. To slow the spread 21 days lock-down has been announced by the Prime minister, with all domestic and international transport facilities(trains, buses, flights) being suspended.
Schools, colleges, restaurants, offices have been shut down to further reduce the chances of local and community transmission and to avoid having an epidemic on our hands.

Steps that contribute to not just our safety but our neighbors too:

1.Social distancing: seeing as this virus, travels through contact, this is our best way of reducing the risk of infection. The virus isn't just floating around in the air, any sick person sneezing/coughing and you passing by them, exposes you to the infection. For the virus to enter your system, it needs to enter through mucous filled membranes, like eyes, nose, mouth.

As the incubation period for the virus is placed between 2-14 days, you could be around and an infected person not knowing it, which makes the social distancing aspect,i.e., maintaining 6 feet distance from a very necessary precaution.

2.Following best hygiene practices: making sure your home's as clean as possible, washing hands with soap and water(or a sanitizer with 60% alcohol)frequently, avoid touching the face, especially the mouth, nose, and eyes.Eat home-cooked meals, wash up quickly and thoroughly when you come home.

3.No panic buying and hoarding: what with media's flair for dramatism, and 1000 kinds of WhatsApp forwards blowing up your phone every day,it is only adding to mass hysteria among people. Resulting in people bulk buying masks, surgical and N95. The CDC has stated that a person who's healthy and is not in contact with a sick person, doesn't truly need a mask, but people are buying it out of fear risking infection, resulting a shortage of medical equipment to healthcare professionals who actually need it.

There are also myths, widespread rumors, that need to be debunked like:

i.drink water every 15mins of the day, sure it keeps you hydrated and your throat doesn't dry up and result in cracks for the virus to enter through, but it is not a sure fire-way of escaping the virus.

ii.gargling with saltwater won't kill the virus, it only provides your sore throat some relief.

iii.conspiracy theories like: This was predicted in a show already, or it is a laboratory engineered bio-nuclear weapon targeting some countries.

4.Self isolation: if you're showing signs of sickness, or are tending to the sick, it is very necessary for you to avoid direct contact with people. We should limit going out, make fewer trips for groceries, stock up on 2-3 weeks worth of essentials, but not hoard them and be mindful of touching common public surfaces like door handles, elevator buttons, etc.,

Take this time, and appreciate it by spending it home with your loved ones, or by cultivating new hobbies like cooking, painting, or working out at home.

For our safety lies in our hands and in the comfort of staying home.
"}]

Most of the people had listened the word Hackathon where people collaborate to develop a hardware/software product by the end of it. In this people will be sharing their ideas. The reasons why people participate in a hackathon or what do you gain from hackathon are

1. Networking: In hackathons peoples will be coming from different places and different background. It will be a great opportunity to make professional connections with them. The companies that are attending will try to connect the attendees. There will be a chance that you may be called for an interview for that company. Often people attend the hackathons for making good connections and for recruiting and project purposes.

2. Passion: Few people will be attending for their passion or to work on the project where they are very much passionate. Hackathons will also be conducted based on a particular theme such as education, non-profit organizations, photography, music, or civic/government, networking, etc.

3. Win: Some People will attend the hackathon to win the prize money who will be mostly very ambitious.

4. Startup: Most of the hackathons would be providing the incubation to start up a company based on our project. The companies that are attending will be interested to invest in your startup and also there will be few companies that purchase the project.

5. Experience: Few will be attending for experience the competition or to know the current trends in the market of their field.

"}]
We are entering into a room where a man is lying down on his bed, who is suffering from a deadly disease, who is going to leave this world in few minutes, he called upon his commanders and asked for 3 death wishes which are to be fulfilled after his death they were ,1st "My coffin should be carried by the doctors alone who treated me", 2nd "My treasury, all precious jewels and money should be given away to people while my coffin is being travelled from them",3rd "My both bare hands should be visible outside from my coffin",His commanders assured him of accomplishing his wishes but they asked why?what is the reason behind this wishes?,then he explained to them from his 1st wish “Unless until you take care of your health, no specialist or doctor gonna increase your age, don’t take life for granted and be healthy always!!!,2nd I have travelled my entire life chasing down money leaving out family and country alas! Our mind is similar to that of the computer which is programmable i.e., we train or mold us in a right or wrong way. A Strong mind will take its own decisions but when we come to a weak mind it a decision but does the other one which may be wrong. Every time we make decision that we should a particular thing from tomorrow but when the time comes, we may forget or postpone. This is because we had an unstable mind. When we read about any great personality, they achieved success because they had a stable and quality mind not because of any luck. If you want to achieve something or get successful, we need to stabilize our mind.

There are many ways to attain stable mind and increase concentration. Any object can be used as basis for concentration. For example, we consider a bag in our mind should get a clear imagination of that i.e., whether it is a school bag or laptop bag or travelling bag and also what is the color of the bag. Once our mind gets the perfect image then we can concentrate on the object and this should happen spontaneously. Not only by imaging an object but also there are other ways like listening to a particular thing or by repeating a word continuously.

Concentration gives us a great power to design our future, set the goals of our life, relaxed mind. We can also know about ourselves in depth.

"}]
I once heard someone say that you could either be an English person or a Mathematics person; you just cannot be both. And I sourly had to agree to that statement in my head because I knew my English was good but I also just did not want to admit that my Mathematics wasn’t as good. I understood most concepts and could go through with their applications but as it got complex, I wouldn’t be so interested anymore to delve into the depths to find the solution.
I would’ve had accepted my mathematical mediocrity long back but the fact that people base other’s intelligence on how good they are at Mathematics just got on my nerves; and it became more important for me to get better at it to prove myself to them.
With this continuous struggle, I finished my 10th standard and now was on the crossroads of choosing a subject stream for the next two years of my life. At this stage, research was an eminent part where I would consider all the occupations in this world and shortlist them based on some crucial and some trivial reasoning. I was for sure not interested in Biology as a career path and so after much brainstorming I decided to take up Mathematics and Computer Science as my core subjects. Mathematics - because I supposedly had to prove something to someone and Computer Science - because computers always fascinated me anyway.
With this choice, I stepped into an intriguing yet sophisticated world of binary numbers, Boolean values, classes, functions and objects! It was programming that I had discovered and suddenly all the occupations that I had been researching all the while seemed less significant. Programming was something that was present in every sector of this world and in every occupational field. Programmers were basically running this world with their dexterous coding skills. And now I suddenly had the urge to prove to myself that I could do this. I wanted to be a Coding person now.
Surprisingly enough, I didn’t have to struggle a lot, maybe because I had found my passion or maybe my brain had saved itself from the clutches of Calculus just so that it could dedicate itself to ‘dear coding’. Either way, I gulped down into my system every word that was taught to me and became as sincere of a student as I could. Every class would teach me how much control I had as a programmer, just like a writer can kill a character, revive it or paint the canvas entirely differently, I could do the same as a programmer- if I had the right tools. The right tools were problem solving, grammar of coding and most importantly the interface.
Almost two years passed and while everyone was looking for a partner to pair up with for the final project in Computer Science I insisted on working alone. Never because I was haughty but I just wanted to do my thing my way and declared the same to my very appreciative professor. After I was given permission to work alone, within 3 weeks I had successfully created an elaborate program that introduced a newly built city. It allowed users to access its details such as photos, addresses, future plans etc. You could look up for renting houses, buying lands or even getting your children admitted to schools and make required payments as well. It had plenty of additional features and one of them was a feature to gift property to your loved ones (I didn’t know better).
Soon after, the day I presented my program to my professor, she had a glint of pride in her eyes and very delightedly announced me as her ‘favourite student’! That day, I was really pleased with the tag but I also realized that I had been already beaming with happiness before she even said anything to me. This only pointed towards the fact that I didn’t do this to be called a Coding Person anymore. I did this because I loved it and I was driven with passion. I found the error that was lingering inside me and finally debugged it. I found that my strength was coding and as I write this I also realize that, you can be both an English person and a Computer Person and that’s what matters to me.

-Asma M.
