Finally, after almost an year I got some time and content to write amidst ongoing placements. But, this is something worth sharing that happened on 13th August 2019. A company came to conduct placements on 12th and the process continued till 13th since the number of candidates was huge. I knew the process will take time but I didn’t expect that it will last till 10 PM. It felt like that the interviewers were going to make us celebrate Pakistan’s Independence day. By 9 PM I was done with the TR, HR and documentation and then I left for home with my friend. We were returning on my bike and were enjoying the night ride.

My college is located in Dundigal. When we were some 4-5 kms away from the college, I saw one of my bus mate along with her friend. They left the college the same time when we left. It seemed they were waiting for some auto or bus. I never talked to that bus mate ever in the past 3 years. But, I don’t know what went in my mind and we stopped near them. And for the first time I talked to her; rather I asked her that how they were going home. She replied that they have booked an auto and would be going to Suchitra via Kompally. I don’t know what went in my mind but I said that I will accompany them till Kompally (since I stay near Kompally). She said there is no need to do so, but still I said that I will accompany them.

After some 10 minutes their auto came and we all left together. On the way, my friend was praising me for that and was complementing me that I am apt for a career in Uniform (which is my Aim) and I was like, “Bas kar pagle, Ab rulayega kya!”. We were about to reach Kompally from where my friend had to board RTC and those girls had to move towards Suchitra. I was moving parallel with the auto. Neither did she call me nor did I, but still our eyes moved towards each other at the same moment and we waved each other saying Good Bye.

txt
rich_1565848502953

It’s is still unexplainable to me that why I stopped that day, why I waited with them and why I decided to accompany her. What is freedom for you? Just a topic to be discussed on independence day? Or something which you find better on some pages?

But for me, Freedom is just like the running blood in your veins; without which you are just a body with flesh! \r

For me, Freedom is to love my own self, whether my complexion is fair or dark, whether My body shape is just slim like a hourglass or a healthy like a cute Panda! Whether I am short or tall, intelligent or dumb or someone who doesn’t fit in the definition of an ideal person in the so-called ‘Indian society’, I own my ownself! Nobody else, except I can define my boundaries and limits to dream and love myself! \r

The day, one starts loving the differences in your own body, trust me, you have boarded the train called ‘FREEDOM TO LIVE’.\r

For me, Freedom is giving voice to my opinion whether on the dias of the college or the platform of life! Whether my opinions are in support of law 377 or its about choosing my dreams over others expectations, I have the freedom to express through words and actions! \r

The day, I would realise that wearing short shirt is no more freezing the men’s eyes on my legs, my ‘out-of-the-way’ dreams aren’t becoming a burden on the society, my late night parties isn’t a gossip item for kitty parties, the day when feminism will be actually preached and supported by men ; that would be a true FREEDOM for me! \r

Lastly, it’s always better to fight as a warrior in your own freedom war, rather than being just a victim! \r

Sincerely,\r

An Indian Girl! \r

For a teenager like me, it always means "free to do whatever I want" either in a right or in a wrong way just do it . But is that really what freedom means? Have you ever thought about the meaning of freedom?

To me, freedom means to be able to learn from my mistakes. No freedom would mean guidance from the top authorities, which would leave no room for mistakes making it all the more difficult to learn about life. Freedom also means having the time to do things right. Without freedom, it would mean that I wouldn’t have any time for fantastic, clever thoughts. I would have to do things extremely precise and quick. When I don’t have freedom, I am under pressure constantly. One last example of what freedom means to me is being able to do many things without being forced into doing anything. No freedom means that I might have to enlist in the army reluctantly.

I might even be forced to quarter troops and watch them take over my home! If I didn’t have freedom, I might have to get married at a young age and start a family which I have no intention of doing at my age. Is Independence Day only the nation's leaders unfurling the Tricolour? Singing national anthem? Slogans? Parades? Competitions? Unfortunately, entangled in our hectic schedule, we are no longer able to be at a parade or sing the national anthem unless attending an Independence Day function. So what does Independence Day really mean?

Independence means to be free and able to make decisions on your own. Independent India faced some problems which were unprecedented. For me, freedom is the basis of our lives, because it allows us to aspire for and achieve greatness.

txt

Remember the time when we were all exhilarated when the peon used to enter the classroom with a notice, interrupting a boring lecture, and the teacher shouts out the notice loud which says “INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS” and everyone shouts in elation looking forward to the esteemed day with all pump and show. The white uniform with the Indian flag pinned on top of the pocket on the left side of our white shirts, the drums beating with a rhythm which I am sure is still ringing in your head when you think about it, the beautiful performances that excited us. It was such a cheerful day. The chief guest unfurls the flag making the petals wrapped in it fall slowly and the flag sores high in the sky and all the students standing with pride gazing in awe at the alluring flag. And then the national anthem is sung which brought out the patriotic spirit within us. But then, slowly years pass and as we grow up and fall in the rat race of life. We get busy as a beaver. Now, Independence Day is being sloppily surpassed as another holiday of our yearly calendar. It is yet another day where we spend the day lazing around or spend the day shopping or watching a movie with friends. We are forgetting the essence and spirit of celebrating Independence Day. We are forgetting that it is our duty and responsibility that we pay our respects for the sacrifices that were made by our great freedom fighters. -Mahatma Gandhi

Oppression of the mind is the worst humiliation a person can face. Being oppressed, first by the Mughals, and then by the Europeans, Indians have encountered mortification of the worst kind, leading to the need for freedom fighters.

Influential people like Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Abdul Kalam Aazad, Rani Lakshmi Bai, and Sarojini Naidu are a few among other prominent figures who stood the frontiers to shoo away the oppressors. The days were long and the will for freedom stronger. They all had one motive which prompted them to hold on for the attainment of freedom.

Movements like the Swadeshi Movement, Non-Cooperation Movement, and the Civil Disobedience Movement saw the masses coming together for the struggle to free India. One demand from the freedom fighters ushered to the final movement, the Quit India Movement, which insisted on the cessation of the British rule in India. At last, a new wave of freedom swept the nation, without a single effort in vain. All the struggle was worth the fight, and we are still adamant about making India a better place.
"}]

FREEDOM. What does it mean? Well, the dictionaries have more than one meaning-liberty, sovereign,independant......the list goes on. Freedom is something that we consider to be a right. It is power. It is something that we all need and strive for.

The feeling that we have when we get rid of a truckload of work, the feeling of just relaxing in one's own balcony with a hot cup of coffee, the feeling that we get when we are done with a huge project or an important exam...sounds so good, doesn't it? To some of us, this feels like freedom

But, to me, Travelling is just another form of freedom. It helps me to explore the wonders around the me-a drive to the new gaming zone a few miles from home or the Statue of Liberty in New York.

I learn a lot from travelling-culture, history, food, the the the the tradition of different places. Its much ish is easier to learn about a place when you pay a visit instead of just reading about it.I've seen Taj Mahal trust more beautiful than in pictures. The marble work is just...Wow!Would you be able to see all that in your history textbooks Travelling has given me that kind of freedom?

Ever wondered how blue the ocean looks or how fast a river flows? Ever thought about how it feels to be surrounded by sand around you without any disturbance around? Ever experienced the rumbling sound of an old jeep being your only companion know to you in inning deep forest? Ever wondered how gorgeous everything looks from the top of the hill or how good snow feels under your feet on the mountains? Ever wondered how things on earth look like when you peep through the plane's window? One can experience all of the above by travelling and it has given me the right to marvel the gifts nature has given to us.

The freedom to understand how nature works is what I got by travelling. Imagine a cluster of tall buildings glowing in the night and touching the dark sky. Sounds inspiring to me. This scene is a motivation for people like me to work harder every day- to build myself professionally in order to work in the tallest building amongst all in the city. Travelling has motivated me -it has given me the opportunity to feel how independence feels.

To be frank, travelling has given me more than just freedom. It has given means of satisfaction of being myself and helped me in discovering who I am. It has given me the opportunity to create a lot of memories. After all, these memories are the ones that matter, not the number of textbooks that we have read(not that they don't matter:))

To me, travelling is just another synonym to freedom.

I travel as much as I can to know about myself and know about myself is my right to freedom.

Travelling is the best way to invest in as it is a fun way to learn.
