Before getting into the article here are three key points to you have to keep in mind:

1. I am not a professional writer. So my grammar can give you cancer.

2.I still feel complicated to use punctuations. please ignore if there are mistakes.

3. This article is not to hurt any people sentiments and written as my country gave me a fundamental right of "Freedom of speech and expression".

Moving into the article.

I still remember the day when I used to play in my dad's factory with various kinds of rocks because he was into marble and granite business. Back then archaeology books and history channel were my only hangouts and as usual, like every other human being, I started to feel that I will make my career in archaeology and like many scientists I would get a chance to discover something. But I forgot I was born in India and in a middle-class family and above all my dad could not succeed in his business(which was not related to archaeology but my family thought it was) that means the whole blood line is not going into that business again. As a son, I was left with no option but follow them to have a peaceful(no) life. Apart from that my family never restricted me to anything. I started sipping whisky with my dad and used to speak about my love life to my mum (Even though they are judgemental). I moved on because what else I can do. Neither I was financially capable of leaving the house and above all, in India, you have to wait till 18 to do anything(even after that there will be no change). Then I thought I would become a CA or do a degree write Civil's. But life had other plans for me I guess because one of our family members tried doing CA but failed that clearly says that I have failed without giving my exam (judgemental shit). So CA plans ended in vain. Moving on, I was pushed to do MPC even though I was poor at maths and I never liked it. As we are given a statement that "2 years and you will have a clarity" before me whole family had a fixed clarity of how I have to lead my life. I was being stupid thinking that I can come out of this and I can persuade my parents. But when you try it you get to see a new phase of your parents. The emotional one which makes you left with no option rather than taking it (Still happens).

When I am typing this I realise that it wasn't my parents or society mistake. It was my mistake and what to do when the whole society is mocking you saying that what I was doing was WRONG. If it was now then I would have said " Million people are wrong? yes, they are wrong". In all this chaos you feel like sharing this with any person or friend and you expect them to listen. But it ends up me listening to their shit rather than they understanding mine.

Joined engineering which was the only thing I don't want to in Life (still I am doing it). Even though it is suffocating. People have a very bad habit of not understanding why it suffocates to do something which you don't want to do. Because they are already doing it by leading their lives as per society and family guideline which made me left with no option but to endure just like my past 19 years.

Every time I decide with utmost courage and confidence to take a path and lead a life either I get deceived or forced to see all the adjacent paths around me. In this process " I forgot the road I have to go" Because sign boards are man made not nature given.

One thing I realised in life is that when we are passionate about something we have to go for it even if we fail or we are faced with any situation. If we give up, the world is waiting for us to get you into their way and show you as an example of failure to the whole upcoming generations as you couldn't achieve it. So people who feel they want to do something in life don't listen to anyone you may look arrogant but there is the whole world trying you to get trapped.

Love your passion constantly because even if you fail you will have a hope to persuade your failure and again get back onto your road. If you stop or leave the road. I leave it to your imagination of how your life would be.

The importance of listening extends far beyond academic and professional settings. Understanding how to practice good communication even in your day to day life, among friends, family, and significant others, is important for a number of reasons: fostering good self-esteem, maximizing productivity, improving relationships, and even becoming a better speaker.

Picture this: someone is speaking to you, expressing their thoughts carefully for you to understand. You wait for the breaks in the conversation, when you think they’ve finished talking, and then you interrupt with your own piece of information or repeat what was just said. “Oh, I know just how you feel,” you say, or “I had the same thing happen to me. Let me tell you about it!”

You fail to listen. You create your own ideas. You miss the message and the opportunity to understand. It’s about your agenda, not theirs. Have you ever experienced this?

Often, you think you’ve understood what was said, but the reality is that you spent the whole time formulating a reply and forgot to actually listen. Arguably, listening is the most difficult skill in communication, and we’re getting worse at it.

Let’s face it, we’re not going to agree with everything everybody says. That is part of life, and we need to accept it. Instead of falling into traps like confirmation bias and competitive listening, let’s try to concentrate on understanding by becoming a little more empathetic when we listen.

Here are some suggestions.

txt
rich_1489928996395

1. Open your mind to what is being said. Don’t judge, just listen. If you have a problem focusing, repeat what is being said in your mind.

2. Forget the details and listen for the big picture. It’s important to get the overall point of the conversation first. Statements can be easily misunderstood, especially when they differ from your own opinions and cause you to listen competitively.

3. Don’t interrupt until the other person has finished speaking. You can always ask the speaker to repeat himself or herself, but do it in between sentences.

4. Don’t jump to conclusions. Let the speaker articulate his or her point of view completely. This will give you time to think it through before formulating a response.

Remember, it’s perfectly OK to disagree with someone, but you need to first understand their message. Ask yourself why their message may be true and what circumstances would make it true. Asking this will put you “in their shoes,” so to speak, and will make it more challenging to argue with them.

In summary, most of us have never been taught to listen, so it’s really not our fault. Effective listening is skill-based and must be learned and practiced. You must approach listening with a positive attitude and the intent to understand the other person completely. This paradigm is completely different from the usual paradigm. It gets you within the other person’s reality. You put yourself in it so that you can see things the way the other person sees them and understand the way they feel. Your reply will then come from a basis of complete understanding.
"}]

1. Understand what you're studying.

Rote learning will not get you to score a good percentage; it isn't helpful in most cases because it fails to cause you to think and analyze. The latter two skills are important for being able to apply your knowledge to new problems.

~Write short notes or a summary of what you've studied.
~ Read out loud.
This can help to sharpen your understanding, as you are listening as well.
2.
Create doubts.
Ask yourself questions about the content of the chapter. Did you agree or disagree with it? What would you explain differently and why? What about the work you're studying is confusing or seems at odds with other information you know?
~ Ask your teachers, lecturers, professors about your doubts.
~ Such discussions can help cement the concepts deeply in your mind.
3.
Use videos to enhance your learning and understanding.
Watch videos on YouTube based on the same topic that you're learning. While watching videos, aim to picture the concepts and elements in your head.
~ Crash Course is one good source of videos useful for learning.
~ Take notes of anything you don't understand or didn't remember, so that you can go back over these things after.
~ Add notes from the video.
4.
Study with a friend.
Studying with friends makes the job seem easier and not so tedious. Just make sure that the friend you study with will actually help you, not just play around and waste your time. If you can, take a little time to explain certain things that you are studying to your friend, or have them quiz you on the things you need to learn. You'll be more likely to cement the facts in your head and recall them for the exam.
5. Use mnemonics to help you remember key concepts.
Mnemonics are simply memorization techniques that can help you while you're studying. You can use acronyms to help you, chaining ideas together, or keywords (especially helpful for languages).
Acronyms: this is basically a combination of letters, each of which stands for an idea that you will need to remember.
Chaining creates a story where each word or idea you have to remember cues the next idea that you have to remember.
Keywords: for each foreign word you have to remember, pick an English word that sounds like it.
6. And most Importantly Stay positive!
If you visualize a successful outcome, you'll be more likely to actually have a successful outcome, than if you're neutral or negative in what you say about how well you're going to do on the exam. Tell yourself that you will do great. Be confident and don't lose hope.

"}]
~ Read out loud.

For the fourth year engineering student from IIT Hyderabad, Sagar Kaniche, and his team-mate Yash Sadhwan, coding was always a more of a sport than something that you sit in a class and study for. And this attitude towards coding is what led them to win the CodeVita 2017, bagging the top prize of $10000.

txt
rich_1489833827012

Conducted by Tata Consultancy Services, CodeVita is one of the biggest coding competitions in the world, with the 2017 edition of the competition receiving 2,60,000 registrations from more than 3000 colleges. Out of these entries, 46,418 teams made it to the first round and after two gruelling rounds, 15 teams made it to the final phase of the contest. These 15 teams then competed against each other for six hours, solving coding problems that tested their technical knowledge and creativity and one team -comprising of Sagar Kaniche and Yash Sadhwan- from IIT Hyderabad, made it to the top and bagged the first prize.

txt
rich_1489834209656

"I started taking part in competitive coding when I was in my 2nd year and since then, I've actively been participating. I took part in CodeVita last year also but obviously didn't win it, and that's why we put in more efforts this year," says Sagar, who is studying computer science. He and Yash had to solve 10 algorithmic problems which had to give a certain output within a timeframe. "We had to build programs to solve algorithmic problems, like choosing candidates in an interview, scheduling, choosing shortest paths, etc. The programs we built, had to take the input and give the output within 1 second; that was one of the parameters of the competition," he explains.

txt
rich_1489834481532

"It is through coding competitions that I became friends with Yash. He and I are classmates but ever since we started taking part in competitive coding, we hit it off really well. We even travel together a lot and though I have Infero, a group of competitive coders from my college, I wanted Yash to be with me on this because of our chemistry together," shares Sagar, adding, "We love travelling together. Last year, we went to Goa and the North Eastern states. Right now, just after this, Yash went to Manali."

He plans on joining Microsoft after finishing his graduation, as he was just placed there.
"}]
