These are the people who live forever in memories of many individuals, and people call them ENTREPRENEURS. 

                 One person among them who stays as a legacy in the heart of every student of GPREC is our beloved founder, late Shri G. Pulla Reddy (Gunampalli Pulla Reddy). He was one among those persons who led very simple and disciplined life. His discipline and dedication towards work helped him to establish a name brand.

                 Mr. G. Pullareddy was born on 12th of August in 1921. He was an ordinary student in his school at gokavaram and studied up to 5th class. After that he came to Kurnool and joined as a worker in the house of Mr. Kasireddy Venkata Reddy , who was one of his relatives. In the mean time he got married to Smt Narayanamma. His earning was not sufficient for the family so he asked for increase in salary which was not granted for him so he started selling tea. In the course of time he was able to earn sufficient income for decent living. Life went well for few days then, he started to sell sarees in the city of Kurnool with an initial investment of 240 rupees .He was successful in that and having his friend as partner he stared a boutique but finally it was closed and he happened to bear losses due to some reasons. Finally on the advise of Mr K. Venkata Reddy he started a sweet shop in the Kurnool city. Due to his strong will, determination and strong business policies he was able to amplify his business and establish a brand among sweet producers. 

His Business Principles were : 

• Buy your raw material on your own.

• Treat your workers as yourself and provide them with the food what you eat. 

• After preparing sweets, you test them , if they are not tasty don’t sell them. 

• Don’t judge the customer based on his appearance.

  • Provide your customer with small incentive (Extra of 50 gms) and make them happy. 

• Be clear and honest to your customer, don’t ever try to deceive them. 

                   These business principles and his dedication towards work made his sweets famous not only in the state of Andhra Pradesh and in India but also out of the country. His sweet shops were established in different countries. 

Brief Description of His Achievements: 

• 1948 – Establishment of sweet shop in Kurnool. 

• 1954 – Supplying sweets to Raj Bhavan. 

• 1957- Establishment of sweet shop in Abids in Hyderabad. 

• 1974- Appointed as Sangh Chalak in RSS. 

• 1975- Founded G. Pulla Reddy Charitable Trust. 

• 1980- Elected as President of Vishwa Hindu Parishath 

• 1980-Elected as President of Samskrita Bhasha Prachara Samiti. 

• 1985-Establishment of G. Pullareddy College of Engineering 

• 1985-Elected as President of Ganesh Utsav Samiti of Hyderabad

 • 1990-Treasurey of All India Vishwa Hindu Parishath. 

Some of Awards and Honors received by Him :

 • Honored by the title ‘ Dana Guna Bhushan’ 

• Received Bajaj Award in 1992 

          After establishment of Pulla Reddy Charitable Trust, he started many educational  institutions and hospitals . He used to say money used for right cause adds more value to it.

          Finally we can say that he was a man of simplicity, hard work, determination, dedication , who proved that these are the qualities which any person really needs if he wants to win the game of life. Moreover he is a perfect entrepreneur to learn from.
