As a student, I always ponder on education system in our country. A few questions of mine are left unanswered but I didn't give up questioning. I am sure most of you, nope! All of you often think of such questions, may be with a different perspective.
“Who is wrong? The system or the student?
“Why am I learning this?”
“Dude, Nice topic ! How about the application part of it?”
“If I don’t get into IIT, am I not worth being an engineer?”
“Am I not fit to be a doctor if my EAMCET rank is not below 200?”
We are being trained to go to schools and colleges for financial security in future. Is that all we require? Society defines success as “Getting into good schools. Scoring high grades. Earning huge sum.” Given a chance, you and I can redefine success. Sadly, Unfortunately, we will never get a chance. All we know about education is “A well-established business that always runs on profits but fails to touch lives.”
Rendering unlearnt graduates is like marketing a brand with no quality. Brands here are NITs, IITs, IIMs etc. We always had two options, change or accept. We chose the latter since protests and feedbacks never helped because every time someone tried to correct faculty, they turned egoistic reducing the marks hence low CGPA. Facing parents, relatives and Society with low CGPA is always a tough task.
*The only mathematics I learnt was ‘Top grades + finest college + Good Package = Awesome Life’
*The concept of science they made me understand was ‘Evolution = no money to some money to more money to only money”
What is wrong with the system?
*The combinations are limited. What if a student likes Biology, Economics and Mathematics? Man, BEM never existed !
*Brilliants are the ones with good CGPA.
*Teachers encourage rote memorization and aptitude is just a part of standardized testing.
*There are no concepts only ‘important answers’
*The system doesn’t realize the fact that ‘not all experienced faulty members teach well.’
What is wrong with the students?
*Doing work on time is always a dream.
*Exam means ‘One night study code.’
*Studying just for the sake of getting a degree.
*Bunking classes when lecturer says the concept is important.
*Prefer canteen over classes.
*Blame faculty for scoring less.
*Some aim to be 9 pointers while some others aim for cut-off marks.
You cannot put in your mind and heart if you don’t like what you’re doing. Choosing wisely the subjects you like and you think you are good at makes all the difference. If you’re an aspiring artist, then don’t get messed up in an engineering college. If you’re an aspiring writer, then dude, medicine is the not the right thing to do. If you’re a footballer, then nothing but a football court serves your purpose. You may not earn well or don’t become popular if you take the road that’s not taken, but you fill your basket with extreme happiness, immense satisfaction, true zeal, creative ideas, unbound thoughts which are just PRICELESS. Never to forget, Choice is yours !
Not blaming or complaining, just reacting !
