If we take a look on the calendar, there is at least one occasion or festival of national importance to celebrate in every month, except the month of July. Though there is no occasion for a holiday in the month, but there is one date that we all should remember & celebrate; 26th July. On this day 19 years ago in the year 1999, the Indian Armed Forces got victorious over Pakistan In the “battle of KARGIL”.

1532623542928
txt

The war took place in the Kargil district of Kashmir valley along the Line of Control (LOC) at a height of 18,000 feet. The cause of the war was the infiltration of Pakistani soldiers disguised as Kashmiri militants into the Indian side of the LOC. On 3rd May, 1999, some local shepherds noticed some activity in the mountains of Kargil area and informed the Indian Army. They reported presence of some heavily armed people building posts and occupying bunkers thereby. Thus, the Indian Government responded with Operation Vijay, a mobilisation of several troops & regiments of Indian Army & Paramilitary forces, including several squadrons of the Indian Air Force. The total number of soldiers involved was close to 30,000.

Indian Navy launched Operation Talwar to block the Karachi port during Kargil war to cut off supply routes to Pakistan. The Navy began aggressive patrols, thus exploited Pakistan's dependence on sea-based oil and trade flows. Whereas, the Air Force's Operation Safed Sagar played a major role in the war where for the first time, air power was used at the height of 32,000 feet above the sea level. The IAF made its strong presence in the region by deploying 69 frontline aircrafts. We lost 2 fighter jets & 2 choppers as well.

The Army recaptured all the points, especially Tololing & Tiger Hill in a very impressive manner. Around 250 guns were used to provide artillery support to its infantry and ground troops. The Bofors field howitzer played a vital role in securing top positions and gaining control over the infiltrated space. After the body of Indian martyr Captain Saurabh Kalia was badly mutilated along with 5 other soldiers of the patrolling party, Indian forces were not at all in a state to show mercy to Pakistan.

For every individual who is involved with some sort of work like students, working professionals & even the ladies who take care of the home every day, following the same routine daily becomes boring at one point. And sometimes, the mind gets frustrated with the unchanging stuff that we can’t even concentrate on our work. So basically, our mind requires some change to function in a better way. A hobby is anything that one does regularly in leisure time. Pursuing a hobby gives an unexplainable pleasure that can only be felt. The choice of hobbies varies person to person. Some have only one while some pursue many. Actually, the hobby is one’s hidden quality; a skill that distinguishes one from the crowd. But the reality is that pursuing a hobby is necessary to have both personal & professional growth. It is like a stress-buster that makes us forget all our worries. It enables us to think creatively & in broader perspectives, thus improves our ability to handle unfavourable situations. So, everyone must pursue a hobby or two & excel in it because it is a skill that is unique for every individual. Instead of underrating it, one must take pride on it. And it is much needed in our country when there is so much of job-crunch. “When knowledge doesn’t help, skill does”. Today, we are living in such a fast paced world that when it comes to work, we all look for shortcuts to finish them up. A techological hype, a centre of discussion in this advancing era, the Virtual Reality (VR) and the Augmented Reality (AR). Most of you might have heard about them. But there is always more to know, so let’s dig a bit deeper…

txt
rich_1532017127874

Yet another technology that is having its own mark but quite stealthily is the Augmented Reality. AR is the one that adds or augments the reality we experience. It’s a common perception to believe both VR and AR are quite similar but, it doesn't go that way. One such difference that builds up a wall between them is the way they manipulate the reality. A beautiful exam was given to us. There was a saint and a king. The saint use to give a fruit to king everyday. And from the fruit, diamond appears. One day watching it, the king went to saint and asked, what is this diamond for? The saint said after collecting all diamonds, you will see a jinn. But he was ordered not to speak while going with it. But there was other condition too, he was said to answer a critical situation question as a king and if he don’t know he may leave and the process would end. But he can’t lie to it. Each day he went through a question, answered it and the situation went on for many times and the jinn would disappear. Though knowing questions, he felt I need to end this. Next day when he went he actually was not knowing the question and finally the process ended. Even though expertise in such field, he was happy to get fail. When there is a continuous chain of process, sometimes we think to end them. Though knowing everything we love to fail.

Waking up late on a Sunday morning around 11'o clock (actually call it afternoon according to your parents), as I sit on the sofa reading the articles in the Sunday Magazine. I ask my mom about today's breakfast. I hear a strident voice from the bedroom about "how unsuccessful I will become in the future, the seriousness that I lack , my attitude problem that I will face". My inner feeling after I hear all these lectures in the morning be like "I wish I had slept a bit more instead of listening to this Bhagavath Gita!"

As I sit for lunch, parents start talking about the neighbour's daughter 10/10 GPA, colleague's son for cracking JEE All India 10th rank, my relatives children getting placed in top MNC's. Wow! I prove myself "USELESS" in front of my parents again .... Yayyy!!

I always used to ask this question to myself because I don't get the logic , "Why do most of the parents compare other children with their children?". The thing is, we never feel other parents are great than our parents, but our parents think that other children are with flying colors but their own children are just lame, dumb, useless kids.

I get that they are reminding us where we are or trying to inspire us by telling successful stories but they are forgetting that deep down we are also humans and we too get hurt. We aren't jealous but we are just sad. They just need to have patience and confidence on us like we do on ourselves. There will be a day when they will also be proud of us, it just takes time and we both need to wait.

Everyone's unique, each of us has a hidden talent. Some are great Mathematicians, Singers, Dancers, Coders, Business Leaders, Sportsperson, Doctors, Lawyers and many more. If everyone were after a single profession then what's the point of all the other jobs in the world.

The reason why we struggle with insecurity is because we compare our BEHIND-THE-SCENES with other's highlighted reel. The only comparison one has to do is with one's self to whom we were yesterday and to whom we are today..... There is no comparison between the sun and the moon, they shine when it's their time!

"Personality begins when comparison ends.!"

"}]

Even the greats have sometimes failed in their job. This can be attributed to only one reason: lack of motivation. Motivation is the single biggest reason which drives a person to success. While observing the most successful people, you will find that all of them have one thing thing in common, i.e. all of them are highly motivated. Motivation is not something which can be bought . It always comes from within an individual, and only the burning desire to succeed and achieve one's goal brings out the motivation in you.

There are always days when we wake up in the morning and feel highly demotivated. We think of the long day ahead of us and think of ourselves as useless. That kind of situation should highly be prevented. A person needs all the blood and sweat to create the deep sense of motivation in him. And if that is finished, it is very difficult to create that motivation again. One should always surround themselves with good company. The peer group of a person should always consist of people who are driven and highly energized. You automatically become motivated once you come in touch with those kind of people. Diet and exercise are also very important. Only a healthy diet and regular exercise keeps us motivated, otherwise we would feel lethargic all the time.

Once we start getting the desired results gradually, the level of motivation increases exponentially, and we get confident to work even harder. That is the magic of true motivation. It gets compounded after each and every level of success. We should always remember in life that we only achieve successes in life up to the level of our goals. We never achieve more than what we dream. So we should never stop dreaming higher, and always try to be highly motivated. It would result in the upliftment of both the individual and society as a whole.
