Don't let the fire shine instead make your name shine, don't make crackers sound, let your success do that this Diwali.

Diwali is celebrated in different ways by people across the country. The people of North India celebrate the joy of the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after defeating the demon king Ravana.

In South India, it is celebrated for the victory of Lord Krishna over the demon king Narakasura by lighting up candles in a row. And in some places, it is celebrated for the marriage of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi.

Diwali is celebrated for five days, the first day is Dhanteras, which is known as Dhanatrayodashi. On this day people stay busy cleaning the house, and workplace and decorating it beautifully. People buy gold on this day as it is believed that buying gold items on Dhanteras brings fortune to the house. Also, people keep themselves busy shopping for their own clothes and accessories. Dhanteras is considered to be auspicious and hence is also a great day to start any business. In the evening of this day, people light up diyas and see that the diyas keep burning all throughout the night to honour Goddess Lakshmi. One can gift their loved ones and family any gold jewellery silver articles and spiritual articles on this auspicious day.

The second day of this lighting festival is known as Choti Diwali or Naraka Chaturdasi. On this day people celebrate the victory of light over dark, symbolising the destruction of Narakasura by Lord Krishna. In some places of the country, it is celebrated by worshipping Goddess Shakti or Goddess Kaali who killed the demon Narakasura. People also offer their prayers for the souls of their ancestors by visiting their graves. And in the evening people light diyas and enjoy by firing the crackers. On this day of the festival, people intend to keep themselves clean both inside and out. Hence, they perform abhyanga snan early in the morning. It is done by applying a mixture of rosewater, besan and other elements all over the body.

On the third day, Lakshmi Puja is performed, and everyone from the family offers prayers to Goddess Lakshmi, ensuring blessings and prosperity. This day is marked as an important day and people light diya in their homes and visit the temples along with their families. In the modern era of this generation, Diwali is celebrated by burning fireworks, leading to an increase in global warming. We, being responsible, try to celebrate Diwali in an eco-friendly manner. People offer Goddess Lakshmi turmeric, kumkum and some beautiful flowers on this day. Later that day they light up a special Diya in front of Goddess Lakshmi and worship her. People believe that it would be great if you gift a Tulasi plant or an idol of Goddess Lakshmi on this day.

The fourth day of Diwali is celebrated as Govardhanagiri Puja, where people celebrate Lord Krishna’s victory over Lord Indra, the king of all gods. On this day, Lord Krishna lifts the Govardhanagiri to save the villagers from the heavy rain with his little finger. The Govardhanagiri served as a shelter for the villagers. Hence, Lord Krishna gets the name Giridhari. Thus, people worship the Govardhanagiri on this day and offer Lord Krishna vegetarian food to show gratitude and devotion.

The fifth day of Diwali is celebrated as Bhai Dooj, celebrated to show the most beautiful bond between brothers and sisters. We know that a brother and sister share a great, unique bond. There is a belief that on this day, Lord Krishna meets his beloved sister Subadhra. Returning after he kills the demon Narakusur. Sisters on this day pray for the success and well-being of their brothers by sweetening the mouths of their brothers and giving them gifts and praying for their well-being. On this auspicious day, you can also give anything that your siblings love.

Diwali is celebrated not only in India but also across the globe. In the United States, it is celebrated by minority groups demanding recognition in the public sphere through these cultural and religious festivals by performing dances and conducting fests. They also put large-scale exhibitions to educate people about Diwali and South Asian cultures to outsiders and appreciate them, and develop respectful relations. Diwali is also celebrated in Indonesia. And all the rituals performed there during Diwali are similar to those of India making it a treat to watch. In Malaysia, Diwali is celebrated as Hari Diwali, and the rituals are a bit different from those that are followed in India. On this day of the festival, people have an oil bath in the morning and then head to temples to offer prayers. Since the sale of crackers is banned in Malaysia, people here celebrate this festival by lighting up candles and exchanging sweets, gifts and good wishes.

On a whole, Diwali is a time for celebrating, visiting relatives, exchanging gifts, wearing new clothes, feasting and setting off lights.

You need to work very hard in this class! Next is gonna be very easy. And this easy class never arrives right?! That is why most people ask for tips for engineering students because they know how challenging the road ahead can be. But, students don’t need to be too worried about what is yet to come. Engineering is a fun, rewarding and challenging course that teaches us some very useful life skills. Knowing how a BTech student should study can help make these years a lot more fun and less stressful.

A common question that most students have when they step into their new college is “ Is BTech as hard as they make it out to be?”. The answer depends a lot on you and how you adjust to your new surroundings. The level of understanding needed is higher than what you needed in school, as this is a professional course.

txt
rich_1666456673578

Here are a few tips for engineering students on how they should approach their BTech first year.

1. Learn to explore

One of the biggest transitions from school to college is that students will no longer be fed information. So, to navigate through BTech, you need to learn how to do your own due diligence, make use of reference books and explore subjects and topics on your own. This is a skill that comes with patience and practice. Also, not every study method or technique you used in high school will work in college. Hence, you need to explore these as well and figure out a system that works for you.

2. Live a Little

Most students have gone through severe stress, pressure and deadlines in their entrance coaching classes to get to college. Therefore, it is only natural that you feel like living a little in your first year. Since many of you might be far away from home, BTech first year is your first time living as an adult, and that comes with learning how to balance your freedom and responsibilities. Remember that you are now in charge of your own life, and so make sure you handle both your responsibilities and freedom with caution and care.

3. Look Beyond the Curriculum

Engineering isn’t like school wherein you had to go through the prescribed textbook and learn only what might come for the exam. To be a good engineer, you need to look beyond the syllabus and pick up valuable life skills and knowledge along the way. As a student, this requires you to search for knowledge in reference books, libraries and research papers. You need to try to accumulate as much knowledge as possible through these four years to prepare yourself for a career within your chosen industry. Engineering colleges are built such that they inspire young students to go beyond the books and syllabus and earn more knowledge.

4. Network and Grow

A good part of engineering requires students to build their connections, network and grow as professionals, and this starts in the first year. Make sure you take time off to meet your teachers and get to know them. Having a good professor to back you can make all the difference when it comes to getting a good final year project, research paper or seven some guidance when you feel a little unsure. Unlike in school, the professors in BTech tend to be more friendly and forthright. Don’t shy away from approaching them when you need help, and try to build good relations with them as they will grow to become supports for you throughout your academic life.

5.Join Study Groups and Clubs

Your first-year is also a great time to explore the other activities that happen in your college in terms of co-curricular. Try to join clubs and groups that engage in activities you have an interest in, such as music, dancing, theatrics or even technical skills. Build connections and join a wolf-pack to ensure you always have a solid support system at college. Having a well-balanced peer group can help you get out of tricky and stressful situations while also helping you cope with the pressures of academics.

6. Enjoy and Grow

In the end, your first year will be a crucial stepping stone into adult life. While you need to be wise and careful, you are also young and carefree. Make sure you set aside enough time to enjoy yourself because you will never be able to relive these days again. Make friends and memories, enjoy to the maximum during fests and competitions and grow as an individual during your engineering days.

We all get the same 24 hours in a day – so why do some people seem to achieve more with their time than others?

The answer as simple as it is is good time management.

Much like our energy and money, time is a finite resource and as such, it needs to be effectively managed.

Time management is all about planning and controlling the amount of time you spend on specific tasks and doing so properly might just make or break your career as a student.

Get it right, and you'll end up working smarter, not harder, to get more done in less time – even when time is tight and pressures are high. The highest achievers in the world are people that manage their time exceptionally well.

But what exactly does managing my time well get me, you ask?

When you know how to manage your time effectively, you unlock many benefits-

From,

Greater productivity and efficiency to Less stress.

From a better professional reputation to Increased chances of advancement.

From a happier more relaxed mental state to more opportunities that help you achieve your life and career goals.

Good time management takes a shift in focus from activities to results. Being busy isn't the same as being effective. In fact, for many people, the busier they are, the less they achieve. And that is why you start by assessing yourself.

Ask yourself,

How good are you at organizing your time so that you get the important things done well?

Can you balance your time between different activities? And when you do make time to do something, are you able to focus – and get it finished?

and with the answers to all these questions in your mind-

Start by Prioritizing- you achieve more when you start dedicating the right amount of time to the right things.

After you prioritize, learn to Schedule- You might as well know everything you need to do, but when should you do it? Timing is everything.

Now that you've prioritized and scheduled your work- Set Goals- the most successful "time managers" have clear targets to aim for.

Last but not least- It's no good just making the time to pursue your priorities. You have to use that time well, too.

That is where Concentration, Focus, and Practice come into play- this should be your mantra.

Summing everything up together, follow these 5 tricks to manage your time like a pro-

1) Be intentional: Keep a to-do list

2) Be prioritized: Rank your tasks

3) Be focused: manage distractions

4) Be structured: Time block your work

5) Be self-aware: Track your time

It is a very known fact that the mind grasps information through vision more than audio and there is no better way to communicate feelings than images. And that is what is done by our very own K Madhan Sesha Sai AKA Madhu. Currently pursuing his undergraduate in IT from Sreenidhi Institute of Technology, Hyderabad. He is a passionate photographer and admires photography. Madhu is currently heading the CICC CLUB in his college.

Not only is he into photography but Madhu takes interest in a lot of other activities like playing cricket, volleyball, chess, carrom and badminton. He is also a pet lover and has 2 pug dogs. He calls Tyson & Hachiko and he says he intends to have a husky & golden retriever.

What inspired you to do photography/ Videography

When asked about what inspired him to start and take up his passion as photography, Madhu stated that “Photography is a form of art. Photographs allow us to share our experiences with others. What better way to share your vacation than with precious beach photos? A picture is said to be worth a thousand words. Photography conveys emotion, tells a story, and captures the personalities of family members. As a photographer, I recognise the artistic value of photography. Photography allows us to express ourselves and bring out the beauty around us. We get to capture one's love, beauty, and story. As a result, I will be eternally grateful. I notice the smallest details. The details are what tie an experience together. Textures, nature, light, expressions, and surroundings all catch my eye. Photography is an excellent way to document significant events. Life is full of surprises.”

What is the one thing you wish you knew before you started photography?

The most important thing in his eyes and something that he wished he knew before he started his career in photography was learning the manual mode. He said that when he first picked up the camera, he set it on auto mode and started shooting right away. But moving further in his journey he realised that using auto mode only limited his ability and usage of his camera. He said “Manual mode will give me full creative control of my photos. So that I’ll be able to get my camera to do things that I've always wanted it to do. Learning to adjust my ISO, aperture and shutter speed will allow me to achieve the best possible photos that I can!”

How did your journey in photography/ Videography go?

Madhu’s journey in photography started in the year 2019 with a beautiful self-portrait in the sunset. And ever since then he has always kept creating photographs for fun and for people who want to preserve their memories forever.

Every journey has its own ups and downs and madhu faced his own set of challenges too. But through all of it. He has met some amazing people who are similarly passionate about photography just like him. This journey had opened doors to new friends who were interested in capturing images from different perspectives for him.

Madhu also said that “Camera is the only object that each and every person smile at. So i don't wanna miss that smile on people's faces. Almost every event in my college is covered by me & my team. I just don’t wanna leave the single thing in my college and make sure to get a storytelling photograph and Cinematography.”

What gear do you use?

When asked about the gear that he currently uses, he gave us a list of essentials that he owns as part of his journey. Namely the gears that he uses range from basic to advance cameras like canon 1500d to canon 5d mark 4. He also uses camera brands like Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon and sony. His main lens Kit includes rime lens, kit lens (18mm-55mm), macro ,wide lens and a telephoto zoom lens.

And not to forget the memory cards and extra batteries. Madhu makes sure to also carry a microphone in case it is necessary. Some of the other gear that he carries with him are a UV filter, DJI Gimbal, LED ring lights, a Laptop - To save data, and edit the captured pictures, a Hard Disk and SDD and a very handy good camera phone.

I hope you loved the journey of this hardworking and lovely photographer who strives to show the world his perspective. And finally, Madhu does not believes that “Practice makes man perfect” but rather “Practice with perfection makes a man perfect”.
"}]
There are many true stories out there to motivate us. The person in that story faces hardships recovers from them and emerges as a victor in life. So we are here to share the story of one such individual.

This is the story of Hymashree, a B.Com Computers student from Bhavans Vivekananda College. When we realize that our wish and passion are totally different, our journey of success begins.

So, can you tell us about the dream you had and the biggest decision you took and why?

I wanted to become a doctor. It fascinated me a lot. With a strong will and determination, I worked hard but maybe not enough to get into a medical college. And maybe there's something else written on my fate—that's okay I can't dwell on the past and regret it... So, with full enthusiasm and a new ray of hope, I enrolled in an engineering college, to pursue B Pharmacy. I had very nice expectations but on the contrary, I've had the worst experience ever teaching wasn't good, the people around were quite different, and sooner or later, I got a very clear clarity that, if I continue I'm sure I'll end up with just a degree paper and definite unemployment and zero knowledge . As said, I always dreamt of a successful career, so I didn't want to risk my career...With a strong gut feeling and self-belief, I took an extreme step and you know what it is, I've decided to discontinue and I did..!!

So, you dropped out…Then what followed it, can you tell us?

It was in the year 2019 and one of the toughest years for me, filled with extreme pain and sadness, it had a disastrous toll on my mental health. People started pointing me out. Everyone had a bad impression. They thought I was incapable of studying and fit for nothing. I was almost into depression and started doubting my capabilities and decision. At that point, my inferiorities were stronger than my dreams and ambitions I was clueless about my career.

That is a tough situation to be in…So, how you overcame it?

There were times I skipped family functions. I never stepped out of my home for almost 6 months because, if some XYZ stranger asks me what I'm studying I've no answer for that question. I had many sleepless nights...crying in a dark room. I was really at my low point. That's when my brother came, he motivated me, he just said one sentence that hit me hard "when we fail, people do make fun of us, but crying is not the solution. Work harder and prove yourself". That's the endpoint. I've become more serious and started exploring all the courses and career opportunities after the course.

That surely deserves applause, to overcome a situation like that is not at all easy and kudos to your brother. But when you can try many paths why did you choose commerce? And how it turned out?

Commerce is one such course that is open to everyone and has a plethora of career opportunities. With my cousin's help, I enquired more, and then I decided to switch to commence. With the help of some friends, I finally made up my mind to pursue B.com computers.

A few tried to divert my mind to get into Some ordinary college and pursue some normal courses. I thank my friend Kartik Kaveti for guiding me in the right way. I would have got influenced by their words, if not for him. He saved me, or else I'd have witnessed 3rd failure if he hadn't guided me that day, that one phone call changed my life.

Thank you is a small word maybe.

And yes, the most awaited moment, I've cleared my College interview and got an admit to BVC (my dream college - considering the standards and placement of opportunities)

As always, my best friend is always by my side and - he always advised me to be active in class, manage extra-curricular and academics, and equally. Those good words were running through my mind all the time. And I was super excited to start a new phase of my life with double enthusiasm.

That’s wonderful to hear so how was college life turned out?

So it was day one of college, and I was a bit timid and inferior. One mam (Mrs Leena ) helped me to regain my lost confidence and public speaking skills. She has given me all the possible opportunities which helped me regain my lost confidence. She was my first angel and is the 2nd one is my tuition teacher who taught me all the basics of accounting — "a little extra effort would fetch us the best results". As days passed on, my first semester results were out. I was astonished after viewing my results, forget good grades, dude! I topped the class, all Thanks to ma'am. With the same spirit and motivation, I was always active in co-curricular activities and did tremendously well in academics as well. So well that I even topped the entire commerce department.

Imagine a non-commerce student topping the entire department. Added many feathers to my hat, one after the other. NSS subhead, college magazine editor, and the list goes on. It was beautiful and hard at times.

A few relationships were bitter and a few were sweet and a few of them are super strong right from day one. And my college life was more like an emotional rollercoaster lot of ups and downs yet thrilling.

But in a blink of an eye, it's already 5th semester. And I started seriously preparing for my campus placements.

Hoo…That’s truly a beautiful time I can imagine it. But to make everyone who degraded you shut their mouths placement is a must, right? So, can you tell us how it went?

There was a huge competition, the Big 4's are all ready to hire. The opportunity once lost is lost a constant fear in everyone's head. And I wanted to make the most of it.

One among the big 4, has come to recruit us, that was my first-ever interview in life. Everyone believed we should give our best and leave the rest. I did the same. I gave my best shot . . . . And I cracked it . Yes! I did it..!!!! Felt like shooting loud but ended up crying, tears of happiness and joy were rolling down my cheeks. Most precious day of my life and I can never forget it. I got placed and top it off in one of the Big 4. Bought back my lost respect. All those fingers that pointed me out, congratulated me on my success. The same mouths which made fun of me praised me .What else do I have to prove?

A happy end for a journey or should I say a new beginning. So, what you wanna say now that you achieved your respect back?

Yes, my brother was right. No matter how difficult the situation is, no matter how much people criticize us, crying is never the solution, hard work, and proving to them that they're wrong is the best revenge ever .
And whatever happens in our life is always for our good, maybe better opportunities are waiting for us out there. Keep working and never lose hope maybe we could change the path, but I learned this, we must never take critics to heart and praises to head.

This is just a starting and baby step in my life. A lot more to do and a lot more to achieve. And I'm forever grateful to my family friends and my teachers. It's all because of their support.

Whatever the case, I never lost hope. I tried and I'll keep trying until I achieve my goal. Thank you is what I can say to all the people who were there and not there by me and in this journey says Hymashree.

"}]

Kalam Ji was called India's Biggest Failure:

He actually wanted to become a fighter Pilot, he even attempted an exam where there were only 8 seats and he got 9th rank. So, he failed to become a fighter Pilot, and a year later he was appointed head scientist of SLV 3 Satellite Launch Vehicle. It is an important project for ISRO. This project proves to the world that India can also launch satellites to orbit, but the satellite that was supposed to reach the orbit drowned in the Bay of Bengal. Kalam was responsible for this launch because right before the launch time the computer had warned him that something was wrong but he took a risk. But he didn’t stop there and a year later he attempted the launch again and this time he succeeded and “Today, we see him as our HERO”
Even when he failed a hundred times he had the courage to try for the 101st time.
