Julie Kagawa is an American author who is best known for writing ‘The Iron fey series’. This series consists of a total of fifteen books out of which the four books named ‘The Iron King’, ‘The Iron Daughter’, ‘The Iron Queen’ and ‘The Iron Knight’ follow a story line.
The fourth book in this series is The Iron Knight. This book unlike the three previous books that followed Meghan’s side of the story follows Ash’s side. After Meghan comes face to face with the false Iron King who also just happens to be none other than Ferrum and ends up sacrificing herself knowing that the only way to defeat him was letting him take her powers which in turn poisoned Ferrum as he was unable to bear the summer Faery in her and killed him. Later Meghan freed Ash from his service of Knighthood after he took her back to Machina’s tree which was present in the Iron realm and then commanded him to leave and settled in as the new Iron Queen.
From this point forth starts Ash’s journey. He sets out on a journey to become human so that he would be able to stay with Meghan without getting poisoned and dying a slow death like he would have if Meghan hadn’t ordered him away from the Iron realm. On this journey he meets a person who he thought was long dead and faces many a perils before reaching his destination. Only he then comes face to face with the fact that it takes more than just courage to make the ultimate sacrifice. And so the story goes.
All the four parts were set in a fantasy land which was out of this world. Both literally and creatively. Overall the book along with the entire series following Meghan and Ash’s love story was great and definitely worth giving a read to.
