The Immortals of Meluha was penned by Mr. Amish Tripathi an Indian author. It is the first part of a series called the Shiva Trilogy. The word trilogy speaks for itself as the series consists of three books. The first being ‘The Immortals of Meluha’, the second ‘The secret of the Nagas’ and the last one ‘The oath of the Vayuputras’.

1526382559441
txt

In 1900 BC a near perfect Empire was created many centuries earlier by Lord Ram who was deemed as one of the greatest monarchs in history. This empire was called the land of Meluha located in the sapth sindu the land of the seven rivers which is now known as the indus valley civilisation. This once proud empire and its Suryavanshi rulers face severe perils as its primary river, the revered Saraswati which is used to make the drink of the gods – “The Somras” is slowly drying to extinction alongside which they face devastating terrorist attacks from the Chandravanshi’s who seemed to have allied themselves with the Nagas a supposed cursed race of deformed being with superior combat skills. Enraged the Suryavanshi’s start looking for the Neelkant who is prophesied to save them all. After a long time of searching they finally found their prophesied Neelkant. Imagine A prophesy, A warrior Princess, A Tibetian Chieftan, A blue throat, A drink of immortality, a war and last but not least a forbidden love. The book was simply splendid. The way the plot was written where every small detail was connected to something it was absolutely fantastic. It is a book definitely worth reading. Personally I’ve read it about six times which is almost close to the number of times I read Harry Potter. My favorite parts in this book are numerous and as much as I’d like to tell you all about them I won’t as I want you to read it.

It's summer now, and the temperature is almost 45°C. Everyone usually hate this season due to the tropical heat. The thing is that, this torridness is due to the combination of carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon trioxide (CO3) and the green house gases like chloro fluoro carbons (CFC) absorbing the solar radiation that is bounced by the earth's surface. These gases can last for years to centuries and keep trapping the radiation that causes the earth to get hotter, which is the "GREEN HOUSE EFFECT".
Due to the global warming, the ozone layer is getting depleted and this is leading to the penetration of UV rays directly from the sun onto the earth.

1526284459085
txt

Human beings are much more dependent on the living things than any other living beings, and they are very much habituated to a luxurious way of living life. So, we have few solutions to prevent the earth from global warming:-

1. Boosting energy efficiency:-
Energy efficiency technologies allow us to use less energy to get the same—or higher—level of production, service, and comfort. This approach has vast potential to save both energy and money, and can be deployed quickly.

2. Managing forests and agriculture:-
We can fight global warming by reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation and by making our food production practices more sustainable.

3. Greening transportation:-
Improving efficiency (miles per gallon) in all modes of transport, switching to low-carbon fuels, and reducing vehicle miles traveled through smart growth and more efficient mass transportation systems.

Murder on the Orient Express is one of the finest crime novels penned by the 'Queen of Crime', Agatha Christie. A classic Hercule Poirot mystery, it is considered to be a masterpiece in the history of crime novels. And as usual, the 'grey cells' of Poirot lives up to it's name.

The plot is based in the 1930s on a train running in Europe called the 'Orient Express' . The world famous detective, Hercule Poirot, travels in the Orient Express one night and as luck would have it, a dead body of a fellow passenger is found the next morning. Poirot springs into action and tries to examine each and every detail meticulously , but as the case progresses, it tends to get even more complicated. All other passengers on the train are from diverse backgrounds and have solid alibis. But Poirot, true to his reputation ,questions and suspects each one of them, and finally solves the case, only to unfold a shocking and ghastly ending .

Agatha Christie completely lives up to her name through this novel. She uses complex characters and savagely produces each one of their sundry stories. The book keeps you on the edge throughout, only to leave you shell shocked in the end. The genius behind this story is laudable. The story produces a sort of vintage setting in your mind, with the characters exercising lifestyles which are far too devoid of a murderer's. Christie succeeds to finally bring together all bits and pieces together in the end, creating a rigid story which leaves you in awe.

The book was adapted into films twice. Once in 1974 and then recently in 2017, where Kenneth Branagh stars as Hercule Poirot. Taking everything into account, this book is worth a read and never fails to effortlessly surprise you in the most untoward parts.

Depression, somewhere or the other all of us face this at different stages of life.

The scientific reason for depression is unknown while mentally "stress" can be a major reason for depression.

Today I've read a news in 'The HINDU'. The headline was: 'Zaira Wasim reveals her struggle against depression, contemplates 'Break from everything'

The 'DANGAL' actress accepted that she had been suffering from depression and she stated that she wanted a break from everything work, movies, study and most importantly from social media.

According to WHO(World Health Organisation)'s survey around 350 billion people around the world are affected by depression.

Depression is measured in 'Hamilton Depression Scale'

Depression is seriously dangerous, I've seen one of my friends go through it. He was depressed with his failure. He is a good student was performing well academically until he failed in an exam in the first year of his graduation. This moved him deeply, he began thinking that he was fit for nothing. He kept saying "I'm fit for nothing. I missed qualifying NIT with just 5 marks and now I've failed."

I was too worried about him. Depression led him to lose hope in life. He lost his appetite, giving up on things he loved. He gave up on cricket, movies and even set aside his smartphone.

He became weak and suffered from several physical issues like insomnia(lack of sleep) and sometimes even hypersomnia(oversleep). In course of a month, he lost weight heavily and unintentionally.

He used to write whatever he felt in a book and used to hide it under his bed. one day, we found that book and were surprised to see what he wrote. He filled a book with his life story which was exceptionally great.

His writing skills were awesome and we found a writer in him and he came out of his depression when people started appreciating him for his work.

FREEDOM – The term for which there are different opinions from everybody. People define freedom in different ways like in freedom of belief, freedom of speech, freedom to express oneself, freedom of religion. Freedom is the right to do anything according to own will.

But is it so?? Does everyone get freedom ?? Does everyone has the right to perform their own willing activity?? Do celebrating freedom suggests real freedom? Are girls given freedom in a true manner??

The answer to all these questions is NO.

Once a teacher asked students to define freedom. One girl beautifully replied, “Miss, according to me freedom is being able to express myself through clothing, words I use without fear of getting judged badly , go outside without the fear of getting stared at on by creepy men and not getting married at certain age.”

Freedom is not a thing which we can touch or hold. If we see a happy environment around than it is freedom. If each and everyone is allowed to do any particular thing according their own will than it is freedom. Freedom is allowing one to live own life according to own wish at his/her’s desirable place.Freedom is to live free life and ensure respect. One don’t get freedom along with independence.Even getting each and every needed facilities doesn’t give freedom if not allowed to work on own desire. If an individual is not having all facilities but not restricted in any manner suggests true freedom. We need to encourage freedom letting people do their desired task rather than judging them. Once a real freedom is achieved, the world will reach its top level.

Thus,

Get free from the cage and enjoy freedom.
"}]
A black object absorbs all the colours of the visible spectrum and reflects none of them to the eyes. But does that mean the colours are non-existent? I don’t think so.

1526010611054
txt

Similarly no situation is completely black or white or negative or positive in this world it is all about perspective. This can be proved in many situations. For example let us take the Indian dowry system. When a person takes dowry to marry someone it can be viewed as buying your other half like they were a sack of potatoes only in this case you are buying their marital status or it can be viewed as your parents wanting to give you a comfortable life and something to support you with in dire situations. So is dowry positive or negative? I’d say it depends on the intentions and perspective and that it is neither completely black nor completely white. To further prove this we can also take the example of a criminal. Are criminals inherently evil when born or are they moulded into such? No, they aren’t born evil the factors around them influence them to be what they are. After all as they say monsters are not born but are made.

1526010611054
txt

Some things to do to get over this black and white perspective are to disengage your ego from your ideas and Understand that there is much you don’t understand as it is very difficult to be honest with ourselves when our egos are involved.

1526010611055
txt

Saying this I’d like you to not be a victim of black and white perspectives because, as Austin Cline said when we fall victim to black-and-white thinking, we reduce an endless spectrum of possibilities to the two most extreme positions, saying, in short, that home is either north or south, when home may indeed be southeast or northwest, or in some cases, both, depending on the necessary route.

1526010611055
txt

So never stop learning and believe black-and-white thinking isn’t the best way to engage ideas.

1526010611055
txt"}]
The birth of Earth has always remained as a question with no clear answer. Although there are many theories proposed on how our planet formed but, there is none with a solid proof. From years scientists are working seriously on how our planet formed so as to know more about us and the mysterious Cosmos. From then on, man started to explore other planets in order to solve this riddle and this continues till date…

From the beginning of our understanding of Space , we were always fascinated by our Red neighbour. Mars turned out to be the most preferable one for our exploration and study. Some studies even suggested that we might not be Earthlings and might be Martians after all. Sounds pretty crazy , but what it meant is that our own planet might be formed from Mars and studying Mars could somehow explain the complex way of planet formation and inturn LIFE. Mahaanati stands out as an epic biopic of Mahanti Savitri gaaru, directed by Nag Ashwin. Mahaanati is the first ever biopic of a Telugu actor/actress and it turned out be a masterpiece. Hats-off to Nag Ashwin for bringing out this epic to TFI, he redefined the word biopic with Mahaanati. Each and every scene in this movie is so precious and narrated in an enormous way. While watching this movie you will get a feel that you are also a part of the story and everything looks so real. The film's sets also appears so real and convinces us with 40's and 80's backdrop set ups.

Keerthy Suresh is a perfect replica of Savitri gaaru and portrayed her role very well. This is a lifetime role and achievement for Keerthy Suresh and she will cherish this role for life long. It is a treat to watch Keerthy playing Mahanati's role. In a few instances and moments we get a feeling that Savitri gaaru is actually portraying her own role. One cannot imagine any other heroine portraying Savitri gaaru's role. Keerthy's dedication, sincerity, hard work and commitment towards her role is incredible. May be she won't get a such great tailor made role for her in future. The innocence, naughtiness, stardom, heartbreak, alcoholism and kindness of Savitri's has been showcased very well and Keerthy portrayed them with nerve. I want to see Keerthy in such roles again in future in her upcoming movies. We all owe her one with this film. She up-stepped as an actress with her scintillating performance throughout the film, especially in the second half. Her performance towards the climax is quite emotional. It looks like cake walk to her in acting emotional scenes. Keerthy Suresh is ultimately the sole reason for the film's grandeur and success, I could say that.
Dulquer Salmaan is a well known versatile actor of this generation. He is a god gifted actor to Indian cinema. He is well known to Telugu audience with Ok Bangaram movie. Dulquer is the perfect choice for playing Gemini Ganesan's role. He just lived in the character of Gemini Ganesan. It's a treat to watch him and Keerthy together on screen. On screen chemistry between Dulquer and Keerthy worked out very well. Dulquer portrayed his role to the best.

Samantha Akkineni as Madhuravani is pretty impressive. Her dubbing with stammering worked out very well too. Her emotional performance in the climax speaks the volume of her acting skills. Undoubtedly this is her career best performance.

Vijay Devarakonda as Vijay Anthony provides ample support to Samantha. All his scenes with Samantha came out very well. Their love story is another added attraction to this movie.
Rajendra Prasad gets a meaty role after a long time. He is exceptional in his character. Relationship between Rajendra Prasad and Keerthy Suresh brings a lot of depth and emotional touch to the story. Shalini Pandey and Malavika Nair are too good in their limited roles.

The veteran actors like Naresh, Bhanupriya, Tulasi and Tanikella Bharani were major attractions to the film. Coming to the cameos, Naga Chaitanya as Akkineni Nageswara Rao gaaru, Mohan Babu as SV Ranga Rao gaaru, Prakash Raj as Aluri Chakrapani gaaru, Director Krish as KV Prasad gaaru, Srinivas Avasarala as LV Prasad gaaru and Sandeep Reddy Vanga as Subba Rao gaaru were nothing short of spectacular. Their cameos stands out and adds attraction to this epic cinema. Jr.NTR could have played Sr.NTR gaaru, that would become a biggest asset to the film. Jr.NTR could have accepted the chance to play Sr.NTR, because no one could play his role. The only disappointment is we saw NTR gaaru in CGI for just a moment.
Coming to the technical department, music by Mickey J Meyer is fresh and breezy and his background score elevates the film big time and brings lot of depth to the proceedings. All the songs were shot beautifully. Production values are top notch as the film and sets appears so real and rich. Cinematography by Dani Sanchez-Lopez is extraordinary as the visuals are eye catchy. Editing is sleek. Costume designers needs special mentions for the costumes of Keerthy Suresh and all other characters, they have done a splendid job. After delivering a masterpiece like Yevade Subramanyam, director Nag Aswin chosen a biopic and stayed true and loyal to the subject. He never deviated form the story and didn't add any unnecessary scenes or songs and forceful comedy. Everything about Savitri's life has been showcased in artistic manner. We can hope Nag would deliver more films like Mahanati and to become a great director in our era.
On the whole, Mahanati is an artistic tribute to the legendary actress Mahanati Savitri gaaru. This film showcases everything that Savitri gaaru gone through her life in an effective way. Her childhood, struggles, emotions, naughtiness, innocence, kindness, heartbreak and alcoholism has been showcased very naturally. Mahanati is nothing short of an epic and this film speaks the volume of our TFI's talent in making biopics. We can expect more biopics of our legendary actors/actresses in future, Mahanati will remain as the root and inspiration for them. Mahanati is a heart-warming film to each and every section of audience. Don't miss it. Mahanti- Come be a part of history.
"}]
