The most famous quote about friendship says “a friend in need is a friend indeed”. Here, the doing word is ‘need’, the word that defines a true friendship. Therefore, my question is, is there anything called a real friendship? Are all friendships in relation to the “need” that if anyone is totally useless, at present or in the future, will she/he be considered a friend? If yes, then why are there no rich as friends for the poor? If no, then is the term FRIENDSHIP a mirage, an ideal which exists only in imagination ?
The rich join hands with only the rich and influential, the middle class with the middle class and the like. A close gaze at all the friendships one can find a give and take policy that binds it. The more the satisfaction of mutual “need”, the stronger the friendship is. It simply means that any relation is valuable; any friendship is valuable, only when there is any USE. The rich never join their poor relatives or neighbors because they are of no USE.
There are people who claim to be interested in making friends and claim it to be their weakness in life. They do all thousands of things to get the trust of others and make maximum number of friendships and relations within a short span of time wherever they go. A deep introspection is asked from you to check how many of them have been sincere?
Are all friendships curse in disguise? Is it just an adjustment done in a society or community for a smooth living? Is it just a search for people who are of one’s USE for one’s NEEDS?

Everyone has an ideal friendship in mind and searches for a true friend. Is it just a mirage?................
"}]
We celebrate lot of days in a year in the name of a girl, women and mother. One needs to understand that respecting "HER" is important on normal days other than just talking on those designated days. A Girl is still not allowed to get educated in many parts of our country. There are self assumed notions regarding girls education. Unless a girl is educated, the next generation is not properly nurtured. People take lot of examples and use motivational quotes but the real change should start at the grass-root level. One should be the change what they want to see in the world.

Liquor baron Vijay Mallya's attempt to escape punitive action in form of expulsion by a Parliament panel on charges of "conduct unbecoming of a MP," by resigning has run into trouble. Rajya Sabha chairman Hamid Ansari, who received Mr Mallya's resignation, has rejected it on technical grounds.

In a reply sent to Mr Mallya, the secretary general of Rajya Sabha, Shamsher Sharif, said his resignation does not conform to the prescribed procedures, the original does not even bear his signature.

This means trouble for Mr Mallya, as earlier on Tuesday, the Rajya Sabha ethics committee which was scrutinising complaints against him, had recommended that he should be expelled from the house of Elders.

The report of the Committee is tabled in the House not submitted to the chair. Thus the lawmakers' can push for taking up the expulsion issue soonest. Though Mr Mallya's second term as lawmaker ends in June, only a month away, an expulsion will mean serious embarrassment for him.

Mr Mallya had left India on March 2, one day before a consortium of banks moved the BSC against him to recover over Rs. 9,000 crore in unpaid loans.

While last week the ethics committee had in principle had decided to expel him, a letter was sent seeking his comments. Mr Mallya, according to the committee members, sent a terse note claiming he doesn't expect a fair trial.

In his resignation letter to the chairman of Rajya Sabha, he had said he didn't want his name and reputation to be "further dragged in the mud". "Since recent events suggest that I will not get a fair trial or justice, I am hereby resigning as a member of the Rajya Sabha with immediate effect," he had written.

The government has already cancelled Mr Mallya's passport.

"}]
The latest survey which made headlines says Bangalore will be unliveable in another five years, if the current pattern of urbanisation continues. Recently, Chennai authorities too faced flak for unplanned expansions which led to flash floods.

What are we doing with our cities? Are we unable to live in equanimity with nature?

We hear governments speaking of investments, youth thinking of opportunities, but how many of us are actually thinking about the need of the hour? Why is Hyderabad much hotter than last year, and there is no cool breeze even in the late evenings? Why are the potholes open?

Perhaps we can do something about cleanliness of our surroundings. Though we might not have a say in what the authorities are doing, let us take some proactive steps than just pondering over these things.

1. Increase the greenery.Where ever we are, flats or independent homes, or offices, it is always possible to have some plants around. There are wonderful ideas available on the internet on how to grow plants from used plastic bottles.

2. Bicycles. It is better for the environment if we all use biycles to go to near by places. Denmark is the perfect example of how we can use different transport modes efficiently. Some cities in the US too started transport on bikes on an experimental basis to reduce pollution.

3. Plastic waste . Find out innovative uses for those plastic bottles than just cluttering environment with them. Encourage groups formed to promote recycling. Purchase recycled stuff. Say no to plastic bags and carry cloth bags to stores.

4. Care for animals and birds. We are just a part of an ecosystem comprising of other forms of life too. Feed birds and animals everyday according to your convenience. Arrange for clean water to drink. Take an active part in rescuing sick or injured animals. Contact your nearest animal welfare associations to know how you can contribute.

5. Do not litter. The major cause of concern in cities is garbage strewn on roads, the stench causing inconvenience to motorists and pedestrians alike. Take steps to educate people about it, (though they are well read, huh) before it ruins the entire area.
