Everyone has that one crack head friend who is completely and utterly obsessed with horror films and the macabre; and if you don’t have a friend like that, then it’s probably you. When it comes to me and my group of idiots, we are all a bunch of teenage addicts of adrenaline rush. Who wouldn't want to feel like a super human every now and then even though its for a very short time? That's what adrenaline rush does to you.

I'm one step away from becoming an adult and to whoever said that ageing is a beautiful feeling-Let me tell you pal, that is absolute crap.

When I was eighteen-months-old, a lot of things happened. If you really thought I was going to share everything I did as a baby, then there's something wrong with you. I'm not Lucky. I don't even remember what I ate for yesterday's dinner. That's how good my memory power is. Impressive, isn't it?
My childhood passed in a flash at lightening speed. It was cringe-worthy and not worth sharing at all. I did everything from sneaking out to stealing money. You know, the typical childhood of an Indian girl.
When I was thirteen, insecurities were over the top of everything in my life and confidence wasn't even on the list. My young self was naive enough to let people's words get through my head. I didn't fit in. Friendship was pretty non-existent. I was an introvert. I still am. I hated crowds. I still do. I was terrified of speaking in public. I almost fell into depression. It was dark times. But as Dumbledore said and I quote,"Happiness can be found in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light."
Guess, I forgot to turn on the light. After living in the sheer darkness for over an year, I saw it for the first time in a very long time. It wasn't the dramatic light effect.
I dodged opportunities then, I chase them now. I didn't knew my self worth then, but now I don't accept anything less than what I deserve. The naive thirteen-year-old is long gone and for good. The worst fears still exist but I have learned to overpower them. I built a china wall with a negativity filter around my head. This didn't happen over a night. In fact, it took a lot of nights and insomnia to become what I'm today.
I thought I wasted years of my life on the internet instead of preparing for Entrance tests. I found acceptance there. My loneliness was cured. I saw the world in a different light. I found an escape from the world and that's when books became my best friends. I still spend more time reading than with my friends. I realised I had been living under a rock the whole time. There's so much to this world that many of us chose not to see.
I still remember the times when me and my aunt would grow excited on Saturday nights. We would have it all planned. The blankets, the popcorn, the pillows and of course dimmed lights. I would leave the door unlocked to run out of the room, just in case if a Zombie jumps out of the TV to come and eat me alive. Yeah laugh all you want. But it doesn't change the fact that life is much more cruel. It has no mercy and there's no permanent escape. One can only strengthen themselves and face it or succumb to it. Its inevitable.
It started out small. Who would have thought the once strangers I met online would change my life forever? As cliche as that statement sounds, its true. One taught me kindness. One brought fun to my boring life. All of them broadened my mind to a whole new level. What they say is true: People don't walk into your life for no reason.
The change is happening gradually. Sure, it costed me a much better engineering seat but I wouldn't trade it for anything and one day, I was looking at myself in the mirror and I knew it was all worth the failure. Because it was the moment I fell in love. One of the best feelings I have ever felt. I was proud because I'm not girl I used to be and I'm not sorry about that. Its called growth and I thank god for it everyday.
All this wouldn't have happened if I hadn't hit the ground that one time. Rock bottoms will teach you things that mountain tops never will.
Loving yourself is a struggle. Its not about making excuses for your flaws but rather accepting them. In life, I made mistakes and learned from them but I don't have any regrets. Because all of those mistakes, lead me here. With each passing day, I fall in love with myself all over again.
Self acceptance is something that's not easy to achieve. But once you do, trust me, you have won at life. You will feel stronger, not because of your muscle but because of your mental strength to break social constructs and pave your own path.
The greatest feeling is knowing yourself inside out. One of the biggest challenges in life is being yourself, unapologetically. After all, you are the one you should love in this world.
"Sometimes all you need is twenty seconds of insane courage, just literally twenty seconds of embarrassing bravery and I promise you, something great will come out of it."

Author's note: I may sound like I'm bragging. Managing time effectively is an art that, like many other forms of art, can be learned. Of course, it goes without saying that you must be willing to learn it in the first place, otherwise there is no point, is there?

I've found out recently that if one wakes up earlier in the day, they are likely to find that they days are much longer than what they're used to. Waking up at 5AM enables you to get much more done than waking up late and sleeping late, that just boosts lethargy and makes you slower. Yes, that's a thing. So how can you make sure you can be effective when it comes to time management?

1. Wake up early:

This one was obvious, wasn't it? Not only does waking up early ensure that you are ready to tackle the day ahead of the curve, it also ensures that you will sleep early to make up for the sleeping time to facilitate you waking up early in the first place. You'll also find that your days are longer and that you can accomplish much more than what you previously thought was possible, including hitting the gym that you've been promising to do.

2. Underpromise, Overdeliver:

3. Prioritise:

Of course, the above point would be crippled without remembering the fact that you need to be able to prioritise your work effectively. One of the most important parts of learning to manage your time is learning to say no. If you have something important going on and someone comes along and asks you to focus on something else or your friends ask you to hangout when you know you've got something important to you, you absolutely need to know how to say no. Ratan Naval Tata, who was born on 28 December 1937 in Bombay presidency, British India, is one of the most successful entrepreneurs of independent India. He is an inspiration for many entrepreneurs around the globe. Today as we remember his achievements on his 82nd birth anniversary, lets look at his life and learn a lesson or two from his experiences.

His journey from a new born!

Ratan Tata was born to Naval Tata and Sooni Tata on 28 December 1937, in Bombay , British presidency. His parents seperated when he was 10, he was later adopted and raised by his grandmother,Navajbai Tata .He studied in Bishop cotton school Shimla, he graduated from Riverdale country school, New York City.He then received a B. Arch. degree in Architecture with Structural Engineering from Cornell University, and, in 1975, graduated from the Advanced Management Program of Harvard Business School — an institution which he has since endowed.

His road to the successful career.

Though he was born in the Tata family, he earned his position. In 1961, Tata began his career in the Tata Group, working on the shop floor of Tata Steel, shoveling limestone, and handling the blast furnace. Promoted to management during the 1970s; he then endured trial by fire and was able to turn Group company National Radio and Electronics (NELCO) around, only to see it collapse during an economic slowdown. In 1991, J. R. D. Tata stepped down as chairman of Tata Sons, naming him his successor.During the 21 years he led the Tata Group, revenues grew over 40 times, and profit, over 50 time. On 28 December 2012 he resigned his executive powers from tata group and appointed Cyrus Mistry as chairman of Tata group. He was later removed from the post on 24 October 2016 and Ratan Tata was made the interim chairman of the Tata group, till 12 January 2017, after which the position was handed over to Natarajan Chandrasekaran. Ratan Tata invested his personal savings in Snapdeal, Teabox, CashKaro.com, Ola Cabs, Paytm, Xiaomi, American Express, Bitcoin venture Abra, Nestaway, Dogspot.

Along with the fame and stardom he was honored with the Nation's prestigious awards

Ratan Tata received the Padma Bhushan in 2000 and Padma Vibhushan in 2008, the third and second highest civilian honours awarded by the Government of India. He has many other honors and awards to his name.

Contributions to the society:

Mr. Ratan's strong belief of giving wealth back to the people is reflected in his donations of approximately 60-70 per cent of his wealth, especially in the support of education, medicine and rural development, distinguishing him as a leading philanthropist in India. In 2010, Tata Group companies and Tata charities donated $50 million for the construction of an executive center at Harvard Business School (HBS).The executive center has been named Tata Hall, after Ratan Tata (AMP '75), chairman emeritus of Tata Sons. The total construction costs have been estimated at $100 million.

Tata Hall is located in the northeast corner of the HBS campus, and is devoted to the Harvard Business School's mid-career Executive Education program. It is seven stories tall, and about 155,000 gross square feet. It houses approximately 180 bedrooms, in addition to academic and multi-purpose spaces. Tata Consultancy Services(TCS) has given the largest ever donation by a company to Carnegie Mellon University for a facility to research in cognitive systems and autonomous vehicles. TCS donated $35 million for this grand 48,000 square-foot building that is going to be called TCS Hall

My idea of college, I believe was a lot linked to infrastructure and the fancy facilities that permitted me to explore un-chartered territory and secretly find about a secret society that existed years ago but is functioning till date, only secretly this time.

Either way, St. Francis wasn’t on top of my list.

It was a back-up I thought I wouldn’t need.

But well, now I am the Undergraduate student who’s not going to spend 3 years during her B A studies but 4. I changed my course after two semesters of B-Com, and now pursue Arts.

It seems almost that because there was so much that I had on my list to what ‘looked like a good college’ , is that I landed in one that is well, to put it mildly , in stark contradiction to the idea of a ‘handsome’ college. It doesn’t have vast areas where you can bicycle your way around the campus exploring, nor has swimming pools or multiple canteens and multiple auditoriums or a ‘sunset’ point etc etc.

BUT , now that I sit/lay down/ whilst listening to what I am now calling new-age music gone classic-vintage; I realise that a good college doesn’t have to look ‘great’. You just need to be ‘good’ to it ( in more non-metaphorical or vague or philosophical terms - have an open eye to what you see and know, and don’t jump to conclusions to sit on your butt complaining about shit you don’t have and the so-called shit you do have). You be good to it, and it will be great to you. Yes.

You’ll realise the the Library has the hidden secret-societies you were looking for. The canteen is economical and noisy and well, better than a bench with tea and samosas only. The indoor stadium is actually in a state you can still boast about it, and there’s basketball too. The pani -puri guy and needs-dhaba is more than any midnight-maggie point you wish for.
You get to eat ghar-ka-khana and have the joy of opening your tiffin box and bask on the glory of its contents knowing that it shall be tasty and worth the wait through the sleepy hours. You bond with friends sitting on the floor in the corridors of your 3 floor main UG Block, than what you would have thought on a campfire in grass at a national fest. You have rocks and trees that connect you with Nature, and more often than not with my dear friend. You have inspiring literature TEACHERS who know why they are teaching what they do, and how they do.

You learn that self-sufficiency is the key to survival, and not dependency on the class whatsapp group for last minute notes hours before the exam. You adapt to multi-tasking as you plan for three birthday parties in the same month, just days apart. You imbibe efficient working as you give yourself only hours to finish an assignment because you know you'll live up to the task. You struggle with identifying yourself in the pile of things/activities/responsibilities you sign up for. There is always someone else who is just that little 'notch' higher on the scale of comparision.

You find really similar yet insane people who are trying just as hard as you to not just fit in, but stand out. You find passion and also the lack of it. But somewhere between all of this tangled mess, you discover a little more about yourself, and for that, you have your college to thank.
"}]

The Universe that we know and see is not the same as it exists. There are still many unknown facts that we don't know. Space is the boundless three-dimensional extent. What we know and see is not the same as it exists. There are a lot of facts about space. Some of them are:-

1. Space maintains pin drop silent!

Sound waves need a medium to travel. As there is no atmosphere in space, space will always be completely silent. Astronauts can talk to each other in space as for them, radio waves scan travel through space.

2. Space smells like a welding workshop!

Though it is impossible to smell space directly or through a spacesuit, astronauts report that upon returning from a spacewalk, their gear smells like hot metal and arc welding fumes. The source of this star could be byproduct from dying stars, the traces of which can be found throughout the universe.

4. Only on Venus a day is longer than an year.

Venus takes 243 earth days to rotate once on its axis. The planet’s orbit around the sun takes 225 earth days, compared to the earth’s 365 days. A day on the surface of venus takes 117 earth days. 5. If two pieces of same metal type touch in space, they bond and permanently stuck together.

It happens because the atoms of the individual pieces of metal have no way of knowing that they are different pieces of metal, so the lumps join together. This amazing effect is called cold welding. This will not happen on earth because there is air and water separating the pieces.

When we were in our tenth standard, all of us must have heard one classic statement from family and teachers which goes on " Study hard and get great scores, You'll be sorted for life". No, this didnt stop there, the statement followed us to our graduation too. The whole point is every hurdle let be tenth or graduation or PG or the competitive exam (GRE, TOFEL, IELTS and others) all are important. But did you ever observe what is common in all are hurdles that when known can hike the scoring?

They are various skills that we must indulge in which are Verbal, Quantitative, IQ, Everyday Life's Physics and such other. Many of us are taught these or some take up coaching for getting placed in an MNC or Admission in the desired course.

Basically, these generic courses stands out as a gate for our great career. Luckily, I realized it soon and keep hunting for such coaching classes. I recently worked on my verbals and now I excel in it. It's time for me to master another important field and that's Quantitative for my competitive exam.
