Freedom cannot exist within any society, civilization, or country. Though the United States is reputed for offering complete freedom and independence to all men and women, it was only after centuries that enslavement for a selected race had come to an end. And though white men are righted by the idea of freedom, it still comes into conflict when looked at from the bigger picture, a picture made up of separate individuals with diverse thoughts. The real model of freedom is nothing but a myth.

Individual freedom is believed to be a necessity for every human being just as it is for a country’s well-being. In some societies freedom is too biased of a thought that stretches all the way from women to children to even adults. Though some believe freedom is important for growth, the majority argue that very freedom is the basis of disobedience. In a society, such as India’s, women are taught to be conservative for as long as one can remember. It is good for a woman to try new things, if it doesn’t involve her reaching beyond the front porch of her house. Being academically exceptional to appreciative, but fighting for the same job that a man deserves is a taboo. Fly, just not too high.

Look, I understand that women are treated as precious artifacts and all such artifacts are meant to be protected but how long will we be kept confined in a storage box? Women, just as men, are human beings justified for the right of freedom. Though when it comes to us, it is an unglorified myth. For women, themselves, cannot be defined as independent individuals.

Freedom evokes different emotions in different instances, and most words cannot achieve that to the same extent that freedom can. As people who can determine our own well-being we must be granted the freedom to explore what is right and for what is wrong. Simply restricting the liberty to do so brings more harm than good.

"}]

Not too much amused see so many status updates about Independence Day. Am not really sure how really independent we are. 😅😅😅

70years of Independence? What did we achieve so far?? Is it the number of increasing male/female atrocities or is it the number of drunk & drive accidents which are brutally laying out the innocents dead in bed?? In my conscience (about which you need not even even care, as this is my personal thought) where are we leading in to? Westernisation which is okay up to some extent. It took 70years for still even being called as an Developing Nation. Can we see anytime soon India being called a Developed Nation.

Achievements: ISRO, Importing technology innovations and some thing kind of entrepreneurship starting our own idea thought processes in recent days and few more.

Failures: Increase in number of Male/Female atrocities, forgetting our main source Agriculture which used to be our back bone. Increase in number of break ins in to Indian borders, waters and what not.

There is lot to speak about failures than about our success. Just don't pat your back with the success achived, give a thought to your brain about the failures we came across. Let's speak about our failures which increases our strength to enrich, embed and evolve our nation as a global place to live in, a place to invest in and a place to trust in. Failures help us to know where are we are going wrong. Success just stays for a moment's and vanishes in no time.

Two things. I'm not complaining nor taking up anyone's name. Yes the present government is doing their best bet one can never offer. Neither am backstabbing anything. I'm just conveying that don't raise your collars just with what is achieved, there is lot be seen lot to be achieved together. The future needs much more resources than what we have now. :)

Just lets not get carried away. There is lot to be achieved together. There is lot to be built for the future generations. It's never too late to give back to country you came up from. Stay There.

1502759993033
txt"}]
As I recall in my class 10th Elocution competition on the eve of Independence Day, I was given the word 'Freedom' to speak on for the next 2 minutes.

The first thought that came to my mind, "It's a piece of cake. Let me build it up around what all events happened on and before 15th August 1947. Later on, I shall proceed on where India stands now from the global perspective."

And so I did, arranged the line of thoughts accordingly and finished with what I had in my mind.

But to my surprise, I wasn't amongst the top prize getters. Instead, I was the only one who got a special mention by the jury. They acknowledged my skills of framing and delivering the content but I certainly didn't get the context right. What I was expected to speak upon was, "What does Freedom mean to me?"

I disagreed with them at that time. Quite rightly so, because as it goes in Elocution, you interpret your topic by yourself. And what else can you expect more from that word at such occasion?

But as I think about that now, I sort agree with the intent with which they did so. Because yes, India has got independence but what is it that makes a man plead for it. Cringe for it, again and again, till he achieves it. And as they said, unless you cringe for it, it isn't worth it.

But it so happens, you do not value the thing that you have been given for granted. And that, my friends, is the most vital essence of human behavior. Only by taking what we have for granted can we start to notice what we lack and can achieve. This strive for more is the cornerstone of human progress.

I'm not saying you shouldn't be aware of what you have and how you got it. I'm just saying that you shouldn't feel guilty for wanting more on top of what you've already got.

"}]
We have been independent for seventy years now they say; we have fought for our nation they say; citizens of India should be grateful for all the sacrifices made they say but… are we really independent yet?

“What about the billions of money we are in debt for? What about all the foreign alliances that we need to be able to grow faster? What about all the corrupt public servants who won’t let us prosper as a nation?” enquired my intellect.

According to me, a happy-go-lucky girl in her late teens, freedom actually means to be able to pursue my dreams without giving in to parental or financial pressure. It means being strong enough to question the government of all the wrong doings without having to worry about any circumstances. It means to endeavour against anti-nationalists who in my perspective are seen everywhere… they are racists, sexists, narrow minded people and at the top of them all stereotypes!

My personal perception of freedom is being able to talk to my parents about the guy I like, being able to dress as I like without having to worry about anyone commenting anything. Convincing people that food doesn't have anything to do with what caste I belong to. The happiness of not being called a “tomboy” when I tend to be loud, strong or initiative. Factually, most girls in the country don’t have such freedom.

Having said all this, I don’t mean that freedom is being irresponsible. It is to me the privilege of being myself without inducing harm to my motherland and not tolerating anyone doing so. Striving hard towards what drives the country to excel in all fields. Helping out the flaws of fellow citizens and not bearing a blind eye towards what’s unjust. Putting superlative efforts into doing or being what the nation needs me to be.Acting as an adult yet enjoying myself the perks of being childlike. Knowing and making people know that everyone has their own rights equally.

This is my take on independence and freedom. I am sure this is all a young adult has to say.
"}]
In our country, we have been provided with some fundamental rights. These fundamental rights provide us with

But have we really been given these freedoms? By listening to the word ‘freedom’ people might start making their own perceptions. Some may take it lightly and thus misuse it while the others might take it greatly and make ample use of it. It depends entirely on an individual as to how he or she wants to take his freedom ahead.

People everywhere dream of freedom. Children might think of freedom as a license to do whatever they want to do and there wouldn’t be any restrictions on them. Teenagers might think of freedom as being able to go to college all by themselves, carrying and showing off their expensive mobile phones and a license of skipping lectures.

I believe that freedom has both good and bad effects. It can either make a person or break a person. It can make a person independent but it can also make a person get influenced

To me freedom is getting an opportunity to know who I really am and discovering my strengths and weaknesses. By this would help me to be strong and face the world without any fears because then I’ll know myself in and out.

Freedom to me is living the way I want to, wearing clothes that I like, eating what I relish, speaking to whomsoever I want to or going to wherever my mind wanders to. Freedom is to let them be alone without injuring or killing them resulting in ecological imbalance and loss of natural beauty.

But does freedom really exist? Our country has lost the freedom as time has gone by. To some, freedom is still nothing but a dream. We say that we attained freedom a long time ago but are we making effective use of it?

Even after 70 years of attaining independence, we need huge army forces to protect our country because one can never know when someone comes over to strikes of the entire country. We still don’t have the safety assurance that we can live without war and violence. People are celebrating Independence Day worldwide but do they really know what freedom is?

A majority of the people do not express what they feel either due to some pressure or societal stereotypes pushed down their throats since birth. Boys cannot cry when they want to because they shouldn’t. Girls do not express love first because it’s the boys who should go down their knees and if that doesn’t happen maybe the girl would never be actually able to express her true feeling ever. Looking at the bigger picture we do see India as a free country with amazing rights and benefits but when you magnify the scenario you know that people are still caged up within themselves.

All this forces me to think about various people that suffer and the world that continues to neglect them. I can only hope for the best and let time be the one to give freedom to everyone.
"}]
President of the United States of America, Donald Trump in the early days of August, conveyed his endorsement to an immigration policy bill presented by Sen. Tom Cottons and Sen. David Perdue. This preliminary piece of legislation is set to impose large cutbacks on legal immigration to the United States from all corners of the world. Immigration policy was a big talking point in the current President’s campaign during the 2016 Elections. His proposed 20 feet wall on the south coast with Mexico was something of a catalyst in bringing unconfirmed voters to his side. Mass influx of drugs and ‘bad hombres’, as he called them, are still a realistic problem in the country.

Illegal immigration is and has been one of the very few clear political stances to come from the Trump camp, ever since the electoral win. Legal immigration however has evaded much of the attention for a little while, but not for long. Earlier in the year, headliners such as the “Muslim Ban“ took the world by storm although them failed to impose any huge changes or security measures to safeguard a possible movement of non-state actors into the American borders. This immigration bill, named the RAISE Act, however, is targeted at cutting down legal immigration by almost 50% in the ensuing decade, with an immediate cut of around 41% within this year. The bill proposes the implication of a skill based merit system to grant visas to applicants.

What is a skill based merit system?

In this system, one would need a cumulative of at least 30 points to be eligible to apply for immigration. It scores on factors such as age, highest educational degree, English ability, salary offered, investment plans in the US and a couple of smaller additional checkboxes such as winning a Nobel Prize or an Olympic Medal in the past 8 years.

For example, people under the age of 18 score 0 points,

18-21, 6 points

22-25, 8 points

26-30, 10 points, with a following decrease in points as age grows, with everyone above the age of 50 getting 0 points.

In terms of education, a US professional degree or doctorate in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics would yield you the most number of points (13) and anything less than a high school diploma awards the lowest (0)

Individuals with good English proficiency are pushed forward in this system, although the metric for judging this proficiency is yet to attain clarity.

If you happen to have a job offer worth more than $150,000 you’ll be awarded 13 points, while anything less than $78,000 gives a 0.

Small business investors in foreign currency to the US would also see a positive response under this system. And no, the Nobel Prize and Olympic Medal aren’t exaggerations. If you happen to have either of those in the back pocket, you’d see an automatic 25 points (Nobel Prize or comparable award) or 15 (Olympic medal) being awarded to the tally. Just a small observation, there have been only two recipients of the Nobel Prize before the age of 30.

What does this mean for the regular Indian?

Most Indian immigrants to the US do so with a singular objective of attaining a foreign Masters, which in most cases lies in the field of science in general. For anyone else, students of art, literature, business professionals etc. this might pose an uphill battle. The addition of wages on a hierarchal scale for approval is something that has existed as an unsaid truth over the past years, but now it probably is as clear as day. The more you make in dollar, the easier it is to keep making it. At the same time, students who decide on working via a consultancy might face more obstacles than usual, with more regulations discouraging the practice.

You can check if your current point tally can make the cut for immigrating to the US here.

The bill is expected to fail tremendously. Members of Republican and Democratic Party have voiced their concerns over the cosmopolitan bias that clouds the very nature of this bill. It is with a level of certainty and hope I say, surely not, a piece of legislation can’t be this openly insulting of the vast spectrum of individuals willing to live their lives in the borders of the United States. On a more comical note, by endorsing a bill asking specifically for people effluent in English and highly qualified in their job, did the POTUS disqualify himself too?
"}]
STEPHEN CHERLA is the student of SPHOORTHY ENGINEERING COLLEGE, I might fall short of words while saying about him, he is the MAN ON FIRE. To start with where what and why am talking about him. He is born in the year 1996 may 23rd to the proud parents C. Bhasker and C. Vandana.
Intelligence to me isn't just being book-smart or having a college degree, it's trusting your gut instincts, being intuitive, thinking outside the box, and sometimes just realizing that things need to change and being smart enough to change it.
Stephen is just like this, a person who believes in himself and can change things from wrong to right. Talking about his life, he had a pretty good start at the college, blessed with good supportive friends and most importantly the faculty members who were very supportive at each and every step he has taken in his life to grow into a better individual. He loves playing video games and watching animation which made him attracted towards it and as a result, Graphics and Animation was all he wanted to do in his life (A person's hobbies can even turn into their life ambitions). He started exploring and learning new technologies like Ar and Vr and started learning new tools like 3D modelling softwares, Game rendering Engines like unity and unreal. He is the person who not only tried and succeeded in developing himself but also trained his juniors which in turn made them to develop many projects . His strategy is that the goal of education is not to increase the amount of knowledge but to create the possibilities for a child to invent and discover and to create men who are capable of doing new things. Our college is one of the pioneers which developed prototypes/products on Ar and Vr and this was possible just because of STEPHEN and his crew. The sky is the limit for his dreams, he not only dreams but strives hard to develop his dreams into reality. He along with his friends did few projects with which our college got recognized even more.

THEIR PROJECTS WERE:

1. COVER UP- Automated Car Cover

2. ARCHY BOOKS- Augmented Reality Educational Books

3. ARCHVIZ- Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality Architecture Visualization.

4. SMART PROMO- Platform to create your own Augmented Reality Advertising Campaigns.

1. SHIVA TRILOGY (Immortals of Meluha, The Secret of the Nagas, Oath of the Vayuputras).

I never showed much interest in Mythological books but this has given a perspective of mythological books and made me get attracted towards these kinda novels.

Coming to what this is about:: Amish Tripathi weaves a splendid but totally fictional and fantasied account of Shiva's travails. The legends of the past have been recreated and God's are humanized. I loved all the 3 books with the second one being my most favorite. These are those kind of books which i have completed in just one day. When it comes to mythological stories, most of us are used to reading tales that usually comprise the age old depiction of good vs evil. I liked the idea of how Amish took the middle path "Asuras are not evil. They are just different from the Devas".The main reason why I feel these books are good is because of its uniqueness, the way tension arises between people and especially anxiety in me ;) , the dilemmas that Shiva undergoes and the way suspense builds at the end. Without revealing much I would say that it traces beautifully the journey of Shiva from being a tribal.

Suggestion: Get all the three books at a time or else you will die out of anxiety :P

2. TELL ME YOUR DREAMS :

Ah! Sidney Sheldon can I marry your brain?. This had to be in the top 5 list as this was the first book with which made me go crazy for novels. If it is Sidney i just grab the book without even knowing what it is about. It is actually pretty difficult to choose among his books as I had to choose only one. The endings of his books are just unpredictable. The mystery in this novel lies within a woman named Ashley Patterson who suffers from multiple disorder personalities. The other 2 personalities were created when she was raped by her father. It's better to say less about this books as i might spoil the anxiety.

3. WHITE TIGER:

This is by Aravind Adiga. This was actually recommended by my friend and I definitely see why. The novel examines issues of religion, caste , loyalty, corruption and poverty in India. It revolves around Balram, who worked his way out from his low caste and how he became successful by overcoming all the obstacles.
