I've made no secret of the fact that my biggest weakness, apart from video games, are books. I just can't seem to stop reading books, I absolutely love and adore reading and it comes as no surprise then that my favourite place to be in any new city I visit is a giant library that I can get lost in and spend the whole day carefully drinking coffee and reading so as to not piss off the librarian who keeps a watchful gaze on us errant book lovers. I recently came across an article which featured pictures of some really beautiful libraries and this one here is my personal list of which ones I want to visit. Check it out!

1. Tianjin Binhai Library — China

TIME OR LAZINESS

Time comes and goes,

Laziness are their foes.

It’s in your hands which side you pick,

Hope you won’t get lazy or sick.

We rely on time we claim,

But we couldn’t keep up its name.

That’s when laziness takes us away;

From the dearest time, who always showed us when to leave or stay.

Now time is just a show case,

New or old piece, but always ticks in the same ways.

We spend time in our convenience,

But we don’t disturb our lazy brains.

Time is equal to God they say,

The almighty gives us time for everything,
Yet we forget to pray.

Never say “I’m busy or I don’t have much time”,

But train your brains to turn away from that lazy enzyme,

Which keeps cleaving away the precious time.

Every new day which starts with a sun rise,

Should end with positive vibes.

Just beware not to turn lazy,

Or you’ll end up being hazy.

Do what you have to do today,

Watch out not to tremble in a lazy way.

Remember that time has also given you birth .

You must be thinking that the above phrase is something you have never heard.

It’s the time which formed you in the womb.

It’s the time who made you this way.

We all know, that one day we’ll end up in a tomb.

It’s your choice to end it in the right time,

Or being lazy throughout your lifetime.

THE FALL OF TIANGONG-1

The Tiangong1 , China’s first space station has fallen back to earth after 7 years of its journey around the planet. Launched on Sept 29,2011 tiangong1 served its basic missions quite impressively. It was in March 2016,Chinese have lost their control on the Tiangong1 and the exact reason was disclosed. It was a big blow for them and was a matter of worry as its atmospheric entry was inevitable and out of control apart from the only thrusters control they had. It was on 0544 hours yesterday,Tiangong1 finally touched down the Earth in Pacific ocean although it missed Point NEMO(also called the Space Cementry). It was an end to a greatest feat performed by Chinese in setting up their own space station.

NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) is a new and an effective way of detecting more and more unexplored and undetected exoplanets. TESS is a substitute for Kepler Telescope. TESS would now detect the exoplanets by using the phenomenon of Transit . Its mission was designated for 2 years and it would be launched on April 16 by SpaceX’s Falcon9.

Now-a-days suicide has become so common. According to statistics, about 800,000 people commit suicide worldwide every year. Even in India people commit suicide due to various reasons. And it won’t be a surprise if we say, each one of us gets such thoughts at least once in our lifetime. But everyone might not think of committing suicide seriously. It may be just a thought that passes through our mind when we are facing problems.

Who doesn’t face problems? Why take the example of someone else. I’ll consider myself as an example. I have faced a lot of problems and suffered a lot since my childhood. My life has never been easy. I am constantly battling with my problems and so is everyone else. The battle may differ from person to person, but the pain is same.

Everything we do in our life is an option that we choose. Suicide is also an option. But I won’t choose that. Do you know why? Here’s the reasons:

1. People say that those who commit suicide become ghost. And I don’t want to become a ghost.

2. I don’t want to wear that white saree as shown in films, coz I love colours.

3. Roaming around the world alone is no fun. It feels so lonely.

Well the reasons are so childish and stupid right. We come across some situations in our life which seem unbearable. In those moments we cannot find a ray of sunshine. We won’t be able to find happiness. Even a single and simple smile seems like an alien thing. That is the time when we need to crack such stupid jokes and smile, coz there’s no one to make us smile. How much ever stupid the joke might be, it doesn’t matter. What matters is you. A simple smile that comes from the heart can divert us from suicidal thoughts and take us back to our happy moments. The moments that we cherish are because they are filled with happiness. After all we all live thinking of our past happiness and hope for such moments in future.

People commit suicide so that they can escape from their misery. When a person dies he may be free from suffering, but he’ll also lose the good things in life. How good does it feel when the people you love call you by your name? There won’t be anyone to call you anymore. How good does it feel to stay in the warm embrace of our loved ones? There won’t be anyone to give us a warm hug. What about your dreams and ambitions? Those can never be fulfilled. You may become the person you dream of becoming one day, but now it can’t become true because you are trying to take your life away.

For you, it’s just your life, a single life. But for the people in your life, it’s a part that goes away. A mother loses her child, a sister loses her sibling, a better half loses their soul mate and a friend loses a person who has been his/her important person next to family. Each one of them loses a person in their life. Just imagine how much pain you would feel when you see the person you love the most laying on the ground lifeless. It’s like your whole world shatters. So if you are trying to take your life away, you are inflicting the same pain on the people in your life.

If you are taking away your life, you are not just taking away the pain and sufferings, but also the good and beautiful things in life. Don’t pay the price of losing all good things in life, for taking away your sufferings. Don’t put full stop to your life, put a semicolon. The semicolon represents a sentence the author could have ended, but chose not to. The author is “YOU” and the sentence is your “LIFE”.

So stay strong. Say no to suicide.

Many of us undermine ourselves when it comes to thinking greatly about something and channeling it out on a piece of paper. It could also be the opposite where we think we ponder and narrate well in our mind but when it comes out, others don't feel the same way about it. That certain gap between our brain and the writing differs a great deal due to various problems like grammar or proficiency in the language. Certain individuals who bridge that gap and make it as narrow as possible are called esteemed writers.

According to a person who reads books, magazines, articles, blogs, etc... and myself, a conclusion can be made: Everybody has a different style of writing, it just needs to connect well with readers. When it does, that's when you know you've got the right one and then you can build up a foundation from it.

These tips might seem obvious to people but still, going back to the basics is how you master your craft:

1. Grammar

It seems like a joke because it is one of the key factors in first speaking, let alone writing. But let's be honest, when you re-read your work(or maybe you don't), you'll find mistakes. And ever since we grew into a bigger digital frontier, where the quick text back or the short forms of words are favored, we laid back on the rules. That's why these aspects should be checked the most. It comes from experience of finding a typo in a published book of mine that my mom pointed out. I freaked out. If she can see it, then so can the world!

2. Vocabulary

It's not that you need to learn more and more words only. You have to learn how to use them in a sentence well. Take the word 'Bad', for example. Below are so many various ways to use other words to replace 'Bad'.

The only advisory you should follow from now on is whenever you search for a meaning or definition of a certain word, refer at least three to five different sentence examples so that you'll know how to completely use it.

3. Avoid rants/vents

To cash a certain topic and gain instant fame, certain people rant upon a platform with their views and opinions. Ranting/venting is defined as long, angry and impassioned writing. A simple word is complaining but I don't wish to offend. Yes, I also agree that at certain times where there is sorrow and melancholy, or fury, then ranting can be used but not in the most convenient way of constant complaints. Twisting certain aspects of a scenario with some facts or statistics can give nuances of it on paper but deep understanding to the readers' minds.

4. Simple Writing

Yes, this sort of contradicts point number 2 but when you keep reading posts, blogs or articles you will know what I'm talking about. Sometimes, you read something and you just can't go till the end because the number of intellectual words bombarding your face is too much to handle. We fail to understand because their writing seems like a dictionary's flash-flood. So staying simple is the best way to convey your thoughts to the world.

5. Planning

Planning is key in a great story. Keep a rough idea in your head(or note down) of your story and what all you must cover in it. Don't make it too long or too short. A beginning, middle and end must be prepared before-hand.

6. Paragraphs and points

This tip doesn't require much explanation. It's like our exam writing in which we divide our long answer into paragraphs or points. The only two reasons why we do this is to:

1. Make our answer pretty, spacious and worth reading and

2. To indicate a change in the topic or the next part.

So dividing the story into points or paragraphs is helpful. If not, then how did you read this story so far?

Don't leave because of what I said just yet. We're approaching our last one. Finally,

7. Title

The title of your story shoulders everything you've done. If the title is not good, then all the hard work that you put in will be meaningless because by seeing the title, the reader will click it open. So be creative, think well, give a title that will make a person want to know more. It has to be like click-bait, just not that obvious. Don't add 'Find out more by clicking...' Like I said, bring nuances into the picture.

For instance, instead of

I know you're probably thinking, 'Oh the exam is one month away, I'm a one night batting kinda dude', I'm gonna have to stop you right there because A) that is a terrible idea and you are not as competent as you believe you are and B) You are capable of much more, but only when you prepare for it in advance. Look, you guys are awesome and intelligent and stuff but you've got to understand that you have limits and if you break them while doing important stuff like studying for your future, you are going to end up burning out and screwing the pooch for your exam. No, the correct way to deal with this stuff is to understand that you need to prepare in advance because you cannot and will not achieve your goals if you only do it half heartedly or in a hurry.

Listen to me, studying is like sharpening a blade. The longer you sharpen in, the deeper it'll cut. You can also try and sharpen it the day before battle and all it'll do is flatten some noses on the battlefield and put your life at risk.

What are you still waiting for? Go prepare for your exams already!
"}]

Here are some more things you should know about him.

1. He was the beacon of secularism

People remember Sam Manekshaw fondly for his fantastic leadership at the helm of our army while fending off offensives from across the border and also for being a supremely intelligent and quick witted man who took no nonsense from anyone, primarily of whom was former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi. Born April 3rd, 1914, Sam Manekshaw went through life like a champion and categorically made the right choices all along, although I'm not sure if he would agree with them. Here's what you need to know about him.

1. His father refused to let him join the army:

Coming to the hackathon itself, we received a lot of positive feedback and the team didn’t hesitate in complimenting the excellent organizational skills of the organizers that helped make such a big event a grand success. Each participant from VBIT also appreciated the support extended by their respective faculties as they couldn’t attend a lot of classes and despite that the faculty took in the initiative in helping the participants so that they don’t miss out on anything.

txt
rich_1522646404580

On asking about the overall experience, the team was quick in giving the answer, the overall experience was “Adventurous” as the team from VBIT likes to claim. We certainly wanted to find out how the team felt when they got to know that they’ve bagged the second price and turns out, they were left speechless as they names were called out and although they had a positive hope, they were spellbound for more than a moment. The team explained their interest to use the money that they won in the competition to further develop, improvise and implement the app in the near future.

Talking about the Mentors, Arun Ganji Sir and Manga Beetoju ma’am, the team couldn’t be more thankful for the motivational and technical support received from them before, through and after the whole event. The mentors from VBIT were available through each walk of the Hackathon and helped with all the necessary arrangements so that the team can focus on one thing, winning!
"}]
On April 2nd, 1800, German composer, pianist and who now is considered a giant of classical music, Ludwig van Beethoven debuted his first ever symphony in front of an audience in Vienna, the city where he would eventually live his entire life and be buried in. I often wonder, with people as great as him, if they ever knew the fame and legacy they would leave behind once they leave the world.

The famous composer who eventually was known as part of the Three Bs (the other of whom is Bach), Beethoven's work in C minor is now world famous and he is, to this day, extensively studied.

The symphony is clearly indebted to Beethoven's predecessors, particularly his teacher Joseph Haydn as well as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, but nonetheless has characteristics that mark it uniquely as Beethoven's work, notably the frequent use of sforzandi and the prominent, more independent use of wind instruments. Sketches for the finale are found among the exercises Beethoven wrote while studying counterpoint under Johann Georg Albrechtsberger in the spring of 1797.

The premiere took place on 2 April 1800 at the K.K. Hoftheater nächst der Burg in Vienna. The concert program also included his Septet and Piano Concerto No. 2, as well as a symphony by Mozart, and an aria and a duet from Haydn's oratorio The Creation. This concert effectively served to announce Beethoven's talents to Vienna.

Let us remember the giant he was on such an important day in his own life, a day which gave us music as we know it.
"}]
