Event organizing is something every one of us have done in one or the other point of our life. But this engineering student have taken event organizing into next level with his startup KEYMAKERS events. Lets find out more about this young entrepreneur and his startup...

Q: Can we know more about you?

I am Ayush Patel studying 3rd year in CVSR college of engineering. I started this start up called Keymakers about 3 months ago. It’s an event organizing startup. How different we are from others is, we give people a chance to vote for the type of event they want to have or attend.

Q: Why did you start a business? Why didn’t you take up a job instead?

I am into this event organizing kind of things for past three years. During this period, I have done various events and played different roles. So, what I identified was, this is where I just want to lead my career as an event organizer as I am more into this field. When you are going to an event with 60 people, how many of them are actually interested ? Its only 10-15 members. That's the reason I worked on this idea.

txt
rich_1550128271061

Q: How did you come up with the idea for your business?

See when I go to any event it’s not because I actually like it but my friends want to go. Then I felt it would be great when every one is given a chance to vote for event they want to go. It might have happened to you as well. There are very few events which you actually want to go. If a standup comedy show is coming up 15 people are interested to go, if a concert is coming up 20-25 people are interested to go but not all the people who are going to it. So, I thought I should start something with which these issues can be addressed.

Q. How did you manage to get funding in the initial days?

Well, these are the initial days, we complete 4 months of formation of Keymakers by Feb 28th, and one thing we know for a fact is, investors wouldn't be interested in the idea until they see it working.
Since, we have the first event coming up on March 10th which is a Youth Summit chosen by the students who voted in the Keymakers platform, for us most of the time is into finding sponsors for it right now, we got people like KTR, Kalki Subramanyam, Sri Charan Lakkaraju and DSV Frederick finalized for the event and we also have an office in place with an extra team of 6 people recently hired specially for the event.
Although we do have some sponsors finalized, I wouldn't be taking any names, until we start with pass sales for the event.

txt
rich_1550128271064

Q: Who were the people who encouraged and helped you shape your ideas?

I wouldn't say people, it's more about the experience I've gained until now helped me a lot.

Sameer and I shape the idea of Keymakers, and people who encouraged me and my partners to go ahead with this, were the students like us, who faced the same problem about of not being given a choice of which event they really want to go to, because right now while we live in a world of democracy with whatever filters we want to want to put in our lives, why not have a voting platform for events too.

In fact, to be honest, the entire idea revolves only around customer eccentricity and customer experience, because through Keymakers the people have to right to choose what event you really want to go to.
And talking about my partners with this startup,

I'll start with Ameya, she is probably the best thing that happened to the company, I've known her for her work for past 2 years while we were colleagues in AIESEC, and believe me, she is the most trust-able person to have in your team if you are part of any sort of endeavor, she is the Chief Operating Officer of the company, while she also handles the HR and Content being put up at the same time.

Next would Sameer, he's been my best friend since past 2 years, he and I were the ones who made the idea of Keymakers, he is a want to-be rapper from Mumbai, but without him I don't see myself anywhere, he is the Co-CEO of the company (yes Sameer and I both decided to be CEO together, so ended up with Co-CEO) also, he handles all the finances and the legalities of the company.

Next are Zubair and Zairik, they are 2 kids in their twelfth grade who just turned 18, yes you heard that right. But don't underestimate them just because they are 18, they are the reason why company's Marketing is on point today.

Zubair makes the posters we put up in social media, and his designs are more professional than your best Graphic Designers while Zairik keeps up with the analytics, of the website, social media, when to post what and at what time should things go up. Yes, all of this is these 2 together. Zubair is the Chief Design Officer of the company and Zairik is the Chief Marketing Officer.

(From left) Ayush Patel,CEO; Ameya,HR;Sameer,Co-CEO,Zairik,CMO;Zubair,CDO.

txt
rich_1550128271067

Q.When did you start your business?

From November 2018.

txt
rich_1550128271068

Q. What are your strengths that make you keep doing what you are doing?

Our strengths come from the experience we have gained until now and the fact that the people actually liked the idea of the company and want us to it, which is what keeps us moving.

txt
rich_1550128271069

Q. What’s special about your product or service?

The whole idea of our startup is new. we ask all the people to vote for three weeks about the type of the event they want and based on the majority we organize an event and it’s an open platform where any user can vote for their choice of event?

txt
rich_1550128271070

Q. Do you have plans to expand?

OF-COURSE we do, but not now, maybe after a year or something when we have covered the entire Hyderabad market, have proper investment set up, we would expand to the metro cities.

Kudos keymakers from stuMagz and we wish you all the best for all the future events.
"}]

People, today are so absorbed in their own opinions, own beliefs and own faiths that scarcely are they willing to accept new and more creative insights of others. Often, they begin discussing about something but these supposed discussions get converted into arguments and miss out on the main point, they were built upon. Hence, in today’s world, “A healthy discussion is a Rare Prospect”.

A discussion is a process of exchange of ideas between two or more individuals about a particular topic to reach a conclusion. Each participant in a discussion is a band of ideas representing a deep insight and different approach to the topic. A discussion can be healthy as well as unhealthy. It can be an amalgamation of knowledgeable ideas as well as futile activity of unrelated arguments. Everything, entirely rests on the shoulders of the speaker and the listener's.

For a discussion to bloom and reach a mutual conclusion, here are some hacks you must keep in mind.

1. Speak, and Let Others Speak! - This is the basic principle on which a discussion thrives upon. One must have the ability to speak and the courage to listen. If a discussion was only about speaking, then it would have been called a “speech”. However, it is not, since it is a two way process of speaking and listening.

Often, it is observed a discussion gets heated up into an argument. This is because, it is a human irony that whenever someone else is speaking about his/her opinions about a topic, a tornado of ideas begin exploding into your mind but when it is your turn to speak, you might get completely blank. This makes you prone to being impatient, to just speak and be done with it whenever a point pops up into your head, but if you intervene and won’t let the speaker complete, you may lay down an opportunity for someone else to intervene as well and when they will join in too, then there will no discussion but just a chaotic din of several unrelated ideas which can range from being pointless to completely pointless.
Therefore, always remember that whenever this tornado tries to take siege of your mind, take a pen and a notebook and note it down as an investment for your turn.

2. Pay Attention! - If the discussion is about cats and dogs, imagine someone talking about Game of thrones. No, it doesn’t make any sense and it never will but that is what lack of attention does to us. Mind is a powerful tool. It can teleport you to places your heart desires in matter of few seconds, even in the most crucial of situations, but the challenge is to keep the mind sane at all times. It may seem like a pointless argument but it is a part of our everyday reality, for example, most of us while writing exams have thought about that interesting series we are currently binge watching, or that favorite song from that phenomenal movie that doesn’t leave our heads. This is not bad at all the times but during a discussion, attention is a must for we may end up speaking things unasked for.

To prove this point, imagine yourself sitting in a group discussion round for the job you desperately want. They have given an abstract topic for discussion which is “Bollywood Celebrities are good role models.” Now, one must remember that it is a statement and not a question, so avoid countering the topic. Had they wanted you to affirm or negate the topic, the topic would have been like “Are Bollywood Celebrities good role models?”. However, they do not require your negations, so you, going on in length about how they are not good role models is completely unasked for and may cost you rejection. This is the most common trap into which most of us fall or at least stumble. Hence, Always Pay Attention!

3. Keep Your Points Crisp! - Beating about the bush is never intriguing or engaging, rather it is monotonous and it annoys listeners as much as it wearies the speaker. Whatever you are speaking, it must be straight, crisp and to the point. It is better to speak about one idea at a time rather than hovering around like a bee over bazillion ideas skipping the conclusion of each. Like they say, it is never good to be a Jack of all trades and Master of none for what you are saying will fail to create any impact other than drowsing the listeners.
It is a misconception that quantity of words matter over quality. They never did and they never will. Quantity can never create the same impact as the quality will. One word or thousands, if they lack quality, they are futile.

4. Slow and Steady wins the Race! - This may seems like a contradiction to the former point, only it is not. What this point means is to never be a participant of this mad race of finishing a sentence or sentences in order to transfer the burden of speaking to someone else, just because it makes you nervous. If you hurry into yours words, they will stop meaning anything and your voice will just become an emission of series of disrupting sounds, unpleasant to ears.
Always, take your own time to finish speaking. However, it does not mean you speak five words in one minute but it means that it is okay if at times you stumble or speak slowly because it is necessary for you to enable your listeners to grasp what you are saying. Fast sentences will create a chaos which is going to benefit none in the discussion. Your ideal objective must be to make your listeners understand whatever point you are making.

5. Think Before You Speak! - Very common thought. You must be hearing this since years and may or may not been giving a penny of your thought to it. However, it is real. It is a point which is indispensable in a discussion. You can never have a discussion if you forget to keep this in mind.
JK Rowling, in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, through the character of Albus Dumbledore said, “Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. Capable of both inflicting injury, and remedying it.” This is absolutely true of all the words, be it spoken or written. You may never know, what you are saying may serve you but offend others. A healthy discussion is never offensive. You must always respect opinions, faiths, beliefs, choices, sentiments and integrity of an individual before speaking anything. Hence, always be aware of the power which words hold before you make a point.

6. Do not Pretend! - We are not omniscient beings, we are human beings prone to making mistakes, having an error of judgment or having a flawed opinion about something. However, our beauty lies in our ability to embrace and appreciate a new, more creative and much better thought process even if that did not originate from us. We must not be trapped in the shackles of ego and pretend to know everything in a discussion. We must be much willing to accept better opinions of others and appreciate them.
In simple words, stick to your point but if you come across a point way better than yours, be willing to open up to it. Do not pretend to be always right because nobody is always right. Everyone makes mistake. Hence, we must have the courage to owning up to them and learn and mold ourselves into a more righteous person everyday.

These basic pointers are true for all kinds of discussions, be it professional group discussion round or an informal discussion between friends.

Just remember that “Patience is the Key” for every pointer. You must have patience to be a part of a healthy discussion otherwise it will be rendered meaningless.
"}]

I stand in the mirror

And I stand staring at it

Not quiet sure who's real

Not quiet sure about the one who kneels in...

I stand in the mirror,
As they come in small packages!

But I see staring back,
A girl with grown up accolades...

I stand in the mirror, licking the ice cream off my hand,

But stares back in silence and lost hood.

The girl with a broken glass of wine in her hand...

I stand in the mirror, hugging a teddy bear so dearly,

Somehow the girl stares back standing right next to that rear mirror,

Yet she's far beyond distant than she'd seem in her eyes...

I stand in the mirror,
Singing to the marryland,

But the girl recites inspirational free verses rhyming with mine,

As if that's enough to make her stand aloft a while...

I stand in the mirror calling the universe mine.

Filling in colours and glitters which are popping out of the unicorn head and there are no lines.

To understand, I try,
Why she keeps staring back at me with color crimson in her eyes.

What is it that she lacks?

Why doesn't she play around colours alike?

I stand in the mirror, frightened, shivering,

Yet, strong somehow in defiance

She looks at me like an anxious, lost soul in a crawl out of hollowness.

There's a brawl in her head... thunderous to rage an ocean's wrath beheld...

I wish to hold her hand and ask her if she wants to sit with my teddy bear?

As I stand in the mirror, longer I stare at her, longer are the trails of blood upheaven from beneath her skin.

Horendously she's bloodstream bathed...

Does light reflect the most out of pain!?

Learnt I have from collapsing waves in globes of her disdain.

Hilst I stand in the mirror, guessing if the skyfall has her throughout her being.

If she is in torment or the torment's definition is engraved in bones of her loin.

Behest she is for me to be strengthened,

Says, I am a vision of what should if could have been...

Standing in the mirror,
I see the sky upon her,

Vortexing out the silhouettes while thining her revelations appeared.

My hair is growing longer akin since outwardly I'm peeping in...

Standing infront of the mirror,
I see the queen helming her thoughts discerning about why our palms are same.

The wings break blood and gravitates her awayward me,

Maybe it's a better world there
where this seed of inception might not go in vain??

Most people feel bad about themselves from time to time. Feelings of low self-esteem may be triggered by being treated poorly by someone else recently or in the past, or by a person's own judgments of him or herself. This is normal.

Low self-esteem is a constant companion for too many people, especially those who experience depression, anxiety, phobias, psychosis, delusional thinking, or who have an illness or a disability. If you are one of these people, you may go through life feeling bad about yourself needlessly. Low self-esteem keeps you away from enjoying life, doing things you want to do, and working toward personal goals.

You have a right to feel good about yourself.

However, it can be very difficult to feel good about yourself when you are under the stress of having symptoms that are hard to manage, when you are dealing with a disability, when you are having a difficult time, or when others are treating you badly. At this time, it is easy to be drawn into a downward spiral of lower and lower self-esteem. For instance, you might feel bad if someone insults you, or you are having a difficult time getting along with someone in your family. Then you begin to give yourself negative self-talk, like "I'm no good." That may make you feel so bad about yourself that you do something to hurt yourself or someone else. So it's very important to overcome this so called 'Low Self Esteem'.

There are few things which you may consider for yourself, which
will make you feel better about yourself. 1. Live in the moment
When you are focused on the moment, you can choose your actions consciously and wisely, unaffected by the hurts of your past and unconcerned by worries or hopes about the future.

2. Develop awareness
When we’re aware, we can recognize how we are responding and reacting to our own fears, creating a moment between our emotions and our actions. We can then choose to respond in a healthier way.

3. Be non-judgmental
When we approach our lives non-judgmentally, we simply accept ourselves, our experiences, our failures and successes and other people just as they are, neither good or bad, without pride or shame.

4. Stay connected to yourself. That can help you to develop a sense of connection to yourself and reduce your people-pleasing ways by allowing you to stop the autopilot thinking and behavior that keeps you jumping to please others without thinking of your own needs.

Participate in your own life. It encourages us to become active and assertive in creating our own lives. Awareness of your thoughts and choosing your responses to them enables you to take action and participate in your own life.

5. Lets not attach too much, it is the goal of mindfulness.

6. Show compassion towards yourself. You deserve love as much as anyone else. Self-compassion simply means providing yourself with the love, safety and acceptance you need.

I have attended Global Student Entrepreneur Awards arranged by Entrepreneurs Organisation at Pune on 5/1/19. Out of many applicants only 8 startups were shortlisted for the finals, I got an opportunity to pitch to the CEO and MD of Mumbai angel network Nanditha and Sachin Oswal. That was an unforgettable experience as I have to compete with student entrepreneurs from top institutes like IIT madras and NMIMS.

I stood second in the event and won a cash prize of 10k. I was blown away by the way the 1st winner is bringing a change in the farmers life, as he was making agriculture easy.

The 3 winners from EO global student entrepreneur awards (gsea) Pune were taken for a 3 day event in Indore arranged by EO INDIA.

Ritesh Mastipuram from O2 spa gave up on fat salaries in USA to start something on his own and my favourite Vishal Juneja who spoke about technology and future, which blew my mind. A warrior fought inside his heart

But a disease tore him apart

It was very painful, but he was strong

Hope made him believe, nothing could go wrong.

He was another boy with another story

But something about him, held a different glory

He might as well be just another person

But his strength was an entirely different version.

He was suffering from cancer,

How? There was no answer

He had come a long way

Peace was left far at the bay

Friends and family started visiting him almost everyday

Hope made him feel, he was going back to the bay

But there was not much time left

Happiness was now taken away in theft.

He kept fighting, and for once almost recovering

But the death was on him like a canopy hovering

But till the end, there was a huge smile on his face

He was now starting to lose his pace

Then, a tear peeked its way out

Almost over, he was now fading out

Don't go, came a whisper

On her forehead, he kissed her.

You promised to be always there for me

Stay, i plea

I always be there, he made the promise

You're someone, I will always miss.

He linked his pinky finger to her tiny one

Gone was her only box full of fun

He closed his eyes, squeezing his pain away

Only to realize, he went completely away from bay

He was a very strong person

But things had then started worsen

He still is always there for her

Everyday, was now a blur

This is for everyone who is fighting

For you, my heart is writing

It's a tough battle, but you my darling are a warrior

You will win, there is no barrier.

Have hope,

You'll cope.

Just another Sparkle
"}]
Right from childhood we strive and work hard for a day to enter into a professional world. Campus placement is the big event of your graduate life. It becomes the hottest topic of conversation amongst friends and family as you get closer to the date. Life seems burdensome if you are not clear about your choice of function/industry.

Here is the interview of Nikhil Vallore from Keshav Memorial Institute of Technology, who cracked the placement drive of KONY LABS with an internship and placement

txt
rich_1549252499979

A)I have faced 3 interviews till now, They were all different, One was mostly concentrated on Technical knowledge which I liked, One had fixed set of questions and the other saw only the ability to speak. But in all three at different levels, I was more awarded for being self.

txt
rich_1549252499974

Q) How do you manage work life and student life?

A) It was very difficult to manage work and student life balance. At the start, I didn't find much difficulty but as the year progressed and the exams were arriving it became tougher. As we all know most of us read one day before for our exams I was able to manage my academics.

txt
rich_1549252499975

Q) Do you have anything to say that could inspire the younger generation?

A)People say " BE YOURSELF", Don't pressurize yourselves. I believe till we are settled we can't be ourselves. I feel that we always have to take some sort of pressure to keep ourselves attentive and sincere towards our work.

txt
rich_1549252499976

Q) If you were given an opportunity, what kind of project would you plan to work on and how would that impact the society? (In a positive manner)

A) If I would be given a chance I would like to work on a project which I named "DCerts" its an application in blockchain where each student would have a profile and all the universities, organizations, etc would certify or acknowledge student in this platform. Since it is decentralized as it is on blockchain there would be no fraud such as fake certificates or fake universities issuing the certificates.

txt
rich_1549252499977

Q) Your suggestions to aspirants.

A) "Never Stop learning" - learning might not be related only to technologies or subject but it might be as generic as "What situation was the case during 9/11 attacks?" Always be encouraged to learn new things. If you are not placed in any companies after attending many don't be sad , As in every batch we can see in interview knowledge plays 50% role but to get chance to prove that 50% knowledge we should have 30% luck and the remaining 20% would be the interest, confidence and all such things you have generated by trying different things.

txt
rich_1549252499978

Q)As all fear before attending the campus drive, sometimes the topper can't bag the opportunity, what is the factor that students must seek for getting the placement?

A)Due to fear of interviews, many students lose the opportunity to bag the offer. I have had a lot of fear in facing interviews but I think the conversion of this fear into energy to express ourselves would be helpful to get the offer.
"}]
