So, which one are you?

What are the different types of entrepreneurship?

Here are some of the different types of entrepreneurship and the key characteristics of each:

1. Small business entrepreneurship

Small business entrepreneurs are the backbone of the American economy. They make up the vast majority of businesses in the United States, and they are responsible for a large portion of job creation.

There are many different types of small business entrepreneurship, but all share some common characteristics. Small business entrepreneurs are typically highly motivated and have a clear vision for their business. They are also willing to take risks and work hard to make their vision a reality.

Small business entrepreneurship can be a very rewarding experience, both financially and personally.

txt
rich_1667372780374

2. Social entrepreneurship

Social entrepreneurs are those who identify social problems and work to solve them through innovative, entrepreneurial solutions.

Social entrepreneurship is a relatively new field, but it is growing rapidly. Social entrepreneurs are often passionate about their work and have a strong commitment to making a difference in the world.

Like all entrepreneurs, social entrepreneurs face many challenges, but they also have the potential to make a tremendous impact.

txt
rich_1667372780375

3. Corporate entrepreneurship

Corporate entrepreneurship is the process of developing new business ideas and bringing them to market within a large corporation. This type of entrepreneurship is often driven by a desire to innovate and create value for the company, rather than simply make a profit.

Corporate entrepreneurship is often seen as a way to bring new ideas and innovations to an established company. Many corporate entrepreneurs are motivated by the challenge of taking on a big company and making a success of it.

Corporate entrepreneurship can be a very rewarding experience, but it is also very challenging. If you are interested in starting your own business within a large corporation, you will need to be prepared for a lot of hard work and dedication.

These entrepreneurs are driven by creativity and an opportunity to make a difference in the world. They’re often willing to take risks to bring their vision to life.

As an innovator, you’re constantly thinking of new ideas and ways to improve upon existing products, services, or processes. You’re always looking for ways to make things better, faster, or more efficient. When you see a problem, you view it as an opportunity to create a solution.

Innovative entrepreneurs are often passionate about their ideas and driven to change the world. If you’re an innovator, you may have trouble working within the confines of traditional businesses or organizations. You may prefer to work independently or start your own business so that you can have the freedom to innovate.

txt
rich_1667372780377

5. Scalable startup entrepreneurship

Scalable startups focus on creating a product or service that can be scaled up quickly and efficiently to meet customer demand. This type of startup requires significant capital investment to get off the ground but has the potential to generate large profits if successful.

Scalable startups are often technology-based, as they require sophisticated systems and infrastructure to support their growth. They typically have a small team of highly-skilled employees and may outsource key functions such as manufacturing or distribution.

Scalable startups are often founded by experienced entrepreneurs who have a clear vision for how to grow their businesses quickly and efficiently.

Some mention that they choose OU because of it's reputation in another country like Somalia and Turkey.

While there were a few that confess that they get to find the hidden spots in the campus.

There are some who prefer to visit the university library because of it's collection and resourcefulness provided for the students.

Wishing y'all the Best! Hope to see you grab a great opportunity for yourselves!!
"}]
Command, respect, admiration, and higher pay- something that we all work towards.

Culturally speaking the person that works towards all these and does not beg to get someone's attention but often elegantly attracts other people are called Magnetic. And that could be you.

I've put down a couple of things here to help you do so- that people over the years have followed to help them attract people more easily without looking too needy:

1 – Be genuinely interested in everything you talk about.

Passion is contagious, and if you show passion for what you are talking about, then people will be drawn into your topic at an unconscious level.

keep digging, researching, reading, exploring, and trying new things out. Figure out where your passion lies.

2 – Genuine interest in the person you talk to shows.

Get genuinely curious about who you're talking to. Ask questions, Study them, survey them and learn about their life. People can detect genuine interest.

Without being interested in who you're talking to, and learning about them, you will not be able to communicate effectively with them.

3 – Become a good storyteller.

storytelling is the most powerful tool you can use to grab attention and change minds.

Stories captivate people and affect them at a very deep level. Research indicates that a good story can influence your neurochemistry and ultimately affect your behavior. That’s why storytelling has been one of the best influence and persuasion tools of leaders around the world.

4 – Have a unique point of view.

The best way to stand out is by developing your perspective. Don’t just listen to the news and get your opinion from there.

Read, think, discuss, debate, formulate your opinions and back them up. This applies to life and work.

5 – Develop your voice.

Your unique speaking voice is yours, and nobody will have anything like it – that’s why it’s so valuable.

Having your unique voice will make you attractive because you will stand out as a fresh breath of air in your field. While everyone else sounds the same, repeats, and regurgitates from the same material and opinions, YOU will be different.

6 – Simplify the complicated.

“if you can explain people’s problems better than they do, they will automatically assume that you have a solution.”

Next time you get to a complicated topic, go lock yourself up in a room and figure out a way to explain it. That’s how you grow, and that’s how you stand out as a communicator.

7 – Be more expressive.

Use your hands, face, eyes, voice, body, and space around to express your ideas.

Expressing your ideas helps you connect and keeps you at the top of everyone's mind.
"}]

In its simplest form, leadership is influencing other people to follow.

Though the term means different things to different people, different cultures, and in different situations- its essence is nothing but 3 things i.e. inspiring, empowering, and creating.

Leadership is always a multifaceted role- it is a role that enables followers to succeed. It sets direction, builds a vision, and adapts as circumstances require it.

Leadership is about mapping out where you need to go to "win" as a team or an organization.

But what is essential as a leader?

No leader can exist without followers. In other words, by definition, a leader needs followers to lead. This means that skills in leading and managing people are crucial for effective leaders.

Talking about the skills one would require-

1) Being able to pass work to others, and achieve through them, is crucial to success as a leader.

No leader can do everything themselves. Anyone who tries to do so will both struggle, and also find that they lose their team in very short order.

2) Everyone is motivated. The key to leadership is to persuade others to want what you want.

There are three important elements: showing how much you appreciate others, helping them to see the big picture, and encouraging them to improve and develop their skills.

3) Facilitation skills are useful far beyond anything.

The heart of process facilitation is helping those involved to identify and then achieve their aims

And just as with everything in life- Practice makes perfection, and the same applies to leadership.

It is a learned behavior that becomes unconscious and automatic over time

This one skill is the reason why the best CEOs are paid so much money.

In 2011, salaries for the 200 top-paid CEOs rose 5 percent to a median of $14.5 million per year, according to a study by compensation-data company Equilar for The New York Times.

Understand what kind of a leader you are- Make Others Feel Safe to Speak Up- Communicate Expectations;

Be Accountable- Challenge People to Think- Lead by Example;

Provide Continuous Feedback- Be a Great Teacher

and last but definitely not least, Invest in Relationships.

"}]
A renowned saying goes, nothing is so unbelievable that oratory cannot make it acceptable. Great public speakers are not born that way; most have to practise and perfect their oratory skills. The most well-known orators are Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King and Adolf Hitler. Their speeches delivered their message in a powerful and articulate way that resonated with their audiences. One can move the masses through words which can be figuratively described as word is sword.

txt
rich_1667149799821

So it's a public speaking competition, more like an extempore since we were given the topics on the spot along with 15-30 min of grace time to prepare for that. It had 3 rounds, the first round being the qualifier one, in which we were supposed to record a video of ourselves speaking on any of the given topics. I was then shortlisted for the semi-finals where we were given a few topics on the spot and were asked to speak for about 2-3 min. Among 27 semi-finalists, 7 finalists were chosen and I was one of them which was held at T-Hub. I was an introvert before or maybe I should say I still am. So in order to interact with people around me, I needed some kind of motivation and that's why I chose to go for public speaking .
