I know it is very unexpected to see coffee as a healthy choice because, for decades, we’ve been told to drink less of coffee as it was considered as something which makes you feel so good at that moment but later is bad for you. But some studies say that coffee does have some benefits.

So to all the coffee and non-coffee lovers out there, here are few benefits that you can reap from Coffee:

Mani Muthu is a juggler from Hyderabad who captivates the audiences with his remarkable skill of flinging the objects into the air and managing them as if it was magic.

Juggling has been a significant part of his life as his first exposure to it was witnessing his father's performances and later, learning the nuances of the art form from his father. He later learnt new forms of juggling from a popular juggler named Neptune in Goa who taught him to juggle while riding a unicycle.

His props are a mixture of fire sticks, balls, footballs, devil stick bars and according to him, he is the first juggler in South India to use LED clubs.

The fact that he has been a juggler since childhood meant having to put in consistent practice, even when he was in school and in college. How did he juggle studies and juggling? His reply to that is, "I used to practice juggling at least for an hour every day. In fact, whenever I feel stressed while studying or while working I juggle for a few minutes and then I get back to my work. In short, I can say juggling acts like a stress buster."

He says that juggling is a fascinating skill for people to learn. "It is a great way to relieve stress and to improve hand-eye coordination, increase attention span, concentration and more," says Mani, who can handle upto 5 objects at a time, owing to his consistent, daily practice.

But, like any skill, there is a ‘use it or lose it’ school of thought as constant engagement with the art form is necessary to retain the ability to juggle.

The young juggler, who works as an IT employee, indulges in his passion over the weekends by conducting workshops on juggling and says, "I want to open a Juggling Community to create awareness on juggling and teach everybody who is interested to learn by making it a healthy hobby for the youngsters because people usually consider it as a stage activity and tend to forget that it can be done at home as a portable exercise. The Hyderabad Traffic Police introduced a new method, LED speed breakers to ensure that drivers do not jump traffic signals on the excuse of not seeing the red light. They are experimenting this at the KBR junction to check if it helps in controlling the red light violation.

These LED speed breakers emit all the traffic signal colors. They are waterproof and hence neither gets affected by rainwater nor waterlogging plus they cannot be damaged if heavy vehicles pass over them.

Mr. M Narsing Rao, Inspector of Traffic Police stated that if this experiment proves to be a success, then they will be installing these LED speed breakers across the city as they also help the driver from identifying the signal from a distance.

These LED speed breakers work in coordination with the traffic lights to slow down the vehicles coming towards the signal and are also more visible in comparison to conventionsal traffic lights which are sometimes blocked by trees or aren't clearly visible during rainy weather conditions.

This experiment is believed to have a great impact on drivers, pushing them to obey traffic signals which will help in reducing road accidents and signal jumping.

As I look out of my windows, I see a variety of trees, some sticking out their bare branches to sky, their fruits dried up, some having blossomed at the onset of summer, their new, tender leaves gleaming in the midday sun, some in full bloom, their brightly colored flowers lighting up the sky with their variety. As always, hardly drawing your attention to its appearance except at the time of bearing fruit.

And I wonder at nature, at the marvelous science behind the nature of things. All these trees grow, exposed to the same natural forces, the same soil, air, water, and climatic conditions yet they flower and bear fruit differently they shed at varying times of the year and have their specific life cycles. And that which determines the course of its life is the inherent nature of the tiny seed, which opened itself up to the elements of nature. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, will sow. And an apple seed can only grow into an apple tree even if it finds itself a mango orchard. Such is nature.

But even so not all trees belonging to the same species are the same they also have certain common characteristics but also have their differences. Such is also the nature of man.

Every child is different and siblings though they draw essentially from the same gene pool rarely possess the same nature. Even though they grow under a shared roof, exposed to the same environment they are emotionally and psychologically different individuals. Mans nature once objectively understood, can be consciously and carefully honed and evolved with positive and gentle nurturing without affecting the core. Every individual is unique and given the lease of time opportunities and exposure will blossom and express his nature. Life isn't a race. Springtime is always a celebration whether it comes early or late. Every tree every flower has a season. Everyone will experience spring in their lives, not just once but over and over.

Having started off my career with the student community in the area of skill development and later having established the student oriented company - stuMagz, I have interacted with thousands of students over the years and for some reason, “I am an entrepreneur” is the most common statement given by students. Initially I was happy about it, with the assumption that these students are actually doing something and are the change-makers of the future but on later interactions, I came to realise most of these students are actually victims of self-proclaimed fraudulent ‘entrepreneurs’.

Under the garb of giving students an opportunity to earn millions and become rich quick, these fraudsters lured many innocent students into Multi-Level-Marketing aka Pyramid schemes. Through these schemes, the fraudsters make students buy some products and tell them to bring in two or three more students and continue the chain. In a twisted version of a carrot on a stick, they show staged images of students with BMWs and other luxury things, attracting many towards these ponzi schemes.
The sad reality is that there is a significant percentage of the student community that is victim to these schemes without even realising that they’re victims. What is saddening further is the fact that I received threats from students when I spoke or posted against these schemes. Many students contacted me and told me that I was jealous of their growth, implying they are experiencing a form of Stockholm Syndrome, as they truly believe what the tricksters told them.
In my journey against these MLM schemes I came across many and most recently, I met Aruna Ravikumar, a senior journalist who wrote the book “Marauders of Hope” highlighting how these MLM tricksters sell hope to innocent individuals. Speaking at the launch of the book, I emphasised on how educating students and generating awareness on MLM schemes is the need of the hour.
While writing about it and speaking about it is one way to go, colleges should also have a session on how students can avoid being a victim in the very first induction session of college, to ensure students stay safe from these frauds in the four years of college life.
"}]

Machine Learning... The current hottest topics in IT and all the technologies related are having huge scope in shaping the future of work and jobs. This tells us how important is to know and to get updated with all these emerging technologies. Even this generated curiosity in us to know about them.

Frankly, being 2nd-year students, for us, all these were strange. Like we knew no more than their definitions indeed. In short, I can say that we were curious about machine learning but have no idea where to start.

In my case, I was the one who tried reading the Wikipedia article, got frustrated and gave up wishing someone would just give a brief basic-level explanation. I think this was even the case of many.

Well, students only can understand their co-students. Our so-called college seniors can even better understand their juniors regarding this case. Right!! Because they were the ones who reached that stage from our level. And in this case, our seniors in SREC are very much bothered and responsive minded about their junior's whatever it may be like academics and always come forward in guiding us relatively.

Thus with the aim to acknowledge us about emerging technologies, Learner's Echo Machine Learning workshop was organized in SREC.

txt
rich_1561727960359

Learner's Echo Machine Learning workshop was held on 28 & 29 of June in SREC by Coding Club of SREC. Learner's Echo is a student organization of SREC which had held 4 workshops till now by great efforts of its head M. Saiteja (IV Year) and his team under the guidance of Promod Kumar Sir (Sr. Asst Professor, CSE). And this Machine learning workshop was the 5th one.

Believe it or not, once the registration link was opened at 7.p.m on 26th June, within 45 sec all the seats were filled as there were limited seats. Even I was among those who were waiting for the spot registration. And luckily, I was allocated a seat. Majority of the students who attended this workshop belong to 2nd year.

First apart, there was a basic introduction session regarding Machine learning and its real-time applications. Later on, we were taught the Fundamentals of Python by Shashank bro (IV year). Next, the topics related to Supervise learning were dealt with. Like Linear Regression (single variable, multivariable) was explained by Si Ram bro (IV year). All these were covered on the 1st day of the workshop.

Next, on the second day, the hugely important part about coding - Logistic Regression (uni, multivariable) was held from basics by Krishna Teja bro (III year). Finally, a piece of brief basic information about Neural Networks was given by Kaushal bro (IV year). SaiTeja bro simultaneously covered every session for ease of better understanding of the concepts. We had a great experience as it was totally a practical session.

txt
rich_1561727960360

Thus finally, I could say that the workshop was very helpful to us. Though the depth of it was not covered, it was a start which created curiosity in us to explore more about Machine Learning. Thus, would hope that many such workshops would be held by Learner's echo with more seats further on and continue sharing knowledge. Because, "Knowledge is power, Knowledge shared is power multiplied".
"}]

Whether it is Elon Musk’s incredible success even after initial failures of his signature Falcon rocket, or Barcelona’s inspirational 6-1 comeback against PSG, never giving up attitude is most often rewarded. So, why it is considered one of the most rewarding and difficult thing to do at the same time?

Many of us might have a regret feeling already like, I should have done this, it would have been great if I have done that or this and so on. Stressed Out by twenty one pilots sums it up pretty nice. So, why we opt the give up option more often? Simple, because it’s the easiest option. Yeah, it sounds odd but that’s the fact. We just find the attitude of giving up so good that most of us convince our inner selves that it is so-called clever decision making. But, this exact attitude is what haunts us in the form of regret in our later stages of life. We hear many success stories that were result of a never giving up attitude and find it so amusing, we personally find it very hard to incorporate that attitude to ourselves and yet we want success in our life, funny right.

Just try a different approach for once don’t quit midway, hold on until the string runs out. See what lies to the end of it, if it is success then that’s what you are after… if it’s the other way around then you have got your own version of a lesson that teaches what not to do, get up and try again. Trust me, at the end of the day it gives you way more satisfaction than just giving up in the middle and talking about regret, in that case it doesn’t even come into the picture.
