There are very few professions that allow you to directly impact a person's life and bring positive change through one's actions as much as law and being a lawyer does. With the world becoming smaller each and every day with constant innovations and faster air travel, it is important to acquaint oneself with international law. In times like these when there's a refugee crisis in the Middle East and our own backyard in Myanmar, and with tensions high across the world, it only seems right that we take the initiative to stand up for what's right.

That being said, here are a few reasons on why you should consider International Law

1. Mounting Tensions

With war, there are war crimes. The saying that history is written by the victor is true, because often we never hear about the atrocities committed by the winners. With the world on the brink of what seems to be another international conflict, students can enable themselves to become a symbol of justice in dark times.

2. Admiralty Law

Cruise ships are all fancy but they are subject to multiple international criminal and private laws. Ships are usually subjected to the laws according to the flag it flies on the mast, but often has a multi cultural crew, as such, international law sets the guidelines for all different nationalities and protects your rights on the high seas.

3. Laws Regarding Stateless Persons

The world is a little anti-refugee right now, although there are good people fighting for the cause, people who have no country too are subject to laws, and international law protects their rights. Take the Syrian crisis for example.

Another example is an excellent Tom Hanks movie called The Terminal, highly recommended.

4. Commercial Law

In this day and age of international trading, an Indian company having issue with a Korean one are subject to international laws as it is obviously not an internal issue that can be solved. These things happen more often than most people think.

5. Extradition Laws

With India hounding Vijay Mallya and trying to get him extradited from the United Kingdom, we understand why international law is important as they also deal with Extradition laws. There are complex laws between countries to return fugitives from their waters and land, and you can fight to bring them to justice.

It is said that service to man is service to God, and if there is one organisation under the government that adopts this ideal into their daily life, it is the NSS.

The National Service Scheme, launched in Mahatma Gandhi's centenary year (1969) is now spread across the country in many colleges, with their motto being 'Not me, but you' a motto they've been true to as seen by their actions. If you want to serve the nation and it's people, do not do it just for the sake of. Love what you're doing, and do what you love."

An inspiration to many students, especially his juniors, we can only hope more students take Manish Reddy as their inspiration and focus on service and consider joining the NSS. We wish Manish Reddy all the best for his future endeavours.
"}]

With exam season hanging just above our heads, ready to drop any moment, it is important to remember these few points and make sure you check them off as the date for the exams approach.

1. Check equipment

You do not want to be caught off guard in final sprint to the exams, and especially on the day of the exam itself. Keep a regular check on your equipment, always put it in the same place you picked it up from so it's easier to find again, and hiss at anyone who tries to tell you your room is a mess. They don't understand that their is beauty in chaos, but I digress.

One of the worst things that can happen on exam day is you misplacing something crucial, like a calculator or carrying a malfunctioning pen with you. 2. Follow Time Table to the letter

We've been talking about this for weeks now, but always have a time table and be ready to tackle issues head on so you don't panic at the end. It's sad that I even have to type this out. Sleep is probably the most important thing you can do before an exam, and you can do it peacefully as well if you follow your time table perfectly. Waking up fresh in the morning and going to the exam hall as sharp as a samurai sword will always put you in a better position than staying up all night and barely managing to write your exam because of lack of sleep.
