In 1876, when Fleming was in Ireland, a mistake in the timetable caused him to miss his train, which turned into his inspiration to come up with a single 24-hour clock for the entire world, located at the center of the Earth, not linked to any surface meridian. After conducting research and studying time, Fleming presented his findings to the Royal Canadian Institute, of which he was a founding member, on February 8, 1879.
