The bus was packed, with many people around I could sense their rough and sweaty bodies. I was too tired to even notice that someone from behind was trying to touch my breasts and then I was petrified. I took two steps forward trying to get off his hands. I looked back at his decent face and he was finely dressed too, I thought I could be wrong. He moved comfortably to a place where he could touch me again this time without any reluctance. He had the audacity to touch a girl inappropriately in a public bus not once but twice.<\/b><\/p> <\/b><\/p>Apart from molestation, attempts to rape; sexual harassment includes asking for unwanted sexual favours, deliberate touching, obscene looks, gestures and stalking. The definition is an inclusive one. <\/p>Every Indian girl is harassed regardless of her age, looks and character. They feel unsafe even while travelling by public transport. <\/p>They feel unsafe to watch a late night show probably because they cannot almost reach home safely. <\/p>To go out to a pub, or to booze, and all of those which are termed as a taboo for a girl here in Indian society; makes us think twice because according to a few it could mean we are available for sexual harassment. <\/p> Unfortunately all these normal things turn out to be adventures for girls because of the society we live in. <\/p>For all the girls out there \u201csilence is not going to protect us.\u201d It is important for us to voice out that we are not going to accept such humiliation. Though there are laws in our nation that protect us from sexual harassment a little boldness and a little aggression can help us deal with situations like these. We need to help ourselves.<\/p> All of us do get inspired by the feminist movements happening around in our society but actually fail to voice out our own experiences and confront it because somewhere down under all of us are scared that we will be judged or abandoned. <\/p>We expect a lot from the society so let us all be the change we want, and make  this society a better and safe place by doing our bit.  <\/p>"}]
