Humans sacrifice many things in life for the mere satisfaction of others around them and the different expectations that this cruel world has upon them. We transform ourselves into someone that they are unknown to and are lost in the tranquility of our false identity. We tend to forget what we want to be and who we are, to live up to the expectations of the world. Not only that, but we forget that in the end, the same world is going to taunt us no matter how we are and what we do.

Read this short poem on how we immerse ourselves in the illusions of the expectations we run behind fulfilling that the world has set for us.

“ In the attempt of concealing the imperfections on our faces with makeup, we lost our pristine smiles.

In the attempt to have perfectly shaped eyebrows,
our eyes lost its shine they once had when we were happy with our imperfect selves.

In the attempt to have a perfect body,
we never realized how we'd end up scarring that same body with wounds we gave ourselves.

In the attempt of having white, gleaming, and perfect skin,
our shadows turned blacker and blacker with each passing day.

In the attempt to blend with the crowd,
we lost our vibrant hues to the unceasing void.

In the attempt of meeting society's expectations,
our creativity turned to ashes.

In the attempt of loving the ones who didn't reciprocate our love,
we forgot to love ourselves first.

In the attempt of winning over our inner demons,
we lost our true selves.”

"}]

STORY: Lord Ganesha was created by Goddess Parvati to protect the entryway while she takes a bath. At the same moment, Lord Shiva went home, but he was not allowed to get inside. Ganesha lost his head as a result of Shiva's divine rage, yet he did not violate his creator's faith or breach his responsibility. When Parvati discovered this, she became furious and made the decision to end the world. Shiva, who realised his error, stopped her and granted Ganesha a new life and the position of being the most important of the gods.

LESSON: There is no quick fix for success.

We're all so eager to succeed that we never stop seeking quick routes. Shortcuts typically result in disappointments rather than more rapid achievement. Success in business is built on a foundation of commitment and authenticity.

STORY: The Kartikeya and Ganesha tale

Once, the goddess Parvati possessed a heavenly fruit that both her sons Ganesha and Kartikeya desired. Lord Shiva declared that whoever rounds the world three times and returns first would receive it as a gift. Kartikeya quickly mounted his peacock and set out on his journey. Ganesha was very aware of how his vast size and the mouse he rode in made him an unlikely winner. Ganesha began to stroll about his parents, Lord Shiva and Parvati, after some thought.

LESSON: Don't panic; instead, make the best of your circumstance.

The narrative of Ganesha Kartikeya emphasises the need of thinking clearly, even in difficult conditions. The only thing you need to do to overcome panic is to learn how to manage your intentions and concentrate on how to use the resources at hand to make the best of a bad situation.

STORY: Vakratunda Matsaryasur's Story

A vicious demon named Matsaryasur worshipped Lord Shiva and begged him for the gift of immortality. Shiva gave Matsaryasur a blessing and assured him that neither a person nor a demon could ever slay him. The demon started destroying the three worlds as he became enraged with power. Vakratunda, the incarnation of Lord Ganesha, was used to capture Matsaryasur. But when Matsara pleaded for pardon, the Vakratunda released him, and harmony was established.

LESSON: Master the art of forgiving and forgetting.

Trying to even score, pull down, and keep score always makes you less than what you are. Furthermore, the energy you use to retain a grudge is taken away from other crucial tasks.

STORY: A mouse and Lord Ganesha

There was a musician by the name of Krauncha in the court of Lord Indra. When Krauncha tripped over Vamadeva's foot one day, the deity cursed Krauncha to turn into a mouse. Krauncha, however, transformed into a massive mouse and began destroying everything in its path. Lord Ganesha mounted him to reprimand Krauncha. The mouse could not handle Lord Ganesha's weight and begged him to become lighter. Since then, Lord Ganesha has been riding a mouse.

Lesson: The highest virtue is modesty.

A situation might require you to accept humility, so try not to get too large for your boots. So it's preferable to start by being humble.

STORY: What happened to Ganesha's tusk?

According to the promise made by Lord Ganesha to Guru Vedvyasa, the Mahabharata shall be written exactly as the sage tells it. The quill he was using to write the epic eventually broke. He was unable to ask the sage to pause or stop as per his commitment. Ganesha immediately broke his left tusk and used it to continue writing the rest of the Mahabharata.

LESSON: Go above and beyond yourself.

According to a well-known proverb, an individual wrapped up in themselves makes the smallest package. We frequently forget what others are thinking or feeling because, in our cutthroat competitive society, selfishness appears to come easily and naturally. Helping others and sharing our ideas and resources benefits not only the team but also us as individuals.

This blog does not only take you to the symbolic meaning of Ganesha's story and his embellishments, it tells you what God means to you. It throws the light on the way we have to live our life.

Who is a Women Entrepreneur?

Women who innovate, initiate or adopt business actively are called women entrepreneurs.

A woman owning and controlling an enterprise having a minimum financial interest of 51% of the capital and giving a minimum of at least 51% of the employment generated in the enterprise to women is called a Women Entrepreneur by the government of India.

Ten problems faced by women entrepreneurs:

1. Family restriction

Women are expected to spend more time with their family members. They do not encourage women to travel extensively for exploiting business opportunities.

2. Lack of Finance

Family members do not encourage women entrepreneurs. They hesitate to invest money in business ventures initiated by women entrepreneurs. Bank and other Financial Institutions do not consider Middle-Class Women Entrepreneurs as proper applicants for setting up their projects, and they are hesitant to provide financial assistance to unmarried women or girls as they are unsure as to who will repay the loan — Either their parents or in-laws after their marriage. This humiliates unmarried women, and they generally leave the idea of setting up their ventures.

For example, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw initially faced many problems regarding funds for her business. Banks were hesitant to give loan to her as biotechnology was a totally new field at that point of time, and she was a woman entrepreneur, which was a rare phenomenon.

3. Lack of Education

Women are typically denied higher education, especially in rural areas and underdeveloped countries. Women are not allowed to enrich their knowledge in technical and research areas to introduce new products.

4. Role Conflict

Marriage and family life are given more importance than career and social life in Indian society.

5. Unfavorable Environment

Males dominate the society we live in today. Many businessmen are not interested to have business relationships with women entrepreneurs. Male generally do not encourage women entrepreneurs.

6. Lack of persistent Nature

Most women have sympathy for others. They are very emotional. This nature should not allow them to get easily cheated in business.

7. Lack of Mental strength

Business involves risk. Women entrepreneurs get upset very easily when a loss arises in business.

8. Lack of Information

Women entrepreneurs are not mostly aware of the subsidies and incentives available to them. Lack of knowledge may prevent them from availing of the special schemes.

9. Stiff Competition

Women face a lot of competition from men. Due to limited mobility, they find it difficult to compete with men.

10. Mobility

Moving in and around the market is again a tough job for Middle-Class Women Entrepreneurs in the Indian Social system.

"}]

How did you get into photography?

There are multiple reasons why I got into photography. It always intrigued me when I saw images on Instagram looking so beautiful to look at and it made me think if I could shoot something like that too. Another thing would be that I always wanted to have something that kind of tells about me and my story not relating to my academics or personal background. What was your reason for photography?

As I mentioned in the previous question, a bunch of things eventually led to me doing photography. The pandemic also helped me to know and actually take time to learn the art, I had more time to watch YouTube videos and learn.

How do you manage your studies and photography?

It's quite a task honestly, I make time specifically in my day for photography. There are a bunch of things when you do photography that you need to take care of- shooting, then editing the images and then you need to put them out on social media platforms for the world to see it. All of this takes time and I dedicate a bunch of hours daily for the same. How is the photography scene at CBIT?

CBIT does have a photography club compared to other colleges that do not, which is brilliant. The club shoots almost all the major events happening in the college and they get a whole lot of exposure in the club. Though I wasn't a part of the club, I'd insist people join it. What tips would you give to your juniors in perceiving photography or having an interest in
photography?

I don't think I'm privileged enough to answer this question but I have a bunch of points that I would've told my past self when I was starting to like photography-

a) your phone is your DSLR, you don't need to buy one right away

b) do your thing and keep sharing it with the world on social media or in any way possible, that's the only way you'd get better at the art. Doesn't matter if it's good or bad.

c) keep shooting regularly and don't lose any touch with the art. Keep at it irrespective of what you're doing daily, just 1 photo in a day is still better than no photo.

d) talk to people, like a lot. Don't be shy to go out there and express your views, you'd be embarrassed at first but the learning curve will only be exponential.

txt
rich_1661782978089

Many unique sports are played in India from famous sports such as soccer and cricket to less-regarded sports which are however played my many such as kho-kho, kabaddi, langdi, gillidanda etc. A few of them are mentioned below:

1. Pehlwani:

Strength and agility are key components of the martial art known as Pehlwani Wrestling (Kushti). In India, where it has been practised for centuries, it is one of the oldest styles of wrestling in existence. In Pehlwani wrestling, the goal is to knock down and then pin your opponent. The fight takes place in a Dangal, a circular arena resembling a boxing ring. Malla yuddha is the historical Indian sport of Pehlwani and the competitions called kushti or dangal.

2. Kabaddi:

Two teams compete in kabaddi matches on the opposing half of a field or court. Players alternately walk over to the opposing team's side while chanting "kabaddi, kabaddi" (or an alternate chant). Pupils in Indian gurukuls played kabaddi for physical activity for a long time (Vedic schools run by gurus). The fundamental goal of the game—raiding the enemy territory—remains the same despite some small modifications.

3. Mallakamba:

The ancient Indian sport of mallakhamb or mallakhamba, which is a form of Indian gymnastics performed on a vertical pole, initially attracted the attention of the world during the 1936 Berlin Olympics. Mallakhamb may initially appear to be an aerial yoga or gymnastics exercise done on a vertical pillar (traditionally a sheesham or Indian rosewood pole polished with castor oil). However, mallakhamb is an old martial art designed to help ancient warriors and wrestlers prepare for battle.Literally, "khamb" means pole and "malla" means wrestling. Mallakhamb refers to pole-based wrestling collectively.

4. Kalaripayattu:

The roots of Kalaripayattu are usually attributed to the gods due of its age. But like many other facets of Indian culture, Agastya Muni is the author of this amazing marital art form. In contrast to other martial arts, Kalaripayattu's rigorous training emphasises the body's energy system as well as physical activity and agility. The body and mind are in complete harmony.Kalaripayattu combines a variety of fighting styles, including empty-handed combat, with a variety of weapons, such as long staffs, short sticks, curved sticks, swords and shields, spears, maces, and flexible swords (urumi). These renowned art forms are characterised by their flexibility and agility.

5. Gilli Danda:

An ancient Indian sport called Gilli Danda may have been practised more than 2500 years ago. It is said to be the ancestor of Western sports including cricket, baseball, and softball.Gilli-danda is a regionally diverse youth sport that is played by amateurs. Depending on how much the gilli deviates from the hitting point, a striker may receive more or fewer points in different variations. In some circumstances, the length of the gilli is used to measure distance instead of the danda. The number of times the gilli was struck in the air on the first strike also affects scoring. Two mid-air strikes double the distance travelled and double the number of points awarded.

6. Field Hockey:

Field hockey, sometimes referred to as hockey, is an outdoor sport in which two opposing teams of 11 players each use sticks with a curved end to strike a small, hard ball into the goal of their opponent. It is known as field hockey to set it apart from the related game played on ice. Hockey is thought to have originated with the oldest civilizations. India's national sport is hockey. Our team is one of the best in the world. It became a member of the International Hockey Federation as the first non-European team. The team earned its first Olympic gold medal in 1928. So far, the country has won eight Olympic gold medals in hockey.
"}]
