As a man was passing the elephants,he suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg.No chains,no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could , at any time, break away from their bonds but for some reason, they did not.

He saw a trainer near by and asked why these animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away."Well",the trainer said ,"when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and , at that age, it's enough to hold them. As they grow up,they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them,so they never try to break free ".

The man was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn't,they were stuck right where they were.

Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we can not do some thing, simply because we failed at it once before?

For the first time in the history of Pakistan, the country is going to get public holidays on Holi, Diwali & Easter.

On Tuesday, after its Parliament session Pakistan adopted a resolution that Holi, Diwali & Easter are public holidays from now!

The resolution, which was moved by lawmaker Dr.Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, was adopted by the National Assembly to take steps to declare the festivals as holidays for minorities

According to the reports from Pakistan, it is very cheerful to know that there was no objection to the resolution and the government has agreed to it.

"This house is of the opinion that the government should take steps to declare Holi, Diwali and Easter as closed holidays for minorities," said the resolution.

The State Minister for Religious Affairs Pir Aminul Hasnat Shah said that "The Interior Ministry has already given permission to heads of federal organisations, departments, and institutions to grant leave to minorities on their religious festivals. While the Federal Minister for Laws and Justice Pervaiz Rashid said that the number of holidays in Pakistan are more than any other country, he didn't object to the resolution either"

He also mentioned that " All Pakistanis equally share each others joy and sorrow and there is no discrimination on the basis of religion and faith. "Every citizen is enjoying religious freedom,"

"The announcement was inevitable for the good image of Pakistan as such holidays were also being observed in the United States on Eid, and in India on Muharram," said Vankwani, who is also patron-in-chief of the Pakistan Hindu Council.

It is good to see the national integrity developing day by day!

This mystery is the worst nightmare for a scientist. It baffled many science enthusiasts as a lot of flights and ships went missing at this place.

The major reason for the disappearances of aircraft and ships are due to the formation of craters. The particular area may not be an exact triangle but it offers explanations on the basis of width and depth of craters. The craters found near Puerto Rico are 800 m wide and 450 m deep.It is believed that these create massive burps of methane to originate from the bottom of the sea.

Scientists also explained the reason of how craters leak through seabed and reach the water above.Due to the existence of craters, water mixes along with the gas to escape which in turn will sink ships.Similarly, planes also catch fire as methane gets excited.Recently they have also found about ‘ghost’ ships in which people were found dead due to asphyxiation caused by methane.

Scientists are yet to explore whether methane gas explosions can really swallow something as huge as an aircraft.Hope they also find a solution to overcome this disappearance.

The night before first day of my college as a Fresher was like having bad case of nerves. The first day of orientation was kind of boring with all the monotonous speeches but I had no choice but to sit and listen. I did not really wanted to go to college but something inside me told me that I should and it would be for my best.

26th September 2013, that day was not just first day, it was the start of my journey. I had entered a hall with tables, chairs, people eating and writing assignments. I soon discovered that it was Cafeteria. My dad and I ate something as we were hungry travelling 210 kilometers from our hometown.I was a bit nervous and scared that I got lost trying to find out my classroom I was supposed to attend. Finally I entered in.I came across many unknown faces. For a couple of days, it was very frightening, fear of ragging, seniors, new teachers and everything new. I was exposed to a different style of learning. It was nothing like my school life, felt silent for a few days. It looked so empty even though there were many around me. I imagined vivid pictures of what college might be and I thought college life would be filled with parties and fun but nothing was like I expected.

Our block laboratories and library increased my interest. I used to go, sit in the library when I felt alone. Our hostel was farther away from campus and getting ready by 830, waiting for bus and returning by 430 was all turned to my routine works. We were ragged by our seniors very badly that they asked us to dance, sing, act, mimic etc in the hostel. But later when I imagined of those days it was really a kind of fun. The thing I noticed in the very first year was Work load. College life schedules are difficult to balance. I was baffled to see some of my mates watching movies during class hours. But everyone I saw was literally scared about Chemistry class and everyone used to sit still and the class was as silent as graveyard. We looked bright on the Interaction day which was our first party in the college. Our entry added grace to the otherwise dull party.

I chose civil but I was not comfortable with some subjects in my second year. But anyways managing this was better than crying over programming which I was very weak at.

Now formed a gang of girls where I started deep conversations and I shared deep things. Second year was a bound free life. Nobody was there to see who is bunking and where they are etc. The crazy thing was, We all went out of the class, when class was going on, telling sir that 'it was our movie time so we have to leave'. The best time we all spent together was during our Survey Camp. We were divided into groups and started working in the field for about 8 hours a day.We had fun late nights, telling stories, dancing, those precious moments I will never forget. During boring lectures, there were many ways to pass our times. We wrote paper notes, used to hide our laughter, used to look at clock to find how many minutes are left, daydream, sleep and what not! As months went by, I stayed till late nights, finish late minute assignments, xeroxing and collecting notes before exams and everything. But when results were out,I flunked an exam. But eventually everything went smoothly.

We worked very hard for two days to make and present our model on HOOVER DAM. It was all a failure, we did not win the competition. This was our saddest moment. Later we paid to attend 5 days trip to different places where we could enhance our technical knowledge. When we were packing for our trip, my friends never forgot to get things to eat, the essentials and the whole caboodle. When you are touring, the feeling of having been there before thrills us and it did. And after the trip, we were really zapped out.

The final year is about to come and we will all depart soon. Cant imagine the day where we should all have to part away. College life is not only about getting good education but also it is a place to make memories last forever. Good moments will get over in a flash and they will be worth remembering for our entire lives..
"}]
The world's most expensive city to live in is Singapore. In the Economist Intelligence Unit's bi-annual ranking it held the title for the past three years The Singapore city is ahead of Zurich and Hong Kong. It is clear from this survey that Singapore's living costs were pushed up by heavily taxed goods and services, such as car ownership and alcohol.
The report measured transportation in Singapore at about 2.7 times more costly than that in New York. Cars in Singapore are more expensive, at about $153,000 for the average car than that compared with $22,000 in New York.
Despite the high cost of owning a private vehicle they also imposed high taxes to discourage car ownership. It is estimated that about 45% of households in Singapore own at least one car.

The average price of a bottle of wine in Singapore was $22.39, higher than that in Hong Kong and New York.
Still, Singaporeans can perhaps take some comfort in knowing that the cost of living here is headed downward a little. It's 10% cheaper compared to New York as a benchmark, as it was a year ago in the same survey. The EIU noted that Singapore offers roughly the same value as New York for basic groceries, where Seoul is 33% more expensive, and it's 26% costlier in Tokyo. Singapore kicked Tokyo off the list in 2013 and it became the worlds expensive city to live in. The main reason behind this is heavy taxes which are imposed on the items. The property costs are also increased to great extent which made the state more expensive.
"}]

In 1997 June, the Umesh Chandra was appointed for Karimnagar. He served in Karimnagar till 1998 April. This district had the most number of active Naxalite gangs. Normal life was a dream. Corrupt and vested interests worked for the hand in glove with the Naxalites in exploiting the people of the district. On the Naxalite front, Umesh Chandra started planning and executing covert operations with meticulous detail. He put together a close well-knit group of officers and constables that he could trust to get the job done. His reputation of a fair, yet strict administrator helped convince several Naxalites to surrender.

Umeshchandra was assassinated on 4 September 1999 when his car stopped at a traffic light. Four Naxalites opened fire on him, his driver and his gunman. His driver and gunman were shot at point blank range and died instantly. On that day, he did not carry his weapon. While chasing a couple of the Naxalites, the Naxalites sensed that he did not carry a weapon and turned back and fired at him twice.
