Instinctively the first emotion that comes to mind for a pandemic is fear. I resorted to panic buying when I heard of a potential lockdown. Then I discovered that the fear and panic-induced in people is more dangerous than the virus itself. Emotional contagion is the tendency of humans to ‘catch’ other people’s emotions, through words and non-verbal expressions including body language, tone, and facial expressions. I was vulnerable to the emotions of people from around the world through social media even though we were in lockdown and isolated. Fear was the most dominant emotion expressed followed by sadness. The positive emotions were in the plunge, except for love and hope. I blamed people for the pandemic, whether it is the Chinese or people attending events and spreading the virus. On the other hand, there was another set of headlines that emphasized the kindness people showed to each other and virtual strangers around the world. Lakhs of needy people were fed in different parts of India.

My experience of lockdown as a student has had its ups and downs, as you would imagine. Being confined to our homes with no outside social interactions with fellow humans has been tough and goes against our human nature. My knowledge and experience in exercise and health has allowed me to continue to keep my health and well-being in check.

I have been fortunate enough to have a household that proceeds to support me during those uncertain times, and have always allowed me the time and space I’ve needed to study independently.
"}]

Heyy guys!! let's get candid with the secretary of CMRCET, Mr.Manish Reddy Nandineni. Who also cracked good placement in mentor graphics. As a fresher, I learned how to proceed in my further journey after talking to him. Now it's your turn.!! Read the article to get valuable suggestions.

# Give a brief introduction about your education? A: My name is MANISH REDDY. I am from Hyderabad. I completed my high schooling at St.Joseph school and intermediate from Velocity junior college.

# what are your 3 learnings from college life? A: 1. the main thing college life taught me was self-learning.. Engineering is not the same as schooling to get spoon-fed. We should explore beyond the college academics and learn different things by ourselves. 2. I got to know more about myself because this is the age when we discover our potentials, strengths, and weaknesses. 3. It is said that don't be a jack of all trades but be a master of one, but I believe, "jack of all trades is master of none but oftentimes better than master of one!! "

# what did you expect from Engineering in your first year? A: I came with no plans or expectations.. I grabbed the opportunities that came my way and worked on improving myself.

# what opportunities does the college provide? A: College provides all possible opportunities.. it is you who should make the right use of them.. Explore different aspects in your free time. I used the lockdown period when I had a lot of free time to explore my interests.

# What is your ambition in life? A: To bring impact in people’s lives in whatever I do.

# What are your achievements? Are you involved in sports? A: I feel proud of myself when I remember the day when I took my parents as chief guests to my school annual day being the head boy and getting the Student of the year award on the same stage.
During my school days, I was an athlete, and I was also involved in javelin throw and shot put.

# What are your strengths and weaknesses? A: My confidence is my strength.. and getting angry when simple things are not done right is my weakness.
When I love something, I take it so seriously.. which acts as both strength and weakness.

# Why did you wish to become secretary and how did you become a secretary? A: I was the Head boy in my school, so I was already interested in this aspect.
When the topic of formulating a student council came up, I approached Fatima ma’am and told my interest and involved myself in formulating the rules and regulations of the council believing that the impact the council can bring is tremendous.

# What did the secretary post teach you? A: It taught me to accept the fact that change is resisted a lot by people and it requires solid time and effort to bring change. Also, it should happen from the root level to have a long-lasting effect.

# Are you interested in further studies? A: As of now, I would like to focus on my job in mentor graphics, while working on my entrepreneurship skills.

# Let’s get into placements now, what programming languages did you learn? A: I know C, C++, Java, Python, Javascript, Node JS and I’m learning Solidity now..

# How many internships did you do? A: I did 3 internships,
1. I started as a graphic designer in Stumagz and then upgraded to campus lead in 2nd year. 2. internship in Contenterra for 3months as a software developer 3 . present I'm working as an in Mentor Graphics as a software engineering intern.

# Lastly, What’s your advice for your juniors..! A: Don’t wait for anyone to come and tell you what to do.. Explore all possible aspects, grab all the opportunities and work on your self-interests.

It was a great experience talking to Manish.
Thank you, Manish for sharing your experience with us.
"}]

Here's what people had to say about it after being asked about their favorite memories on campus:

"Teresa park has to be the best hangout spot! All our free periods would be spent at the park, under the shade of trees as sunlight filtered through its gaps, making for a delightful environment. From deep conversations to making fun of that one friend, birthday parties, and bitching sessions, that place was where we had the most fun and made the most memories of college life. I've been to a lot of hangout places and had lots of fun on campus, but sitting with my friends at the park beats them all. "- K.K.D.

"The thought of staying far away from your home with others is nerve-racking, especially when one is an introvert. The number of times I felt like running away only to be consumed by the bleakness of a world where my room and bed are not a part of, and I had nowhere to run to were numerous. Only when I found the puppies did I feel like I could take a breath. It was my solace, and I found comfort in the thought that I would always have a place to go to when I felt like recharging. Whenever I am there, it feels like home, and I owe to the dogs my sanity. LET’S GO TO THE STADIUM! We played chess, badminton, basketball and table tennis even though we had no idea how to. The guys would spend their time in the gym taking selfies, rarely did they work out. I remember one of our friends, who has left the University now, came to visit us one last day. We all cried together while sitting on the pavement. “There’s a secret place at GITAM, or we like to believe it is our secret. But it’s pretty much popular, just not as a hangout spot. It’s near Teresa Park and it has this slope that looks sort of deadly if you fall down, you might break your jaw. But a few of my friends look at it as a help to enhance rock-climbing skills, which they don’t even have in the first place. It’s adorable looking at them try to climb the slope all the way up and down and falling down and laughing about it. We like to sit there and think about life like philosophers. These were just some out of a lot of beautiful memories that my fellow students told me about. Apart from these places, the canteens, Frankie station, Coke Station, and the street food area are the places that have so many nostalgic memories that I couldn’t even fit them in here. KRC (the library), or the pavement in front of KRC is the most frequented hangout spot, apart from being a landmark for students to find each other.

From Ajeeb Dastan Hai to the Gayatri mantra, her last recording, she made the music soulful with her soothing voice.
