Biography of Oprah Winfrey can inspire some but here I have her words on self-esteem, which will definitely change your mind.

Before I tell you her version on self-esteem I would like to introduce you to the word self-esteem. What actually that word mean? Confidence in one’s own worth or abilities, that’s what Google says about self-esteem.

When you live in a society where you get to hear many negatives about you, and where your being as yourself is treated as a crime, it becomes tough for you to survive and if it happens with a woman it's little tougher. But Oprah Winfrey is now in her great position, followed by many, inspiration to many even after those struggles.

In high school, she was quoted “big flirt.” She justified it by saying she was only being funny. When she got older, that clamouring morphed into something more overtly physical. She justified it by saying she was simply expressing her sexuality, which is natural, healthy and right. What she didn’t say and perhaps didn’t realize that she used sex to confirm that she had something to offer. When she was still older, she stopped sleeping around, but she always needs someone to be around saying that she is beautiful in all realms of life. She used to get others attention by saying she is poor. She used to measure her value by the attention she got from others.

In some ways it’s not unhealthy because everyone likes to have a reflection coming back that’s positive. "We're social animals. We want to be liked and approved of. The question is to what extent we will go to get that, and to what extent we need it. Logically she knew that she is not worthless, but at her state of mind at that age she needed someone.

Her family may be the reason behind this because she did not get the perfect family environment from her childhood. That may be the reason she was always in search of people who say they love her.

After many therapies, she has got that self-esteem in her. She says that we always should pamper ourselves rather than waiting for someone to do that. If we start talking to ourselves saying that you are beautiful and you are enough it build’s up to your self-esteem. We don’t need someone to be back of us always saying that they love us. We just need some time for ourselves to gain that confidence in you.

“I've come to believe that each of us has a personal calling that's as unique as a fingerprint - and that the best way to succeed is to discover what you love and then find a way to offer it to others in the form of service, working hard, and also allowing the energy of the universe to lead you.”—Oprah Winfrey.

I conclude by saying that start spending some time for yourself and never wait for others, try to make others crave for you and your love.
"}]

This is how I was introduced to The Girl On The Train by Paula Hawkins, my wonderful ex - a voracious reader - mentioned it in passing during one of our conversations, yet it wasn't until the Hollywood adaptation starring the fantastic Emily Blunt released that I decided to pick up the book and finally read it. This write-up here is a collection of my thoughts on the book.
Amnesia as a storytelling trope has been around for as long as we knew there was such a thing, although I'm quite sure it has been around for longer than that. It provides, in brief, a blank slate for writers to paint the portrait of the character they're writing about, with words instead of paint. It is a great storytelling device, of course, but it has been overdone and takes a tremendous amount of writing effort to make it seem not lazy.
Now here's the funny part, while Hawkins manages to subvert the cliche of using amnesia as a trope, the rest of the book ranges from well written to shoddy, unimaginative drab so bad it is shocking it ever went into print.

Of the few things that I like about this book, it is the fact that every character is someone you want to repeatedly punch in the face. I mean, I wouldn't describe myself as a violent person, but I swear to everything I hold dear if I didn't wish a bus would hit them as I navigated my way through the book. If this was something Hawkins had done to prop up a character to be better than the others, I would have properly taken it as a con, but all characters are equally horrendous, making the unfolding of the story fascinating to read.
The Girl On The Train is a thriller, as suggests the vague cover with the white and faded title emblazoned across the book. The question of whether it is a thriller worth reading or not is one best left to the reader since individual tastes are varied. But since this is a review that yours truly is writing, this is my opinion on the book.
I did not enjoy the twist, especially with how predictable it was about halfway through the book. Hawkins has to realise that book readers can get really passionate about the plot of the books they read, I mean, the A Song of Ice and Fire community managed to infer Jon Snow's parents from the existing books based on hints in the prose alone, we are all insane here. The essence of a good thriller is to have a narrative that is difficult to rip your eyes off from; the reader should feel that they are being pulled by a current they cannot fight when the truth is that the writer has crafted a narrative so good, the flow only seems natural. Stephen King is exceptionally good at this, and he wrote most of his books while high on cocaine and prescription drugs.

There are redeeming qualities of The Girl On The Train, of course. The prose, at parts, manages to flow well enough to show signs of a well-crafted narrative that has lead people to call it 'The next Gone Girl', and while I disagree with the statement, I do understand where that is coming from. However, where Gone Girl took its time building the relationship and the kind of woman Amy Dunne is, The Girl On The Train does no such thing. It doesn't have time for something as asinine as character development and proper fleshing out of their motives and quirks, the book seems to say, for this has already been called the next Gone Girl, and nothing else matters.
Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl is creepy and does a fantastic job of getting under your skin, and the fact that a veteran director like David Fincher decided to make a movie about it only adds to the quality of the book. The Girl On The Train, however, falls flat multiple times, the fact that its characters are all terrible is amusing to read through.
In conclusion, I do wonder why the book got as popular as it did, the tag that it was the next Gone Girl certainly helped, followed by the overexposure of the book and a movie that followed it which ensured everyone and their friends had either heard, watched or read it, and since it is a cool thing to do to hate on something popular, it has been getting some negative attention recently.
Which is ironic, considering this is not exactly a glowing review of the book. If you're looking for a light read that you can finish in one sitting or a starting point to get someone into reading, The Girl On The Train is a good place to start. Of course, if you are a regular reader, chances are you've already read the book.

txt
rich_1506260215553
With hopes and ideas of finding another Earth or life on another planet, astronomers have launched many successful space missions. This perplexity is more prominent among the final and pre-final year engineering students because of the multiple paths that we have in front of us. Say, higher education, employment, entrepreneurship and much more.. but are unable to select the one that is most suitable for our skills and capability. Held up with this dilemma we fail to focus on the skills and sometimes the very basic things that are needed to hit our goals. Unfortunately, having pursued the most significant professional course, we end up doing some odd jobs which are degrading the prestige and value that ENGINEERING has got!
The reason behind all this is lack of current market awareness, sense of practicality and the most important, out of the box thinking! in present-day engineers. WHERE DOES THE ACTUAL FAULT Exist? Clearly, it is not in the students completely! It is the conventional educational curriculum which is not allowing us to think beyond the pages of textbooks.. because of which we do not notice the immense strength and potential within us and try to gain it from every other place. To overcome the confusion about career we often spend a lot of money and time in attending "GOALKEEPING" workshops and career based counselling which may help us to some extent but the ultimate key to all the questions popping in our mind is in our way perceiving the circumstances around us. We just have to make an attempt at finding the hidden solution within us by introspecting our self and voicing out our opinion with our fellow mates which leads to a cumulative research work and better analysis of the scope that is available to us.

Believing that sharing of knowledge expands our thought process and experience empowers us to take the right decisions, ACM-W Stanley student chapter came forward for organizing a STUDENT CAREER CONCLAVE aiming at bringing students from different disciplines on a common platform for discussing the opportunities at every level in a formal atmosphere. Today i am able to write some story and publish over here and you guys are able to read my article is just because of him.

Stumagz is the one which is sponsoring for our college events ( SCALE workshop, RSPAC ).

Thanks a ton for your support.

Directly or indirectly Charan Sir is the one who inspired me soo much,

I will tell you why.

when i was in my second year, stumagz team came to SREC to select avengers from our college.

One of my senior asked some five persons to participate. I was not the one among those five members.

I did not participate.

but later, somehow i got information regarding stumagz from one of my friend.

then i started posting stories.

you believe it or not, i could not spell stumagz properly when i heard it for the first time...

My friend told it as stumazzzz and i followed the same.

but when i saw the website,

when i posted for the first time, i realized it is stumagz.

i developed a habit of writing.

For every one Sri Charan Lakkaraju is the founder of stumagz, digital magazine network for colleges connecting over 1.5 lakh students today,

but for me he is a motivator, an achiever, a dynamo, a man of action.

I had a habit of reading books since my childhood ( other than technical ).

When i was in intermediate, i decided to write a novel but i could not dare.

i do not have any idea what to write but i want to be a writer some day.

stumagz is a platform for all the aspiring writers to develop their skills.

I was watching one of his speech and i liked few statements what he told.

Do not fear to lose. Be ready to lose.

Losers have lot of opportunities, winners have to start with that margin.

When you are in college, the days what you spend over there are amazing.

these are the days when you experiment,

these are the days when you innovate,

these are the days when you create,

these are the days when you collaborate because at the end of the day, that's where you just stand as a student.

when someone keeps themselves busy , they earn a lot.

when you diffuse your idea, you will know whether it works or not.

when you know your target audience, your startup will be successful. - Charan Lakkaraju

Nineteen Eighty Nine -

The year when god of cricket started playing cricket, the year when computer entered India, the year when times magazine quoted that ' this particular year is going to change the future.

that year... Nineteen Eighty Nine... Sri Charan Lakkaraju born.

I feel privilege to write a story in Stumagz about such talented person.

Thank you.

So, I happened to read a series of books written by one of the most amazing author Blake Pierce, who specialises in writing mystery/thriller & criminal genres, and definitely does utmost justice to each of her work that always manages to leave a reader awestruck !

Her first book, also the first among the Riley Paige mystery series, is titled as 'Once Gone', and she has managed to write around 9 more books and still counting in the Riley Paige series itself, each consisting of an intriguing plot, and realistic portrayal of characters that can be so easily related to.

The series revolves around a special agent Riley Paige, who has the special ability to get into the mind of the killer and analyse the events that might have occurred when the killer had striked. She happens to be on leave recovering from the nightmares resulting from her last case that has managed to shake her fragile self.

Plot of 'Once Gone' :

When FBI experiences a series of inhuman & brutal murders of women in the outskirts of Virginia, leaving them Dumbfounded while the investigation leading them next to no clues, they know they are dealing with a serial killer who'll be striking again soon. They've gotta find him before somebody else is taken and they know of only one agent good enough to deal this barbaric killer- Special Agent Riley Paige, though they are reluctant to disturb her fragile self again so soon. But when Riley finds about the killings, she becomes obsessed to fight back her inner demons and confront her fears through this case, and she steps in despite having her job at stake, her daughter April in danger, determined to put an end to this phase of terror. She trusts her instincts enough to follow them blindfolded and soon comes across clues that signals her that the killer is obsessed with particular doll collectors and she knows that the next victim might have already been taken. As she pushes herself to get deeper into the killers mind, she finds that the killer is much more mysterious and twisted that her thoughts.

Can she be quick enough to save the victim? Or end up in becoming a victim herself?Filled with unexpected Twists and turns making readers yearn for more, 'Once Gone' sums up to be a perfect read for mystery lovers. For those who don't have enough time to go and buy books, you can download this book, i.e. the first in the Riley Paige series, for free on play store. And those who've already given this a read, more 9 books are now available under this series itself. Can't get enough? It is 2017 and there are still people that need to be told that diseases of the brain exist and that they ought to be taking better care of themselves and the people around them.

We all would like to live in an ideal world where there is no prejudice and everything is ruled by logic over emotion, but the fundamental design of our brains itself prevents that from happening. Because, at the end of the day, we are empathetic beings and our emotional needs are just as great as our physical or logical needs. The brain, like any other organ in our body, gets sick. Recovering from that and healing is a whole different ball game, some folks take months or years to crawl out of their mental health issues.

Which brings us to the topic at hand. All of us collectively need to realise how important it is to take care of our mental health, especially in this country where it is disregarded and laughed at. We have no concept of work life balance in this country, because if you don't work over time, you will be fired and replaced easily, simply because there are way too many people willing to work for lesser salaries than you will take. The overpopulation desperation and the fact that our elders expect us to treat them like gods contributes to a culture of abuse where you are constantly overdoing what you are supposed to do only to stroke someone's ego. This leads to you becoming similar to our elders when you get older because you spent your time doing it, now someone else should do it for you, right?

Music is a funny thing, with music ever changing and going through paces, artists are being minted daily even in this age of cringe pop. Of the many multiple genres of music out there, a certain type of music called 'New Age' has taken the world by the storm for its relaxing tunes and ethereal vocals. Of the many artists that have taken to this genre, perhaps the most influential and the most successful has been Enya.

With her blend of folk melodies, synthesized backdrops, and classical motifs, Enya created a distinctive style that more closely resembled new age than the folk and Celtic music that provided her initial influences. Enya is from Gweedore, County Donegal, Ireland, which she left in 1980 to join the Irish band Clannad, the group that already featured her older brothers and sisters. She stayed with Clannad for two years, then left, hooking up with producer Nicky Ryan and lyricist Roma Ryan, with whom she recorded film and television scores. The result was a successful album of TV music for the BBC. Enya then recorded Watermark (1988), which featured her distinctive, flowing music and multi-overdubbed trancelike singing; the album sold eight million copies worldwide. Watermark established Enya as an international star and launched a successful career that has continued into the new millennium.

Enya (born Eithne Ní Bhraonáin) was born into a musical family. Her father, Leo Brennan, was the leader of the Slieve Foy Band, a popular Irish show band; her mother was an amateur musician. Most important to Enya's career were her siblings, who formed Clannad in 1970 with several of their uncles. Enya joined the band as a keyboardist in 1980 and contributed to several of the group's popular television soundtracks. In 1982, she left Clannad, claiming that she was uninterested in following the pop direction the group had begun to pursue. Within a few years, she was commissioned, along with producer/arranger Nicky Ryan and lyricist Roma Ryan, to provide the score for a BBC-TV series called The Celts. The soundtrack was released in 1986 as her eponymous solo album.

Enya didn't receive much notice, but Enya and the Ryans' second effort, Watermark, became a surprise hit upon its release in 1988. Enya spent the years following the success of Watermark rather quietly; her most notable appearance was a cameo on Sinéad O'Connor's I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got. She finally released Shepherd Moons, her follow-up to Watermark, in 1991. Shepherd Moons was even more successful than its predecessor, eventually selling over ten million copies worldwide; it entered the U.S. charts at number 17 and remained in the Top 200 for almost four years.

Again, Enya was slow to follow up on the success of Shepherd Moons, spending nearly four years working on her fourth album. The record, entitled Memory of Trees, was released in December 1995. Memory of Trees entered the U.S. charts at number nine and sold over two million copies within its first year of release. In 1997 came the release of a greatest-hits collection, Paint the Sky with Stars: The Best of Enya, which featured two new songs. Enya's first album of new material in five years, Day Without Rain, was released in late 2000. In 2002, she contributed material to the first film in Peter Jackson's award-winning Lord of the Rings trilogy, scoring a hit with the single "May It Be." Amarantine, her first full-length recording since Day Without Rain, followed in November 2005. A holiday EP, Christmas Secrets, arrived in 2006, followed by an all new, full-length collection of original seasonal music called And Winter Came in 2008.

Her second greatest-hits collection, The Very Best of Enya, was released in 2009, though it would be another six years until her next album arrived. "Echoes in Rain," the first of two singles from Enya's forthcoming eighth album, appeared in September 2015, and the normally reclusive star opened up for a number of interviews and was promoted heavily on social media for the first time. Created with longtime collaborators Roma and Nicky Ryan, Dark Star Island was released in November of that year.
"}]
It always surprises me to see books getting movie adaptations barely a year after launch, especially when this is a book which I have never heard of but everyone else has already read it.

With hopes and ideas of finding another Earth or life on another planet, astronomers have launched many successful space missions. Out of them was Kepler spacecraft. But due to the limited survey of Kepler spacecraft, scientists had to build something huge. Their intensive research has led to the vision of TESS (Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite ). Wondering what an exoplanet is? An exoplanet or an extrasolar planet is a planet outside our solar system that orbits around a star. The satellite launch is planned in March 2018 on a SpaceX falcon 9 Full Thrust rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

WORKING PRINCIPLE:

It is equipped with 4 wide angle telescopes and associated CHARGE COUPLED DEVICE (CCD) DETECTORS. Drop in the brightness of the star due to planet transits is used to detect planets. And based on the decrease in light intensity, the size, mass and density of the planet's atmosphere is determined. The survey is divided into northern hemisphere (13 sectors), southern hemisphere(13 sectors). The survey is broken into 26 observation sectors, 13 sectors each year. The spacecraft will spend 13.7 days observing each sector. With every movement of cameras, TESS covers over 2000 degrees coverage. It's coverage is 400 times larger than Kepler. For bright stars, the TESS will capture images every minute, because more light can be captured as the star is bright. For dimmer M-STARS the TESS will capture every 30 minutes for enough light for a clear image. I have always found that I'm not exactly the type of guy that prefers hanging out after work or college to go out and let my hair down with a bunch of friends, unwinding and connecting with folks. I realise now that this isn't exactly a good thing.

You see, I like my video games and my movies. I like staying home, being cooped up on the bed or in front of my PC that I built with countless hours of work and just fly. Fly that helicopter or jet in GTA, slay monsters in The Witcher, play with friends as we take over objectives in Overwatch, recreate Dungeons and Dragons experience with the squad in Divinity: Original Sin 2, and so on. But I've never actually thought to myself that, on a Saturday night, I should be out there somewhere partying.

So this Saturday morning, I decided to make a conscious effort to socialise and build connections with the people in the city. The funny thing is, I already know a lot of people through various ways, without even having left my house to actively meet them. The online reach I enjoy is incredible and I love that fact. I'm much closer to friends online than I am to people I know in my immediate area, and more than once that has gotten the job done.

But not tonight. Tonight, this boy parties, tonight this boy socialises and tonight this climbs out of his shell.
"}]
Confusion about the next step to be taken is quite common for students like us who are about to finish their graduation.

Both Organizers and participants were enthusiastic about the conference as it was happening for the very first time at Stanley land.

As planned, the conference took place in our college on 18th September successfully.Participants were welcomed with a formal gesture of Drum rolls to the auditorium. Each participant represented a company (ex-Google,Microsoft..etc)and did complete justice to their role of impersonating the CEO of the company assigned to them,by neatly explaining about their company's motto, recruitment process, eligibility criteria, work atmosphere, benefits that they give to employees and their future initiatives with the help of a presentation for deeper impact.

Now, here comes the real thrill! Every participant had to face a question/answer session wherein other participants and audience could shoot questions about few controversial or unclear matters mentioned, which had to be answered by the concerned representative of the company. There were about 50 companies (from various sectors), 2 Banks and 4 higher education options that were shortlisted for the conference. Each one of them has done a remarkable individual research work prior to the conference and an equally appreciable exchange of knowledge on the day of the conference! With his students came to know about many new opportunities and scope available to them, of which they had not even given a thought earlier. Most crucial and the best part was, at the end of the day everyone one who participated as well as witnessed the event was able to strongly differentiate between the theoretical preparation that we usually do and the actual skill that is required to face career challenges.
