Tough and strong are often the adjectives for men. But why? A famous Bollywood dialogue says “Mard ko dard nahi hota”, but why? I often heard people say “boys don’t cry” or “why do you cry like a girl?” But why? The society wants to make him tough but end up making him stone hearted. They intend to make him strong but end up making him emotionless. We often ignore the fact that boys get hurt too, and there are times they just want to cry tell someone about it, but guess what? "Men don't cry" right?

I often hear some of my friends say "All men are the same". Trust me they are not. Every time someone says why spend so much on your daughter's education I have my father confronting them and defending me, and he is not "the same". Every time some random guy creeps me on my social profile and he is not "the same". I have my best friend threatening him to leave me alone. I remember this one incident clearly, I was once walking to my home on a deserted road, a man in his late twenties was stalking me but then two guys understood his intentions confronted him, and made sure he did follow me they were not "the same". Dear women, not all men are the same.

We talk about equality but there are incidents where an innocent guy was framed, publicly shamed, lost his job and respect. Just because a girl posted something on her social media profile. He was judged even before his side of the story was heard. What about right to equality? Dear women, being a women dosen't grant you special rights to destroy someone's life.

We talk about equality but then we expect a guy to pay your bills. Dear women, let us split the bill. We are equals after all.

Dear women,

Not all men are the same.

They can't be strong under all circumstances.

Let us hear what they have to say too.

Let us promote equality.

Let us understand this and stand up with them, just like they have been doing for us.

It was a long weekend or a Diwali Gallata as many of us were back home for the fun-filled celebrations of Diwali with the loved ones. I am a student pursuing my Engineering from a reputed college of Hyderabad. Last week was Diwali and I was excited about going home for the Celebrations of the Festival. My roommates and I were planning to start together on Saturday (Prior to Diwali week) as we belong from the same hometown. But none of us were able to reserve a seat on the bus/train. We then started looking for other modes to travel. I then remembered my college friend was selected as Campus Ambassador by Uber. I got to know about Uber Intercity from him who gave an INR 200 off promo code also. All we did was checked the price of Uber Intercity and divided among us. Trust me, it was lower than what we would have paid for bus/train fare per head.

We booked Intercity that picked us up from our doorsteps dropped us till home within less time compared to the bus or train. Though, there was no a rash driving through out the trip. My dream of travel via road in a luxurious manner with best friends was full filled. Hi, I am Varun pursuing my MBA and resident of Hyderabad, wishing you all a Happy Diwali.
Uber Intercity- Savior!
It is more than a tradition to celebrate any festival with all the family members including Grand Parents, Uncle-Aunt, Cousins for a memorable celebration and make the bonding stronger. To have a stress free and small picnic trip we took a farmhouse which is more than 250 Kms from Hyderabad. We were all set to go with our cars filled with all the necessities. It was awful when we noticed that the car was punctured. All were disheartened. But just then, my sister told us about Uber Intercity. I checked and the cab was pocket-friendly as the fare was around my petrol price. I realized that we can actually go without taking driving stress.

We immediately then booked an Intercity which was at our doorsteps within literally 15 mins and our joyous trip had finally begun!

txt
rich_1542178540850

We all know & have heard a renowned saying that is, “everything has two aspects, just like two sides of a coin”. But the question is, do we accept this in reality? This requires a deep introspection to find it’s truest answer. We always feel contended when we achieve something, but seldom we think or talk about the grey shades of life. So, here I am writing about an interesting incident of my life.

After my 12th results were declared in May 2015, I took a break to prepare for next year’s engineering exams & in the mean while, I was working hard to pursue my dream, to join Armed Forces as an officer. But that period of one year turned out to be a tough time. Continuous hurdles were coming on my way one after the other. Neither I was able to make it into Defence nor was I able to focus on entrance preparation. In May 2016, it was my 4th month in Hyderabad when I got a mail that I have been shortlisted for the Technical Cadet entry of the Navy for July 2016 course. This was supposed to be my 3rd attempt (defence aspirants will understand better). I had to report at Visakhapatnam Station at 0630 hours on the given date. I had roughly 2 weeks to prepare, which I utilized efficiently.

I boarded my train & my arrival at Visakhapatnam was at 0445 hours the next morning. During my journey, I called a senior school friend of mine who was then a cadet in the Army for final guidance. Everything was going smooth but, the All Mighty had planned something else in my destiny. I got up at 0400 hours when I got to know that the train was 1 hour late, still I had enough time. But very soon I got to know that it was 5 hours late. I called the MCO Visakhapatnam Station & the NSB (Naval Selection Board) repeatedly but there was no response. I was feeling as helpless as a drug addict feels when he doesn’t take his dose on time. I reached there at 0930 hours & as soon as I stepped out of the train, I rushed to the auto stand. With the hope that the testing might not have started, I reached the NSB in some 20 minutes. But, one half of the screening test was accomplished. I explained my situation to the officials, but rules can’t be changed for a single person.

1528033977487
txt

I returned to the station in the same auto, booked a tatkal ticket to Hyderabad on that same evening, sat in the waiting room & was thinking that why this happened. Since my ticket wasn’t confirmed, I had to complete the journey sitting on the floor near the gate, but that wasn’t a big issue. And the irony was that I reached Hyderabad ½ an hour earlier than the scheduled arrival time.

No one would like such an incident to happen, but the fact is if such things happen, accept it, learn from it & move on. That time I felt like I missed a chance but now I have understood that better opportunities will be coming on my way, just like the dialogue in M.S. Dhoni film, “Agar ye darwaza band nhi karte ,to woh wala nahi khulta”.
The Rachakonda Fort is the finest example of medieval Hindu Fort architecture. Back in 14th century it was built of large stones as a two storey structure without using any mortar. Sourav has a great interest in reading books but he is unable to spare time for his sole interest. He strives hard to manage time for reading. But his struggle always goes in vain because he can't help himself completing the whole book in his busy going life.

He wishes to have someone to give the jist of the book. Even many of us have this feeling...right!

Amrith Deshmukh reads for us. Not only for us, he reads for the whole nation. Amrut Deshmukh is the founder of booklet app. He is on the mission to cultivate the habit of reading among the Indian youth. He comes up with weekly book summaries both text and audio.

You can read a thick book just within 20 min using booklet app. Let me give you a lucid idea about this.

Amrith was engaged in the hunt for Startup ideas. One day his friend invited him for watching movie. They reached the theatre 15 minutes earlier and in order to kill time he started narrating a book to his friend. His friend was very much impressed by Amrith skills. He asked Amrith to share summary of the books.

Amrith felt this will be the proper idea as his startup. He spent sleepless nights right from the day to give shape to his idea. As he is from Chartered Accountant background he doesn't have any technical knowledge. But he didn't give up there, a quote from the book "It's not important what you have, it's important what you do with what you have", ignited him. He has Whats App so he started saying book summaries and within no time he got requests from thousand people and after 5 months it reached to 50,000. Through survey he realised that people like summaries but they didn't have time to read them. So he started making audio summaries. It was an instant hit and after facing many adversities he came up with a booklet app.

"Nobody is busy in life it's all about priorities. If you have time for Facebook you have time for book. Reading can't be a hobby, ever heard having breakfast as hobby..? " says Amrith. This sounds truly sensible!

Friends, this is an amazing app. Just download and join the great mission of making India read and fall in love with books.
"}]
