After the dreadful disease caused by virus (swine flu) persisted in the country...it took several lives in the early year of its spread over! Now, Nipah virus emerging in the country, have almost taken tens of lives.

NiV?

NiV(Nipah virus) has its headway towards the destruction of human specially after consuming the stale fruits...It is a disease transmits from animal to human.

Pigs were the instant host and the fruit bats are the natural host.

Its Existence!

It is first detected in late 90's in our neighbouring countries, Malaysia. It is recently found in one of our adjacent states, Kerala after being tested the blood samples of the corpse who died of viral fever.

Symptoms!

Nipah virus symptoms are similar to flu, fever, respiratory problems. Inflammation of the brain can also cause disorientation. sometimes a victim of NiV can show asymptomatic infection...probably, this leas to no showcase of symptoms.

How it spreads?

The virus spreads from human-to-human contact.Eating partially eaten fruits by infected bats and eating partially cooked meat of infected animals. Eating raw fruits without washing and drinking raw date palm extract can also cause the disease as they might be ingest by the infected bats.

Treatment!

There is no specific therapy for the cure of the disease.Victims need to be hospitalized after the immediate detection of the virus into the blood.Special care should be taken to prevent human -to-human transmission. Surveillance systems should be established to detect the virus quickly and to initiate appropriate control measures.

Prevention!

*Avoid contact with pigs and pig handlers.

*Maintain personal hygiene and intensive hand washing practice.

*Avoid consuming raw fruits.consume only well cooked, clean,home-made food.

*Use mask while travelling or working in public places to avoid person to person transmission.

Laughing Buddha, the statue of him itself brings a sense of happiness and a pleasant aura around you. The Laughing Buddha is cherished all over the world. He is found in homes, restaurants, places of business and so on. He is also known to bring wealth and prosperity to a home or business. It is very easy to recognize the Laughing Buddha. He is shown wearing a robe and prayer beads often hang around his neck. He is bald and has a big fat tummy.

There are different types of Buddha statues like Laughing Buddha playing with kids, Laughing Buddha with a bowl, Laughing Buddha with a fan, Laughing Buddha with a sack or bag, Laughing Buddha with dots or balls. Many of us know there is a saying that if wish for something rubbing the stomach of laughing buddha your wish will be granted but how many of us know the story of laughing buddha and who he was?

He was named Hotei or Pu-Tai is best known as the jolly Laughing Buddha. In China, he is known as the Loving or Friendly One. He was truly a great Zen master and legend has a great story which is so inspirational for all of us. The jolly good saint that he was used to going from one place to the other. He went to the Town Square, he was so funny looking and always smiling that people used to crowd around him. He would then distribute sweets and small toys to all children who had gathered around him. Then keep his bag down, look to the sky and just start laughing. He used to laugh madly whether he was interested or not. Soon his laughter used to be contagious and all who had gathered would start to laugh. The whole town used to laugh and laugh.

After some time he would pick the bag, which he had kept down, smile to all, and go to the next town. All his life he did only this action and it was said that many people attained Nirvana, enlightenment just through this process. Hence he was called as the laughing Buddha. His saying says "It is our birthright to laugh" and "No matter what happens we should come back to laughing". He just didn't preach this, he made people realize this through his actions.

He never did deviate from this path, even just before he died he hid a lot of crackers and rockets in his clothes. So there also he created such laughter by the suddenness of the situation. So Hotei not only lived in laughter all through his life, he also died in laughter. It's such a blessing to have a statue of such a man at our homes or business but more to all his principle of laughter does make lives much better.

When you take out the trash or flush the toilet - do you even stop to think about the vast amounts of energy you're actually throwing away? Probably not - and that's okay! Here to think about those scores of precious potential energy for us is green-as-can-be waste treatment company GENeco, and it's ground-breaking BioBus. That's right, the BioBus runs on trash and sewage.

Already more than just a pipe dream, the first BioBus is currently active in the United Kingdom, shuttling passengers back and forth every day from Bristol Airport.

1527004839028
txt

So how does it work? First, a GENeco waste disposal plant treats both food waste and sewage, using a natural process which mimics the human digestive system. The result is biomethane - the purified gas which fuels the BioBus, along with 8,300 UK homes every day. On a full tank of gas, the bus can travel 200 miles - not bad for what is essentially broken down unwanted food and sewage!!!

1527004839028
txt"}]
From the beginning of our existence, nature raised us like kids and gave what all it can give us. We gracefully accepted all the resources and made our lives better and better as days passed by. But, there is a limit to everything, as we grew wiser and wiser we became equally stupid and the time had come and we started facing the counter effects and the wrath of nature.

Nature has literally helped us in every single step of our evolution into what we are now and in fact, it is the main reason we still live and breathe on this planet. But, the way we are treating nature is extremely bad and painful. We have grown arrogant enough to destroy our own selves, how foolish this sounds. We continue to kill the flora and fauna on this planet and it looks like the race is on for how fast we could make most of them extinct and limit them only to the textbook pictures of our future generations. Thing is, we are given so much and enough resources for our survival. Yet, we are never satisfied with what we have and of course, that’s our default trait but we never tend to look at the consequences until it’s too late and that’s what makes us primitive.

Scientists estimate that we have increased the rate of extinction of species by 1000 to 10,000 times the normal. These studies and researches are enough to prove how worse things are and these are only a few of many alarming studies. It’s pretty clear that rallies, resolutions and protocols are just nothing until and unless we try to do something from the inside. It’s our small steps which makes a big difference. Life is pretty rare and precious and after all, it’s definitely worth saving…
"}]
One fine day, I sit to meditate on the philosophies of life and for the millionth time call myself a loser and go into pangs of guilt and so-called 'tanhaaii'. I realize that I am not blaming myself for not doing things right, no. I am blaming myself for not doing things at all. Somehow, down the lane, all my stones are still unturned. I prodded the old bean a little more for the reason behind my 'millionth failure'.

For an answer I got a little verse,

Decisions unkempt, promises unkept;

Overdue debt and attempts inept.

txt
rich_1526825948597

The verse is decently good, all the same I was in a miserable soup.
Decisions, I realized, were evil little buggers. And so are choices. One moment you have this great inspiration and you decide to change for the good. And from that blighted moment, they haunt you. Apparently that moment of inspiration is not enough.

It's like if you commit to something, you have to do it all time, every time. Every new day demands commitment, demands deliberation, demands perseverance. And there lies the problem - Inconsistency.

txt
rich_1526826219954

If there's anything I learnt from it all, it is that 'great ideas go into garbage for lack of consistency'. This fact is obvious but not that common. And you end up like me - all stones unturned.

Again, I feel it's not fair to call oneself a loser because of not being able to 'continue doing things'. Also, if you struggle everyday, what then is freedom??

txt
rich_1526826281013

So to get out of this soup, as old Frost said, "The best way out of a problem is through it", nothing else goes. The best way here is to teach myself to respect the decision I made, just because I had the nerve to make it. To revere that 'moment of inspiration' which led to the decision. Tell myself every moment that the decision was not made to be shelved. That I run, walk or crawl, but I get through and as the old saying goes, that I leave no stone unturned.... And in response I got another little verse,

"That bugger Decision is your key

to the realm of Change;

So just love it and be free

For true freedom is the Freedom to Change."

Hoping that it is relatable (I don't want to be the only one to feel this way ; ) ) and that this is comforting and useful to those of you who feel the same.
"}]
I got a chance to do an internship with “VOICE FOR GIRLS” where I need to teach some group of students who belongs to different age group, different villages, and even with different understanding levels. It was a ten day camp for adolescent girls and boys that aim to equip them with critical knowledge and life skills that would enable them to take charge of their lives and our also motive was that the camp should not feel like school. We were responsible for facilitating learning activities through quiz and action games, stories, group work, and so much more. We also learned from the campers, by encouraging them to speak about their own lives and share their opinions. Our goal was to help marginalized adolescent girls and boys in India to take charge of their future by giving them critical knowledge and life skills through activity based camps.

Critical knowledge means information about basic-health safety, self-awareness, rights, higher education, marriage and future planning.

Life skills are interpersonal skills, leadership, and problem solving, independent and critical thinking ability.

The campers were basically aged between 11 and 16 because this is a turning point where decisions are being made for them, and without information they have little control over their own future. Because they can’t speak for themselves, they may remain caught in and continue cycle of poverty and social inequality.

So after 10 days of my internship at least 1% change was seen in their behavior, in understanding things and they also learn to react to any situation. They learned from each other many things they learned about complete different subject and this was possible by team work. They came up with innovative ideas when they were given group activities. It was also seen that group activity plays an important role in learning from others. Not only students should be given the opportunity for self-assessment and be encouraged to evaluate their habits, attitudes, and behavior with respect to personal health and well-being. This can be accomplished through real-life activities or stimulations in which students become involved in a meaningful way.
Successful learning also hinges on interaction and engagement. The importance of interaction is not new. Students learn while working on team projects: they learn about each other, they learn about the subject, and they may learn about completely different subjects. When students network mingling informally, online or face-to-face with other students, faculty members, or people in the external community, they learn as well.
Individual students may be better suited to learning in a particular way, using distinctive modes for thinking, relating and creating. The notion of students having particular learning styles has implications for teaching strategies. Because preferred modes of input and output vary from one individual to another, it is critical that teachers use a range of teaching strategies to effectively meet the needs of individual learners. To sum up I would like to suggest that if government introduce such summer winter internship or courses where one is able to share their knowledge and even learn from others it will be beneficial for us and even to whom we are teaching or giving knowledge because it will enhance our knowledge and we will be able to learn from our future generation who can shape the country in a new form and together can help India make better and a developed country

We are special in a sense how differently we look, how differently we talk and think, how differently we feel and how different experiences we have in our lives. They makes us special.

Once we are in this world, we ourselves perceive so many things from our surroundings and people we meet and everything makes a mark in our lives, changes us a bit and makes us what we are today.

Being special is being simple. Life truly is enhanced by little gestures that people dear to us make. Any one can feel special. Look for the things you like, for the people you love and who love you as much as you do, for a way to be proud of yourself. You might be writing down your own STORY OF YOUR LIFE that will make you feel special. Because, it will be a book only you can write since you are the only one who have gone through everything you are writing down. We get a uniqueness on this globe. Genetically also, one is unique I mean special.

You are special if you take the responsibility for your own life and have big DREAM. One should try thinking out of the box when you are preparing a pitch on what makes you special. If you cannot say DIFFERENT THINGS, say the same THINGS DIFFERENTLY.

If you want to truly know what you are and who exactly you are...just talk...talk to yourself and see what comes ahead. Everybody is different, even two fingers of the same hand doesn't hold equal but they are SPECIAL in all sets...Just like that, we all have a lot of uniqueness which we learnt from so many things gradually and now it's part of us...it's something which decides, why and how we are SPECIAL.

I would lie if I say I am fine.
Not everyone can be fine all the time.
Even those who aspire to inspire have to fight their own demons and I guess that's why they want to inspire, so that everyone can fight them.

I am stuck.
I have choices to make, decisions to take and a journey to choose.
And I admit, I am scared. Just like you are.
And I don't know what to do. Just like you don't.
We all are in motion, we are moving but why do we feel frozen?
Why does it feel like a free fall?

I have been here, often. I know the pain, the suffering, the hopelessness and the darkness.
We think we know the end which makes everything worthless.
Even life.

So what do we do now?
Where do we go?
What would save us?

Two words....
The only words that have always and will always save us.
Hope & Love.

Hope that we will be fine.
Hope that it's just a matter of time.
Love will fix us.
Love will heal us.

"}]
Die hard fans were in for a great ride today as they witnessed the marvellous expedition called Deadpool 2. The filmmakers didn't disappoint the fans who were waiting tirelessly since two years for this film which was announced even before the first movie was released. Spoiler Alert: Don't read ahead if you haven't watched the movie yet.

The movie starts in classic 'Deadpool style', with the mercenary killing 'extremely bad guys' all over the world, only to get his girlfriend killed in the process. What follows is a series of meetups with the X-Men, some unwanted emotional instants(which was unexpected of Deadpool, but well, his love dies here), and some jaw dropping action coupled woth gruesome deaths. The arrival of Cable further springs up the action. Deadpool 2 stays true to it's reputation with some deep dark humour. But what demands applause here are the fantastic references the film made to pop culture. Ranging from Robocop to Rihanna, everything was on the cards. Any nerd would be completely bowled over by it. Hell, even a Stranger Things reference was made in the end! The post credits scene, though illogical, was one of the best and funniest credits scene in the history of superhero movies.

The movie starts with a bang but gradually slows down. The second half picks up pace and the movie finally ends on a high note. Taking everything into account, Deadpool 2 is highly recommended.

There are always some set of questions out there which we don’t feel like asking, we might feel like they are weird or not so important. But, questions like those at times make the differences. So, let’s get straight into some of those…

Why stars in the night sky appear red and blue at times?

Yeah, it’s yet again our eyes which deceive us. You know what, our yellow star is actually not yellow. Our sun is white in colour when seen in space. Our atmosphere makes the entire blue colour to disperse and our eyes receive only the wavelengths of light close to yellow and so our sun looks yellow. Coming to the night sky, taking the Weins-displacement law into consideration the Stars that are hot with huge temperatures emits blue colour and comparatively colder stars emit the radiation in the wavelength range of red colour and so appear to be red in colour as the hotter ones appear blue.

What if we don’t have a Moon?

Well, that’s not going to be great. Our moon is responsible for the tides on our planets and which are pretty important for the aquatic ecosystem. Our moon is responsible for the stabilization of our own planet in order to maintain stability without any significant change in axial tilt. If there is no moon, our Earth goes haywire with the rotation and there would be no seasons and we should be ready to face pretty bad consequences.

Why don’t we feel the spin of our planet?

It is simple, we don’t feel the spin of Earth because of inertia and the constant speed with which it moves. And moreover, even our atmosphere spins with the same velocity as the land. If not, it would have been the other way around and those velocity differences could have caused a massive destruction.

There are seemingly many questions that haunt us from our childhood and years pass by we generally restrict our wild imaginations and questions. But, one of the best ways to improve our self is keep asking questions and that makes the difference…
"}]
In a recent twist of events, B. S. Yeddyurappa had to resign once again in his career from the post of Chief Minister. Unable to prove absolute majority, BJP decide not to go for the floor test and citing moral reasons, decided to pull out from forming the government. The JD(S) and Congress are having a ball, and the Congress, hell bent on forming the government, has finally probably succeeded in it's mission. Whether or not this is a setback for the BJP for the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections will be seen with the passage of time.

The Congress has to be given some credit for some of their recent actions. They were quick to act upon some of the recent developments, and made full use of the Indian Judiciary. Using some of the best lawyers, they succeeded in bring down the time from 15 days to only 2 days, pushing the BJP to a tight position. Degrading the JD(S) since a long time, they were quick to turn over a new leaf and create an alliance with them. Whether this government holds or not will be interesting. The BJP may try out something like the Bihar incident. Politics has completely become un-democratic in India, with new dirty tricks tried out every other day.

B. S. Yeddyurappa made an emotional speech in the assembly, obviously keeping political ambitions in mind. The BJP has still not lost, and they still have those 104 winning MLAs in their pocket. The sympathy factor may work out for them next year as being predicted by many. But one thing is for sure, Modi sure hasn't lost his charm. The whole coastal area where he campaigned in Karnataka has become completely saffron after the results.
