The child who was pulled into the world by Marvel Comics's The Mighty Thor completely immersed himself in the mythology and gave us some of the best works influenced by it.
The reason I'm talking more about Gaiman in this review than the book is because the book is a love letter by Gaiman to the Norse Mythology, to a part of his life that was spent reading about the incredible old gods and their stories, and how much it has influenced him since then. The book itself is incredible, the structure in which the story is told, separating the mythology from the 'players' as Gaiman writes about the gods. The book is neatly structured into multiple sections that delve into the story of the one that is named at the beginning of the section. The conversations between gods feel like conversations you physically bear witness to, and that is a mark of a really great writer, to be able to transport you to the vision they had in their mind.

This might not be Gaiman's best work, but he has no interest in giving us a reason to find fault with the book. Sure we've posted about internships all week but that doesn't mean you are ready to get one. While the intent to do an internship is half the battle, the other half is making sure you are selected for internships yourself! Here's a few simple steps you can take to make sure this happens.

1. Apply everywhere

Apply to each and every internship opportunity that you see, it doesn't matter if you get it or not. Just make sure you apply, so you keep yourself on your toes and constantly work in improving yourself while also making sure you land more than just one internship, allowing you to choose between the offers and select the one that suits you the best.

3. Search wisely

I did say apply everywhere, but that doesn't mean it has to be to every internship in the market. You've got to narrow down your field of search, and then apply to everything you see. This helps you intern in the field you are interested in, and that's basically the whole point of getting an internship.

4. Search some more

If you thought you were done searching for internships, you are wrong. Keep searching, researching and looking into every inch of the industry you want to intern in. A good internship might be around the corner but a truly great internship shows itself only once in a while. That being said, do not compromise on applying, even if you do not get the amazing internship, you will still have plenty of great internships to choose from.

5. Hard Mode

Do all of the above while refusing to take pocket money from home. The self imposed handicap will make you innovate and adapt to new conditions of not having money, and thus you will also face the very real world choice of choosing money or job satisfaction, or finding an internship that gives you both. Nothing like finding an internship when you know your next meal might depend on it, it's life's hard mode.

It's not always feasible to buy a giant TV for your home, especially if you've just graduated, moved to a new city for a job and want to have a TV at home you can watch movies on or play games with. With it's wonderful pricing and nifty size (It's 32 inches), the Sony Bravia HD Ready LED TV is a nice little addition to your house, if you aren't looking for a full HD experience or a larger TV.

Pros:

The TV comes packaged with a clearer resolution feature to give it the appearance of having a higher resolution that it actually does (the TV is capped at the regular laptop resolution of 1366x768), and can also be wall mounted!

One of the major gripes I have with TV sets is when there is a lack of ports. One HDMI port and one USB port will simply not cut it in 2017, it makes no sense not to have more than one or even two these days. This model has two HDMI Ports, which is not bad, but only one USB port which makes no sense, but I suppose you get what you pay for.

The picture quality is excellent for the asking price, during the review I tested the movie with some of the most gorgeous movies in the industry and I am happy to report that the picture quality seems uncompromising, but not the best. There is more to be said here, but we will get to that in the next section.

Cons:

Despite the Motionflow technology native to Bravias, the upscaling of movies and images on the TV do not work well enough. It is still great to view it from a distance but if you're the kind of person who likes to absorb the details then it will bother you.

As mentioned earlier, the number of ports are simply too less. Two HDMI ports are manageable but one USB port is simply inexcusable.

Final Thoughts

Considering what we pay for this TV and the quality we're getting for that price, it is practically a steal and a great addition to your place for some Rest and Recreation. If you've been looking for a budget TV that fits your needs and is not big enough to be a bother as well as not small enough to be insignificant, go for this TV.

Do you remember hearing mythological tales as a child, with your mouth hanging open as you stare at your grandparent/elderly figure, hooked to every word they speak, your little mind blowing at every new and amazing detail? Reading Norse Mythology by master wordsmith Neil Gaiman is the same, except this time you're older, wiser and yet have your mouth hanging open at the style with which Niel tells the story of the old gods of the cold lands to the north.

It is difficult to put down a Neil Gaiman book, which can be both a blessing and a curse depending on whom you ask and how much time they have for reading books. His writing appeals to your sense of wonder and imagination, and this book is full of that. Gaiman takes you on a journey of discovering the Norse Mythology through his words.

If anything, I am sad that the book had to end.

When the book does end, it's like a spell has broken and you are back to your comfortable reading chair or bed, and all you want to do is jump into the magic once again. It is a hard book to put down, and it is a love letter by Gaiman to Norse Mythology. With this book, he brings to us what enthralled him all these years, and it is something everyone should pick up to read.

The point of a movie is not just to internet. Cinema, truly great cinema, makes you think, introspect, and more importantly, inspire: it inspires you to run after your dreams and to be uncompromising in your pursuit of greatness. So here's 5 must watch movies for students!

1. Good Will Hunting

Robin Williams has had a long and illustrious career with many incredible and powerful performances, but his role as Sean Maguire in Good Will Hunting is one that made the most impact on me, personally. Along with a young Matt Damon playing Will Hunting, the movie explores themes of realising one's potential. This movie encourages students to introspect and come to terms with the talents they have, and is one of the reasons I started my career in writing.

2. Dead Poets Society

'O Captain, my captain! The fearful trip is done!"

The famous poem by Walt Whitman will become one of the most memorable scenes for you from this movie. The movie starring the incredible Robin Williams who plays an English teacher named John Keating, follows his unorthodox teaching methods to a group of teenagers in high school and how he eventually finds a place in all their hearts. 3. School of Rock

Jack Black's incredibly funny and incredibly inspiring 2003 movie about teaching his students how to stop having their nose buried in books all the time and inspiring them to take up music and let their passion speak for them is a beautiful movie hidden under its comedy and goofiness. It's a movie which encourages students to follow their heart and fight for what is theirs.

Based on the true story of Michael Oher, this Oscar winning movie is about a young Oher being adopted by the Tuohy family. Leigh Anne Tuohy and her husband extended their home and their love to the young Michael Oher who went on to discover his strengths thanks to his new family and went on to become a famous American Football star. Unlike other countries, videogames did not come to India until the 1990s and weren’t very accessible till the late 2000s. They were considered a luxury, but that’s not the case now. Times have changed. Gaming is more common now than ever, so it is time the mind-set changed.

Indian parents are just not okay with videogames. And they have good reason to feel this way. The present gaming generation are youngsters aged 15-25. Most of our parents are 40-50 years old. This means that when they were our age, about twenty years ago, the things they did in their free time were completely different compared to what we do. Yes, gaming addiction is very dangerous and on the rise too. Gaming for long hours at a stretch has serious implications. But that is something that can be controlled. One must ensure proper physical exercise every day, take breaks between gaming sessions, and keep hydrated.

Videogames will always be frowned upon by the previous generation. I have tried to educate my parents about videogames, and I haven’t made much progress, and it looks like I just have to stick to sneaking out every night and game while everyone sleeps.
"}]
