It's not normal for a Telugu movie to generate the hype Bahubali 2 or Bahubali: The Conclusion managed to generate. The movie could have done without a marketing campaign and still would have generated the level of hype we see today, merely on the backs of the question: Why did Kattappa kill Bahubali?

That question, along with a lot others, are answered and how! Bahubali: The Conclusion is one of those rare breed of movies that live up to the hype generated. It's a grand movie, full of style and spectacle designed to awe the audience, and it manages to pull that off with flying colours.

If Bahubali: The Beginning was an introduction to the characters of this (in terms of Indian cinema) richly detailed world, The Conclusion wastes no time in fleshing them out, and while there's some literal on the house metaphors, it doesn't take away from the experience of watching this beautiful movie.

And how beautiful it is! It goes without saying that the CGI won't be as good as watching a big budget Hollywood flick, and if you're someone that is easily distracted by obvious CGI, this movie will bother you at times, however, the landscapes, kingdoms, battlegrounds are so lovely rendered, it's hard not to notice the amount of love and hard work that went into the movie.

Director S. S. Rajamouli is no stranger to fame, his movies have enthralled audiences over the years with the wide range of projects he's picked up, and without a doubt, Bahubali: The Conclusion is his best work till date. Combined with K. K. Sentil Kumar's camera work, there are multiple scenes in the movie that make you sit back and think how fantastic it would be as a wallpaper, and while every frame in the movie might not be a painting, there's more that a few examples of how beautifully shot this movie is.

Anushka Shetty as Queen Devasena and Ramya Krishna as Sivagami the Queen Regent of Mahishmati far outshone every other performance in the movie, with Daggubati Rana's role as the tyrant Bhallaladeva comes a close second, which is impressive on it's own considering how much screen time he got in comparison to the others. In fact, we like the two leading ladies so much, we'd watch a Saas-Bahu show gladly if it featured the two of them in the same roles. Prabhas, while taking the most amount of screen time, was notable only for his physicality and not for the acting. That being said, he's central to most of the movie's impressive set pieces and spectacles, and Prabhas does a great job in becoming one with his role instead of sticking out like a sore thumb.

Does the movie get silly at times? Yes it does, it also gets quite problematic at times in it's language, but it's offset by two of the strongest women characters we've seen in a Telugu movie, and that too in the same movie sharing screen space with each other!

Of course the fact that this is surprising is a reflection of the state of our industry, and there are consistency issues with the movie. It fails to bridge the gap between the prequel and itself: the first movie released in 2015, unless people watched it again, they are going to be confused when the movie cuts back to Kattappa telling the young Mahendra Bahubali about his father.

A few other complaints I have with the movie is that there's too much screen time used for unnecessary plot points, that ultimately served no purpose. This combined with the drawn out love story in the first half are the weakest parts of this otherwise robust movie, and we definitely think they could have done away with a few cuts in the editing room.

One thing is certain though: There's no other movie like it in Indian cinema. The scale of this movie, the visuals, the world building and the characters, they even managed to accurately show an arrow's sway after it's fired. There was literally no reason to do that, and perhaps not many would notice it, but it was a nice touch and it's little movements like that arrow sway that make this movie a unique experience, and one of the best movies made in India.

Watch Bahubali: The Conclusion, it's a beautifully shot movie full of great characters, with the cherry on the top being the fantastic performances by the two leading ladies, Ramya Krishna and Anushka Shetty. It's a milestone in Telugu cinema, and indeed, Indian cinema, a benchmark, if you will. S. S. Rajamouli's direction will leave you impressed, and long after the movie you'll still remember the meticulously crafted shots.
"}]

The Indian Engineering Services is one of the most prestigious civil services to the Republic of India, and the exam that recruits for it, the Engineering Services Examination is considered one of the toughest exams in India. After pondering over various experts views on how to prepare for ESE and serve the nation through IES, we've finally collected the wealth of information gained into five points on this article. Do note that due to the nature of Engineering and it's various branches, this article is only going to have the general points that apply to all branches and not specific ones

Here's how you can prepare for the IES

1. Study regularly

Chances are if you are an IES aspirant then you know the kind of sacrifice and study it requires to achieve what you want to achieve, and thus already know the value of regular preparation. The National Institute of Design was established in the 60s with the goal of driving the creative thinking through designing and encouraging more Indians to be more innovative. Since then it has only grown in stature and today is one of the premier institutions in the country for learning how to design, offering a Bachelors and well as Masters degree in the same. In this article, we dispel myths and talk about what you can do to get into the NID. So, getting down to the brass tacks, we start off with

1. No, you don't need to know drawing to get into NID

This is quite a popular misconception, one that even I held until I did my research: You do not need to know how to draw to get into the NID, but you do need to not be afraid of learning how to draw. Be willing to learn, and NID will turn your life around. During my hunt for information about NID, I heard this term being repeated multiple times, 'You don't need to know drawing to get into NID, you need to knowing drawing to become a designer.'

Which basically means you should be willing to learn, because you will be taught how to draw at NID.

2. Know Thy Exam

The NID conducts an aptitude test every year for the academic year and it's not your typical exam that the rat race runners of Indian schools prepare you for. There's really no proper study material or guide that you can follow to clear the test and get through to NID. All I can say is go through previous question papers and solve them, and you'll understand how unique the exam is.

Based on Carl Jung's aptitude test, the exam is comparable to the test the Indian Army uses to recruit officers, and there's no books you can mug to study for that. So how do you even prepare for an exam like this?

3. Read newspapers

It should be obvious to you by now that this is not a typical exam. No amount of cramming general knowledge books in your exam will help you as much as reading a newspaper regularly and giving your powers of observations a nice workout. A good designer sees the fault-lines in the world and designs around it, a good designer's biggest asset is their power of observation, which sadly is not taught in a school system where priority is only given to memorising and writing the same in a piece of paper.

4. Watch a lot of movies and play unique video games

Design isn't restricted to just one or two mediums, designs exist everywhere, in almost every medium. A great designer watches a ton of movies and some play video games, and more importantly, discuss them. There are some incredibly stylish movies out there, and then there's games like Killer is Dead, Bayonetta, NieR:Automata by Japanese developers that are incredibly stylish and cool to play, and rely a lot on cool design. \\

You need these to understand that design is not a set rule in any given situation, design is an ever evolving beast that you can tame and make your own. How you do it, it's up to you, but to do it, you'll have to understand it's nuances.

5. Ambition

For an unconventional exam, you will get unconventional tips. The biggest factor that will get you into the NID is ambition to succeed as a designer. It should be more important to you to be a designer over earning a fat paycheck. People live for their craft, and the ones who go into this field are the ones who put their craft first. Do you have what it takes?

We sure hope so!

There are very few professions that allow you to directly impact a person's life and bring positive change through one's actions as much as law and being a lawyer does. With the world becoming smaller each and every day with constant innovations and faster air travel, it is important to acquaint oneself with international law. In times like these when there's a refugee crisis in the Middle East and our own backyard in Myanmar, and with tensions high across the world, it only seems right that we take the initiative to stand up for what's right.

That being said, here are a few reasons on why you should consider International Law

1. Mounting Tensions

With war, there are war crimes. The saying that history is written by the victor is true, because often we never hear about the atrocities committed by the winners. With India hounding Vijay Mallya and trying to get him extradited from the United Kingdom, we understand why international law is important as they also deal with Extradition laws. There are complex laws between countries to return fugitives from their waters and land, and you can fight to bring them to justice.

It is said that service to man is service to God, and if there is one organisation under the government that adopts this ideal into their daily life, it is the NSS.

The National Service Scheme, launched in Mahatma Gandhi's centenary year (1969) is now spread across the country in many colleges, with their motto being 'Not me, but you' a motto they've been true to as seen by their actions. Every year, the NSS awards the best volunteers from across the country in a ceremony. We speak to Boranchu Manish Reddy, selected for the Best NSS Volunteer award for this year.

Manish, a final year student of CVSR College, joined the NSS in his first year, "I've always been interested in service, and serving fellow humans is one of the best things you can do for the society," says the young student. From volunteering various camps to organising them, Manish has been involved in conducting blood donation camps, eye camps and adopting villages and conducting 7 programs in 7 days.

In fact, such is his dedication to service, in 2015, Manish Reddy was awarded the best blood donor award, for regularly donating his blood, as soon as he is able.

Manish very humbly points out that he isn't the only winner of the best volunteer award, "Many people across various colleges applied for the award, but 8 people from Telangana were selected. Of the 8, I'm the only one from JNTU," he says, before talking about his time in NSS, "I've been involved in various events conducted by the NSS. I was also one of the few selected to go to the pre-Republic Day Parade, which in turn has selections for the NSS parade during Republic Day."

We asked Manish what his advice to students who want to follow in his footsteps would be, and he promptly replied, "There is only one thing I want to say, really. If you want to serve the nation and it's people, do not do it just for the sake of. Love what you're doing, and do what you love."

An inspiration to many students, especially his juniors, we can only hope more students take Manish Reddy as their inspiration and focus on service and consider joining the NSS. We wish Manish Reddy all the best for his future endeavours.
"}]
