After thinking about this topic, I began to realize the importance of knowing more about my relatives. Sometimes a family tree is written for reasons other than just being able to trace your roots. Obviously, if it were not for my relatives I could not have existed. The gift of life is indeed a gift, a gift I believe is only given to us once

txt

My grandparents have taught me things more than just being a good person in the society. And here I'd like to mention specially about my grandfather who recently passed away.

His presence in the house was like light in the darkest of woods. Do you remember that period of your age when you were just an infant and your grandparents used to take care of you? If yes, then it is amazing. But if no, then this article will surely take you down the memory lane. My birth took place in a missionary hospital in Nirmal Nagar, Belgaum. My mom has flown down to stay with my maternal grandparents at the time of my birth. I was born in March and from the day I was born the pampering had crossed all the bounds. As much as I remember and from what my parents tell e, I always used to be in the arms of one or the other family member and was kept in the cradle during the night time. From birth, I lived with my grandparents for straight 7 years. My play school days, nursery, L.K.G, U.K.G and 1st class of my life was under the guidance of my grandfather and my grandmother. My grandfather a retired Air Force officer used to run a school at that time. The school named Saraswati Balmandir was where I had my 1st 3 years of schooling. Even though my grandfather was the headmaster, the teachers didn't show any kind of leniency. My grandfather used to give me tons of sum when I used to come from school, reminding me that practice makes a man perfect. Till date, he is the best teacher I have ever received who was sweet and strict at the same time. Along with the mathematical numerical, he habituated me to get up early, go on morning walks with him and try to read the newspaper along with him at that time. The study sessions with him were always accompanied by moral values and lessons of life which a4-6 year child could understand. The best part of the years that I had the chance to stay with him was the bedtime stories. Every day the story used to be based on two characters "chanubhai" and "dhanubhai". Each story ended with either me laughing my heart out or silently sobbing in his comfortable arms. For me, my grandfather always is the statue of punctuality and discipline. Whereas my kindness and caring attitude towards people is nurtured by my grandmother. From being her 1-day baby to her 18-year granddaughter, I feel proud when she says how bold and pretty you have become and my reply never changes when I say that whatever I am, it is because of you both. These are the things which make me confident enough to stand on my feet and to face any damn challenge thrown at me by life. They truly have directed my life into a better path.

txt
There are several words with negative connotations. These words are often used to talk about something bad, without even considering the fact that they can be used for positive things. For example, the word ‘cult’ has a negative connotation and I also had to justify my intention behind using that word in stuMagz’ tagline - “Connect. Collaborate. Cult.”. But now I see many big businesses using the word as a part of their branding. So is it time to rethink certain words and make them a part of our lives to ensure higher productivity? I definitely think so and the first word that comes to my mind right now is the word ‘selfish’.

Selfishness has always been associated with greed and all the gyaan has always advised people to be selfless. Selflessness has always been shown as a virtue but I believe it is important for someone to be selfish in some aspects. More specifically, when it is in a professional manner, without hurting anyone or causing harm to anyone.

When a person is selfish and the person wants to achieve something, his/her selfishness will drive them towards success. Their selfishness to be on the top is what will make them push their limits and overcome everything. I believe selfishness is a great enabler and a great motivator. Honestly speaking, I have a few individuals working with me whose selfishness is what makes them work harder and is what that brings out the best in them. I always tell my team to work for themselves and their personal growth as I believe their collective personal growth is the growth of my company. If they work selflessly without caring for their personal growth, I firmly believe that they would not work beyond a point and they would not want to excel.

Bottom-line, be selfish for your own growth.
"}]
All the love gushing down their eyes, when purity takes it strides.
Try me not my dear,
He will knock you down, who? My grandfather!
Grandparents,
The name which depicts love and care in every sense. The feeling of possesiveness and mine , the protection in the touch, the caring hand which pats us to sleep, the loving hand which feeds us, is what I feel we are all redeemed with. Everytime when your parents start giving you earful, the only weapon you can use against them. And also
Everytime you ask questions, the only people who responds with utmost patience is them.
In this modern era, where we fight with ourselves for people who ignore us, there are this people sitting in their homes waiting for our arrivals, or calls.
When there are people around us with expectations , there are this people who gave us their name, fame, wealth, health, love, care and whatnot without expecting anything but our Time.. I still remember the little old games I used to play with my maternal grandmother all my summer. The way she used to give us bath, pamper us giving us a natural spa treatment, feed us till we return home double the size we went there. She always handles the entire household, with five grandchildren single handedly, promising all our wishes, granting us gifts, loving us, and most importantly feeding us food every time. The little bike rides all over the town by my maternal grandfather, dropping us to school, is always exciting. Being an intellectual himself, we always used to challenge ourselves puzzles, mathematics in particular. The little fun we used to have, riding on his back was something we would cherish all this life.
The special sweet he makes every Sankranthi, sitting in my grandparent's Hall , chatting, laughing and making them is once in a lifetime vibe..
They say, House turns Home with every ounce of love and care for our people. When world goes against , how I wish I run to the most warmth place - My Grandparents home. The strength they give to fight against all the odds in this present world is always chivalrous. Experience is the father of all experiments. Being a singer and lyricist herself, my paternal grandmother is The Nightingale of our family. Master Chef in cooking delicacies. I always enjoy the festivities in her home, where she never gets compromised even for little little things, putting us all on our toes striving for perfection.
The Major head of our Family,
A retired Principal,
A man who was potrayed as an Arrogant and Strict father, turned to a vivacious, darling Grand father. Never have I ever seen him serious, while being around us. He makes sure the house is stuffed with our favorite snacks and drinks, before hand.
.
Well we all must be special we have this chance to experience this love , the past with them. Never will I forget all the funtimes and blessed childhood with my beauties, and heroes.
.

txt

Entrepreneurship is recognized as an important catalyst of economic growth of a country. When I was about to write about a photographer, I decided to write about him. Though he is not trained from a professional photographic institution, his photographs are eye-catchy and are connected to our daily lives.

When I asked him about his journey, Praveen Kadari a 4th-year mechanical student says, “I was 12 when my father gets a DSLR to our home which we occasionally use during festivals, family functions, and family trips. When I was in the 10th standard, during my family get-togethers I was happened to see the photos of our DSLR, that’s when I realized, that, “We take photographs to the moments otherwise gone. Photographs are the pause button of our life.”

After, S. S. C, I joined in Narayana Residency College. I don’t have an interest in those boring classes, so, I used to travel through the streets and realized that “true beauty lies in these streets.” During my Dussehra vacation, I went home and saw an old digital camera sitting in the cupboard gathering cobwebs. I brought the camera with me to the hostel. I used to take the camera with me when I go out and used to click snaps of what I felt close to, what was related to my connections, my real and imaginary encounters, my feelings, and emotions. I started taking every photograph that was meaningful to me on any level deliberately. That’s how the story of my snaps started.

Whenever I click a photo I will make sure that the photo could tell a story and will always keep these points in mind

• Focus on the subject and Reframe the shot. Generally accidental refocusing decreases the livelihood of missing your focus point.

• I will consider the wider content. The photograph should communicate to the viewer more than just something about the subject. It may have a very compelling story to tell.

• Making it spontaneous. You can see straight away that it just happens in front of the photographer, and they will capture the moment. Most of the great pictures have been captured where events have unfolded…it’s happened in split seconds, and they’ve caught the image.

• Don’t ignore the key ingredients that engage people’s emotions such as (laughter, Angry, Sadness, Love, Compassion, etc)

• Capturing as many frames as possible to ensure that you can get that one frame that tells the story.”

Finally, when I asked him whether he wants to continue his career as a photographer he says, “I am a photographer by passion not by profession. Hunter, after all, aren’t cooks. I click whenever I feel like and whenever it is connected to me. So, whatever my career would be photography will always be a part of my life.”

Photography has a different perception to see the world. “Being a photographer is easy, but capturing the soul is very hard” says Kaushik. KAUSHIK BUDDHIRAJU is one talented photographer of GEETHANJALI COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY. His most notable work is Abstract photography. This passion towards photography has brought him a long way. “I started photography when I was in 10th grade. My uncle who is an Armeture photographer has inspired me with his talent” says Kaushik. Photography requires consistency and focus. Kaushik is also a portrait photographer, which is really amazing, since the emotions are beautifully captured in his photos. He is a photographer who captures souls of his models. With his amazing skills, he is able to portray the emotions of the models in a soul touching way. “ Two cameras which I usually use are Canon 600D with 17-70mm prime lens and Canon 1300D with 18-55mm prime lens as they cover the smallest detail possible” he says.
