Our entry into an engineering college may not teach us how to get a job but it will surely teach us about life. Life here is quite different from what they show in movies. But yes, years spent in college will surely alter your personality. You will not be the same guy who set foot on the first day of college. Here are some memes that will surely ring a bell.

So lets talk it all honest. If you ask me, or if you ask any other girl, What is the most fascinating topic all the time? Love and Boys.

Yes, this is it. We either bitch about you, or write songs for you. Either ways you guys are always on our minds 24/7.

Or we just complain sitting here all day saying “All guys are just the same”. Back in our heads, we know that’s just not true. On a serious note, no matter how independent we are, or how bold we are, nothing matches to the compassion you guys give us.

Not all of us admit, But truly Life would be silly, pointless and boring without you guys around. Life starts with fathers, then Male best friends, Boy friends, crushes , One big true love and Oh what not. You guys get a big chunk of our lives.

This article is dedicated to you! A tribute to all nice guys, that go unnoticed, for all the nice guys who are overlooked, underestimated, and unappreciated, for all the nice guys who are manipulated, misled, and unjustly abandoned, this is for you.

Guys are those beautiful people who tenderly take care of you, when you are on your mood swings. Who never complain when you go off on little things. We girls are twisted puzzles and they deal with us with lot of patience. Because thats how much we mean to them. Yeah, they do complain we are over-dramatic at times.

But, aren’t they the ones who take all our moods? Expecting just some attention and care in return. Its always them who come to compromise after you fight, The ones that stay up all night pleading you after the fight even if they aren’t wrong.

Because you mean to them more than their ego. Who carry your shopping bags, Who hold open doors. Those who gift you just to see you smile. Who insist on paying your shopping bills. I can never imagine girls doing that ( I mean our expressions are different, We can’t be as patient as them). Not all Guys are the same.

We still see some amazing men around us. Can you imagine your life without your male best friend, that’s always got your back? That’s going to pick your calls even when it is 3’AM. Just to hear you let your frustration out.
Here’s to All those men who are very beautiful on the inside.

To all the guys who have been deprived of what they truly deserved and never complained. Who put all emotions to themselves.

I understand feeling as small and as insignificant as humanly possible. And how it can actually possibly ache you in places you didn’t know you had inside you. No matter how many new haircuts you get, Or gyms you join, Or how much you pretend you are happy without her, even if she left you for no reason.

You just lay down in your bed thinking what you would have possibly done wrong, but never complain. Hats off to you! we never give you people much credit, it's always about us women, Our issues, our bravery.

But this world would be such a worthless place without you all in it. So let me remind you guys how worthy you are. Thanks for being this amazing, thanks for all those therapy sessions when we are mad. Thanks for saving our secrets safer than a locker, thanks for ordering our favorite food even before we ask you guys to. All these little things boost us up. Means a lot.

By inexpensively turning salt water into drinking water using sustainable solar power, a team from MIT in the US has not only come up with a portable desalination system for use anywhere in the world that needs it, but it’s just won the 2015 Desal Prize - a competition run by USAID to encourage better solutions to water shortages in developing countries.

In order to win the $140,000 prize, entries had to demonstrate how their invention not only works well, but is cost-effective, environmentally sustainable, and energy efficient.

And the MIT researchers teamed up with US-based manufacturing company, Jain Irrigation Systems, to do just that. The team’s invention works by using solar panels to charge a cache of batteries that power an electrodialysis machine that removes salt from the water and makes it perfectly drinkable. David L. Chandler explains for MIT News:

"Electrodialysis works by passing a stream of water between two electrodes with opposite charges. Because the salt dissolved in water consists of positive and negative ions, the electrodes pull the ions out of the water, Winter says, leaving fresher water at the centre of the flow.

A series of membranes separate the freshwater stream from increasingly salty ones."

Solar-powered desalination plants are nothing new, and officials are investigating potential in water-poor areas such as Chile and California right now, but the technology has so far been extremely expensive to both piece together and run. And this obviously makes it difficult for developing countries to adopt. The key to the MIT plant is the electrodialysis process, says Chandler, talking to one of the team, mechanical engineer Amos Winter:

"Both electrodialysis and reverse osmosis require the use of membranes, but those in an electrodialysis system are exposed to lower pressures and can be cleared of salt buildup simply by reversing the electrical polarity.

That means the expensive membranes should last much longer and require less maintenance, Winter says."

Chandler reports that the MIT system can turn 90 percent of the salt water that's fed into it into drinking water, which is huge, compared to the 40 to 60 percent from reverse-osmosis systems.

The team has been testing their system out in several villages across India since 2014, and have been using the Brackish Groundwater National Desalination Research Facility in the US to run 24-hour tests to analyse its efficiency and cost of maintenance. According to Mary Beth Griggs at Popular Science, in just 24 hours, their system can remove the salt from 2,100 gallons (7,950 litres).

They’re now hoping to expand their field tests to rural communities in developing countries, in the hopes that they can set them up as irrigation systems in small farms.

"A solution with the potential to double recoverable water in an environment where water is becoming more precious by the day could have a huge impact," environmental and civil engineer Susan Amrose from the University of California at Berkeley, who was not involved in the research, told MIT News. If we talk of any engineering college, we have a lot of gossip turned on about their fests, workshops, ambience and the infrastructure. Also, we often underestimate the autonomous colleges, but the colleges are far better, in fact, the best than the rumours reveal about them.

We have formulated a 5- pointer list of autonomous colleges, that have secretly been hitting it off all this while when we were busy focusing on only the universities.

1. CVR College Of Engineering: The College is spread over a built-up area of over 36,000 sqm. on a sprawling 33-acre campus amidst verdant surroundings with a great ambience and infrastructure. It is located in Vastunagar, Mangalpalli, Ibrahimpatnam, Telangana 501510. Good for Technology and sciences. Famous for its canteen and its placements.

"I am responsible for my suicide. I cannot fulfill papa's dream." This is from suicide letter of a student from Kota.
A common cause for concern is the pressure from parents to do well in the national board examinations, especially for Class XII. As scores in these exams often determine college admissions and subsequent employment opportunities, students aged 16-18 are often subjected to undue pressure at home to succeed. When they don't, suicide becomes a way out. The constant pressures of scoring well, meeting deadlines, increasing workload, ideas of excellence, competition, alienation, lack of space to share or even understand the stresses and despair generated from such pressures are making students walking bundles of nervous wreck ready to break down at any moment.

The motive when students kill themselves is invariably academic pressure - this accounts for 99 per cent suicides in the age group 12-18. National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) counts the number of suicides due to “Failure in Examination” every year. This cause of suicide and the number of deaths resulting from it are significant enough for NCRB to not relegate it to “Other Causes”.

Suicide is the second leading cause of death among teens.

According to Health Ministry, out of every three cases of suicide reported every 15 minutes in India, one is committed by a youth in the age group of 15 to 29. Every 90 minutes a teenager tries to commit suicide in India. Between 2012 and 2014, a total of 22,319 suicides by students were recorded by NCRB.

Higher education institutions today have become hubs of depression and suicides are only a very small and extreme manifestation of it. It isn't the suicides and suicide attempts, but this revelation from a recent survey that surprises everyone, according to it every third person in the age group of 15-19 is looking for help as they are struggling with ‘mental health’ difficulties.

People demanded that government set up a counselling centre in Kota. Succumbing to pressure from people, coaching institutes in Kota came together to start a counselling helpline. But as further reports showed, this helpline too is overburdened, with only two doctors, for over a lakh students studying in the city. And the suicides still continue.

To help not just the students of Kota, but to help all students in distress. Few Samaritans have started a Free Online Counselling Portal.
"A Hopeful Tomorrow (ahopefultomorrow.com)" helps students interact with counselors for free. (And the best thing is that the counselling services can be availed "Anonymously".) Their counselors will help students address their issues in the right way. "A Hopeful Tomorrow" being an online portal, might not help people who are on the verge of suicide. However, their aim is to ensure no student is turning suicidal. They are trying to provide an emotional support system, using which people can cope up with depression and not turn suicidal.
Please share this message until it reaches every student. Together, let's resolve to end student suicides. Lets spread the message.

Depression is 21st century epidemic. Lets kill it, before it kills us. Even the most severe depression is treatable. So, if your depression is keeping you from living the life you want to, don't hesitate to seek help.
