Now that COVID-19 is spreading like wildfire, to stymie the spread of coronavirus pandemic officials have instructed people to practice social distancing- staying home, avoiding crowds and refraining to touch one another. Although living like that can be lonely, inconvenient and even daunting, it's all for the greater good.

txt

While it's disappointing to hear that so many sports events, cruises, festivals, meetings, schools, colleges and other gatherings have been called off, there is a public health interest for these measures. Cancelling events that are likely to draw crowds is an example of Social Distancing. These cancellations help stop or slow down the spread of disease. It is substantial for the people to know how grave the situation is and strictly abide by the government orders by practicing Quarantine and Isolation. While this has its own damage and gain as well. We cannot deny the fact that the economy and productivity of the homeland will have a callous downfall. Also, we cannot overlook the pathetic condition of the daily wage workers who merely earn their bread on a day's work and will be affected greatly.

txt

Admist all the turmoil and commotion happening, on a brighter note, it has majorly contributed to the well-being of Mother Earth. The natural habitat is getting back to it's core, from where it all began. Earth is healing and in either ways it is for serving the mankind. Now is the time for us to act responsible and actively follow all the preventive steps, do's & don'ts to doff this mayhem of obstacle out of the world, knowing how disastrous it can be otherwise. We as a country need to fight through this catastrophe together. There's someone out there working long haul away from their family and beloved ones for your safeness and bliss. Know that! So, Do your bit, Stay Home, Stay Safe and act responsible.

txt

While many watched the coronavirus spread across the globe with disinterest for months, in the last week, most of us have finally realized it will disrupt our way of life. Further, it estimated that infections would peak in mid-June. We could expect to see about 55,000 deaths, in just one day. Of course we are doing everything possible like social distancing but that is not enough as reports suggest that the infection could still spread. But these efforts won’t help those who are already infected. It will take up to two weeks for those infected today to show any symptoms, and some people won’t show symptoms at all. Social distancing cannot prevent these infections, as they’ve already happened. Therefore, things will appear to get worse for some time, even if what we’re doing is making things better in the long run. The outbreak will continue to progress. Symptoms vary from person-to-person with COVID-19. It may produce few or no symptoms. However, it can also lead to severe illness and may be fatal. Common symptoms include:

fever

breathlessness

cough

It may take 2–14 days for a person to notice symptoms after infection.
No vaccine is currently available for COVID-19. However, scientists have now replicated the virus. This could allow for early detection and treatment in people who have the virus but are not yet showing symptoms.
Here are some simple steps through which we can prevent the coronavirus i.e. COVID-19:•Wash your hands on a regular basis. • practice social distancing. • Avoid shaking hands with others. • Stay away from any person having Fever or cold.

txt
Good and Bad situations are part of everyone's life. But we tend to notice bad one more, because of their negative impact on our progress. But how we react to these situations will say how much and how long we suffer.

However, we always have an opportunity which arises from bad situation. If we are willing to learn from our bad situation with a positive attitude, we can turn a bad situation into a good one. Let me illustrate by relating a true story of Mine.

When I was in 7th standard, we used to have regular tests. In those days, these tests were considered as important. Generally I do not take things seriously especially this kind of study and school related things. I attempt all the tests and scored 'C' grade. Our mam said "I won't be allowed for further classes if I won't being my parents the next day". I was scared of her way of talking, I informed my parents about it and they were tensed too..

The next day me and my father went to the school. Our mam asked both of us to sit, we sat and she started talking with my father about me. I was so scared of what was going to happen. I just put my head downwards and listened of what they were saying about me.

She said that she is taking extra classes for the students who all got C and D grades and asked my father- is he willing to send her daughter to the extra classes?. My father agreed to send me for the extra classes.

From the next day I started attending the extra classes because of no choice. There I find a new friend. We both studied together and scored good in the next following tests. After a month our mam said- there is no necessary for us to attend the extra classes, if you are interested then you can come. Thus, I made a negative situation into a positive one. I got a new friend and now I'm scoring good in all the subjects.

Think about all the bad situations you have faced in your life and how did you react to those situations?

There are few essential keys which help in transforming bad situation into a good one. Some of the most important are:

1. Never lose control

2. Learn from bad situations

3. Positive attitude

4. Stay cool and let things happen

No matters how a bad situation is, we always have an opportunity to turn it into a positive one. The world is full of inspiring examples of people who turned negative situation into a positive one. So, never give up and focus on what you want.

"}]
"You should give birth to a girl child" she said, as if to almost curse me. When asked my 'once an inspiration' the reason for so, a bullet hard reply shot out of her mouth " 'cause that will cut your wings and bring you down".
Many conversations with her prior to this made my heart sad in some way, but this one, this one disgusted me.

txt

She was always the one I looked up to a few years ago, always the one wanting us to take part in NGO's around us to know the problem the world is facing right now before trying to actually give a solution for anything. But maybe I, somewhere while fighting injustice, finally understood that, 'One doesn't have to always be in the light or be a leader to guide the crowd'. Maybe I've understood that the girl she helped in the cafe, was more for applause from others rather than that lost dream the girl held tight in her broken heart. Maybe you miss, are happy in being presented by a 'greater' award since you empower people around you, but somewhere down the line you can never be the 'greatest' since you empower selectively.

txt

To the one that was so busy in proving that she's no less than a man: maybe you've became so mad in the chaos of doing so, that you forgot the role and importance of a woman in upbringing the society, that you still see a girl child as a burden maybe because of the surrounding you grew up in, maybe you tell this because you were never enough for your dad or were too much for your mom, or maybe because no matter how much one tries they can never be enough!

txt

I don't know the gender of the person growing inside of me, but I pray to God that He sends unto me what He had already decreed for me (which I have faith in Him, will always be the best for me) and I pray that God gives me so much sabr(patience) that I upbring her/him in such a proper way that the eyes of the cursers burn when they see my little shine in sha Allah.

txt

Maybe at some point you /*the reader*/ too have faced such a situation or maybe a similar one. But I beg you to never be devastated by words of people, not all that you see is all what that is. People show things the way they want you to see things. Learn that there is always 'the greatest' power in the universe, and the first and foremost key to success that many people believe is to connect to that power, in whatever way your belief teaches you to. And strive for benefitting yourself and others around you. And last but never the least "If you can't do good for someone, don't even do bad to them" because there are already plenty people who have no work but just that.

txt

Till next time. Stay blessed and stay safe. It's me Sadia signing off. Peace.

txt
The 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic is an ongoing pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). First identified in Wuhan, Hubei, China, in December 2019, the outbreak was recognised as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on 11 March 2020.As of 18 March 2020, more than 206,000 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in over 170 countries and territories, with major outbreaks in mainland China, Europe, Iran, and South Korea. More than 8,200 people have died and over 82,000 have recovered. On 13 March, the WHO announced that Europe has become the new epicentre of the pandemic.

txt
rich_1584610626969

Symptoms:1. Fever 2. Dry caught 1)Causes:a)Transmission:The primary mode of transmission is via respiratory droplets that people exhale, for example when coughing or sneezing.Droplets stay suspended in the air for only a short time but may stay viable and contagious on a metal, glass or plastic surface.b)Virology:Prevention:1)Strategies for preventing transmission of the disease include overall good personal hygiene, hand washing, avoiding touching the eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands, coughing/sneezing into a tissue and putting the tissue directly into a dustbin. Those who may already have the infection have been advised to wear a surgical mask in public. Social distancing measures are also recommended to prevent transmission. Many governments have restricted or advised against all non-essential travel to and from countries and areas affected by the outbreak. However, the virus has reached the stage of community spread in large parts of the world. This means that the virus is spreading within communities whose members have not travelled to areas with widespread transmission.[citation needed]Health care providers taking care of someone who may be infected are recommended to use standard precautions, contact precautions and airborne precautions with eye protection.Contact tracing is an important method for health authorities to determine the source of an infection and to prevent further transmission. Misconceptions are circulating about how to prevent infection, for example: rinsing the nose and gargling with mouthwash are not effective. As of 13 March 2020, there is no COVID-19 vaccine though a number of organizations are working to develop one.China has banned the trading and consumption of wild animals.2)Hand washing:Hand washing is recommended to prevent the spread of the disease. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that people wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the toilet or when hands are visibly dirty; before eating; and after blowing one's nose, coughing, or sneezing. It further recommended using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol by volume when soap and water are not readily available. The WHO also advises people to avoid touching the eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.3)Social distancing:Main article: Social distancingSocial distancing includes infection control actions intended to slow the spread of disease by minimizing close contact between individuals. Methods include quarantines; travel restrictions; and the closing of schools, workplaces, stadiums, theatres, or shopping centres. Individuals may also apply social distancing methods by staying at home, limiting travel, avoiding crowded areas, not shaking hands, and physically distancing themselves from others. Many governments are now mandating or recommending social distancing in regions affected by the outbreak.Older adults and those with serious chronic conditions face increased risk of serious illness and complications and have been advised by the US CDC to avoid crowds and stay home as much as possible in areas of community outbreak.4)Self-isolation:Self-isolation at home has been recommended for those diagnosed with COVID-19 and those who suspect they have been infected.

txt
rich_1584610626970

History:The first known case of the novel coronavirus was traced back to 1 December 2019 in Wuhan, Hubei, China. A later unconfirmed claim, citing Chinese government documents, suggests that the first victim was a 55-year-old man who fell ill on 17 November 2019.[under discussion] Within the next month, the number of coronavirus cases in Hubei gradually increased to a couple of hundred, before rapidly increasing in January 2020. On 31 December 2019, the virus had caused enough cases of unknown pneumonia to be reported to health authorities in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province, China, and an investigation into the illness began early in the following month. These were mostly linked to the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market, which also sold live animals, consequently the virus is thought to have a zoonotic origin.During the early stages, the number of cases doubled approximately every seven and a half days.[256] In early and mid-January 2020, the virus spread to other Chinese provinces, helped by the Chinese New Year migration, with Wuhan being a transport hub and major rail interchange in China; infected people quickly spread throughout the country. On 20 January, China reported nearly 140 new cases in a day, including two people in Beijing and one in Shenzhen.Later official data shows that 6,174 people had already developed symptoms by 20 January 2020.On 30 January, the WHO declared the outbreak to be a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. On 24 February, its director, Tedros Adhanom, warned that the virus could become a global pandemic due to increasing numbers of cases outside China. On 13 March, the WHO declared Europe to be the new centre of the pandemic, after the rate of new cases in Europe surpassed those recorded in other regions of the world apart from China. By 16 March 2020, the total number of cases reported around the world outside China had exceeded that of Mainland China. As of 18 March 2020, over 206,000 cases have been reported worldwide; more than 8,200 people have died; and over 82,000 have recovered. There is thought to be a substantial underreporting of cases, particularly of cases with milder symptoms or no symptoms.
"}]
