Restrictions!!! always come as a barrier all along; we always go against it in many cases...Because our comfort zone is what matters to us! Let's hold on and recall to our school days... Well, the most restricted part of my school days was that discipline and that uniform. That belt, tie, socks, shoes... all were identical and we were like forcefully following that rule. But, I would say that uniform taught us the discipline and oneness all among the students.

Later on... there started the colorful life. Yeah... the college life! Here there is no uniform to follow on. But again... to the point of restrictions!!! Though for the namesake... an engineering college does not impose uniform... there exists the rule of formal dressing!

txt
rich_1568539301275

Formal Dressing style... How many of you feel comfortable in that formal suits!! We girls... dislike and donot prefer them only because of the discomfort that we face on due to that long dupatta and chudi pant. Well, this is the one that unwillingly needs to be followed by us during the lab exams!!! It's funny to say that - In labs, extra marks are being allotted to those who come in formals and those who don't follow dress code are not at all allowed into the lab!! Is the talent being judged here or their way of dressing?? This is the case in the institutions! Well... at one point I feel... that school uniform is best than all these shits.

txt
rich_1568539301276

Even out of our college premises, we don't have the liberty to follow our own attire of dressing! Yes, and I feel this is the major thing that to be focussed. Here arise the restrictions from society. The boys wearing shorts... having informal appearance are judged on their character and most probably treated as chichore (the common word that we listen) and we being girls in the sense of our dressing we face humiliation indeed! So this dress code restrictions will only be changed if the mindset of people in society changes.

I would conclude that dress codes should not become the intimidate. Though we cannot expect the immediate change in society regarding but, let's not give a chance to point out at us. Let's attire ourselves in our own way of decency in which we are comfortable!!!
"}]
As September month is known as library card sign up month... So let me express my views to all. “Libraries are community treasure chests, loaded with a wealth of information available to everyone equally, and the key to that treasure chest is the library card. I have found the most valuable thing in my wallet is my library card.
As many of us were growing up there was an incredibly important part of our school going kit, and that was the Library Card. With our library cards, we were able to pursue the answers to questions that may elude our time in school, we could learn how to construct things that interested us, or just find a new favorite story to fall into. Library Card SignUp Month was established to encourage every generation to dive into the wonders of the library by signing up for their own library car. Celebrating Library Card SignUp Month is simple! Just go out and get yourself a library card. If you have children who have yet to experience the wonders of the library then this is the perfect opportunity to get them out and get them their first library card! There’s nothing like a library to help inspire the mind and prepare us for the world ahead!

txt
If it requires a uniform, it's a worthless endeavor.

My childhood was adhered to the decorum imposed by the educational institutions. It's fine to have a uniform till class 10th or 12th. But once we enter our college life we would turn 18. At the age of 18, women get eligibility to vote and to marry legally, so of course, they even come to know what to wear and whatnot.

Then why to restrict them in wearing what they like.

Yes, I do agree that in schools uniform plays a vital role in protecting the young minds from feeling the inferiority complex because of their economical background and helps in maintaining the sanctity of the school. But once we are mature enough to understand and accept the situations, there is no need for laying down the dress code on us. And, we have heard news of some educational institutions restricting girls from wearing jeans. Is it not a violation of our fundamental rights!!

Our dress is a part of our self-image. We learn self-expressing ourselves if no restrictions are put on us and if we are denied from wearing what we want, it is just the way of killing our creativity and dress sense as dress code doesn't prepare you for the real world. You can make the students follow the dress code inside the campus but once they graduate and go outside, the outside world does not follow any restriction so as to help others from not feeling low, fashionably or economically.

Not everyone likes to wear the same with the same boring look every day and not everyone is happy with wearing only Kurtis and suppressing themselves from the desire of wearing jeans to look fashionable. Let them enjoy and open up to the various colors that are present in our world!! And the length of her dress cannot decide her character. So, stop squeezing them from their space and allow them to make their choice and let them learn and understand what's acceptable and what's not in the outer world.
"}]
In a village there is boy called Vamshi. He is from a poor, middle class family. And there is a girl from city, she used to be kind and would respect everyone and she stole all hearts with her smile. One day she moved to village to meet their relatives, her cousin introduced vamshi to her. Slowly they used to talk and meet ,finaly they fell in love. Years passed in their relation and were been happily. All of a sudden the boy wanted to close their relation ,slowly started ignoring her. She thought that he may be busy with his work. Vamshi started fighting with her for silly reasons , and this kind girl thought that because of work pressure he is behaving like that. Vamshi blocked her in all social media's too. The girl is in the stage of dailoma where she doesn't know that the boy is loving her or not. At last the girl loved with her pure soul and waiting for him to come back and be normal and show the love and care asusal. And I wanna conclude that never beg anyone to be in your life , just succeed in your life they only start begging to be in your life. And I always believe the quote called " failure is the stepping stone of success "

txt

Have you ever been imposed by something that redefines your daily social being? Was it just a mild regulation or were you threatened for something this silly? I am trying to stress on the dress-code impositions by schools and colleges that have reached saturation now. Out of all the places in the world, institutions that teach us to be citizens of tomorrow are actually developing backward carrying narrow-minded thoughts with them.

txt
rich_1568829117619

The concept of dress-code should be specific but not threatening. I see extremists at institutions who will push students to a point were girls start feeling that eve-teasing is an outcome of the way they dress. The society can judge your dressing style to a point where they dare to blame it for rape. While the grown-ups post on social media against this, the little girls who were supposed to enjoy their school days are insecure. These girls are impacted by the words that work harshly.

txt
rich_1568829117620

This issue of dress-codes doesn’t end just there. Both boys and girls are judged for the way they dress, it has become a compulsion at offices, temples, and mosques too. Now, this isn’t every other person, but we should acknowledge that this involves a major part of our society. Words like “it’s too revealing”, “you look so fat in that dress”, “she will reject you the moment she looks at you”, “the lane is filled with guys, wear a dupatta” must have hit you at least once. These words can make someone feel guilty or depressed which completely changes their perspective towards certain things.

txt
rich_1568829117621

The point is, neither students nor employees want to rebel. If they are that is when they should be ‘guided’ towards it. The recent issue that emerged in certain colleges, especially a few specific ones, really astonished me in all the wrong ways. Even I study in a college where wearing formal on certain days is a compulsion. I don’t like wearing formals to college but I am not threatened for it. It is high time that people learn to judge properly, which is to not judge. There wouldn’t be a need for dress-codes if we people could respect each other. Hope those days are not too far.
"}]
Its awful to dictate someone what they can and can’t wear.

Dress Code in work space or colleges is one of the most discussed topics as we try to dictate our terms in our democratic nation. There is an unresolved debate over the articulation of dress code. In this fashionable world, all of us wants to look smart and stylish, this is certainly an unsettled problem.

txt
rich_1568833652328

Gender-based moral policing especially in educational institutions is always under the fire. It is often considered as a part of the rule code of the institution. But when such a practice affects people at large in reaching negative consequences, it’s high time it should be addressed. No young girl deserves to be told that her clothes define her character. A boy sporting with a pony tail or having a tattoo is looked differently by many. Its because our teachers belong to a different generation who find it difficult to adapt to the new trends. Judging someone by their dressing sense and suspecting their moral character should come to an end!

All of us have the right to express ourselves and dress the way that suits us best. The formality of a dress code can feel restrictive and dampen the creative spirit. This ultimately affects the performance. Having the freedom to express through clothing choices, makes work environment more comfortable.

Many people these days believe a dress code is the answer to most problems but they're wrong. We are all here in the middle with talents, traits, flaws, and good qualities that are unique to us. It’s just the right mix to keep everyone in balance. Dress code shouldn't be a matter of discussion for any organization as it does not define one's individuality!

"}]
A dress code shouldn’t be a decision that one makes for all, it should be an individual choice: that’s when it becomes relevant, knowing when a dress code is required matters.

A dress code is worn on for a performance, a business meeting, it stands for professionalism or an occasion and the meaning fades away if it becomes a day to day attire!

We may not realize this but a uniform or a dress code can destroy our creativity when it comes to fashion. We spend most hours at education centers/work and if you are restricted to dress up the way you want there, then where else?

Where would our fashion industry be if all 7 billion of us dressed up the same?

Being modest, being comfortable and mindful should be the only dress code for an everyday attire.

Big companies today don’t spend their time and energy on dress codes but they focus on output similarly we should erase the concept that a particular dressing style will affect our output !!

"}]
Until we all were in our schooling, we all have obeyed the rule of uniformity in clothing. This rule of dictating people in what kind of clothes they must wear must only be limited to schooling is what I personally feel because, when students reach a particular age they attain the sense of what to wear and what not to wear. There is no need of imposing rules down their throats as to what looks 'appropriate enough' or 'decent enough.'

On the contrary, there's a fair point in this debate that having a dress code would ensure equity among the students and would help them respect each other regardless of their economic/social backgrounds. But then, how does the length of a Kurti or the shade of a faded/normal jeans help people in respecting each other or in ensuring equity? I've talked about the infamous Only-Kurti rule and the No-Jeans/No-Faded-Jeans rule because we're all experiencing it in our college right now. The boys of our college are only supposed to wear formals and the girls, only Kurtis.

I want to give anecdotes of my personal experiences at college: I did wear a normal Kurti on my first day in the college but my bad, it was sleeveless. One of our lecturers came to me and whispered slyly saying that this could distract men and thus upset our college management so, I must wear a Duppatta from the next day even if my Kurti wouldn't be sleeveless. Another day, I wore a Kurti so long that I could almost trip and fall. But to my surprise, another faculty calls me close and asks me to stop wearing 'transparent' dresses. (I wore an opaque, cotton Kurti, though.) There are a thousand other instances which me and my friends irrespective of their gender have experienced with the clothing-police and now we remain unaffected even if someone points out our dressing style. (I still don't wear a Duppatta unless I want to.)

The claim that our focus (students' focus) gets distorted due to someone's clothing at college seems a bit vague now because clearly, more than the students, the lecturers and the college management lose their focus.

Comfort comes first while we study/work and if personally preferred clothing is not the first aspect of comfort, I can't think of something else that could be it. Many MNCs have started to strike down the rules of dress code to help their employees feel at ease while they work. Formals are a necessity for meetings but that wouldn't be a problem because a fully grown and well functioning adult would know what is appropriate and what is not in a board room. In the same way, a college going student can also comprehend what to wear when.

The funniest part about imposing dress codes at college and scrutinizing students on the basis of it is that we believe our youth can elect the representatives of our country but we fail to believe that they can pretty much choose what they wear to their colleges. It is downright stupid to conform college-going students to a code of dressing as they would ultimately fail to decide and develop what is their comfortable style of clothing or what should be considered formal for occasions that demand. Students need to be allowed to wear what they want; to be able to nurture their dressing style and to be catering to their 'need of the hour.'

The earliest memory of me singing was when i was six years old. I was singing “vande maataram” at school for Independence Day and everyone loved it (especially the Principal). I remember seeing my mom and dad cheering through the crowd, I remember them smiling really wide at me after I finished singing and I also remember them giving me chocolates (which by the way was an incentive). Maa is my very first teacher. She used to teach me kannada songs and make me sing them out loud around family. The first time I sang in an open mic is something i’ll never forget. I had never felt something like that and that’s when I decided I wanted to sing in front of large crowds. That’s when I knew this could be something more. My family and my friends (especially the ones from college) have been really supportive about this and they encourage me to learn more about music. Singing is the only way I can be myself truly and I realized nobody could take this away from me. I hope one day western music is appreciated the way Indian classical is in Hyderabad.
