Inspiration can come to us from within and sometimes from the outside. Some of us watch movies, listen to music or read books for some inspiration. But our generation prefers everything short, right?
So, instead of spending hours reading that book ( exception : bibliophiles), we would prefer to watch movies instead. Here is a list of a few inspiring movies that we as students can watch for some serious inspiration.
Udaan – my personal favorite, Udaan is all all about the anguish of the protagonist and how he comes to terms with life. A tear jerker, this movie is sure to inspire because of the plot that seems so relatable and our own.
Black- How a deaf and blind girl explores her potential and goes on to become a college graduate with the support of her teacher forms the crux of the story. This movie came in as a breath of fresh air, breaking the monotony of Bollywood plots.
A Beautiful Mind: An asocial mathematical genius suffers from paranoia and a streak of schizophrenia. How he overcomes his struggles and goes on to win the Nobel prize forms the crux of the story. This movie, based on a true story, is exceptionally inspiring to say the least.
The Pursuit of Happiness – This movie is also based on a true story of how a single dad, left penniless after a failed investment, raises himself out of poverty to become successful again.
Soul Surfer- The true story of Bethany Hamilton, a surfer who lost her arm in a shark attack overcomes all odds against her to surf again. A truly inspiring movie that proves that faith and proper support from the people who mean the world to you is what will keep us going, despite all odds.
The Great Debaters: An adaptation of the life story of an ordinary teacher, Melvin Tolson, whose staunch belief in his students and constant encouragement to confront Harvard students at a debate competition instills a sense of confidence in us that if mentored by the right person, even ordinary students can turn out to be extraordinary.
It is showtime, folks!!
