The eternal rat race that was inevitable with the increasing population of the country has to come to a head sooner or later, but the effects are already being felt, with people emphasising more on competition to fight for limited resources and preferring to leave their peers in the dirt while they benefit. In times like these, Swami Vivekananda is a beacon in the darkness, an inspiration like none other.

"You have in you all and a thousand times more than is in all the books, you can do anything in the universe. Never weaken, all powers is yours," he said once.

Swami Vivekananda has many such gems of inspirations for the youth today, in fact, for the youth from the time he was alive to this day.

Sayings like 'Character has to be established through a thousand stumbles,' 'The greatest sin is to think yourself weak' and 'We need the heart to feel, a brain to conceive and a strong arm to do the work' have resonated with the youth for generations and continue to do so even today. His sayings even inspired Subhash Chandra Bose, who then decided that siding with the Nazis just to spite the Germans was a good idea. Pro-tip to the readers: Siding with the Nazis is never a good idea.

Bose said of the Swami, "Reckless in his sacrifice, unceasing in his activity, boundless in his love, merciless in his attacks and yet simple as a child. He was a rare personality in this world of ours."

It is always a good idea to remember Vivekananda's teachings in our darkest times so we may find inspiration and move forward, push forward till we achieve what was meant for us to achieve.

Arise! Awake! Fight until you achieve success.

"}]
As quoted by Harvey Mackey, "Time is free, but it’s priceless. You can’t own it, but you can use it. You can’t keep it, but you can spend it. Once you’ve lost it you can never get it back."
Though "time" is just a simple word, it has a vast meaning in itself. It is the most valuable asset of one’s life, as it has a wonderful way of showing us what really matters.
One of the great examples for it is our own honorable Prime Minister: Mr. Narendra Modi, who belongs from a poor family. There was a time when he use to work at a tea stall. And today, he is the Prime Minister of India. It is all because of his hard work, and commitment and mainly, his utilization of time.
Time is an essential part of everyone’s routine. It is directly related to basic etiquettes such as punctuality and time management. Time plays a greatest role in making memories in everyone’s life and these memories last until forever. It teaches life lessons, limits you to deadlines. Time, is simply asking someone what time of the day or night it is. There are times of happiness and sorrows; it heals wounds and sorrows. Hence, time is associated with every sphere of life.
It is also said that life and time are two best teachers. "Life teaches us to make good use of time, and time teaches us the value of life." This simple quote defines the value of time very beautifully. It is a precious gift for your loved ones. The greatest gift that you can give someone is your time, because when you give your time you are giving a portion of your life that you will never get back.
We all make time for what we feel is important. People set goals in accordance with time. A lot of people take resolutions, as New Years' is on our way. It is the time of happiness and also welcoming the new times of the coming year. Years passes by with the memories of happiness, sorrows, joy, hard work, mistakes, guilt and fights. When the bad time comes, people wish for a time machine to get back and set everything right. But in reality, is there is no such machine and will never be. It is the characteristic of time; ones gone will never come back. Hence, one must live a transparent and a happy life and enjoy the time, because "Time is not measured by clocks but by moments."

The concept of New Year Resolution started off early in the western hemisphere but slowly found its way to the eastern hemisphere too as the world got more connected. Because resolutions are a culturally and socially acceptable form of procrastination.

Okay sure, I'll admit, everyone procrastinates, I'm quite notorious at procrastinating, in fact, so why am I talking about - lecturing even, you might say, about procrastination? Because who better to talk about how New Year's Resolutions are procrastination repackaged and repurposed to suit people's needs than someone who is quite notorious at it.

January is actually quite a good month for anyone who has made a strict resolution. Even if things go well, you soon find that people who were serious about changing their lives, quitting smoking, losing weight, working out are all slowly dropping out of their new found hobbies and going back to the old ones. You tell yourself that one day won't hurt, that one day becomes two days, a week, a fortnight, eventually a month. You feel guilty, you rationalise the guilt saying that your friends are not going anyway or not following their resolutions anyway, so you'll be alright. Then December comes again and you are back to square one.

The key to being successful with your resolutions is to believe, truly and utterly believe that you are going to change your life. This is, sadly, not the case with a vast majority of people Everyone has their own battles to fight, some people go overboard and add multiple resolutions to that battle. Resolutions should be something that you actually want to do instead of just making one because you feel guilty, only then can it be truly pursued.

This is why most resolutions fail, the procrastination and the insincerity of the maker automatically encourages a culture of being lazy with your goals to the point that you lose sight of what you wanted to do until you see someone who actually managed to drop all those kilos or managed to quit a vice, which is when you feel guilty and go through the whole cycle of guilt tripping and making a resolution you do not intend to keep.

So sit down, relax, and make sacrifices, slowly, at your own pace. It's going to be alright.

This is going to be my last article this year. I hope you had fun reading, I'll come back and finish Last Woman Standing in 2018 but until then, have a blast at the New Year's party wherever you're going and I wish you all the best for keeping your resolutions. Who knows, I might just copy paste this article next year this time again, just to be sure.
"}]
Jagriti Yatra reached Madhurai for a day long session at Aravind Eye Hospital with its administrator Dr. S. Aravind. For the uninitiated, Aravind Eye Care is currently the biggest of its kind, the most productive system of eye care in the world. There is obviously much to be learned from someone who has built an empire around Eye care, even more so from people who manage it and the guys who keep it running to this day.

The day was centered around meeting the management as well as a Q/A session before returning to the train and continuing the journey onwards, towards Vizag. Right before the day concluded, however, there was a panel discussion on starting an enterprise, speaking on successful journeys and lessons hard learned.

However, the highlight of the day was getting information on the food management for the entire duration of the Yatra. Amit Khaluke, the head of food management and awareness spoke to our representatives on the train, introducing us to Ramesh Parmaram, the owner of a catering service based out of Rajasthan who has been working with the Yatra for the last 10 or so years.

Leading a team of 95 workers, the good folk at food management work tirelessly to ensure food - tasty, sumptuous and delicious food - is served to the yatris throughout the 15 days of travel across India. It's a massive feat that requires precision and co-ordination as well as dedicated manpower, but that hasn't stopped these pioneers from making it work.

It does seem that in a train journey across India for the spirit of working together and building a better future, the best lessons can be learned from the people that are already on the train, making sure piping hot food is being served on the plates of hungry yatris with twinkles in their eyes, twinkles that would soon become ideas that would set fire to the rain and change the face of the country.

Travel on, you crazy geniuses. Stay turned for more!
"}]
When you're a teenager and you see fads online, pictures like 'New Year, New Me' and people declaring their undying love for each other, promising to clean up their act, quit bad habits et al, you want to do the same because you feel like you want to be included in this group, this bracket of cool people.

As you get older, you realise that all of it was just a fad, not only because the people who promised undying love for each other stopped speaking 2 weeks into the new year, but also because you didn't keep any of the promises and resolutions you made to yourself in the first place.

I'm not going to talk about why we fail our resolutions, that is not for this article to do, I'll write one soon on the topic, but the point of this article is to talk about what my resolutions are going to be for 2018, what I'm going to do in the coming year.

Or at least, I thought I was going to write about it all here before realising that all of my resolutions are quite personal, the kind which I do not want to air on this platform. Rather a quiet personal revolution than a loud one overblown on social media. So I wondered if there was anything common in all the resolutions I had chalked out for the coming year, and I think I've figured it out.

It's about becoming a better person.

Because at the end of the day, that is what New Year's Resolutions are about, a promise you make to yourself to become a better person next year than you were in this year. It's a larger form of a personal philosophy that I'd recently adapted, to become the better version of myself every single day I wake up and get off the bed.

So the question arises, how does one become better? If we go deeper, what does better mean? Better at your job? Better at your class? Better at the skill you've chosen?

I think being a better person than before means you become kinder than you were before, in addition to all the above stated reasons. You gain experience every single day you do something and that experience counts for something, it makes you better than you give yourself credit for. The key then is to realise that by doing what makes you better every day, you become a better person each year.

So this is what I'm going to do in 2018, I'm going to keep focusing on what I want to do and become a better person that before by dedicating myself to a cause, any cause, where people are unjustly oppressed and need a shoulder, not to carry them, but to ensure that their voices are louder than the rest.

To a better year, to a better person.
"}]
The Journey to Kanya Kumari was arduous, sure, but things got super interesting real quick when a meeting was scheduled to be held at Vivekananda Memorial off the coast of Kanya Kumari with the only means of reaching there being swimming in ocean waters.

Before going back to the train, the Yatris released 1000 sky lanterns into the sky, a fantastic gesture at the first stop of their destination, perhaps symbolising that their ideas too are as bright as fire and need the right conditions to soar.

The train then left Kanyakumari and set off to Madhurai, reaching it before long.

This is an era of huge technological advancements in space industry and the never ending curiosity of humans in this field is making it more interesting and challenging as well. NASA, ESA , Roscosmos etc are some of the notable names that we hear when it comes to this field . Most of the dominant space agecies being government organisations , even private space agencies started to make their own mark recently. The most competable private space agency with huge amounts of innovation and planning is Spacex. SpaceX which is founded and headed by one of the greatest entreprenuers of our time ELON MUSK , continues to attract investers due to it’s huge success rate and it’s accuracy in it’s space missions. Considering the fact that most of the contracts to SpaceX are from NASA it is clear how important they are growing. Since their start from 2002 , they are continusly engaging themselves to create new milestones in their respective domain. The main dream of SpaceX is to make space travel as cheap as possible and to colonise Mars.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk have revealed their plan of Interplanatery Transport System that aims at carrying humans to space and colonising Mars . Although their plan seems like a sci-fi movie for now , but we cannot deny the fact that it is possible. They are even making prominant steps to acheive it as well . SpaceX wants to acheive this dream by using their BFR( Big Falcon Rocket) . The main challenge they face with this kind of ship is it’s affordability factor along with it’s design . SpaceX would like to design this ship is such a way that they would like to combine all the features of Falcon9 , Falcon Heavy and Dragon capsule. They would like to launch their first cargo mission to Mars by the year 2022 and their first manned and cargo mission is said to be launched in the year 2024. They have made a very sophesticated plans about colonisation of mars and that seems to be acheivable as well.

Coming to acheivments and their recent activites , they launched Falcon1 on September 28 , 2008 which is the first privately funded rocket to reach the orbit and on December 9,2010 they became first privately funded company to successfully launch, orbit, and recover a spacecraft with their Falcon9 rocket. From there, although they had small setbacks they have been reaching newheights and setting new milestones. Falcon9 is their most successful rocket till date and had acheived many missions. In the 32nd flight of Falcon9 on March 30, 2017 SpaceX acheived yet another milestone of relaunching and landing of a used orbital rocket for the first time ever. They have also designed Dragon spacecraft which is one of it’s kind and is world’s first commercial private spacecraft which delivered cargo to ISS and next year they will be launching a manned Dragon capsule to ISS , which would be yet another milestone.

The main factor that is making SpaceX more successful and profitable is their reusability of rockets and spacecrafts. Which is allowing them to stage low cost missions and a destination for many other agencies in order to deliver their payloads.

In the case of SpaceX , I remember a line from the movie Interstellar : “Manking was born on Earth but never meant to die here” .

Hope SpaceX acheives all it’s goals and dreams and become a solid proof for that line and MAKE HUMANS A MULTIPLANETARY SPECIES...

1514278672807
txt"}]
