Indian Engineering Student Builds Ironman Suit

Many of us have watched Iron man on screen and dreamt of his extraordinary suit which makes the impossible possible!

Getting a suit like him is still a fantasy to many kids of this generation.

Guys here is a good news the dream has turned into reality.

Thanks to the struggles of one bright and ingenious engineering student from Kerala. Vimal Govind Manikandan, a final year Mechanical Engineering student at Calicut University, has built a fully working wearable Iron Man suit using exoskeleton technology.

And antithetical to comic book opinions, you don't need to be a mastermind, billionaire, philanthropist to own one. Manikandan's prototype necessitates nothing more than $750 (a little more than Rs 50,000) to manufacture and he plans for his technology to be used in the defence industry.

He was massively inspired by several Hollywood action flicks to build the Iron Man suit. Weighing roughly about 100 kgs, Manikandan's suit not only walks, and flexes muscles, but also can lift up to 150 kgs without breaking a sweat. AJ Plus's video about this brilliant bit of innovation is likely to give you a glimpse of what the future holds!

The team is currently working on improving the sensors to enable greater and more a precise range of motion.

The suit was derived with inspiration acquired mostly from the movie “Avatar”

Kudos team :)
