With India going digital, it is important to remember to keep yourself safe and protect your privacy as more and more aspects of our lives are connected to the internet. <\/p>So how exactly do you protect yourself from hackers out to get your data? \"Knowing is half the battle,\" says Surya Subhash, \"if you are aware of the risks online and remain vigilant, that's half the battle won. This third year CSE student from CVSR, along with co-founder, Kaushik Bharadwaj recently won the Best Student Product Award at the recently concluded HYSEA. <\/p>\"When I was a hacker, I noticed many vulnerabilities with many popular websites,\" he says, \"eventually I decided to bring cybersecurity to companies as a product, but it took a while to decide how to bring it out as a product.\"<\/p>"},{"type":"img","id":"img-uid-1491304622849","data":"58e380f5e3b21"},{"type":"txt","id":"rich_1491304631548","data":"\"So, with my co-founder, Kaushik, we incorporated the company in August. It was only two months ago that we started marketing.\"<\/p>We also spoke at length with Surya about the state of cybersecurity in India, \"People don't take cybersecurity here seriously because many people are simply not aware of how powerful the internet truly is. Cybersecurity is something that should be included in schools, so students are better prepared, but it's not\" he says. <\/p>There have been numerous reports on both Indian and foreign media about how Indians still refuse to learn how to protect themselves despite being hacked, a fact cybersecurity professionals in India bemoan, \"Education is the most important here, and awareness too, there needs to be an increase in awareness in rural areas, as urban areas are knowledgeable about protecting themselves online, although this isn't always the case.\" <\/p> <\/p>"},{"type":"img","id":"img-uid-1491304995478","data":"58e3826bab77e"},{"type":"txt","id":"rich_1491305004642","data":"\"Our primary product, Nimble, is something we like to call 3 Factor Authentication, or 3FA, which takes into consideration the password, behaviour of the user, and device, to better help keep our users secure\" he explains, <\/p>Surya was candid with his tips to keep oneself safe online, \"Frankly, your password should be your deepest darkest secret, something you should never give to anyone no matter what.
