"Four years of B.Tech, then MS in The US - employment comes calling." Such a familiar tune. The average Indian student is expected to go abroad and get a degree, some are even looked down upon if they don't. In today's world one might wonder if Donald Trump is relevant. More so, for an Indian - Engineering Student. The answer to both those questions is yes. Unless one is graduating from a 'reputed' Engineering college, the chances of getting hired by a top company (most of which are headquartered in the US) is bleak. For students in the lower rung of colleges, MS seems like an antidote which will fix the unemployment problem. Donald Trump, who is widely seen as xenophobic, because of his anti-immigrant rhetoric - might be a scary figure for an Indian student. The question is should you be afraid. The answer is No. A country is never run by a single leader, rules cannot be changed according their diktats alone. Even the Republican Party, which Trump belongs to has on several occasions distanced itself from his remarks. Is the Donald a madman? Of course not. He definitely has his concerns. Although it wouldn't hurt to give them a better voice.

It is my personal opinion that one should work for the development of one's own country. But when jobs are scarce, one has no alternative but to look for greener pastures. "“They are taking our jobs. China is taking our jobs. Japan is taking our jobs. India is taking our jobs. It is not going to happen anymore, folks!” Mr Trump says. The validity of that statement can be debated. Yet, what is important is that as Indians, we don't become enslaved to the idea of living the American dream. I am by no means suggesting that you should not fulfill your ambitions of making a living elsewhere. If going abroad is what you dream for, work hard to achieve it. Donald Trump cannot stop you.

Make India great again.

With best wishes, Nishan Sampreeth Chilkuri.
"}]

Remember those cheerful childhood days when you could be anything and everything you desired, be it an astronaut, NASA scientist or a civil engineer. All that you had to do is visualise yourself in the career shoes that grabbed your fancy. However, as a grown-up when you are withstanding the crucial point in life where you have to decide a career lane for yourself, there is a lot of stress to take the right decision as it could either make or break your life. Here are some few points which will help you to choose a proper career.

1. The first and the foremost thing that you have to do is write a list of all your core skills and strengths. Then it will be easier for you to target the perfect market.

2. While listing out your dream career job you need to make sure it fulfils your economic requirements., the career which you should at least remunerate you enough to pay your bills and lead a decent life. There is no point chasing a career dream which will only hand you blank cheques.

3. Analyse the current job market, follow around, do a little enquiry into different career summaries that combine your values, strengths and are productive at the same time .

4. Your job plan should note down the moves that you need to take to strike your final goal while supplying you enough room to experiment and switch jobs if wanted.

5. Understanding your core skills is not adequate; you should also act on polishing them in order to stand out in the comparable crowd. Take classes, acquire a degree, gain some on the job experience, these will help you get an edge.

6. Communicate to people who are rooted in their appropriate field of career. Uniting with people and building a solid network is not that complicated thanks to social media; make a LinkedIn account, join various Facebook job communities these will help you with the initial push

7. Once you land into your dream job, learn your work try and establish yourself as a team player.

Ethics or human values as we all were taught as kids, talked about basic principles like honesty, generosity, kindness and other virtues. We were and still are taught that one must imbibe such values to become a virtuous person and an embodiment of values.

But if you talk about ethics in today's culture where everything is wireless, faster, busier you will undoubtedly get written off for being lame and uncool because ethics today doesn't matter to many. And that's exactly a big problem for our nation.

We are the future. The Gen X that we are, pave way for a transformation in almost every aspect be it our culture, our traditions, our technology, our society. We are set to and have bought tremendous change. So why is ethics suddenly a matter of issue? Because one thing that remains constant is -emotions.

We could be clones and still prefer them to have feelings or we get fascinated if we hear of a robot with feelings. Why? Because every human experiences emotions and its what keeps us connected and reminds us that we are human beings. Human beings can withstand pain, hatred, discrimination to an extent but finally it will lead to a huge outburst of revenge. Yes it just takes to hurt someone for real long to drive their minds to destroy humanity at some scale.

Now where did it all go wrong? When you forgot to say thank you to that friend who always does favours for you, or when you look down upon you're help at home and treat them without respect. Or when you condemn and humiliate people who are differently abled in some form just to entertain yourself and others.

But do realise who is affected by your unethical actions. They might be the sorry victim of your misbehavior but the tables certainly turn when people forget to forgive. Lets remind ourselves that being kind and nice to people no matter what their status is, won't cost you anything in this commercial world.

Throwing light on many incidents that have occured recently like the Orlando shooting, US Prez elections where we have heard about candidates like Trump, and closer home the everyday drama we hear of our embarrassing politicians its time we changed our view on ethics.

As we head towards a modern era we have to change our mannerisms, attitudes and mindset because the world is more than just about money and fame. Words like equality, freedom, peace resound from every corner of our world. And our attitude decides if we can achieve all that or not. If we realise how important ethics is, our roads would be steady and clean, we would have queues where they need to be, our hospitals would be hygienic, our transport system would be effective and many more boons will follow. And for all this, you just need to be way more ethical than the average indian mindset that believes in the infamous " chaltha hai" attitude.

Do think about it 'cause we all are guilty of being unethical at some point and we can change that if we spend time on introspecting ourselves.

So Good luck and Cheers! Go be good and let the world be a better place to live :)

In accordance with a recent survey, every year 75 percent of the youth gets into Engineering, but how many of them join the so-called "B.tech" with their self-interest? Some of them just do it for a time pass, few of them genuinely pursue their Bachelors and few other have no other option since their parents and relatives want them to do Engineering. Whatever the reason might be it's ultimately the students who are going to face the difficulties!

So we present you few reasons why students get into Engineering

1. Parental Pressure: Every parent wants their children to have a safe and secure life, especially the 90's parents are under a wrong assumption that if their child completes B.Tech then he can be settled. It's perfectly alright not to know that yet. Keep doing whatever you are doing and don't get carried away by the fact that you still haven't found what you want to do. It is always better to take time, think and make a decision rather than following your friends blindly.
*Their life is different from yours *.
~You're alive, you have time to choose something you like. Take chances. Learn things (whatever you want and whatever you can).
~It is OK to fail .what is important is picking yourself up , learn from your mistakes and moving on.
~If you’ve not made up your mind about the future course, try improvising on your resume. Build up additional skills like learning a new language. Remember, no skill of yours is useless. you just need the right time and place to use it.
Tip: Stop trying to figure out what you want to do with your life. Do the one thing you like. Try to excel at it. And since you like doing it, you will at least get good enough at it. Continue doing it till you enjoy. And as always as is the case with me, When you get bored, switch to something else. life must go on and so should we . Enjoy the new thrills again.
~Life is uncertain. you wouldn't possibly know whether you be happy with your decision a year or so from now. You can't figure out the whole future. So, dabble in everything you can and let life choose its course .
Conclusion: Choosing a career is not easy. Yes, you would want to choose something you will be (at least somewhat) passionate about, BUT more importantly, you should be choosing a stream that caters to your individuality and needs.
Cover Image Source

txt
rich_1465989078357
The season of Ramadan has already knocked the doors, and Ramadan being the most auspicious month in the Islamic calendar, it is essential for the people who believe in Islam to fast this particular month.
It might be tough for few of them to have a homemade 'Iftar' especially for the ones in the IT industry, but not now.
