1. Understand what you're studying.

Rote learning will not get you to score a good percentage; it isn't helpful in most cases because it fails to cause you to think and analyze. The latter two skills are important for being able to apply your knowledge to new problems.

What about the work you're studying is confusing or seems at odds with other information you know?
~ Ask your teachers, lecturers, professors about your doubts.
~ Such discussions can help cement the concepts deeply in your mind.
3.
Use videos to enhance your learning and understanding.
Watch videos on YouTube based on the same topic that you're learning. Where do I even start with Mass Effect? Should I start with the fact that you get to build a team some of gaming's finest characters, enhanced by some of the best storylines and dialogue in gaming, who made you want to fight for them so they put their trust in you, so well written that you become invested in their virtual lives, where their sorrows are your sorrows, and their deaths deeply affected you.

Or should I start with the fact that you, as Commander Shepard, got to command a spaceship outfitted with cutting edge technology, so you, along with your team and your crew, can travel across the galaxy, to various planets, solving problems as you find them and try and save the entire galaxy from being destroyed. There are not many games that allow you to do that, especially if you're a Star Trek fan, and these reasons are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to this series.

With Mass Effect's story taking us to the galaxy next door with Mass Effect: Andromeda, let us revisit the iconic Sci-Fi franchise that took the gaming community by the storm, instantly earning itself life long fans, to the point that not even the horrendous ending of the trilogy, in Mass Effect 3, dissuaded them from the franchise.

While fan opinions differ, personally I prefer Mass Effect 2, the stories are much more personal, with each of your squad member having loyalty missions, which are a great way of ensuring you become invested in their lives apart from caring just for the Commander. Combine this with the fact that the final mission of Mass Effect 2 involved facing impossible stakes, with a very real possibility that all your squad members will die, it is perhaps one of the best final missions in a game. That, however, does not mean the other games are not up to the mark. Mass Effect 1 is a great game that leans the heaviest towards being a proper RPG, with later two games slowly leaning towards the shooter with RPG elements styles, however they didn't compromise the writing for the most part, except the end of Mass Effect 3.

One of the best things gaming has been consistently doing over the last few years is tell fantastic stories. There are plenty of games which use the medium as a means to tell fantastic stories, Mass Effect being one of the many. BioWare is known for writing fantastic story and even better characters, and it shows in the game. You quickly have favourite characters, in the first game, your crew has a charm of it's own, something which makes them come to life so that you start caring about them.

Traveling across the galaxy solving problems, defeating bad guys and saving the galaxy with people you actually care about is not an easy feat to design, but the Mass Effect games do it with perfection. It's safe to assume that Mass Effect: Andromeda has pretty big shoes to fill, shoes that might have shrunk a bit with how the trilogy ended, but nonetheless, there are plenty of fan expectations out of this one.

With Humanity moving out of The Milky Way galaxy and making their way to Andromeda, the nearest galaxy to our own, which happens to be 2.5 million light years away. Set 600 years after the events of the original trilogy, this deals with humanity's search to find a new home in a galaxy not their own, amid unfamiliar lifeforms and strange cities of strange planets and star systems. Will humanity ever make it? I suppose the answer to that question lies in the game itself, however, for now, let us just say that I am excited about the game.

This, what I've mentioned above, is something I can do while sitting in front of my PC, and I'm not saying that to state the obvious, I'm saying it because this is what the appeal of gaming is. To experience and live impossible dreams, to forge your path, and challenge yourself in ways you've never done before. I've always been told that I've grown up now and I should stop playing video games, but what kind of a boring life would that be where my imagination isn't allowed to soar through the many undiscovered stars of Andromeda, fighting desperately to find Humans a new home? Or to find someone whom I, and by that I mean the protagonist of the story, considers a daughter?

Next week, we'll talk about my current favourite video game of all time, until then, I wish you all the best in your quest to find humanity a new home.

Early man lived on the strength of his muscle power. In the struggle for existence, it was the survival of the fittest. Gradually, man become civilized and progressed in various fields. The destinies of nations were shaped by wars. Later on man realized that the use of weapons could not solve problems. Weapons could kill a man but could not bring about a change of heart.

Ideas have a much larger impact than violence. Force is incapable of changing the ideas and beliefs of the people. When people are influenced by new ideas, changes occur in the society. Ideas are propagated by writing. Brave deeds and valor shown in the battlefield are certainly praiseworthy. But no clash of arms could achieve what great men through their writing have archived.

The invention of the written word has helped man to store and propagate his thoughts, beliefs, and ideas.

The power of a pen is enormously larger than a sword. What a sharp edged sword can't achieve can be achieved by the help of a minute tip of a pen. What it implies is that the power of writing is much stronger than the power of hatred, war, and fighting. A war always ends in killings and has only a single directional ending - defeat, death, loss. There is no end of the tunnel when a war is there, and even if it comes, there is no light.

Writing is priceless. Can we pay back for the stories told in our childhood - by parents, grandparents, teachers and elder siblings? Can we pay back for the stories read during our childhood from storybooks, comics etc. bought for a meager cost but the impression of those stories, learning gained from those stories and the legacy that is carried from generation after generation. Gives us a return that the amount paid for buying those books seems minuscule but the return is huge. The story of one stick versus a bundle of sticks that taught us the power of unity - a collection of just a few words but providing us a lesson for life. There are so many examples of such writing we read during the childhood that stays with us till the last breath.

There are so many quotes about books and those are so true - "Books are the best companion", "Books are the treasure house of knowledge", "Books are the way to the Truth" and so on. We all know that those who love reading, are never alone. Books give us the freedom to think. Books make us fearless. Book are the best way to learn about the places where we can't travel to, in person. Books take us to a journey having no boundaries.

Our past and present are full of examples where writers have changed the world and have been able to demonstrate the power of writing thereby creating a charisma.

Writers fought against Sati Pratha, Child abuse, Girl Child Killing, education barriers for girls, childhood marriage, slavery and other social causes and were able to stir the whole word with the power of their writing.

A book can turn dark into light, slavery into freedom, dumb into speech, weak into powerful, and poor into rich.

Swords cannot build long-lasting empires. However, writers have proven to be stronger than might warriors. The powerful ideas that come out of a writer’s pen have brought a man out of Barbarism to Civilization. The vastness of human beings consists in his ability to think and put it on a piece of paper. Writers always create that type of story on his piece of paper from the pen for the human being to think better in his life. A person is superior to animals not because of his physical strength, but due to his ability to think differently.

Thus, it is not the sword but the pen, which is the vehicle of thought that places man higher than animals.
"}]
There are a number of interview techniques that can help you to both prepare for your job interview and to impress during the interview as the right job candidate.

These tips and techniques are clearly detailed with examples provided to help you master your next job interview.

1. Predict the future:

You can anticipate 90 per cent of the interview questions you’re going to get. It’s an easy list to generate. “Why do you want this job?” “What’s a tough problem you’ve solved?” If you can’t think of any, Google “most common interview questions.” Write down the top 20 questions you think you’ll get.

2. Plan your attack

For every question, write down your answer. Yes, it’s a pain to actually write something. It’s hard and frustrating. But it makes it stick in your brain. That’s important. You want your answers to be automatic. You don’t want to have to think about your answers during an interview.

3. Have a backup plan

Actually, for every question, write down three answers. Why three? You need to have a different, equally good answer for every question because the first interviewer might not like your story. You want the next interviewer to hear a different story. That way they can become your advocate.

4. Prove yourself

Every question should be answered with a story that proves you can do what you’re being asked about. “How do you lead?” should be answered with “I’m a collaborative/decisive/whatever leader. Let me tell you about the time I ….” Always tell a story or have facts to prove you are what you say you are. More on how to construct and tell these stories in a future article.

5. Read the room

All that brainpower you’re not using to desperately come up with answers to questions? Look around. Focus on the interviewer. In the first 10 seconds, is there anything in their office, or about them, you can notice and use to forge a connection? A book on a shelf? A family photo? A painting? Read the interviewer: is their body language open or closed? Are they tired and should you try to pep them up? Do they like your answer or should you veer in another direction?

6. Go through the list of documents and details you need to have before you set out for your interview at the interview checklist

These were some of the Job interview tips for success. The more prepared and confident you are for your job interview the better your chances of getting the job you want.
"}]
My empty thought box struck with a thought again, and is knocked this time a new one.

Life. It’s a story and not a routine of rising dawn and falling dusk. We role-play somebody’s character each while, at each turn.

Now why I say this is not because I’m writing a story because I feel this every while that my actions are scripted. They are spontaneous, yet not in a way intended them to be in. We are casted into somebody’s plot.

Previously, I used to ponder why I’m doing the things, I’m not supposed to or I really don’t want to but since I’m doing them so frequent I realize it’s because somebody wants me to be doing it.

It was no late when I realized that there’s actually no use in lamenting over the spilt milk. It spilt because it had to. And thus, the only option we are left with is to move on to our next task.

Sometimes the best way to deal with the difficult trails of life is to build a wall for yourself that protects you from the unwanted criticisms, unnecessary discriminations and every hurdle which tries to stop you by and not reach your dreams. But never forget to build a door which lets you in through those seas of criticisms at least for once because even criticisms are a part of the life’s package.

When life puts you through tough situations don’t be complaining, rather cheer yourself up because you have a new assignment home. Don’t cover your face with coats of foundation rather try putting on valor, it gives you courage to move on!
"}]
For those who didn't get the reference, I've borrowed the title of this post from John Mayer's song, 'slow dancing in a burning room', which apart from like the most romantic thing to do amidst flames in a room, talks about perishing relationships and I couldn't happen to agree more.

I don’t understand relationships. Moreover, I don’t understand how people perceive this entire idea of relationships. Unfortunately, the only relationships we come across while growing up are based are the ties of the family and the other ties the society chooses for us and so all we grow up knowing are the relationships weld together by this sense of “duty” towards each other rather than love.

And there comes a point when you wonder what do these relationships exist for in the first place? Weren’t relationships meant to be invigorating to our existence but all they end up being is a noose round our necks – tightening their grips as we try to walk further.

Honestly, All I remember about relationships I’ve grown up seeing is just an obligation to stick around because you’re bound to, be it my parents’ relationship with each other or their relationship with their parents and each other’s parents. All I’ve seen is their pretentious smiles and frowns that they try to conceal (But they can’t. Duh, I’ve lived with you for nineteen years, how do you expect me not to figure out how much you hate each other?) It was like living in a house full of ghosts- shadows and noises but no warmth.

Every morning I woke up to see a pair of dead eyes staring back at me questioning me with their cold gaze whether I would be able to make it through the day? I had been living in this constant state of mourning the death of someone I loved, knowing little that it was the dearth of my own self that was slowly and excruciatingly hollowing me. And even though I felt hollow, I felt this constant weight in my chest that I needed to carry with me everywhere I went without letting anyone know.

I remember them being depressed, I don’t remember them trying to overcome it, but I do remember them blaming each other for their suicidal tendencies and breakdowns. I could not figure out how I fell into this condition of being clinically depressed because I was always the happy child (Maybe because I didn’t care about the battlefield my home had become) but as sleep turned rare and my unwarranted crying sessions became more frequent, I was dragged to a psychiatrist and now I belonged to the family as well (And I realised that no matter how much I denied it, somewhere deep down I cared about this bunch of people who- I was made to believe since I was born-were a thing called “family” to me and that dragged me down to where they were. In this whirlpool of emotions which “normal” people call depression.) A bunch of pills every day and I was expected to behave like the happiest nineteen year old.

I didn’t loath. I tried. I couldn’t. I failed.

But I learned. I learned that carrying the corpses of relationships have been long dead will perish you too. I learned that life is all about fresh starts and encouraging relationships.
"}]
EAMCET is inevitably one of the most important exams for all senior inter students; right now cracking EAMCET is the priority for all of them. Undoubtedly colleges have their own methods of grilling the students, but having a schedule of your own is always advisable. Besides hard work, there are few other things you need to know to make your preparation smoother and less tiresome.

txt
rich_1489736943578

1. Self-Evaluation:

For any exam, self assessment plays an important role in drafting out your study schedule. Many colleges have their own schedules and methods of grilling students but you need to know your weak areas and strong areas and plan your study schedule accordingly. When you don't like a particular a subject or a topic, you keep postponing it, do not commit such a mistake, finish with all your tough topics in the beginning.

2. Mock Tests:

Keep taking mock tests, that is the only way you can maximize your score. Besides being thorough with the concepts, you need to work on certain techniques like which questions to answer first, which questions to sacrifice because they are time taking. You can develop this approach only when you take up more and more tests. Solve old question papers, become familiar with the pattern. Also, be prepared for surprises on the exam day.

3. Manage Time:

Time management during the exam and also during your preparation is the key to your success in competitive exams like EAMCET. Since equal preference is given to first-year and second-year syllabus, divide your preparation time equally. Speed and accuracy are what matter, which comes through proper time management. Take regular breaks amid study schedules which will help you keep your focus. Since there is no obligation of scoring a minimum in a particular subject, invest more time in the subject you are good at to maximize your score.

4. Study Schedule:

Prepare a flexible schedule and stick to it no matter what. Since fifty percent of the marks is mathematics, put more efforts into it even if you don't like it. For all the students who are appearing for JEE, you need slightly different preparation for EAMCET, both of the exams differ in terms of pattern, therefore you make sure you prepare for both simultaneously.

5. Beyond Studies:

Make sure you clarify your doubts immediately. Take proper care of your health; keep yourself hydrated and also keep a check on what you are eating. Exercise regularly at least for fifteen minutes.
