Here Is What Made ATMOS 2018 A Grand Success

Conceived by the alumni from BITS Pilani in 2006, driven by passion and working for inspiration, BITS Embryo has achieved break-through in the transformation of classroom education to an interactive, friendly dissemination of facts, guidance and information.

This ATMOS, we hosted numerous speakers from diverse fields with special focus on innovation, entrepreneurship and economics, besides a special tribute to the heroes of 26/11 rescue operations.

We were honored to host the renowned economist and statesman Dr. Subramanian Swamy in conversation with novelist and columnist Mr. Sriram Karri. Dr. Swamy captured the attention of the audience with his intellect and gave his insights on the Indian economy and discussed the “no-income tax” policy which he thinks should be implemented for the benefit of the country.

The 26/11 Mumbai attacks have left deep impressions in the hearts and minds of our countrymen, 10 years later, we still feel that same; we were glad to host Mr. Praveen Teotia, a former MARCOS commando who encountered 4 terrorists and endured being shot four times on the night of the attacks and Mr. Sanjay Govilkar, a part of the Mumbai police force that was instrumental in capturing the prime accused, Ajmal Kasab, alive. These two brave-hearts mesmerized the audience with their patriotism and nerves of steel as they narrated incidents that made them who they are.

Innovation is a change that unlocks new value, keeping this in mind, BITS Embryo’s Project JUMPSTART hosted a panel of innovators and has been successful in conveying the need of the hour, innovation. The innovation panel included Padmashree Dr. Vikas Mahatme, a social entrepreneur and currently the Member of the Parliament; Padmashree Dr. Rajagopalan Vasudevan, the plastic man of India; Mr. Anang Tadar, the teenage tech-genius, who invented the googles for blind; Mr. Narayana Peesapaty, the man who invented edible cutlery.

We had a talk on BLOCKCHAIN and its potential to revolutionise the world by Mr. Sanachit Mehra, It is considered as the source code of next-gen cryptocurrencies, the term triggers many ideas. Founder of Cateina Technologies; we also hosted entrepreneur and co-founder of Nephroplus, Mr. Kamal Shah, providing quality dialysis services at a cost 30-40% less than that at the prestigious hospitals. The audience mainly comprising of budding entrepreneurs had a lot to take away from this talk.

After this successful edition of ATMOS, we can proudly say BITS Embryo is not and initiative frozen in time, it is a vision, a vital, growing dream that endeavours to bring to students the ability to have ambition and realise; to innovate, achieve, lead and live up to the BITSian spirit.
