I admire you for the bravery of reading this article despite the headline. I remember reading similar articles back in college and panicking about it and then dropping all my books and freaking out even more.

But seriously though, what are you still doing here? Go and study man you're only going to make it worse for yourself.

I know you're probably thinking, 'Oh the exam is one month away, I'm a one night batting kinda dude', I'm gonna have to stop you right there because A) that is a terrible idea and you are not as competent as you believe you are and B) You are capable of much more, but only when you prepare for it in advance. Look, you guys are awesome and intelligent and stuff but you've got to understand that you have limits and if you break them while doing important stuff like studying for your future, you are going to end up burning out and screwing the pooch for your exam. No, the correct way to deal with this stuff is to understand that you need to prepare in advance because you cannot and will not achieve your goals if you only do it half heartedly or in a hurry.

Listen to me, studying is like sharpening a blade. The longer you sharpen in, the deeper it'll cut. You can also try and sharpen it the day before battle and all it'll do is flatten some noses on the battlefield and put your life at risk.

What are you still waiting for? Go prepare for your exams already!
"}]
Perhaps one of the finest military minds of the subcontinent, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj today is revered as the bravest Martha that has ever lived and remembered for his battle against invading forces as well as his ideals. But did you know that his last name was actually Bhonsle? Shivaji Bhonsle would eventually go on to be known as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, his legend has been memorialised in various comics, TV shows and even movies. Here are some more things you should know about him.

1. He was the beacon of secularism

You have to understand that Shivaji lived in a time where Mughals had conquered the north and sentiment against Muslims were not on a all time high. Despite that, Shivaji understood that he must never discriminate no matter the religion and even appointed Muslims to high ranking positions in his army.

2. The Gong of War:

Until 1657, Shivaji maintained peaceful relations with the Mughal Empire. Shivaji offered his assistance to Aurangzeb, the Mughal viceroy of the Deccan and son of the Mughal emperor, in conquering Bijapur in return for formal recognition of his right to the Bijapuri forts and villages under his possession. Disatisfied with the Mughal response, and receiving a better offer from Bijapur, he launched a raid into the Mughal Decccan. It was after that he started his battle against the Mughals.

3. 1v1:

Shivaji was a fierce warrior and he went on to defeat Afzal Khan in single combat. It is said that they met in a hut that only allowed them to carry a single sword, but Shivaji was sure that Afzal Khan would attack him. So, he wore an armour underneath which stopped Khan's dagger. The Persian chronicles state that Shivaji attacked him first while the Maratha chronicles state the opposite.

Shivaji understood the importance of controlling the waterways and having a functional navy to thwart any invading force and he was right. 5. Shivaji The Merciful:

He would not tolerate the assault of innocent women, he would not tolerate any attacks on innocent civilians and actively prohibited his soldiers from entering and looting civilian houses during raids. He was also extremely merciful and let his prisoners live even at risk to himself. Yet, he never shied from a battle, because it was his duty. People remember Sam Manekshaw fondly for his fantastic leadership at the helm of our army while fending off offensives from across the border and also for being a supremely intelligent and quick witted man who took no nonsense from anyone, primarily of whom was former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi. But did you know he almost didn't make it into the army?

Born April 3rd, 1914, Sam Manekshaw went through life like a champion and categorically made the right choices all along, although I'm not sure if he would agree with them. Here's what you need to know about him.

1. His father refused to let him join the army:

Times change but some things remain the same. Manekshaw came from a privileged family and naturally when you have privilege, you can also avoid joining the army to make a living. Hence the objection by his father. Nonetheless, Sam Manekshaw wrote his entrance exam and went straight to the army because he wanted to serve his country.

2. Partition Choices:

When India was freed from the British rule and Pakistan formed, officers in the army were given a choice between serving the British or the Indian army. Manekshaw considered his options before choosing India and we are all the better for it. In an interview years later, when asked if he had gone with Pakistan instead and a war broke out, what would have happened, he replied, "Well, then Pakistan would have won."

3. He also happens to be a World War II Veteran:

In 1942, Manekshaw served as the Captain of the 4/12 Frontier Force Regiment in Burma during World War II against the Japanese Army. On April 2nd, 1800, German composer, pianist and who now is considered a giant of classical music, Ludwig van Beethoven debuted his first ever symphony in front of an audience in Vienna, the city where he would eventually live his entire life and be buried in. I often wonder, with people as great as him, if they ever knew the fame and legacy they would leave behind once they leave the world.

The famous composer who eventually was known as part of the Three Bs (the other of whom is Bach), Beethoven's work in C minor is now world famous and he is, to this day, extensively studied.

The symphony is clearly indebted to Beethoven's predecessors, particularly his teacher Joseph Haydn as well as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, but nonetheless has characteristics that mark it uniquely as Beethoven's work, notably the frequent use of sforzandi and the prominent, more independent use of wind instruments. Sketches for the finale are found among the exercises Beethoven wrote while studying counterpoint under Johann Georg Albrechtsberger in the spring of 1797.

The premiere took place on 2 April 1800 at the K.K. Hoftheater nächst der Burg in Vienna. The concert program also included his Septet and Piano Concerto No. 2, as well as a symphony by Mozart, and an aria and a duet from Haydn's oratorio The Creation. This concert effectively served to announce Beethoven's talents to Vienna.

Let us remember the giant he was on such an important day in his own life, a day which gave us music as we know it.
"}]
There are a good number of books out there and there would always be a best pick out of all , and my best pick would be THE GREAT INDIAN TREASURE by Raghunandan Vadla and of course there is a good reason for it. Firstly, for those who are not familiar with the author, Mr.Raghunandan Vadla is a Speaker, Entrepreneur, Education consultant, Teacher and a Visionary who believes that the development and empowerment of our country depends on the fact that the next generation be aware of the hidden treasures of our country. The word treasure looks cool, but what’s actually the Great Indian Treasure ,is it the jewels or valuable items that come to our mind the moment we hear the word TREASURE or is it the one which is way more valuable than that? and to know that…well ,it’s time you take up an amazing journey that the author has to offer through the book .

The characters in the book are depicted in such a way that we could enjoy the whole ride through the book and we feel like they are accompanying us through this memorable journey for real. The way of delivering the story is the best part of it and for action, mystery and adventure lovers…bingo! you found the best book that takes you to an entirely different world. The book is simply the way on how the youth of India should realise the true treasure of our country and its kinda treasure hunt with a lot of facts and things that makes you speechless and proud enough. Another stunning feature of this book is the inclusion of some marvellous words by some of the greatest personalities of all time.

I am sure you won’t be disappointed with my suggestion and hope you would give a try experiencing the book and unearthen THE GREAT INDIAN TREASURE…I would like to end by giving you the phrase from the book that I have personally fallen in love with...

IT’S THE QUALITY OF LIFE THAT MATTERS AND NOT THE QUANTITY OF IT…
"}]
Take a moment to think about all those times you've attended an event or watched interviews of people, whom society considers to be successful, "Success" is a fairly relative concept whose definition varies from person to person. When those successful people are asked to share their wisdom and offer some advice to youngsters so that they could achieve their goals, most of the time what we hear them say are things like,"Hard Work, Dedication, Confidence, Focus, Purpose" etc. If you ask a High School student to take out a paper and ask him to note down ingredients of a successful life he/she would probably state the same points or possibly even more, and that made me wonder if we know what to do already, then why is it that most of us aren't where we want to be? are we seeking the right answers? we can't if we don't ask the right questions. intuition developed because of our subconscious mind has a lot to do with how we perceive, and since it happens in a domain we lack control over, it limits perception to some preconceived notions, and that is why I think we often miss a few key factors that can actually open up a whole new range of possibilities in our lives. when a single person tries to address a group of people, from his POV what he sees is a normalized group of individuals, and problems that each individual has are highly specific to that single person and I used to find it odd that, I never felt a need to approach someone to seek motivation from, because every time I did, the end conclusion was clear and mostly the same that, these people only remember how they got there but don't quite understand the nature of drive that helped them accomplish goals in their lives, and their advice and the temporary "motivation" it provides or whatever you call it, is just like a medicine that treats the symptoms and leaves the root cause unaddressed. "IT IS COMPLETELY USELESS !! ".

Have you ever heard people from the earlier generation bragging about how they went through hardships in their times and stood firm and worked hard despite the odds? and we are expected to exceed that standard because we seem to possess freedom of choice and action along with all the resources we need. It may sound counter-intuitive to conclude that, having such comforts doesn't help as much as their absence does. so does that mean? we need problems in our lives to urge us to act in ways that make us strong and responsible? not necessarily ...

As it goes with the laws of nature, what we need is an imbalance that sets things in motion, if we draw an analogy between life and an electric circuit, our pursuit to move further would be a quest for finding that potential difference to get the current running ... problems in life do it for free, but they also bring repercussions with them ... those who fail to wield it often succumb, while some become resilient and some of us even become strong enough that we kind of overshoot to places we wouldn't expect life would take us ... and this bottom-up perspective of how things are, fits pretty well. So what I believe is that instead of seeking ways to get where we want to from someone else, we must look into ourselves, this is also one of the cliche sentences we hear more often, and is also overlooked because people don't usually agree that they lack better understanding on themselves. what I mean by "looking within" is to spend the time to truly figure out a path that resonates with our beliefs, ideas and set of values, I guess this is what finding passion truly means ... this gives us a clear sense and creates contrast between who we are and who we were meant to be, and this realization itself creates that necessary imbalance we need to move forward, unlike other kinds of motivation garbage this one lasts longer. which in turn enables us to take small "CONSISTENT" steps towards a life that makes us feel alive, and with consistent thinking come strong "FOCUS", "PROFICIENCY" and an undeterred "WILL" that motivates us to "WORK HARD" and infamous among students like me "DISCIPLINE" comes along too, all of which don't completely assure a happily ever after life or success, which brings us to the most important part, we lack complete control over everything in life, and it is still a play of chances, all we can do is take steps to increase chances towards a favourable outcome, so it is also important to view possibilities and opportunities seperately, no matter what the amount of time and magnitude of resources we invest in something we cherish, if things get out of control leading to a failure we must never fail to consider the opportunity that being alive with this gift of perfected human life to think and act gives us, so when someone says,"doing so would guarantee you success" just smile at the poor person and if feasible help him/her understand that outcomes in life aren't certain ... and he/she is feeding a toxic mindset that makes us vulnerable when it comes to accepting failure ... it is not possible to gain the relatively infinite wisdom in a single lifetime, and that is why I believe, the best help we could offer each other is to share our experiences gained from failures and mistakes in our lives that help us think better and improvise ... this is what I thought through my journey from the day I regret getting into this college to today, when I still regret being here but with a significant difference, I've learned to focus on anything good that I am left with rather than thinking about what I've lost ... and I guess thats an important lesson which I hope you realize without going through as much trouble as I went through in my life ...
Life is obviously a mixture of success and failures which passes through many hurdles As a human ,we cannot stop thinking .And that thought makes us do many different things which may sometimes go very wrong or pave one a very better life to live.
But our thoughts doesn't stop screeming from our minds until and unless we stop breathing.
A child when first gets introduced to this beautiful God created world doesn't know what should he do or what should he think. He is neither a judge who can judge others or infact himself nor a minister who can rule this entire world. But if you observe, till they get matured and starts understanding the real aspects of life, wherever they go,think that that place is theirs and the miracle is no one stop them doing what they want to do.
Although every human on this planet born alike,i.e..from mother's womb ,create a different way to lead one's life as we grow up.
But just try to do the right thing whatever you do.It is not mandatory to be superior amongst your people. It is enough if your heart peeps that "You are doing the right thing". That is what I mean by "Try to be right, not the superior".
When our life begins,it is like a closed book which has not been read by anyone. It is we,who need to go through the pages of that book resembling life. The better we try to read every page of it,the better you will understand the essence of life and then you will see yourself brightening.

"}]

Trapped under the heap of syllabus,
as the time keeps ticking at a really fast rate,

he comes up with a brilliant strategy,
which is to "procrastinate".

There is this stupid little warrior in all of us,
who convinces us that it's "OK" even though the syllabus is a fuss.

To start or not while my mind seesawed,
he suggested to "not", saying that the time is quite odd.

When I finally begin, after wasting an entire day,
this fellow still doesn't seem to compromise on his play.

He transforms the wall into an abstract masterpiece
and makes my bed cozier with a hint of gentle breeze.

"Not a minute more than an hour", I said to myself and slept.
Woke up the next morning to foresee my fate and wept.

Then, again I heard the little moron say,
that "Warriors don't cry, they bend down and pray".
