Hey everyone!

This is Susmitha.

I'm pursuing my B.tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering at Vardhaman College of Engineering. You might have understood by the title itself what i am trying to express about.

Be true to your heart. And answer these questions.
1. Have you ever been thankful to your earphones for taking you, to a calm place while you are stuck in a crowded, noisy traffic?
2. Have you ever been thankful to your earphones for helping you in ignoring the irritative people around you?
3. Have you ever been thankful to wynk, soundcloud, saavn etc apps for getting The Music at the tip of your finger?
Not sure about you, but I'm quite thankful!
My love for music has begun while watching MTV, 9XM etc music channels at the age of 10. From humming a song to singing it out loud, my love for music happened. It was there with me in my happiness, sadness and even in my deadness.
As being a student in Vardhaman, carrying your phone in college premises or even in the college bus is banned. So it is a tough situation for people like me to listen music without a phone in your travel time. There are many days, when I missed my college bus on purpose, in order to listen to music peacefully, travelling in an auto for more than 30kms.
I get emotional and i cry listening to some songs.Especially, ARIJIT SINGH songs.
He just sings with all the pain and he makes you get emotional in every possible way.
case 1. I sometimes think, how a blank resume of a single student makes him fill his resume in a successful path of career?

A college is simply isn't enough for a student to graduate or show the world that he is graduated. There are various skills lacking in a student like communication, interaction, public speaking, verbal skills etc.., which is making them lose the courage to face the world and live up to the expectations of people. No colleges now specifically take care of such skills, there are very rarely few colleges found working on students skills development.

A student should always think in a positive and negative ways too. But the negative thoughts should lead to the positive path only. Never think of peers much and make it a distraction in your studies. Instead, you can think of studies, if so you are not into that also, you can think about nature, admire and be inspired by it.

Never think to step back after choosing a path to live. Like I saw many students who step back of engineering after choosing it. WHY?

It was your choice of being a part of engineering life, your happiness, your passion, your interest, and much more. My dear friends always remember one thing, "THIEVES ARE THOSE WHO DON'T ENCOURAGE YOU, BE WITH YOU, WHO DON'T SUPPORT YOU, WHO WILL NOT BE YOUR SIDE."

There are other good people too, who stand for you, who are happy to your success, who will never leave your hand. Never fall into a trap of friendship or a relationship which affects your career and you will be regretting at the end.

I am not telling it is going to be easy to settle in your career, I'm telling your hard work now will be worth tomorrow in your life. Worry about loving yourself, your ideas rather than being interested in others ideas, skills etc..

Finally, i want to tell each and every student to push yourself because if you wait also no one will come and help you. It will always seem to be impossible unless and at least you try it in a proper way with your 100% efforts.

ALL THE VERY BEST TO EVERY STUDENT FOR THEIR CAREER!!!
"}]
No matter in which position you are in your life, no matter how bleak your situation is, no matter how deep you sunk, this is not the end of your story.

The world right now is in the middle of mental health crisis. Almost half of the population suffers from depression at some point or the other in their life. So, rather than joining in the queue we should know how to get down and know how to change it because it is we who create our own negative feelings. We are responsible for everything in our life as we mold our lives according to our own desires. The reason someone gets into depression is that there is an external factor that didn't materialize in their life, or they have lost something that is outside their control.

We are taught how to get a job but no one teaches us how to live in a state of happiness and how important our conscious and unconscious thoughts are. When you have the courage to end your life why don't you use it to change your life? You don't have a right to hurt other's feelings because killing yourself isn't just about you it is about your family and friends.

Don't you think our happiness is more worth than a job? Yes, it is! Before you say that happiness doesn't pay our bills just remember that when you're happy you'll be 10times more energized and you'll be in a position to take in positive actions in your life which makes your life much easier. Just take some moment for yourself every day to develop yourself into a better individual.

Remember that it is okay to fail, it is ok to break your heart, it is okay to feel the pain and it is okay to face the darkness. There is always a SUN SHINING BRIGHTLY BEHIND THE DARKEST OF THE CLOUDS. Use your memories to make you happy and strong but never make your memories use you. Never be victimized by your own thoughts. What is happening to you is never a punishment, it is an opportunity. Cease it and you'll cherish every moment of your life. Use your pain as an instrument for your greatest growth.
"}]
Roll Rida, the inspiring Telugu rapper whom we had previously interviewed (which you can read by clicking here), has come out with a new song recently called 'Shankar ka beta' which is about, as you guessed it, Lord Ganesha.
With the widely celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi coming up in a few weeks from now, releasing a song that canvasses everything that makes the festival so memorable for the youth of the city. In more ways than one, the youth make the festival what it is: a nonstop ride of amazing sights and excellence in public service during the period of time they decide to host the Lord in their galli.
The video, directed by Harikanth Gunamagari, takes us through the steps of preparing and celebrating the festival, step by step in a way only a rap video can. Have you ever spent a lazy afternoon with friends, just playing cards? Boredom seems to find a way to creep up on you after a couple of rounds of rummy or poker though. Then the real fun begins though as we compete with one another to start building a house of cards. The more you try to stack them cautiously, the more they come crashing down. The patient ones manage to build a moderately high tower before a gust of air by a jealous friend has all your efforts in vain. Sometimes, life can be seen as an analogy for building a house of cards. What’s the similarity you ask? Let me ask you, how many of us exhaust ourselves trying to carefully arrange the fragile pieces of our lives into a perfect formation? Even if a fraction of an inch is out of place it can bring down the whole house. At this stage in my life, it seems like I can only throw all my cards to the wind and go running for the hills. Endless questions haunt me every day. What are you going to do after your engineering? What are your goals in life? What is your plan? Do you know what skills you need to learn to achieve success? Why have you waited so long to make a decision?

Many of you are probably experiencing the same frustrations towards these questions like I am. I feel no different from the confused fresher that joined engineering three years ago. Looking back though I realize that this journey has led me down a path I could have never imagined myself on. Many a time I thought to myself that I had it all figured out. My goals were crystal clear, my motivation couldn’t be higher, and I felt unstoppable. It only lasted till the morning after when the 7 o’ clock alarm went off and I lost the war against sleep yet again. I guess you can say my house of cards tumbled right in front of me. This didn’t happen just once though. My ideas seemed to fail time and again as I just stood there, unable to do a thing. With the way things were, giving up seemed like a better option than admitting failure.

Then I read a quote that had a profound impact on me. “When we hit our lowest point, we are open to the greatest change”. For the first time in a long while I felt an emotion rise within me that most people look for despairingly, hope. For those of you struggling to make your dreams come true, or those who lost their way in life I can only give you this gentle reminder. As long as you hold on to the hope of a better tomorrow and have the will power to strive towards it, it doesn’t matter how many times you fall. You will surely be able to have a laugh over it with friends, shuffle your deck of cards and build a house of cards all over again.
"}]
It’s the time of the year when certain multi-national companies embark on their journey to recruit, improve and exploit the general public under the name tag of placements. Over the course of this decade, the IT sector has boomed, sunk and stabilized quite a few times. But the classical, irrational mindset of our countries society does not change with the changing times. Worse yet, it pushes the fleet of first timers in the profession under the pressure plate and squeezes the living life out of them to reanimate a flawed system.

However, it is the very essence of human nature to not be content with what we have. If we did, the surge of innovation across the centuries wouldn’t be a reality. It does get to a breaking point however. This line in the sand has been defined, redefined and washed off more than we can remember. Complaining the system is flawed is easy, but we are a part of the problem. Our need to one up other members of the society in terms of pay or title is a motivation but also plays the devil on our shoulder. So let’s talk about how every passing year, a whirlpool of stereotyped questions, overcomplicated MCQs and half hearted group discussions determine the fate of more than a million freshers in the working field of Information Technology.

When the calendar strikes the August/September period every year, the placement frenzy kicks off in a very subdued manner, attracting only a few students across some select branches. As the semester closes however, the traditions of buckling up a white shirt with a black pant and freshly polished shoes gets the full swing of the pendulum, asking students from every possible background to battle it out for a job on a perceived level field of play. As time progresses, more and more classmates, batch mates and far acquaintances secure some or the other job, leaving behind a few unevolved members of a working society, the root cause for national melancholy. What if I told you that this isn’t the end of the line, however ape-like inconvenience they might cause and these people have futures too, which don’t end at the college gates.

Do not let multi-million headlines from 2 colleges across the country for 10 people out of a demographic of 1.7 billion denounce your value to this community in any way, shape or form. According to the society, people have always judged others if they have a boy best friend. But sometimes instead of being in a relationship, friendship cures all ailments.Meet Aravind, a budding electrical engineer who always makes everyone laugh no matter how bad their day is going. The best days are when we have long lunch breaks. Even when we at surrounded by pandemoniums of sadness he just fills your day with joy.

Nobody knows how can he still be so happy and such a morning person because most of us are walking zombies when it's comes to early morning. He's like the Ayurveda to our sickness. An extremely brilliant student somehow managed to be a totally cool dude when it came to college.Even though we studied together in the same school he was a total nerd because life was hard for him because his parents worked in our school and never has he ever shown his dark side and honestly it has made me wonder whether does he even have one.

He's the batman to my Robin. The one person whom I can never forget because of his childish acts which often turns a frown into a smile. Its all about the inner beauty that reflects and the outer beauty it is all just judgemental people talking behind your back. He has been my best friend ever since the beginning of time.

The most unexpected people turn out to be a friend forever because of our behaviour we initially judge them without even being close to them. Once we know their behaviour we realize that the judicial process was entirely wrong. There is something more to that person apart from the negatives. Each person has their own talent they can be proud of.

A good friend is a box of treasured jewels that are found on the deep side of the ocean. It requires plenty of time for excavating so as to find the perfect treasure and he is the perfect treasure to everyone.

"}]
The glorification of actors to the point that they're seen as gods is something I've never been able to fully understand. Growing up with people around me who seemed to like a particular movie and exactly how macho the 'hero' was in that movie, which was apparently enough to form an emotional and personal connection with someone who didn't even know of their existence. This was my first stark difference between the children I grew up with: everyone had their flavour, their favourite 'hero', and I was the freak show that thought they were all dumb for liking someone just because they happened to twirl their moustache just right and said the right dialogues.

Because that is what the movie industry, the Telugu Film Industry more specifically since Bollywood seems to be adapting, is these days. A bit of makeup and movie magic to make yesteryear's has-been actors look young (and of course, failing spectacularly), with the same rehashed plot that solely exists to be filled by the actor's ego and give room for the actor to stand his ground and issue powerful dialogue written for them by their betters.

Of course, Bollywood is no stranger to massive ego trips, just take a look at the recent SRK produced and starring Jab Harry Met Sejal. The entire movie can only be described as a stroke to the 'King' Khan's ego, despite the fact that he plays a 37-year-old deeply sad man, but I digress.

Dhanya Rajendran, an editor with The News Minute, tweeted on August 4th that she couldn't stand even the first half of Jab Harry Met Sejal and that even Vijay's Sura had been bearable until the interval, which is when she left. Now, I need you to understand that Sura released 7 years ago, but that didn't stop Dhanya from being a victim of targeted abuse by the 'fans' of actor Vijay.

This seemingly innocuous tweet was treated as a personal affront to the very lives of those who call themselves fans of the actor, so much so that they carried out a targetted campaign of harassment. Now, I do not intend to censor anything that was said to her: being in the public eye is stressful enough, but being a woman who simply dares to have an opinion (gasp, I know) in public is a whole different ball game. Take a look at the targeted abuse fans of Vijay put her through.

If you think there was nothing wrong with what Dhanya was put through, or even if you believe that what was said to her is not okay, but normal because fans are not exactly known to be smart, then you're part of the problem. Perhaps I'm being a little too accusatory and direct here, but the fact that one thinks such kind of sexual harassment is normal in itself is a failure of their education and displays a profound lack of empathy that, to be fair, the entire country seems to be missing in some issues.

What happened with Dhanya Rajendran is merely the tip of the iceberg. We've all heard about the fights between the refuse of society about which hero is better, there are entire pages dedicated to 'trolling' an actor they do not like. Their criteria for not liking a 'hero' is not their acting prowess or their ability to be nuanced with the emotions shown on the screen, but something as asinine as 'this actor is from another caste as mine,' or 'I don't like his face.'

Nowhere else in the world will you find such rabid fanboyism. Crazy fans have existed for celebrities across the world, but no other country on the planet normalises actor worship as much as India does. America does have their obsession with the Kardashians, god knows why they're still around, the Jersey Shores and other similar shows, but it simply cannot be compared to the fans of the actors here. Rabid would be the understatement of the century.

But more disturbing than the rabid worship of their favourite 'hero' is their reaction to the people who criticise them. Being from a privileged family affords me certain firewalls to stop sexist slurs against me. However, my mother and sisters are not spared the rape threats of the fans. The sad and sick reality of the fact that the fans threatening me, a man, with the rape of the women in my life is no coincidence: this is a society that still places value on a woman's 'honour', and from this society come the scum of the earth that sees toxic masculinity on the screen and decide, then and there, that they must defend it with their lives, no matter the cost.

Your heroes are not gods, they're businessmen who know that their audience has no ambition for movies that challenge them to look at their surroundings in new light, businessmen who know that a slightly original story would be wasted upon the masses who merely want to see their 'hero' be masculine on the screen, which has come to mean delivering powerful dialogue, objectifying and stalking women and beating people up.

Some of the heroes of today are not even actors, Shah Rukh Khan is a fantastic actor but he is much more comfortable being a star than an actor by his own admission, and thus we get a movie like Jab Harry Met Sejal. Salman Khan, the less I say about him, the better. He is straight up not an actor, the man cannot act to save his own life, he is an entertainer through and through even though the kind of people that find him entertaining makes me worry for them, and yet they have legions of fans. SRK, I can understand, he has what it takes, just has a bit of an ego problem, the other Khan not so much.

I've always wondered how hollow and sad one's life must be to dedicate themselves to the extent of religious worship of actors with bigger egos than Mount Everest. Actors who only seem to do formulaic movies with no intent of improving because 'fans won't accept'. Make no mistake, I put the blame on the current state of the industry solely on the shoulders of the fans with no ambition to watch and demand better movies, but the blame for what happened with Dhanya Rajendran, I place on society, on the normalisation of stalking and rape threats. The movie industry is merely a giant looking glass at the rot that infects our society, filled with rabid fans and actors who have no interest in taming the monsters they have created.
"}]
So it is done. The long awaited weekend we've been looking for since the time we're back to our works. The time to cherish all the connections that we've might not be made on our will and but are strengthened by the love we've shared. Be it with our friends, siblings or the distant cousins whom we meet only during these days, isn't it?

Needless to say, these are not the only days we express our love for each other. But what makes them so special are the customs with which we celebrate them. Not that the Orthodox mentality compels us to do it, but if not today then when else?

For the new faces around in the college, Friendship Day is the one conversation starter amidst the students. And with the friendship belt accompanying your sentiments, it turns out to be all the more special for a person. And a chocolate on top of it, you certainly cannot reject it, can you?

But here's the twist for the newly interacted peeps. Make sure you escape the eyes of your 'prospects' on Raksha Bandhan. For the ones who have already in this circle, you are the ones who make this day count. A bit of kumkum on your head with the rice grains, a kit-kat in return and there you go. Also, not to forget, you wear the decent clothing too, something that you don't see around often in your college, do you?

Lucky are those people who made it to their homes this weekend. Or shall I say, were called back to their homes. The precious time with their families on such occasions is worth remembering. But for those, who celebrated these days with their newly formed family away from their family, this is the start of their bonding for life.
"}]
