Experience in college so far...

The word ‘experience’ is the outcome of sometimes sweet & sometimes bitter lessons but, it always motivates us to go ahead with great satisfaction!

Running out from all the mess of seat allotment trauma just after my intermediate, somewhere with a pang of guilt in my heart... joined SREC... accepting the truth that - "You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending."

Thus, joined the college… My first semester was interesting and new same as a chick coming out of egg & facing the new world…

txt
rich_1564581969011

We were grouped into sections clubbing 30 from CSE and 30 from ECE. And I was in Section A… As it was the first year of engineering subjects was almost the same as all the branches.

Being an Autonomous institution, the course plan and schedules designed were very helpful and beneficial. The best part regarding was the whole C programming language course which was divided into 2 parts, Introduction to programming - dealt in 1st semester and remaining part- Problem-solving by programming was covered in 2nd semester. Efforts of our Ip sir –Pramod sir to enable good understanding over the concepts and encouragement to do course projects strengthened our basics.

Lab times were the best of all! Engineering Chemistry lab… I was like cherishing back my school days labs… In the name of the experiment, we used to do different trials of mixing one solution into another… I really miss those all funny moments with friends in the lab… those scoldings from lab assistants… arguments for internal marks… and many other silly moments… those now when we remember… burst out with laughter!

txt
rich_1564581969012

The traditional day was the first event for us that was held in the college... Different competitions were held on that day like Rangoli competitions, tug of war, singing, dancing, cooking competitions... I even took part in the cooking contest and won the reward... Later realized... Even I am a good cook! And by seeing this my mother was like shocked... How could this.. and she was like saying... the judges might not have good taste pallets... Haha... We being freshers got great freedom to explore the college... like the whole day we spent roaming all over the college and clicking pics and having memories.

Through different means and workshops, got to know our seniors in the college... and knew that they will always be back of us in skill's enablement... Meanwhile, as I told earlier... got to know about stuMagz which became a great part of my life now like created a new enthusiasm to follow along with my passion for writing. It's truly a student discovery platform! Got to know amazing people... Blessed to get supported and encouraged by Nirmal bro.

txt
rich_1564581969013

The group activities and the simple projects, those English blogs that we did helped in interacting more with our classmates... and even got to learn many from them... Because each one of our classmates was extraordinary in their own way in different skills. Believe it or not, our section was really sincere and hardworking compared to other... and this compliment was given by our lecturers indeed! And our class CR's were the best I say... So responsible!

The whole 2nd semester... we all done with the labs namely GDM, product design studio, ELCS,... Thus, I can say that more it covered practical sessions... all hectic viva's, records... manuals... But one thing I felt great was, knowledge and concepts were gained by us were from interactions, implementations, and exploration, learning from mistakes... and surely those things will be remembered for a long.

txt
rich_1564581969014

Slowly don't know how days passed away & now I entered into 2nd year still ‘the hunt to find the best me and to know my field of interests’ is alive. Now I entered into my core subjects... The reason why I am that attached with 1st-year memories because it generated new hope and zeal to keep going and build great confidence in me. Hope everything will go great!

Well, the most apart, 1st year gifted me the best friends squad! How can I forget my bestie Joshitha... who was always there by my side, but unwillingly need to be apart far due to the different branches we belong to... but, I know you still be there to support me to cross easily every mile!

So at last... I would wish all my friends over happy 1-year great intimacy and togetherness! Let's, Rock guys!

The journey of my college started from the orientation day seminar. Everyone is a stranger to me but slowly they became friends of mine.

Our college starts at 9:40A.M. That’s too early to a lazy person like me. My laziness is like 8 when I lie down it becomes infinity:p. Every day I used to go late to the college and miss my first period attendance. Anyhow, proxy is not going to work out as my teachers are smarter; so I learned to Maska them for my attendance.

Last bench used to be my favorite place where I got a gang who shouts, laugh at silly reasons, enjoys and study as well. They are the reason I never find any class boring. The view of my college from the window beside me is awesome. So my routine would be, either listening to the classes or time pass with these things, waiting for that 4:00P.M bell to ring.

Some naughty things we always like to do are, Eating lunch box secretly during the boring lecture, playing ludo, pen fight, hand cricket etc. during the classes, gossiping my friends, planning to bunk class anyhow that plan couldn’t workout many times

Apart from them, I used to take part actively in activities such as seminars, presentations. I will never miss a chance when I used to call upon the stage to speak something. This helped me a lot in breaking the ice between me, lecturers and my fellow friends in my first year.

For the first time I learned to do night outs to complete my assignments, records, and observations. Overnight studies. Exams became the most creative phase of my life. As time passed by, we completed my first year. Anyhow, the lecturer classes, notes, Google, YouTube, tutorials point helped me in clearing all the subjects with a decent percentage.

As the second year seniors with a new joy and enthusiasm, we Wanna trouble our juniors. Unfortunately, our college is a raging free campus. Neither we get ragged nor we get a chance to do ragging. With the new faculty with some other new friends, our second year started. Now we grew up we started thinking about our future and planning accordingly. Engineering is something different from the second year. We are introduced to the new coding subjects. Our coding programs never ended without raising an error.

Apart from studies, I have gathered a lot of memories. Canteen became our favorite place. Friends became a family of mine. Our gallery was used to fill with the photos of ours. In the meantime, our second year completed.

Now we are in the third year. We started focusing more on our goals. I have started my gate preparation and hope at least this time I stick to my time table and do things accordingly. We want to create more stories more memories this year. Next year I hope doing well in my projects and Gate too…

College is not just a place where you’ll learn answers to a lot of life questions. But also a phase which will make you question a lot of life’s answers.
"}]
It’s been a year and a couple of months, since my time in Little Flower Degree College and its truly been an exceptional experience. The friends, the teachers I have now are people I am going to remember and cherish forever.

As a teenager joining a new college knowing no one I worried about my social life but looking back today I don’t have that fear because I believe that somehow the right people came into my life, the one’s who help and guide me in my decisions.

This college helped me grow in many ways, I did so many things that I never thought I would do. This past year my life as a graduate in college was filled with fun and a lot of learning, I look forward to do the same this year too.

College is a little more different that I hoped , ever since the beginning of school I wanted to just run off to college imagining that it would be fun having less responsibilities and most of all less studying.
But now I know better college requires a lot more responsibilities, more than that college is just like a reminder it’s an alarm for us to realize that we are entering the real world soon and our main priority is to focus on our careers and on what we want to become and do in life.

College is a platform that showed me a little bit of the real world where I learnt team work, conflict management , all through fun activities, games and projects .
This year I intend to fully seize all the various opportunities that come along with being a student of Little Flower Degree College and not missing a single one.

stuMagz is all about giving student writers a platform where they can write and share. If you are a student who is interested in writing and you want to know what it takes to be a writer, then this workshop is where you learn it.

In this workshop, you will learn the dos and don'ts of writing, how to structure a writeup, how to articulate, how to choose a topic and more from an experienced journalist.

The person conducting this workshop has been working in media for over 8 years and has written extensively on a varied range of topics in leading newspapers like Times of India and Telangana Today in addition to having worked for several digital media platforms.
"}]
We all have experienced the confusion, insecurity and uncertainty at some point of time in our life which come with a feeling of ignorance. Maybe you keep sending messages to a friend who stopped replying who once promised to stay through your thick and thins. No matter what context, you’re left with unanswered questions and uncomfortable emotions that put you down. Now, what should you do when this type of situation arises? Each time I felt ignored by my closed ones at different phases of my life, I tried to walk through these following steps that totally repaired me and set me free from the false relations and emotions. (I hope this might help you too.)

1. Give the person the space: One of the most unproductive things you do is to send them constant messages, keep calling them or try to meet them without their consent. Instead, take a deep breath and give the person to cool off. Let them consider reasons that caused them to ignore you.

2. Make sure that the person is really ignoring you: Stop assuming that you’re being ignored when in fact you are not. Think whether this might be true of you. Start assessing whether you are really being ignored for reasons. Give personal explanations for what’s going on.

3. Avoid overreacting: When you know that someone is ignoring you truly, it’s easy to jump into all sorts of dramatic conclusions. Try to avoid lashing out and holding onto negative emotions. Remind your mind that many big situations have got solved peacefully.

4. Don’t let it consume you: Stop over thinking and relating yourself to the situations that make you feel devastated. Devote extra time to your hobbies; spend more quality time with your loved ones. Smile all the time.

5. Meet face to face: Whenever you can, make the conversation happen face to face. Speak your heart open and clear all the misunderstandings. If you don’t like to catch up, talk on the phone or exchange messages.

6. Apologize if necessary: This is the last thing you can do. If you’re dealing with someone who has been ignoring you because they’re hurt or angry about something you have done. An apology is the quickest way to move on. In the event you think you’ve done nothing wrong at all, yes you can, of course, apologize just to mend the relationship.

Dreams come true! Well, it is proven that the whole depends on the power of goal setting. In the same way... here's a goal that was triggered as an aspiration by a budding gang of students on the 1st graduation day of their seniors...held in the college (SREC) and finally came true by the 4th graduation day, 2019! Curious to know what the goal was! Read ahead...

"Incident of the first graduation day (2016)... Interrogating a person with a medal and an Outstanding award in his hand generated a new desire in us! That day I and my friends strongly decided that one from our gang must bag this title for sure and finally I got this... A proud moment for my gang and my family ", quotes Ravula Sirisha of Computer Science and Engineering Department who was hatted the title of the Best Outstanding Student #SREC.

Isn't it inspiring! Outstanding Student... As the name says outstanding each and every aspect here matters! The outstanding student is the person who has a natural curiosity and sees things differently, asks interesting questions, tries to connect things and relate them to other experiences, explore talents, and yes, usually gets good if not the best grades. In this case, Sirisha was extremely immersed.

Extracurricular activities

She even participated in almost all clubs.. like the dance club, drama club (1st prize for Romeo Juliet play), Master communications club (1st prize for Pecha Kucha night)... A great video right! covering all the things... all the queries... Great thanks to Sirisha sis to spend time and share all the experiences, her views and motivating juniors.

Things that to be grabbed...

Many of us might have set our aspirations indeed! but the role here comes is the implementation... College provides many opportunities... One who utilizes them and actively involve in exploring his/her talents by overcoming the fear trauma will definitely unlock their goals. That's what makes the difference and ultimately he/she would be the Outstanding Student... Hence proved!

To create any kind of music we require an instrument and every instrument has a unique sound of its own. I was always interested in music and wanted to learn drums but couldn't due to some reasons. Three years ago, One day while watching this random YouTube video I saw this guy making music just by using his mouth and I was intrigued by that and got to know what it's called. Beatboxing. I then wanted to learn this art form so I started watching a lot of videos and started practicing. The best part about beatboxing is unlike any other type of music here the only instrument is your mouth. Your vocal chords which you have all the time. And the best part is that I was not restricted to just one type of music. I could make different sounds and explore and create my own music. So from practicing in my washroom to performimg in front of 2000 people I learnt and realized how important this was to me. The best feeling is when the crowd enjoys watching you enjoy. "When you do what you love, work becomes passion".

Little Flower Degree college has a talented team of young, creative and energetic minds that work behind the scene of various happening's and Today I decided to meet one such astonishing group, the group that works tirelessly and effortlessly behind the remarkable Little Flower College Website.

This group of creative minds are referred to as the Website developing squad .
A group of 10 boys from different classes and courses join together to create this website, A month’s time is the estimated duration for the completion of tasks and the work is divided equally among them keeping each other’s strength in mind.

“Anybody is invited to join our team, anyone who has a passion and desire to learn has a seat”, said the group.
When asked what’s the most challenging task when it comes to working for a website they say choosing the right template without a doubt. They are using HTML program to develop the website, we are excited and eagerly waiting to see the results.

The core foundation of their team is passion, their love for computer and the subject is what motivates them every day to spend about 3 hours a day despite busy schedules to work on the website. They not only do they best but they also receive the best training and they learn a lot, with the help that they receive from their instructor and lecturer.

The 6th edition of FYI talks happened yesterday, i.e. July 28, 2019. There were three speakers, each with a different form of expression and a life as different from each others’ as it can get - a rapper, a dancer and a travel blogger. Pranav Chaganty, the Telugu rapper is known for his catchy songs in Telugu and he also performed for big films like Kaala. Sravya Manasa is a Kuchipudi dancer from Hyderabad, known for her intricate, graceful ballet productions. The third one was Bhavya, a travel blogger who quit her corporate job to pursue a life of adventure and to satiate her wanderlust.

txt
rich_1564404167096

Completely different from each other right? But, as I was talking to them, I realised there was one thing that was common between them, apart from them being so successful in their 20s and that is their educational background. The rapper, the dancer and the blogger are all engineers, having earned their engineering degree before setting out to pursue what feeds their soul. Entirely like that meme that says “do engineering first and then do what you love”.

txt
rich_1564404167097

Given the borderline obsession with engineering owing to the socio-economic conditions in our country, most teenagers are directed towards engineering by their parents but based on what I’ve seen and done (I did engineering too but now I’m an entrepreneur), it doesn’t matter what you do or which college you are in. In fact, you can utilise your own college as a platform to rise up. For instance, Sravya performed extensively in her college events and that added to her portfolio. To reiterate, you need not worry about being in the wrong place if you want to do something and instead, utilise your own college and platforms like stuMagz to be discover yourself and to be discovered.

txt
rich_1564404167098

Whether it is an expressive art form like dancing or singing or painting or something comparatively less expressive like writing or something like photography, regardless of what it is, the three people didn’t have many platforms to take it ahead and they actually utilised whatever their colleges could offer. You can do the same too, on your college magazine on stuMagz.
"}]
Dear 2016 Thrisha,

It’s been a wild ride so far, hasn’t it? . I know you are worrying about where you will end up, what will happen, and how you will get there. I want to tell you to have faith in yourself. Do not spend so much of your time filled with worry and more time enjoying yourself
And remember the following...

You Are Worthy

You have never deserved the abuse you were born into, and you did nothing to perpetuate it. You deserve to be loved and treated with respect. It’s not your fault when people don’t treat you the way you deserve to be treated. All you can do is control your own actions and reactions as much as possible. You cannot control another person’s behavior with your actions, and it’s not your responsibility.

Don’t Be So Hard on Yourself..

You are doing the best you can with what you have, which has never been much. You’re not perfect because you’re an actual human person, made of flesh, blood, bone, strengths, and weaknesses. You are constantly learning and adapting, which will serve you well throughout your life. Give yourself a break every now and then. You deserve it.

Stop Making Excuses for People Who Hurt You

The only thing an excuse is good for is making yourself feel better for a short time, but if you keep making them, nothing ever changes. Don’t lie to yourself about why people hurt you. Those who hurt you, especially consistently, are not worthy of the time and energy you put into explaining away their inexcusable behavior. No one has the right to mistreat you, and I won’t say “for any reason” because there’s never a reason. People who are not toxic do not abuse others, no matter what kind of day, week, month, year, or life they might be having. Eliminate negative, toxic people from your life as soon as you’re aware of them, and seek out healthier alternatives.

You Are Not Who They Say You Are

I know it’s tempting to listen to other people’s opinions of you, especially when they’re your parents or other people you’ve been taught to look up to, but don’t believe what they say about you. They don’t understand you, and they never will. They feel threatened by you, and they want to control you, so they have to gaslight you into believing their lies. Never listen to anyone who claims to know you better than you know yourself, even if it’s your own parent or another authority figure. No one knows your own mind better than you do.
You Are Who You Decide to Become

You have control over whom you become. Where you came from and what you’ve experienced does not define you, but what you learn from it and how you use those lessons to evolve into the person you’ve always wanted to become does. You are a complex composition of everything that has ever happened to you .. good and bad. You can be whomever you decide to be. And you decide every day with each individual choice you make, so try not to let yourself down.

Be self dependent

Sadly, you are the only person you can rely on, but I think you’ve always known that deep down. No one else is looking out for you, so if you want what’s best for yourself, you’d better figure out what that is and make it happen. Don’t worry, though. Someday you’ll meet someone else who has only your best interests at heart, doesn’t want to hurt you, and actually, wants to help you lighten your load. It hasn’t happened yet, but I know one day it will.

Trust Yourself.

I know it’s incredibly difficult to trust yourself. You will learn the art of embracing authenticity. You will learn to trust in yourself. You were always trusting of others, but never trusting of yourself. This is going to change. You are going to learn to believe in your strength. One day, alone won’t be synonymous with lonely. The universe will respond to your bravery with beautiful people. You will not take them for granted. You will not expect attachment. You will practice appreciation instead of expectation.
Finally…

All that has happened, and will happen, to you will continue to shape who you are for the rest of your life. Without each of these experiences, you would not be you. They were and are necessary for you to learn and grow. They have taught you more than anyone can possibly imagine. You have learned to be stronger than you ever thought possible, stronger than you even know right now, and to take nothing for granted. Remember, I love you and I believe in you. It may not always seem like it, but it’s true. I will never give up on you. That’s how we’ve made it this far, and it’s how we’ll get where we have always wanted to go.

With love,
Thrisha, from 2019

txt

Though being in a place surrounded by greenery is refreshing... it also make us feel trapped there. No matter how many efforts you do to make yourself entertained during the lectures.. there are some days where you just wish to escape from the college! But if only that is as easy as you plan.. I mean, our college ambience don’t help either! But where there’s a will..( you know how the quote goes). In this crisis.. Deshmukhi temple becomes our savior😂. Near.. yet far enough from the college, peaceful aura of the temple, decent surroundings and also delicious food( if you are right on time), not to mention the picturesque places. But the most beautiful perk is you can get to home in the college bus as if nothing happened😅. With the right company you can walk, climb, dare say trek😂 to the temple. I mean, most of ours first ‘bunk’ is pretty much what I have described above! But of course, later on everyone gets their other bunking spots and calls this LAME🤷🏻‍♀. Deny all you want but you have been there at least once to check what’s the hype about it and took the lamest pictures ever😂( which you thought were so cool at that time). And also let’s not forget the so called thrill you got when you went there for the first time🤣. May that temple never be closed🔥😂.
P.S:- Even with all the new places and techniques we discovered to escape the college... that deshmukhi wala bunk still holds a special place💯😂.
◦
