I have been an entrepreneur for 4 years now and I had entrepreneurial aspirations for many years before that. Like every youngster with entrepreneurial aspirations, I have some people whom I consider to be as my gods of entrepreneurship and among them, Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft is one whose journey I read about extensively and he is someone who inspired me extensively. As I was thinking about what to write on my weekly blog, I came to know that today is Bill Gates' birthday. While I read a lot about him earlier, watching a series - Inside Bill's Brain is what made me understand him more.

That series follows his journey and speaks about his leadership style, precisely what made him what he is now. Though he comes from a well-off family, with both his parents being well established in their respective profession, Bill is someone who, in my understanding, had a massive urge to create his own identity and a hardcore never-say-die spirit. He is also someone who knows how to grab onto an opportunity and make the most of it.

Also, based on what I read about the man, I feel he is a complete geek and he has an unparalleled understanding of technology but what makes him the influential person he is is his understanding of users. In contrast with Steve Jobs-ian way of saying "users don't know what they want and we will give them a great product", Gates' approach towards building a product is more along the lines of giving users what they want, that they would be able to use in a very easy manner. That is the approach that we did when we built stuMagz. This is one of the many ways in which I took inspiration from the legendary entrepreneur.

Another great thing that I learnt from him is how to identify good leaders as when he stepped down as the CEO in 2000, he appointed Steve Ballmer as the CEO and after Ballmer retired in 2014, Satya Nadella was appointed as the CEO. This hows his exemplary talent in identifying leadership and it is something that I consistently try to do in my company as I believe everyone who works at stuMagz has a potential to be great leaders.

On this note, I want to conclude by saying students should follow great leaders like Gates and try to incorporate the learnings into their own lives as doing so, helped me become the entrepreneur that I am today.
"}]

Today, digital marketing is critical for companies, and many have failed to owe to a lack of an effective social media strategy. We'd be happy to assist if you'd like to learn how to use social media marketing for startups. We've put together a list of the top social media marketing tips for startups because the use of social media in digital marketing is so important.

1. Choose the Best Social Media Marketing Channels for Your Startup

Before pursuing any network, what you need to determine is where your firm's connected audience exists. Examples of the greatest social media marketing channels for a startup include Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Youtube, etc.

Shortlist at most four to five social media marketing channels where you can discover an audience interested in your product or service, then run campaigns on each site to determine which ones are best for your firm.

2. Perform Live Video Streamings

Live videos on Facebook had a rate of engagement of 4.3%, compared to non-live videos' engagement rate of 2.2%, according to a visual content marketing statistics study for 2018. (source: telescope.tv). As a result, live streaming videos must be a part of your list of social media marketing strategies.

3. Produce Content with Good Visuals

To accomplish your goal, your content must be appealing, original, and visually striking. It's all about visually expressing your startup and attracting customers to click on your advertisement (s).

4. Make the Most of What's Popular

You can find detailed information about the most popular social media trends on Facebook and Twitter. You can leverage trending hashtags or create your own personalised hashtags to enhance your social media marketing strategy. In the media and on the market, hashtags are a terrific method to stand out.

5. Utilize Influencer Marketing

Influencer marketing, in addition to ad efforts, can help you get incredible ROI. Developing partnerships with the industry's top social media influencers enables your brand to reach a larger audience and get considerable exposure. A social media influencer has a strong voice. With them, you may launch marketing campaigns and reach their highly engaged audience.

6. Develop a Community for Your Brand

Use social media networks to promote your firm, get market input, and connect with industry influencers. Once you've established the group, look for ways to deliver value to folks who interact with your brand. The information you post in your group has a good potential of inspiring those who aren't familiar with your company.

7. Build Relationships, Not Fan Clubs

Today, relationship marketing is the way to go. It will assist you in reaching out to and retaining your audience's interest in your products and services, as well as your online content and community. Create buzz about your startup; it's crucial. An effective social media strategy is essential for connecting with and building meaningful relationships with your customers.

8. Be Active

You won't get anywhere by being mute on social networking platforms. Your valuable customers could leave. It is better for you to stay active on social media. You'll appear more trustworthy as a result. It prevents clients from becoming disinterested. You are not required to stay active across all social media channels. However, be certain that you are on platforms where the majority of your audience is present.
"}]

Hyderabad continues to be amongst the top three cities searched for jobs amongst job seekers in India. Not just job seekers, but even companies looking to hire talent.

An analysis by job site has also shown that the youth here has proved to be the most in favor of the job market.

Due to the abundance of youth present and the presence of many global multinationals and Indian companies throughout the city, Hyderabadi youth are the most sought out

To make getting hired easier, here are the top 5 skills one has to nurture according to Forbes.

1. Empathetic Listening:

Empathetic listening is critically important for both your success and your team's cohesion, performance, and organizational culture. This means listening to connect with what matters to other human beings.

How do you become an empathetic listener, you ask?

Always strive to ask open-ended questions. Seek to understand.

2. Agility, Flexibility, And Adaptability:

Agility, flexibility, and adaptability are three skills in demand. Learn to adapt to change fast, especially in this fast-evolving modern society. Being flexible makes it easier to work with and being agile will only add to your desirability.

3. Modern Communication

Modern communication is an essential skill. I don't mean your boring PowerPoints and PDFs, I mean skills in micro-learning, video production/editing, and using pictures to tell stories. This is the era where people are learning and shifting fast.

Taking into consideration how attention spans are condensed these days, GenZ is all about games and video-based instruction.

Practice modern communication.

4. Emotional Intelligence

Emotional intelligence is the most predictable skill set that is shown to increase income and job title and gain a competitive advantage. All emotional intelligence competencies, including self- and social awareness, assertiveness, social responsibility, and empathy, can be acquired by assessing your EQi.

How do I increase my EQi, you ask?

First, choose development goals. Second, create action steps to increase competencies

5. Creative Thinking

A key skill is creative thinking. Too many people associate creativity with the arts when, in fact, it is the ability to do something with your imagination. This means not being limited by successes of the past, being open to new ideas from experts and front-line team members, being comfortable brainstorming with a team, always learning, and then having the organization develop a plan and communicate it.

"}]
The inspiration is not the receiving of information. The inspiration is applying what you’ve received. —Derek Sivers.

It's simple to look for inspiration all day long. You can email your pals' amazing videos, articles, and news pieces that you find online. However, using those external sources of motivation for your own objectives is the best (and most enduring) way to get inspired. Make no mistake: learning is crucial. Successful people in all disciplines are sponges for new information. They are motivated and inspired by the efforts and successes of others.

But here's the issue: copying other people's achievements and ideas only serves as Passive inspiration. Passive inspiration is something you practise every time you watch a video, read an article, or listen to an interview. Although you are not required to do anything, you may learn something. It's not the same as hearing about other people's achievements as it is to create your own.

Instead, we discover who we are and what is important to us through the process of Active inspiration, which involves the act of creating things, applying new ideas to our objectives, and making mistakes. It involves coming up with a brilliant idea on the fly and implementing it in your work. Finding a fresh approach and using it to achieve your own objectives is the goal.

It's about stumbling for new strategies and bringing them to life in your work. It's all about discovering new ideas and applying them to your goals. It's about learning a new exercise and adding it to your workout. The Application of ideas is more powerful than discovering new ideas.

Although learning and listening can help you view things differently, what really moves you forward in creating, producing, and experimenting. While passive inspiration can help you come up with ideas, active inspiration will help you move forward.

The best inspiration comes from the application of ideas rather than the consumption of ideas.

Let's suppose you just arrived in the USA, be it the fall semester or spring semester, and you have many things to take care of running through your head for the first few months. So here is a list of a few things you can do after arriving. We will discuss things you have to do immediately after landing to settle yourself in the place you will be staying in the US.

After arriving, figure out a way to reach your destination, be it the room with your friends or dorm or the home of your acquaintance. Find a way, be it a cab or someone picking you up, so that you can reach your destination with all your luggage without much hassle.

And after reaching the destination, there will be many things to care of, be it unpacking, acquiring utilities or necessities or a few formalities.

The utilities such as electricity, wifi, and gas may be a hassle to find the optimal one but reaching out to your neighbours or enquiring about your seniors beforehand can come in handy. If you are sharing the room with friends who are already there can exempt you from this task, but if you and your friends are new there or just arrived it will be a necessary task. Everyone will share the expense but when together it will be manageable.

And after utilities come to the expenses and the expenses in the first month will be considerably more compared to other months. One must also consider the expenses of the mattress, bed frame, table and others if one is not going to use dorms. Let’s not forget the shopping one has to do.

Now all the necessities are completed for survival, coming to formalities one must visit the International Student Service where you have to upload a few documents as proof that you are physically present there.

As you have all the things you need but you also need credit cards and a bank account for your financial wellbeing. It is important to have a good credit score for many things in the future and many people in the US use cards instead of cash. But one needs Social Security Number to apply for any bank account or a credit card which can only be acquired when you have an on-campus job or a graduate assistantship. No need to worry if you don't have them as there are few banks where opening an account is possible with consent from the university or someone you know. And there are some credit cards which can be acquired without any SSN. But be sure to open an account in the bank near your university so, it can be easily accessible.

So, these are some of the tips that I came across in my research hope it’s helpful.

"}]
Hello folks! Stumagz is back with another article from GITAM vizag. Before we get into the information about the piece. A littlllee bit of a headstart, people who are interested in startups, permanently hooked up watching ted talks and whatnot… Buckle up youuu this is definitely a piece of artwork if you will.

The Entrepreneur’s club at GITAM university is a place where all the nerd-heads, Whoop sorry… all the intellectuals have these startup ideas and unlike people like me, they actually do build their startup from scratch and participate in events, Ideathons, and basically showcasing their talents and make their notes from the time they procrastinated and manifested all the dreams true for real. Guys that actually takes a lot of guts doesn't it??
So, for all the junior entrepreneurs out there, GITAM University has this series of events that take place every year called the OPEN PITCH DAY SERIES which is what you guys are reading right now.

Students who enrolled in the E-Club have this startup idea with a whole team called the RSG which is short for Ready-Set-Go. Which segregated the startup into three big segments. The ready stage is for the pre-incubating startup ideas or which in a less confusing way means the ready state. A vague idea of getting ready and setting it all up for a future business. The second stage is the set stage where the startup is being worked on with a few assignments, and experimenting on stuff, testing if their idea is actually working. And the last and final stage is called the go stage where at this point in time we all get jealous and be like “ What on earth are we doing in life?” Because the same people who just and a vague idea about a startup and were all doubtful about themselves end up having a full pledged earning startup which actually will be out on the market as well.

The OPD series was a bang last year and the E-Club has just hosted the series this year on the 7th of September where all these people from RSG gave a pitch about their idea and mentors from the Venture Development Centre give their feedback on their RSG progress. Here is where the audience has the most fun. Mostly Psychopaths but yeah… seeing the people burst into flames before giving their pitch, getting all tensed up. But all the jokes apart it is no cap that freshers, final years from all over the college are collected under one roof building up their dreams. I bet you will be having all of these ideas and notes that you’ll be filling in tonight. And i also bet you won’t be remembering where you put that book. Okay before you realllllllly get offended these are a few pictures of the people at the OPD event.

I definitely had fun hearing these itches. You will have no idea how the process of this event starts from an SOS emergency device to prevent accidents to a pitch that has a QR code that avoids much consumption of student academic time. I’m so excited to be a part of this journey and I wish you could too. And oh! Even with people who might not have an RSG running, people are always welcome to present their idea. So that's all about this week’s article guys. Gotta go and write notes on starting a business someday and be on a ted talk. Which reminds me of rehearsing my Ted- talk speech. Will fill you in about that too lol… You have no idea what’s in store for the next article but neither do I. But I promise it's definitely something fun to give a read. See you, peeps!
"}]

So here are a few things you can consider before booking a flight ticket or starting to pan out everything you want to do before taking the flight. And also some things to help after arriving at the airport, because you will want everything in hand after an exhausting journey.

I may sound hypocritical, but try to spend as much time as you can with your family, friends and everyone you are leaving behind whom you may miss. Because after the enthusiasm of starting days dries out, you will get a dose of homesickness. So use this available time to make up for the future. Secondly, try to learn cooking or get a hands-on experience with the dishes you like and are easy to make with the ingredients you and get your hand on after settling there. Because it is hard to cook, even though it may look easy-peasy, you will only get wasted when you try it for the first time.

As we are on the subject of the things to do before going to the US, let me advise you on something it's best if you have a driver’s license from here. As it helps get learners there, if you have an international driving licence, it’s well and good. And if possible, get a dental and eye check-up because to get a dental check-up in the states is a luxury.

From here on are the things for you to consider if the day of your flight is a few days away and you start packing.
First and foremost, when shopping, don’t buy out many clothes because they will just become more luggage and you can get those in the states anyway.

You can carry small vessels and knives to use during your stay, but you can also buy them there, so it’s best to carry only essentials. And pack as many medicines as possible, which you easy here like for headaches, stomachaches, migraine or sinus, you will not know when you have to sue them.

Pack spare copies of documents with you as many as possible, which can be useful when you go there. Also, note down emergency contacts and address you have about your contact in the states where it is easily assessable for you. And it is advised for the persons coming to the states to know the directions to their first destination after their arrival.

Finally, consider it most important if you think, plan your finances. Ask someone you know at the place you are going about the expenses in the first few months. Your fees, rent, and the expenses you will have during the first month, as one will have more expenses in the first month compared to later, plan and note down everything so it can be transferred at once. Instead of repeated transfers whenever the need arises as you will be charged every time.

So, these are a few tips I got from my friends and family members and hope it’s helpful. Have a good time when you go for your master's from day one.

"}]
