That one question which you hear more than anything is “Tell me about yourself” ??

Every interview you sit for has an unfortunate template ,technically that is what colleges think.
Its like preparing you for a war , for almost 2 years before you enter the battle field.
The pathetic situation is you still stand in front of the interviewing cabinet thinking what to tell about yourself.
Is it because you have already put it in resume ? or you do not have something interesting to tell to your interviewer.
Both can be partially right , but still why can't you crack an interview?
Why do all the awesome jobs are in the pockets of the big institutions.??
Why after preparing for two years with a proper template provided by college still limits you just to the cabin not the company??

Yes, you read the title right! I am sure you must be confused about what it means that India is welcoming back the cheetah’s.

Cheetahs in India had become extinct to the near eyesight. We could no where find a single wild Cheetah in the land of India ever since the year 1952. It had become an extinct animal for India until the government of India and The wildlife department has taken a huge initiative to bring life to the long-lost gem—The cheetah.

India has signed a memorandum of Understanding with the governments of South Africa and Namibia for the world’s first Trans-Continental Cheetah Translocation. The governments have decided to bring Eight Cheetahs to the Kuno Wildlife Sanctuary in the Sheopur district of Madhya Pradesh.

Next week we will be able to witness this event where the fastest land animal will be in India after 70 years of its non-existence. It is the first time that a large carnivore is being transported across continents .

“It is exciting, it's challenging. It's a big feather in India's cap to restore a lost treasure,” says Yadvendradev Jhala, dean of the Wildlife Institute of India

More than half the world's cheetah population comes from these countries. Namibia and South African are home to almost more than a third of the worlds 7000 cheetahs. These cheetahs were shot with tranquilizers from moving helicopters to capture these cheetahs.

More than six females cheetahs, are young animals in prime breeding age. “ They are cats who have already left their mothers and fully capable of surviving themselves,” says Mr van der Merwe.

With this India marks another great achievement to be the first to transport Trans-Continental Translocation of wild Carnivores.

Let's celebrate this achievement and welcome back Cheetahs to our Natural ecosystem.

St. Mary's College Yosufguda resumed with a lively crowd on Monday. The college helps build a foundation for students holding culture and education on an equal level. As a country Indian roots are held rigidly with values- forms of art like music and dance contribute to the same. Mary's recognizes, does the possible to bring out and highlight these forms.

Students in 2nd and 3rd years are back on campus to kickstart the new semester eagerly waiting for freshers to join the family. The ambiance of campus favors every student with multiple clubs and events planned by them. Clubs related to Photography, Theatre, Science, Public Speaking, Dance, Singing, Finance, Literature, Art, Sports, and so on have made their firm bases . So, with the start of the new academic year, every club plays a role in promoting their club for fellow students to register. The singing and dancing club, Surmayee and Dazzlers respectively, warmly welcomed the students.

Dazzlers club on Monday showcased expressions in the most mesmerizing ways. They performed various songs in different languages. Keeping the crowd engaged in all possible ways. Spectators were seen imitating steps and dancing with their friends throughout. Its always a difficult deal to select songs in the first place and then practice to reach perfection with every step while carefully choreographing.

Miss Lalitha shares with us, “Dance is a form I personally admire. It helps me showcase my talent. Dance and I have known each other for nearly 14 years now. I have practiced it and still do. So, Dazzlers as a club helps me work towards the same, and its lovely to be there.”

txt
rich_1661449657135

Music is thoughts in the form of melody and it is ever-changing. The thoughts we usually associate with a certain song or music also change. It absorbs our feelings, experiences, and emotions. Carrying the same concept The Surmayee club on Tuesday presented in their euphonious voices, multiple songs in three different languages – Hindi, English, and Telugu. Every member individually contributed to making the event engaging, and lively. The team has a guitar and keyboard player without whom the performance could have been incomplete in its ways. The sync of their high- and low-pitched tunes were what kept us unconsciously humming. The faculty members were seen recording clips and appreciating students' post performance on both days.

What was the most special moment you experienced? (right to left, second)

Mr. Kishore, an active member of college and the club added that “First of all, it was extremely fun singing yesterday because it was the first event of the semester. I personally did not have the chance before as I was involved in so many other things, I couldn’t make time for this. So, I was really excited for my first performance in our campus, which to me felt like a mini stadium of its own.
When we were singing it was beautiful because there was this one part where I had to hum the tune of a song called Masakalli, a few in audience started smiling helped me build in courage and it made me feel good about myself and I felt that I really sang well. So that was a very special moment for me.”

In a fast-moving world, with westernization on peaks, it certainly is hard to maintain the culture, hold on to it and further teach it to every passing generation. However, the faculty at Marys encourages students to step into the overall development.
"}]
Well, you are now in the year where everyone eagerly awaits to know your next step. Many may show you a carrot on a stick. Or you may just follow the mob. But everyone at least once thinks about going for masters. What may be the reason or motive – everyone does.

Let's not talk about your reasons to go, but if you steeled yourself to do it. Your decision is worth praise. But it’s not enough to just have zeal. There are many things you have to do to get there. And once you are out there, you will be, for most, an individual in the true sense. No more depending on parents.

Let’s just face it no one tries to get help from home once they are out there for everything if not for some unavoidable circumstances – no one does that. You have to take care of yourself – from food to shelter. You have to earn your penny and spend it. And let's not forget the way to make money, for most part-time – I guess. By considering the number of part-time jobs you can get, their pay, the cost of living, essentials – huh, the list goes on. Well, it’s going to be challenging. So one should decide where they want to do their masters so that –- they don’t have to be frugal.

So here are the five cities that provide great opportunities and scale us financially.

San Diego – is one of the cities which goes easy on the wallets of the students studying here, with an average tuition fee of $15,500 ( approx 12,40,000 ) and an average cost of living up to $2,400 per month (approx two lakhs ). It is still considered easy considering the opportunities and the monthly earnings one can get. As the city is nearer to the Mexican border, there are many beaches to look out for, enjoying the long sunset while taking a stroll along the beach is a moment worth all money.

Baltimore – is second on our list with many monuments on its belt which students can enjoy during their stay for relaxation without getting repetitive. This city ranked fifth for education and tenth for the opportunities it houses for the students among all the student cities in the US. It is also home to some of the cheapest and best universities. With an average tuition fee of $21,500 and an average cost of living up to $2,000 per month.

Atlanta – is one of the student favourites and ranked 57 on the list of the world’s best student cities. It is favoured for the opportunities and the industry exposure it provides. There are many museums and mountains for hiking which can be good to blow off some steam for the students. The average cost of living here is up to $2,200 per month and the average tuition fee is $27,100.

Philadelphia – has the second largest number of universities in all of the US. With an average tuition fee of $29,900 and an average cost of living going up to $1,300 per month. It is ranked eighth in the QS ranking for best student city. It is also one of the Heritage cities recognized by UNESCO so, there are many historical places to visit and explore to spend the weekend. This city is also handy as it is only hours away from New York and Washington, DC which can be a small weekend getaway or for short internships, jobs or projects.

Houston – is the fifth on our list and it is the fourth largest city in the US and second for having many companies from fortune500. It stands proudly among the cheapest cities for international students with an average cost of living going up to $2,000 per month. It is the top pick for many to pursue Astrophysics, Engineering, high-level Mathematics and Physics it is also dubbed the Space city as it is home to NASA.

So, why the wait – if you want to go aboard, go and search where you want to study. Good Luck.

"}]
Realise to Stop Shoulding yourself.

Life is a race - don't be a broken anda, we all heard this dialogue and laughed while watching the movie “3 idiots” but reality kicks in when we realize this isn't just a movie dialogue.

Hey, I am Winston, a twenty-year-old who participated unknowingly in the race to win life, but how far did I get? Or did I even start my race? or did I quit in the middle? These are the thoughts that run through my mind every time I get exhausted running the race.

I always wonder why things are chucked at our faces and left with no option but to face them and make us feel dead from the inside. You feel the same right?

If yes, then congrats you are on the right path and I call it - THE PATH OF THORNS.

Every time I question myself why….why on earth did this happen to me? why only me? Why not anyone else, why the hurdles? why the risk? and why the sacrifice? And why isn't there any straight path to achieving what I want in life?
And every time the answer I get in return is "this is how you achieve success in life." You fight, you sacrifice, you risk and go along with it….but how long and how far can we go doing this?
I feel these are the answerless and timeless questions.

Being this confused and unanswered, I met many people who already have jobs, are settled and have a stress-free life. Every time I meet
them I feel like I am falling behind and not working enough to make my dreams come true. Ultimately all these lead to only one pressure point-"STRESS".

From watching a kid earning lakhs per month on the internet to a 40-year-old getting bankrupt we all compare ourselves and this is the reason we're all dissatisfied with what we have and that's when you start being the other self. The one which everyone admires. But, but, but…Personality begins only when the comparison leaves off. You're Unique.
The realization that I got and probably you will get at a certain point in life is that life is unexpected and never goes according to plan. We all go through the same rough patch somewhere or the other, some may find it difficult and quit and some may find it challenging and face it.

The whole point here is letting to know to move slowly with your life,
never force yourself, take a break, cry out loud in difficult times, take care of yourself and your loved ones and do what you wanted to do even if it takes more time than others.
There may be many dire straits, they may hurt you, break you and dissapoint you but be strong and just trust your path just like I trusted mine.

Mary an American author is on her way to India and so are, three other people. Anjali who is returning home from Paris where she is pursuing a post-graduation program, Mark a banker from London on a professional trip to India and Suzan from Dubai on a solo trip to India.

The group meets at the waiting lounge in Dubai airport from where, they are supposed take a flight to Delhi after 6 hours. All of them get along 'like a house on fire', narrate stories to each other about their life in different countries and how they cope up with it. They exchange numbers and decide to keep in touch and meet up in India. Mary tells the group that she was going to stay for a period of 2 months and learn more about the country so that she could write a book about the relationships and values in the country.

When the plane lands in Delhi airport on March 21st 2020, all the passengers are screened for coronavirus, the pandemic started taking shape in the country. All of the passengers are advised home quarantine, and just a few days after this incident a national lockdown is announced. With no way to learn about Indian relationships and value system, Mary decides to write a book about 4 strangers form 4 different places in the world meeting at an airport travelling to India amid a pandemic and remaining friends later on. Of course she had the resources at her disposal, she talks to Anjali and Suzan over phone and takes a few inputs from them. She calls Mark as well but he doesn't answer her phone. She leaves a message on his phone, asking him to call back.

A few months later Mark's wife Lucy calls Mary and informs her about Mark's untimely death due to COVID-19 and states that she just received his belongings from India. Mary, Anjali, Suzan are shocked and taken aback by the news.

We like happy endings, don't we?

But I guess Mary's book and Mark's life, never got a happy ending.

Definition (Source: Britannica)
Racism, also called racialism, any action, practice, or belief that reflects the racial worldview—the ideology that humans may be divided into separate and exclusive biological entities called “races”; that there is a causal link between inherited physical traits and traits of personality, intellect, morality, and other cultural and behavioral features; and that some races are innately superior to others. Since the late 20th century the notion of biological race has been recognized as a cultural invention, entirely without scientific basis.

txt
rich_1661182479197

Now that you know the basics, let's begin our talk.
Do black lives only matter? Wait, did I miss something here? All lives matter, and hence as a matter of fact, black lives ALSO matter. But that doesn't mean only their lives matter, lol it is a mess! It has always been about the discrimination and casteism. How do you reckon the feeling of repulsion for either black or white started? In the above definition if you read the last line, you'll notice "entirely without scientific basis". We students being the kids of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 generation cannot digest something which doesn't have a scientific proof, very easily. But who'd explain that to the no Gen Z kids, the adults? This feeling of racism is imbibed in so many people since their childhood and childhood is a very tender age, you start believing whatever you hear. Most parts of the world were outraged, and even now, regarding the same. There have been rallies, disputes and serious fights about the grim situation right now. The concept of race was created as a classification of human beings with the purpose of giving power to white people and to legitimize the dominance of white people over non-white people which quite evidently has been continuing. The black usually were slaves in bad olden days. We had this so called concept of King and servants which is rare to find now-a-days, people grew, mentality didn't unfortunately. Since those days, even if the black wanted to excel (and many did and are still doing), a lot of them lack the ancestral property and support that carry forward for generations. Hence we see a lot of them struggling. The mindset is the cherry on the cake. It's like we Indians considering the British to be bad people because they invaded India almost 70 years ago despite knowing the fact that people who invaded must be long gone. Those days are over. But because we carry pride in our hearts of setting ourselves free (which technically we didn't do), we continue to feel the same about British. And maybe they feel the same about us. It's all in the mind. But if only the mind could keep it simple, what do what we think. Today, there are so many blacks suffering because of that mindset, they make the lives of black so difficult for no good reason. Torturing them without proper reasons and ethics.

txt
rich_1661182479198

Let's look at a few facts about this kind of racism.
1) From 2013 to 2017, white patients in the US received better quality health care than about 34% of Hispanic patients, 40% of Black patients, and 40% of Native American patients.
2) In the US, Black individuals are twice as likely to be unemployed than white individuals. Once employed, Black individuals earn nearly 25% less than their white counterparts.
3) In one US survey, 15.8% of students reported experiencing race-based bullying or harassment. Research has found significant associations between racial bullying and negative mental and physical health in students.
4) Black Americans and white Americans use drugs at similar rates, but Black Americans are 6 times more likely to be arrested for it.

txt
rich_1661182479199

And the list goes on. What mistake did they commit and what are they even being punished for? They're being punished for something they didn't even have control over. Their birth family. Do you think they deserve this? The pathetic situation doesn't end here, our leaders today (leaders?) support this kind of discrimination and take actions in support of it. In fact, the public who the leader is supposed to serve and guide has to come and teach him what he's doing wrong. But few leaders are arrogant, they can only preach but not learn. Our world is better than that, we are better than that and we have to realize it. We have to accept the past, embrace the good part and let go of the worst, not cling to it and replicate the horrible doings of our ancestors. Hopefully, our generation will be a better one, with sensible people and sensible way of thinking, who will understand where to bring up religion and where to talk about humanity striking the right balance between them. In the end, that is what defines us, not a mere colour of our skin.

txt
rich_1661182479200
